Jenna's Awakening (Dr. Jenna Harper Series Book 1)

Jenna continued exploring Kris with her tongue. Once again, she slid her right hand down between them. This time, she slid her fingers underneath the side of Kris's soaked panties. She traced the outline of her panties along the side and up.
Kris tried to push Jenna’s jeans off, but it was a futile attempt. She blocked her with her free hand. At the angle she was at straddling Kris's leg, she used the seam of her jeans to her advantage. It hit just the right spot sending undulating ripples of pleasure up her spine.
Jenna slid her fingers and hand over top and inside of Kris's panties, teasing Kris before plunging her fingers down further. Finally, she took the slippery path towards Kris's erogenous zone.
Jenna’s teeth grazed Kris’s lips as she whispered. “You’re so wet.”
Jenna’s kiss muffled her moan as she felt Jenna’s fingers against her. She writhed in pleasure and pulled at the covers underneath her as Jenna worked her hand up and down. Jenna knew exactly what she was doing. The strokes started out slow and steady, up and down. Sometimes, Jenna’s fingers worked her back and forth, throwing in a few circles every now and then. She was driving her crazy.
Jenna could tell Kris enjoyed the way she touched her, which fueled her own desire more. She already had one orgasm from her jeans rubbing against Kris's thigh. She increased the pressure and speed of the rhythm of her fingers against Kris. She could feel Kris's body tense up, ready to climax again. Instead of pushing Kris over the edge, she slowed down again. Kris pushed her hips up wanting more. She gave Kris one last kiss before she used her lips and tongue to work her way down Kris's chest and abdomen. When she was finally between her thighs she ran her hand from Kris's ankle, over her knee, and then let her fingernails tickle her inner thigh.
Kris squirmed around on the bed. She made Jenna promise no more tickling earlier, but this was foreplay. She licked her lips and tried to let her body relax. She focused on Jenna’s touch.
Jenna slipped both hands underneath the sides of Kris's panties just as she had before, caressing everywhere except the one place Kris yearned to be touched. Finally, she curled her fingers around the thin straps of the panties and slid them down leaving Kris completely exposed. She kissed Kris's inner thigh and worked her way towards her center. She wedged her shoulders underneath Kris's legs.
Kris looked down at Jenna who stared back at her with a hungry desire in her eyes. Kris braced herself for what she knew was about to happen, but she still gasped when she felt Jenna’s warm tongue take over where her fingers had been earlier. She moved her hips around and moaned in ecstasy. She brought Jenna’s hand to her mouth and drew two of Jenna’s fingers between her lips and sucked on them trying to muffle her own moans. She felt like she was climbing the walls.
Jenna alternated licking, sucking, and rubbing, leaving Kris no time between to recover. Right before Jenna felt Kris getting ready to orgasm, she pushed her hand back down and made her way back up to kiss Kris as she climaxed.
Jenna stroked Kris's hair and softly kissed her face while she waited for Kris to catch her breath.
Kris was speechless. Every nerve from the top of her head to the bottom of her toes had simultaneously fired, leaving her unable to move or speak. She managed a smile. She turned on her side facing Jenna and put her arm and leg over her. She rested her head on Jenna’s shoulder while Jenna caressed her arm.
“Do you really expect me to believe that was your first time with a woman?”
Jenna put her arm around Kris and pulled her closer. “I’ve imagined being with you several times.” She kissed the top of her head.
Kris still couldn’t believe she was lying in bed with Jenna. Everything had happened so fast. Just this morning she had been stressed about Jenna moving out, but now Jenna was asking her to move in.
She looked up into Jenna’s eyes. “Yes, I’d love to move in with you.”
Jenna’s heart skipped a beat, and she kissed Kris. For the first time in her life she felt like she was whole and complete. She had always felt like there was something missing, a void that she could never fill herself. The void was love, and Kris made her feel loved.
Jenna’s phone rang. It was the hospital again. They needed her to come in. By the time she ended the phone call, Kris was already dressed and gathered her shirt and bra from the floor along with the buttons that had been ripped off.
“I’m so sorry, Kris. I have to go. Hopefully, I’ll be back soon.”
Kris went into Jenna’s closet to get another shirt for Jenna. “Here, put this one on.” She tossed her a T-shirt.
Jenna slipped the shirt over her head. “Will you still be here when I get back?”
Kris thought about it for a second. “I’m not sure. I need to go home and pick up a few things first. This is strange, right? Me kind of living in two houses at the same time? Maybe I can try getting out of the lease early, or just pay it off and go ahead and move. Don’t worry about it. You need to get going. I’ll figure it out later.”
Jenna wanted to come home to find Kris there, but she understood. She had just taken Kris's life and turned it upside down in a matter of a few hours. She looked down at the bed and smiled. Pillows were thrown around. The cover was half on the floor. She grabbed Kris by the waist and pulled her in close. She gave her a soft kiss on the lips. “I know we just met last year, but I love you.”
“I love you too.”
They held hands as they walked out the door together.
Chapter Nineteen
Jenna arrived at the hospital still floating on cloud nine. She hated to leave Kris so soon, but Kris knew what she was getting into after living together for the past few months. Kris needed some time to think about what had just happened and process her own thoughts. Knowing her, she was already on the phone with Allie giving her a hard time about keeping her in the dark.
Jenna walked by the nurse’s station and entered Carl’s room. He was her favorite patient. She had met him when she first started working at the hospital. At first, he had given her a hard time. He gave everyone a hard time. She put up with his sarcasm because she saw a scared teddy bear who was afraid of dying. She chipped away at his hard outer shell until he let her in. His situation was pretty bad, but she was determined to do whatever she could to help him.
She was also fond of his wife, Wendy. She had no idea how Wendy had dealt with stubborn and cranky Carl all those years, but they had a special love. The same love she wanted to share with Kris. She knew all about Carl and his entire family, and they knew more about her than any of her other patients did.
She pushed open the door to Carl’s room. “How are you feeling tonight?” He didn’t look his best.
Carl waved his hand in the air. “Not too bad, Doc, but one of the nurses said I need more tests. I think the hospital just wants more insurance money.”
She put her hand on Wendy’s shoulder. “No, we just enjoy your cheerfulness so much that we love keeping you around. Your personality lights up the entire hospital.”
He rolled his eyes and crossed his arms. “So, what is it this time?”
She looked over his chart. “Well, we just want to run a few tests to make sure we aren’t missing anything. You know, the usual. The good news is you’re feeling okay, so I’m not going to rush into anything yet. I think we’ll run the tests and keep an eye on you for now.”
He raised his eyebrow and cocked his head to the side. “You look different, Doc.”
She looked down and realized she was still in her jeans and T-shirt. She pulled her white coat around her. “Sorry, I was on a date when the hospital called. I wanted to come in and make sure you were behaving yourself, and to give you my special VIP treatment.”
He smirked. “Looks like I’m not the only one getting VIP treatment. You have something on the side of your neck.”
Jenna reached her hand up to the right side of her neck, but didn’t feel anything. She moved her hand to the left side and blushed as she peeled a rose petal away that had been stuck to her sk
in.
Wendy stood up and put her arm around Carl. “We’ll be okay. You go on and get back to your date.”
Jenna opened the door to leave. “You two can’t get rid of me that easy. I’ll be back to check on you again later.”
She walked back to her office to wait for the results to come back. At this hour, the lab shouldn’t be busy but didn't have a full staff either. She wanted to call Kris, but she didn’t want to seem clingy. She made a deal with herself to wait at least an hour before calling.
She changed into scrubs and went to the on-call room to lie down. Just as soon as she had shut her eyes, a Code Blue was announced. Her heart sank. Her first thought was Carl, but she realized it wasn’t his room.
She was the first doctor to arrive and immediately took charge. She had a great team working with her, but they couldn’t bring the patient back. She wasn’t familiar with the patient or his history, but it took a toll on her. He was young, and she had to tell his wife.
She couldn’t relax afterwards, so she called Kris.
Kris answered on the third ring. “Checking up on me already?”
“I just miss you, and I needed to hear your voice. What have you been up to?”
“Thinking about you, of course, and the sex.”
“Mmm, me too. Anything else besides that?”
“I’m still trying to figure out the best way to deal with my lease. How’s it going there?”
“I lost a patient. Well, he wasn’t one of mine, but I worked on him.”
“I’m so sorry, Jenna. You did your best, but you can’t save everyone.”
“I know, but it’s always hard. It reminds me how precious and short life is.”
“It is. I miss you.”
“I miss you too. I’ll talk to you later.”
By the time she finished her phone call with Kris, she felt a little better. She knew it would be useless to try and go back to sleep, so she went down to the nurse’s lounge to get coffee. She was on good terms with all the nurses. Some of the doctors talked down to them, but she knew the nurses were the ones who kept the place running.
The lounge was empty and so was the coffee pot. She searched, but she couldn’t find the supplies to make more. She sat down and flipped through some magazines on the table. Most of them were gossip rags, nothing that interested her. She couldn’t relax, and she couldn’t go home. She decided to see if Carl’s tests were back yet.
She walked down the hall back to her office to check for the results on her computer. Finally, some good news. Carl’s results were back, and his values had improved. Her phone rang and it was security. They informed her Kris was at the entrance looking for her. She told them to send her up to her office.
Jenna’s heartbeat quickened. Even after everything that had happened today, Kris still gave her butterflies. Soon afterwards, there was a light knock on the door. She opened the door to find Kris holding two cups of coffee.
Jenna placed the cups on her desk. “Thank you, thank you, thank you. You have no idea how bad I needed this.”
Kris laughed. “It sounds like you’re more happy to see the coffee than to see me.”
Jenna sat down on the edge of her desk and pulled Kris to her. “Never. What brings you by?”
Seeing Jenna in her scrubs and white coat at the hospital brought back memories of the first time they met in the ER. “I was worried about you after the phone call and I really, really…” she kissed Jenna on the lips, “…missed you.”
Jenna stood up. “I just have to speak to a patient, but I will be right back. I should be able to go home after that.” She took a long sip of her coffee, and then kissed Kris on the cheek.
She knocked on the door and entered Carl’s room. “Good news. I have your results back and everything looks like it’s coming back down to normal.” She gave them a thumbs up. “So, that means no surgery for you right now.”
Wendy stood up and gave her a hug. Carl smiled. “Thanks, Doc, I feel better. Now, get out of here and finish your date.”
Jenna placed her hand on his arm. “Don’t worry about me. My date showed up here at the hospital to check up on me. I have people who worry about me too, just like I worry about you.”
He waved his hand towards the door. “Well, go on then. Don’t keep the man waiting.”
Jenna bit her lip. She didn’t have a man waiting on her. She had a sexy, gorgeous, kind, intelligent, loving woman in her office. Not a man. She opened her mouth to correct him, but decided against it even though it was Carl.
“You two behave, and don’t do anything I wouldn’t do.” She winked and shut the door.
She walked over to the nurse’s station to input a few orders for Carl. The nurses were whispering about something, but dispersed when they saw her walking towards them.
Linda, the gossip queen of all the nurses, couldn’t restrain herself. “Who’s the woman in your office?”
She turned to face Linda. Linda as well as a few other nurses leaned towards her expecting to hear a secret. “Give me a minute first, please.”
She completed the orders and turned back around to find all the nurses still gathered around her. “We’re dating.”
The nurses gasped. Linda nudged her shoulder. “Is she the reason you’ve turned everyone else down?”
Jenna nodded her head.
“I didn’t know you dated women.”
Jenna grinned. “Neither did I.”
“Well, good for you. She’s hot.”
Jenna blushed. “Thanks. I’ll introduce her to everyone if you all promise to behave.”
She went back to her office and found Kris waiting. “Are you ready to get out of here?”
Kris stood up and stretched. “Yes, I am.” She walked into the hallway with Jenna and noticed the nurses staring at them.
Jenna put her hand on the small of Kris's back and guided her towards the onlookers. “Everyone, this is Kris. If you will excuse us, we have a date to finish. I’m going home now. I’ll be back in a few days after vacation. I have to rest up before dealing with you ladies again.” She waved to everyone.
“I don’t think you’ll be doing much resting, Doctor,” Linda said.
Jenna turned to leave. “Goodnight, ladies, and you too, Linda.”
Jenna walked Kris out to the parking lot. “Thanks for coming here tonight. It meant a lot to me.”
Kris leaned up against Jenna’s car. “It looks like I might have to stop by unannounced more often. Should I be jealous?”
Jenna opened her car door. “Oh, please, they’re the ones jealous of me because I have you. Linda thinks you’re hot. So, what should we do now?”
“Follow me to your house.”
Jenna leaned towards Kris. “You meant to say our house.”
***
They arrived back at their new home. Jenna grabbed Kris's hand as they walked up the steps to the porch. They sat on the porch swing holding hands and discussing how to proceed with Kris moving all her things in.
They moved the conversation inside, and Jenna rubbed her stomach. “I think I have worked up an appetite again.”
Kris walked into the kitchen. “I had a sandwich already. We have some pizza left over from dinner.”
“Sounds great. I’ll take a slice of cold pizza and a beer.” She slipped her shoes off.
Kris returned with a slice of pizza and a beer. “I can heat it up if you want me to.”
Jenna shook her head. She folded the slice in half and took a huge bite. “Want some?”
Kris opened the bottle. “No thanks, but I’ll take a sip of your beer.” She rested her feet in Jenna’s lap.
Jenna finished the pizza in a few bites and then finished off the beer with Kris. She rubbed her neck. It had been a long day. She had closed on a house, moved in, confessed her love to Kris, made love to a woman for the first time, gone in to the hospital, and had a Code Blue.
Kris stood up. “Sit down on the floor.” She lit a few candles and turned off the lights. She
kneeled behind Jenna and started massaging her neck. “Just relax and let me take care of you for once.”
Jenna closed her eyes and tried to relax. She concentrated on Kris's fingers caressing and kneading her neck muscles. She could feel the tension releasing from her body.
Kris reached down and lifted Jenna’s shirt up over her shoulders. Jenna tried to look back, but she made her turn back around. She worked her way down to Jenna’s shoulders. She whispered into Jenna’s ear. “Relax.” She continued to massage Jenna’s neck and shoulders, feeling the tense muscles start to loosen up.
Kris brushed Jenna’s hair to one side and kissed her neck. Jenna arched her head back enough to catch Kris's lips with her own and their tongues met. When they stopped for air, Kris pushed Jenna down to the floor onto her back. She straddled Jenna’s hips and lifted off her own shirt. Jenna tried to sit up, but she pushed her back down to the floor again.
Kris looked down at Jenna. She looked so innocent and beautiful staring up at her, but she knew from personal experience that Jenna was far from being shy and innocent. A brief thought of anxiety ran through her mind. She realized she was going to be the first woman to make love to Jenna. Her anxiety left almost as fast as it had entered. She loved Jenna and she knew Jenna loved her, and that’s all that mattered.
Jenna picked up on Kris’s hesitation, but she was a woman full of desire who wasn’t about to let that get in the way. “It’s not nice to keep a lady waiting.”
Kris snapped out of her thoughts and back to reality. She ran her finger around Jenna’s belly button piercing. She leaned down and kissed Jenna on the lips. It started out soft and gentle, but soon boiled over into a steamy, hot, passionate kiss.
Jenna ran her fingers and nails over Kris's back. She had never wanted anything or anyone as much as she wanted her right now. She had a burning desire raging within her. It was love mixed with lust.
Kris pulled away and tried to slow things down a little. She softly kissed Jenna’s lips and brushed Jenna’s hair back. She couldn’t believe this was her life now. She felt like the luckiest person on earth. She caressed Jenna’s face and neck. “I love you, Jenna.”
