Lovely Revenge

“Oh. What are you doing up anyway? I thought you’d be passed out for the rest of the evening.” I glanced at the clock radio on my bedside table. 11:57 p.m. it said.

“I was passed out for the last five hours, but now I’m awake again. And I keep thinking of what happened. I didn’t wake you I hope?”

“No, no. I can’t fall asleep. I went to bed like two hours ago, but I can’t seem to fall asleep either. All I think about is how strange what happened to us is. Now it feels unreal, like I just dreamed it.”

“I agree. It feels like a totally bizarre nightmare. Mostly bad but also good in part.”

The way he’d said those last words made a rush of excitement skitter through me, like a lovely, warm breeze. I knew exactly what he meant because that was just how I felt, too. It was mostly bad but also good. I wanted to hear him spell it out to me, though, and I told him so.

“Well,” he said slowly, “if it wasn’t for these thugs abducting us, I doubt I’d ever get to do what I did to you yesterday.”

I felt my lips spread into a little smile. “Yes, you’re probably right about that. I would have just kept hating you forever and ever and never get to enjoy all the skills you possess…” I couldn’t stop myself from giggling. “It would have been a terrible shame.”

“So you enjoyed it as much as I liked doing it then,” he said in that drowsy voice that was so incredibly sexy, not really asking.

  “Uh-huh…”

“Imagine I could be there right now and do the same things to you… Oh, God. Just the thought of that turns me on so much…”

He wasn’t the only one who was getting turned on. I could already feel myself getting wet from the images that were forming in my head.

“What are you wearing?” he asked, breathing harder. “Or are you sleeping naked?”

I quickly decided that I would pretend I was half naked. Remembering that Gabi and Nick were in my living room and that my walls were pretty thin, I lowered my voice into a whisper, “I’m wearing panties only.”

  “What kind of panties?”

“White lace ones. String and very see-through ones…” I giggled again at how suggestive I’d made myself sound.

  “Oh, God…” Chase moaned.

  “Wait. Are you touching yourself?”

“You’re damn right I am. And you’re getting me very big and hard by telling me what you’re wearing. I’m imagining you in your bed wearing only tiny white lace panties and it’s a very sexy picture…”

I knew what I was about to say was completely spoiling the mood, but I had to ask it. “Are you sure you should be doing that in your condition, Chase? I mean, you were after all dead for a while today.”

He started laughing. “Yeah, I was, but I can assure you, having a hard-on and jerking off while thinking about and hearing that sweet voice of yours is not gonna kill me again. Far from it. Honestly, I think I might die from boredom, so let’s please continue, sweetheart. You were doing so great.”

I chuckled myself, sure it was okay then. “How about I remove my white lace panties?”

“I was waiting for you to suggest that… Please take them off.”

I put the phone aside and wriggled out of my panties. “Okay, they’re off.”

“Good girl. Are you touching yourself yet?”

Oh, God, could I really do that when Gabi and Nick were in the room right next to me? And while being on Gabi’s cell phone? I decided that I could; it wasn’t like I needed more than one hand to do what I wanted to. What Chase wanted me to do. The thought of him telling me to do naughty things to myself made me even wetter. My breathing picked up as my free hand slipped between my legs, which I spread wide under the covers.

“Oh, yeah,” Chase muttered in my ear, “your hand is down there now, isn’t it? And it feels good, doesn’t it.” It was clear that he was touching himself as much as I was. The image of his hand stroking that big cock of his only made me hotter. It was a beautiful sight.

“Yeah,” I mumbled back as I kept touching myself. I was so wet I had to wipe my hand off on the sheet to get better friction over my clit. I couldn’t stop a moan from leaving me then.

“Oh, God , that’s so sexy,” Chase whispered. “Do you have a vibrator somewhere?”

“I do,” I replied, eagerly awaiting his next question and request.

  “Where is it?”

I felt my cheeks go red, but I still answered. “In my nightstand…” Which was the truth.

“Oh, you naughty, naughty girl. Do you use it often?”

I didn’t really—hardly at all actually—but I knew that wasn’t what Chase wanted to hear. And it wasn’t what I wanted to tell him either in that moment. So I said, “Yes. Every night before I go to sleep.”

He moaned in response. Then, “I want you to use it right now. Can you do that for me?”

“I’d love to,” I said, enjoying how much I knew this was turning him on.

I reached for the drawer in my nightstand and removed the vibrator inside it.

“I have it in my hand,” I told Chase.

“How big is it?” he asked, his voice slow and full of excitement.

“It’s almost as big as you are.” Which was also the truth. It was a pretty big vibrator. That I should have made use of way more often.

  “Turn it on,” he ordered.

I did as he wanted and the thing started vibrating in my hand. Fortunately, it wasn’t very loud or there was no way I’d keep it on with Gabi and Nick being on the other side of the wall.

“It’s on,” I whispered into the phone.

“Place it against your clit. I know you’re gonna like that…”

I did as he told me and he was right; I really liked that. It felt incredible. I couldn’t believe that I couldn’t even remember the last time I’d used this thing. It was great.

“Spread your legs wide and keep massaging your clit with the vibrator,” he ordered. I did exactly what he said. Oh, God, how I liked it when he told me what to do in that smooth voice that became increasingly decisive… I could feel an orgasm building in my stomach as I kept moving the vibrator against my wetness, heat gathering quickly there.

“How does it feel, Elisa?” he asked.

“So good,” I mumbled, barely able to talk I was so turned on.

“Are you all wet and ready for me now?” he continued in that same urgent, sexy voice.

I gasped as I made myself say yes.

“Spread your legs as wide as you can and bury it inside you now,” he ordered.

“Okay,” I managed and did what he said. The feeling of the slick, moving vibrator filling me as I pushed it inside myself was amazing.

“Keep moving it in and out slowly,” he whispered, moaning himself. “Oh, God, I’m so close to coming, Elisa… Can you come with me?”

I kept moving the buzzing vibrator in and out of myself, unable to answer I was so close to coming. All I could do was gasp in response, hoping it was clear to Chase just how close I was to release.

“Yes, Elisa, that’s it. Keep doing what you’re doing. It feels good, doesn’t it?”

I just moaned in response, about to step over that golden edge any moment now I was so close to coming. Any moment now I would disappear into that shimmery, all-encompassing world of pleasure. My stomach tightened and my toes began to curl. And then it happened, the intensity of it literally breathtaking. As I let the glorious feeling expand and overtake me, own me completely, I couldn’t stop myself from moaning out loud and I no longer cared if Gabi and Nick could hear all the noise I was making. I gasped Chase’s name into the phone as the orgasm reached its peak, “Oh, Chase. Oh, God…”

Chase moaned loudly in response and I knew he had reached that cusp and thrown himself over it as well and was flying in ecstasy right then. The sheer knowledge of that threw me back into that cloud of heaven and I felt myself reach an even higher level of pleasure. Keeping my eyes shut, I slowed the motion of the vibrator and let the orgasm begin its
downward phase. When I finally landed, I pulled it out and threw it on the bed beside me, feeling utterly content and sleepy.

Careful not to touch Gabi’s phone with my pleasure hand, I adjusted it next to my ear.

“Are you still alive?” I asked Chase when he didn’t say anything on his side of the line.

He chuckled. “Yeah, and I’m feeling better than I can remember having felt in a long time. Though, of course, it would have been even nicer if you were lying here beside me, but I guess beggars can’t be choosers, huh? I got what I wanted. How was it for you?”

I smiled. “I have to admit it was pretty awesome. Phone sex might become my new favorite pastime…”

“Not if I’m there with you in bed every night. You’re my wife after all.”

“Oh, right. I forgot about that. Well, then I’m just gonna let you take care of me instead.”

  “With pleasure, baby. With pleasure.”

  Chapter Fifteen

Another knock on my bedroom door woke me up the next day. I wasn’t as sprightly when I told the person “come in” this time around. The sun was bursting through the half-closed blinds in my window, which suggested that it was late morning already, or later even. My bedroom door opened and Gabi was sticking in her pretty head again, her honey brown curls pulled back into another ponytail.

“Hey, isn’t it time to get up now?” she asked with a bright smile. “It’s past noon already and Chase just called and said they’ll discharge him from the hospital.”

I rubbed the sleep out of my eyes and pushed myself up into a sitting position. “Really? They will? When did he call?”

“Like five minutes ago. So we should go pick him up from the hospital, don’t you think?”

“Absolutely. Give me a couple of minutes and I’ll be right out.”

“Sure,” Gabi said, pulling out her head from my bedroom and closing the door.

I stretched my arms over my head and yawned big. Then yesterday’s phone adventure with Chase returned to me and I could feel my cheeks heat.

Well, obviously Gabi didn’t have any problems finding her phone where I’d put it yesterday, I thought as I closed my eyes in embarrassment.

When Chase and I hung up sometime around one last night, I had sneaked out of my bedroom and into the bathroom at the other side of the hallway to clean the vibrator and myself, as well as make sure Gabi’s phone was as in as good a shape as it had been when I’d first gotten it from her.

As I left the bathroom and peeked into my living room, I noticed that it seemed like Gabi and Nick were asleep on the sofa bed. Not wanting to wake them up, I tiptoed up to the sofa bed and placed the phone on the coffee table beside it. If they had heard me at any point, they did a great job of acting like they were both passed out, because neither of them so much as flinched as I moved around only inches away from them. Gabi should find her phone as soon as she woke up in the morning. Taking one last look at them before I padded back to my bedroom, I thought yet again how great it would be if they actually were asleep as that meant they hadn’t heard the commotion I had caused earlier.

If not, there wasn’t much I could say to make them think it had been anything else but what it had been. I might as well forget it had even happened. It wasn’t like I regretted it anyway.

I grinned to myself as I pushed myself out of bed now and put on a pair of shorts that I’d found in my drawer. As I left my bedroom, I almost bumped into Nick.

“Oops, sorry,” he said and slipped around me as agilely as a tiger. Like yesterday when we had dinner at my place, he wasn’t wearing his baseball cap but was displaying his brown crew cut. The stubble on his square jaw had grown even longer, bordering on a very thin beard now. He’d told me he’d keep it growing for as long as he was in the city as that made him even more unrecognizable, having always been clean-shaven while undercover.

So much for him going for the rough, manly look…

“And good morning,” he added. “Or maybe that should be good afternoon.” The friendly twinkle in his gold-flecked blue eyes took the edge off his words.

I held out my palms and shrugged. “What can I say? I was really, really tired…” I bit my tongue before I could add that men have a way of tiring you out even when they’re not with you. Whether Nick had heard what I’d been up to in my bedroom last night or not, it would still surely create an awkward moment.

  “I’ll say,” he said.

I threw a glance into my kitchen that was at the end of the hallway in which we both were standing. “Did you guys have breakfast yet? I hope you helped yourself to whatever you wanted in my fridge and cabinets.”

“Thanks, but both Gabi and I have a thing for street coffee and donuts,” he said. “So when I woke up, I went down to get us some. There are a couple more donuts left if you want some. Boston crème and double chocolate.” He pointed to a brown paper bag that sat on the granite island in my kitchen. “Donuts and coffee from the street carts are the things I miss most from this city.”

I nodded, my mouth watering at the thought of donuts and coffee. “Yeah, I have to admit that I’m pretty into them myself. Let me just take a quick shower and then we can head to the hospital and I can pick up a coffee on the way to wash them down with.”

  “Sounds like a good plan.”

Half an hour later, the three of us were on our way to the Lenox Hill Hospital to pick up Chase, I chewing on donuts while sipping hot coffee. It being so warm today, another beautiful spring day, I was wearing a pair of jean shorts and a short-sleeved, yellow cotton top. Not wanting to waste time drying my hair, I had only combed it after washing it and it was now air-drying. I had applied some makeup too. In addition to my usual mascara and eyeliner, I had spent several minutes trying to cover up the big bruise that took up a big space on my right cheekbone with concealer and powder.

When I had finished eating, I called the detectives who’d been put on my case to find out if there had been any new developments. The only thing I found out was that they had spoken to the doorman on duty the day of my kidnapping and that they did not think he had anything to do with the case. He was still at the station being interrogated, but so far everything pointed to him being innocent.

I was the first one out of the cab when we reached the hospital. I couldn’t wait another minute until I could see Chase to be sure that he was okay and alive. My worry was irrational as Nick had just spoken to the guys who were watching him, and they had confirmed that Chase was sitting in the hospital cafeteria with them, eating a late lunch. Still, I wouldn’t be able to relax until I had seen him with my own eyes.

The hospital was less busy than yesterday, so it didn’t take long for us to make our way to the cafeteria. And there he sat between Nick’s two buddies, one small-ish guy with a red crew cut and a potato nose and a black guy with a shaved head and a goatee. Chase got to his feet as soon as he saw me. For someone who’d been shot and dead for a brief moment only yesterday, he looked amazingly energetic and alive. He was wearing a pair of blue jeans, a green V-neck sweater and sneakers. The clothes fit him so well, I couldn’t help but wonder if they were his personal ones or if they’d been purchased by Nick’s buddies. It was probably the latter. Chase held out his arms to me and I slipped into them. Out of the corner of my eye, I could see that Nick and Gabi went up to Nick’s buddies and greeted them.

Chase hugged me close and neither of us said anything, just stood there for a few seconds, enjoying the moment of being together again. It was funny how incredibly connected I now felt to Chase, a person who’d been on my least desired people list only three days ago. Life had a strange way of bringing people together.

He pulled away first and took a look at me. He narrowed his eyes as he took in my face. “Wow, if I didn’t know that you’d been dropped on your head by that thug, I’d think someone beat you up pretty badly. That bruise is looking scary.”

“Even with all the makeup I’ve put on it?” Automatically, my hand went up to the right side of
my face and I touched the place where the bruise was. I had worked so hard to cover it up. The area was still tender, but better than yesterday when I had barely been able to wash that part of my face, it had bothered me so much. Sleeping on it had been impossible.

Chase’s eyes widened. “You have makeup on it?”

I tsk’ed and took a step away from him. “Okay, now I’m leaving. You’re making me feel like I look like a total monster.” So very unlike the way he’d made me feel only a few hours ago… My old annoyance with Chase returned.

He quickly grabbed me and pulled me back to him. “Sweetheart, I’m only kidding with you, but I guess it wasn’t one of my better jokes. You did a great job of covering it up. You can barely tell it’s there. Really.” His face went dark. “It’s only making me mad that it’s there at all, and that I couldn’t do anything to stop that bastard from treating you the way he did.”

His words instantly made me melt and I leaned my head against his shoulder. “There wasn’t anything you could do, unless you wanted to get a bullet in your kneecap, remember?” I whispered.

He let out a short laugh and I felt his warm breath against my head. “Yeah, that’s probably true. And I guess we shouldn’t be too disappointed. I did get to break his nose there in the end. That’s at least something to be happy about.”

I gazed up at him, into his eyes that seemed so much warmer each time I looked into them. “Yep, it’s definitely something to be happy about. I hope it hurt like hell.”

  “Oh, I’m sure it did.”

We exchanged pleased grins. But my lips soon shrunk back into a more serious expression. “How are you feeling?”

“Ever since you cheered me up yesterday, I’ve been feeling great …”

“Shh,” I hissed, remembering how it was very likely that both Nick and Gabi had heard my moans last night. The last thing I wanted to do was remind them about them.

Chase leaned his head so that his lips ended up by my ear and whispered, “Oh, I’m sorry. Don’t worry, I’ll just tell them that you sang for me or something. As sweet as that voice of yours is, you must be a great singer.”
