Volcan's Fire (Guardians of The Elements #1)

A small movement of the hand and Volcan was holding a glass of red wine.

“Have you heard any news about Naios?” asked Humos.

  “No. You?”

  “No.”

“Aerios was enthusing about your chosen one. He said she’ll give you the run-around,” recounted Volcan, laughing. Humos’ brown eyes widened.

“He told you that? When I last saw her she was still such an innocent thing – she wouldn’t have hurt a fly.”

“Well, she will have definitely changed a lot. Coreena is also very different from five years ago. And I can tell you that I’m damn happy about that. She’s a fantastic woman.”

“Wow! You really do sound like you’re in love.”

“We’ll talk again when your chosen one has wrapped you around her finger. Believe me, it’s completely different to shagging any old women who aren’t important to you.”

“Hey! I haven’t had half as many women as you or Aerios. And I even get together several times with most of the women!” protested Humos.

“Impressive,” said Volcan sarcastically, and he emptied his wine glass. He opened his eyes and looked at his friend. “As I said. We’ll talk again. In a year.”

Coreena could not concentrate on anything any more. She could not wait to meet Volcan for lunch. She looked at the clock. In ten minutes she needed to leave to be in Ricky’s diner punctually at one o’clock. It was not worth starting something new. She sighed. If she left now she would be too early. On the other hand he might get there early. If not, then she would just wait for a while. It was better to wait at the diner than here in the office. She jumped up decisively and reached for her jacket. She rushed out of the office, passing her secretary’s desk.

“Going to lunch. You can get hold of me on my mobile if you need to,” she informed Phil.

“OK. Have fun,” Phil wished Coreena, winking.

Coreena looked at her secretary suspiciously. Did she perhaps know anything?

“Thanks. I could really do with something to eat now. I’ll be back soon,” she said, without looking directly at Phil. “See you later!”

When she got to the diner she spotted Volcan through the window. He was sitting at a table in the corner. A blond waitress was standing next to him and was clearly taking down his order. Coreena’s heart beat excitedly. He was already there. It was good that she had also set off early. She could not wait to hear his voice, to look into his eyes and to feel his hands.

Suddenly she froze in the midst of her joyful thoughts. Volcan had put his hand intimately on the waitress’s mini skirt clad bottom, and she was leaning over and saying something. They both laughed. Coreena’s heart leapt and she suddenly felt sick. Then the blond girl leant further forward and kissed Volcan. And the bastard responded to the kiss. Quite passionately even. Tears shot into Coreena’s eyes. Yet again a man had taken the piss. And yet she could have sworn that it was different with Volcan. She had really believed him. Believed everything. How much of it had even been true?

Blinded by tears, she turned and ran away. She nearly ran into a car and angry horn blowing sounded behind her. She did not take any notice. She did not care about anything. Nothing was important any more except the pain that she felt. Sobbing, she stopped a few blocks away and tried to get herself under control again. She could not possibly go back to the office like this.

  *

Volcan walked into Ricky’s diner with a prettily packed box under his arm. He was a few minutes late and expected Coreena to be waiting for him already, but she was nowhere to be seen. It looked as if she was also late. He looked for a seat and ordered a glass of red wine. He had put the box on the table. He was anxious to see what Coreena thought of the gift. Hopefully she would like it.

His red wine arrived and he took a sip. It was a good wine. Perhaps he should order a bottle of it straight away. No! Best not. Coreena would almost certainly not drink alcohol during the working day. He could tolerate much more alcohol than humans normally could. He looked at the clock. Coming up to quarter past one. What could be holding her up so long?

When it got to half an hour past the time that they were due to meet, Volcan gradually became worried. He was certain that Coreena would never arrive this late. Something must have happened. His heart began to pound. He had not sensed anything. If she had been in danger, he would have sensed it. But what else could have stopped her making it to their date? Had she perhaps not found the message?

He waved to the waitress and paid for the wine, then he left the diner with a bad feeling in his stomach. In a quiet side street he checked that no one could see him and then immaterialised. In the lift of the office block in which Coreena’s advertising agency also had its rooms, he materialised again and went up. Phil smiled coquettishly at him when he came into the office.

“Hello, Phil,” he greeted her casually and gave her one of his beautiful smiles.

“Hello, Mr. Custos. What can I do for you?”

“Please let Coreena know that I’m here. I have something urgent to discuss with her.”

“I’m sorry, Mr. Custos. Miss Tanner has expresslysaid that she does not wish to be disturbed again today. No matter who comes and no matter what it’s about.”

“I’m certain that if you tell her that I’d like to speak to her she’ll agree to see me.”

  Phil shook her head.

“Sorry,” she said with regret. “I have my orders. I’m happy to make an appointment for you for tomorrow. “

“No thank you, that’s not necessary,” said Volcan, with bad grace, and he turned around. “See you later!”

  “Good bye, Mr. Custos.”

When Volcan stepped out into the corridor he breathed deeply. He closed the door and considered what could have made Coreena avoid him. This was not good at all. Something here smelt bad. He briefly considered simply materialising in her office, but decided against it. No! He would give her some time and visit her this evening.

  *

Coreena’s heart was beating to bursting point as she listened, at the door, to the discussion between Volcan and her secretary. She almost expected him to simply let himself into her office, but in the end he said goodbye and left. She breathed a sigh of relief. She had not wanted to be confronted by him now. The pain sat too deep and the wound was too fresh. Most of all she would like never to see him again. She would simply reject his job. He had only used it as a means to an end anyway. So why waste any more time on it?

A crazy part of her wished now, as before, that he would come back to her and make love to her again. She wanted him to make her forget. But that was naïve and stupid. She had to face the facts as they were. He had clearly responded to this waitress’s kiss. And that was not a friendship kiss. Damn all men! They always thought with their dick, no matter what they promised you. That was the last time that she would allow herself to be betrayed. Something like this would definitely never happen to her again!

  *

Revolted, Coreena pushed the plate away from her. She simply had no appetite. She had also not been able to concentrate on work. Her thoughts kept on wandering back to the scene in which Volcan had kissed the blond girl. She could see everything in the smallest, painful detail. The way his hand fondled her bottom, her silicon breasts that almost jumped out of her blouse, and the way Volcan put his damned tongue into the slut’s mouth.

  “Shit! Bastard!”

She jumped up and went into the lounge where she poured herself a cognac and sat down on the sofa. If things carried on like this, she will have emptied the bottle, that had stood untouched for a year, in a very short space of time.

Suddenly he was standing in the middle of her lounge. His expression was miserable and his eyes fiery. He had chosen his human form, but his eyes were anything but human. Shocked, she screamed and nearly dropped the glass of cognac. Her fingers shaking, she put the glass onto the table.

“Surprised to see me?” he asked in a dangerously calm voice.
>
She consciously called his unfaithfulness to mind to stop herself from being pulled in by him again. It worked. The anger that arose in her helped her to sit up straight and look him straight into his fiery eyes.

“I should have considered the fact that you can turn up anywhere, at any time, uninvited. I’m amazed that you didn’t just burst into my office.”

“I briefly considered it. But I thought that we should sort out the matter in a somewhat more private environment.”

“The matter?” she asked coolly. She laughed joylessly. “A nice description of unfaithfulness!”

  “Unfaithfulness? Did you maybe…?

“Did I maybe what?” she asked cuttingly. “Did I see it? Yes!Unfortunately I was early. I didn’t know, of course, that my audience with you was not to begin until one o’clock on the dot!”

“What the hell are you talking about?”

“About the fact that I was a quarter of an hour early at Ricky’s Diner and saw what you were doing with the blond girl!” she screamed at him and jumped up.

With clenched fists she stood there and looked at him angrily.

Suddenly Volcan was standing directly in front of her. She did not see him move. Damn his bloody tricks.

“Which damned blond girl are you talking about?” he bellowed back.

“So is there morethan one? – Is that why you don’t know which one I’m talking about?”

“Damn it, Coreena! I have noidea what you’re talking about! I didn’t get to the diner till ten past one. I waited for you till half past one.”

“Lier! If you’d at least admit it I could deal with it better!”

“Whatshould I admit to? I don’t even know what I’m supposed to have done with this blond girl!”

He glared at her angrily. His fists were clenched.

“Are you trying to tell me that you’ve already forgotten the way you kissed her?” asked Coreena, beside herself with rage.

“Damn it, Coreena. What are you talking about? For weeks I haven’t kissed any other woman but you! Why do you think I have?”

“I saw you both!” she screamed. “I saw exactly how you grabbed her bottom and then you kissed. Kissed properly! That wasn’t a harmless little kiss. My goodness, I thought you were going to get it on together right there and then.”

Volcan took hold of her arms and shook her.

“I haven’t kissed anyone! I don’t know what you think you saw, but…” He stopped and shook his head. “Of course! I can’t believe that didn’t occur to me earlier!”

“Oh! Have you finally remembered after all what you did?” asked Coreena sarcastically.

“No! But I’ve realised who’s behind this!”

“Who’s behind this? What do you mean by that?” asked Coreena suspiciously.

“Mendax! The liar. I know that Mendax and Exesor are trying to split us up. Exesor is the one behind the attack on you. But this carries the signature of Mendax. He and Exesor can both assume any shape whatsoever. One of them took on my appearance, the other was the woman. That’s the only logical explanation.”

Coreena looked at him sceptically. She wanted to believe him. But she still had a problem with these supernatural things. She looked at him. He seemed to be waiting for a reaction from her. What should she say to him? She did not know herself what she should think.

“Don’t you believe me?” he asked, hurt.

  “I… I don’t know. I...”

Before she knew what was happening to her, he had pulled her into his arms and was kissing her. Wildly and roughly. She could feel his anger and tried to push him away. He was simply too strong for her. She did not stand a chance of fleeing from his angry passion. He grabbed her skirt, and with one tug, tore it from her body. She now stood before him in just her lace panties and blouse. There was much too little material between her and this man who was sweltering hot. She could very clearly see his arousal.

“There’s only one woman in my life,” he murmured huskily into her ear. He moved his tongue down her neck and she trembled involuntarily. She groaned.

“I will make sure that I conquer you once and for all, that you never doubt me again. You belong to me. We are meant for one another.”

“And who do you belong to?” she asked defiantly.

“To you,” he murmured, and he kissed her hungrily. “Only to you!”

Another tug and her blouse suffered the same fate as her skirt and ended up in tatters on the floor. Volcan took hold of her breasts and she groaned again. She was still not sure whether she should believe him and the anger and the jealously were still smouldering in her heart, but she could not stop her damned body reacting to him. Like a bitch in heat she pushed herself against him when he put his hand on her Venus mound. He rubbed her with the palm of his hand until her panties were drenched in her juices.

“Say that you want me,” he urged her.

“No,” she whispered, but her body was saying the opposite and was pushing imperiously against him.

He slipped a hand under the lace of her panties and bathed in her juices. When his finger slid inside her, she grabbed his shoulders to hold herself up because her trembling legs threatened to give way beneath her.

“Say it!” he demanded again, whilst he carried on stimulating her.

Coreena groaned. Tears flowed over her cheeks. An image was still clearly in her mind. Volcan and this blond woman. Or was he telling the truth. Could it be? Logic stopped her believing it. But she had seen and experienced a lot of unbelievable things since she had met him.

He lifted her into his arms and teleported them into her bedroom. Coreena’s heart was racing as he put her down onto the bed. Breathlessly she watched him remove his clothes. He transformed and it was the warrior who got into her bed. His glowing eyes studied her body from head to toe. Coreena was breathing heavily and her belly seemed to have knotted. She could remember only too clearly the overwhelming passion that this warrior had dealt her the last time.

“I will conquer you again,” he groaned, and bent over her breasts.

His tongue moved rapidly over one of her aroused points and she writhed. He took the point into his mouth and sucked. His enormous sex felt hot against her thigh. She wanted to feel him inside her – wanted him to fill her to bursting point. She whimpered.

He caressed both breasts until she twisted beneath him. She had dug her hands into the sheet. She still stopped herself giving in to him completely. She wanted to remain passive, but she could not do anything to stop the reaction of her body. When he slid a hand down to her pussy and slid further, she knew that he would find her hot and wet.

“Why are you finding it so difficult to say something out loud, that your body’s already telling me anyway?” he asked hoarsely. “I want you to give yourself to me unconditionally. For you not to hold anything back from me.”

Coreena closed her eyes and bit on her lower lip. She wanted him to make love to her. But she was also stubborn, and unconditional capitulation was out of the question.

Volcan groaned and slid down her body to position himself between her thighs. As he parted her pussy lips with his tongue Coreena writhed. With all her might she suppressed a scream. His bewitching tongue play was rendering her senseless. Her mind no longer seemed capable of any clear thought. She seemed to consist only of numerous over sensitive nerves. Every touch brought her closer to collapse. It was so senseless to fight against him. It was a fight that she could not win. The question now was not whether she would submit to him, but when she would.

“Say it, Coreena,” he murmured into her lap, but she was not yet ready to give in.

“No. Please stop,” she pleaded shakily.

‘Who are you pretending to, girl? As if you really want him to stop right now.’

“You didn’t want it any other way,” groaned Volcan.

He was playing a cruel game with her. He was stimulating her to the extreme, then withdrawing from her, and he watched as she lay there with tears in her e
yes, biting her own lip, fighting herself. He repeated the game of attack and withdrawal until Coreena thought she was going to lose her mind if he did not at last take her. As she, again, came close to the climax, and felt him getting ready to let her down again, she interjected.

  “Please,” she pleaded, in tears.

“Please what?” he murmured into her damp flesh.

“Please don’t stop. Please take me now,” she sobbed.

The first time he had slid into her very slowly so that she could get used to his size. This time she was more than ready for him and he took her in one conquering thrust. The little game had also aroused him in the extreme, and so it took very few thrusts to make them both reach orgasm with intensity. She screamed and he gasped her name.

  Abyssus

A scream echoed through the darkness in the abyss where the evil powers lived. The anger that Mendax felt was immeasurable. This weak human woman. He had believed her capable of more. But no! She had yet again given herself to this chauvinist. It was so difficult with these women. They had always fallen into Volcan’s lap like ripe apples, but Mendax had hoped that this Coreena would never trust him again after the false kiss. He had to think of something better. Exesor’s plan had not worked either of course. They simply had to be more cunning. If they succeeded in preventing Coreena and Volcan from carrying out the ceremony by full moon, then they will have won. If this ceremony fell through there would be no second chance for Volcan. He would lose his power over his element and it would go to Exesor. If all four guardians were to lose their power, then a completely new age would begin. The stupid thing was that if they could not gain an element then they had to wait for another guardian to meet his chosen one. However, once they had won something, that could not be taken from them. If a guardian should lose his element then his whole lineage would die out, and no more guardians would be born into his lineage.

They had to come up with a plan. And it had to be a good one. Mendax was still angry, and when he was angry he simply could not think clearly. He would distract himself a little in the human world and put a few nice lies into the world. That had always raised his spirits. Then, when he was in a better mood, he would think of something. Something that would definitely be successful.
