Patricia placed her arms around Leonard’s neck and fixed her gaze on Nora when the blonde Quentin passed them on her way out of the school’s football stadium after practice. Coach Author had taken his boys through a rigorous drill that afternoon and had ordered the cheerleading team to come, watch and appreciate what it took to win.

Nora understood where the coach was coming from, but she wanted to win back her boyfriend from Patricia before winning any other thing.

“Don’t worry; she doesn’t love him . . . yet,” Linda assured her friend as she walked up. “She’s doing all this ‘coz she’s . . . jealous of you.”

“I can kill her with my bare hands,” Nora swore.

“And get a prisoner’s job in SLPD?” Linda proposed. “Nora, come on.”

“Alright,” Nora agreed. “Where do we go from here?”

“We’ll give him this when he’s on his way home. It’s a letter purported to be from Tricia. Peter copied her writing.”

“Peter can do that?” Nora asked Linda in awe.

“Sure. His friend will help us get the message across.”

  “Who?”

“I.K.? The guy from the UK?” Linda clarified. “Anyway, Eden’s job is to lure our victim to his house and . . . and do whatever they do in his room. Time is four in the evening. We’ll make sure Leonard sees that.”

“You’ve done well, soldier,” Nora congratulated her friend, patting her on the back. “Let’s go celebrate.” And they walked out of the stadium, hand in hand.

Patricia will never know what hit her! Really.

The plan was tight and the game was on.
