Rewriting Destiny (Forsaken Sinners MC #1)

Page 24

by Shelly Morgan

She turns her head and stares at the wall in front of her. Does she not want children? Is she upset that I’m the one who told her and not the other way around? I reach over and force her to look at me, my fingers on her chin. “Talk to me, Baby Girl. What’s going on inside that beautiful head of yours?”

When she still doesn’t say anything, I stand up and carefully move her over so I can lie down beside her. “Are you okay with this?” I really don’t know if she even wants kids. We’ve never talked about it before, not even when we were younger.

I wipe a stray piece of her hair away from her face and hold her. Whatever she needs from me, I will make sure she gets.

Finally, she looks up at me. “I don’t know if I want kids, Zane. I mean, what if I’m a horrible mother?” I can see tears building in her eyes and pray that they never fall. It brings me to my knees whenever she cries.

“Baby, you will be an amazing mother. You will love our baby fiercely and you will do anything for him, just like you do for everyone else. So of course you will be an amazing mother.” I hope she can see how much I mean what I said. It’s a shock to her right now, as it is for me, but hopefully she will get used to the idea. I will spend every second of every day showing her how great she will be with our child and how happy she has made me.

“But I don’t even remember my own mother. How can I be any good at this when I have nothing to base anything off of?”

This woman will never understand how amazing she is. “Dani, you may not have grown up with your mother, but you were raised by one of the best women in the world. Your grandmother loved you with all her heart and took such good care of you. Look at the woman you grew up to be. You’ll be perfect. It’s me we should be worried about corrupting our son.” That gets a small laugh out of her, which is what I was hoping for, even though I am a little worried myself.

She leans in and gives me a peck on the lips and smiles. “I love you, Zane.”

I wipe the tears from her face and kiss her softly one more time. “I love you too, Baby Girl.”

  Danielle

I was released this morning after they monitored me overnight and did an ultrasound to check on the baby. I still can’t believe I’m pregnant and have no idea how it happened, but I guess it doesn’t matter.

Zane seems happy about having a baby and even though I’m a little scared, I am happy as well. He thinks it’s a boy and honestly, so do I. I can picture a little boy running around the clubhouse, causing trouble just like his father.

I don’t know what comes next, but I do know this—whatever destiny throws our way, we will get through it together. Life is good right now and I know it will only get better from here. It goes to show, if you stop letting destiny walk all over you, you will always come out on top. Live your own life and chose your own path—rewriting destiny.

John—Thank you for being amazing to me and standing beside me through everything. I love you for everything you are, but for also allowing me to be who I am and encouraging me to live out my dream. You will never know what your love and support mean to me.

To my parents—You both are the best. I know most children say that about their parents, but you both really are the best there is. You always know what to say to me and your support and love is never-ending. I love you both!

To my dad—You needed your own special line. You are my superhero. You have always been the person I looked up to most and who I was always wanted to be proud of me. I have so many amazing memories of all the things I got to do with you as a child and still continue to do. I’ve always been Daddy’s Little Girl, but I wouldn’t want it any other way. So thank you, Daddy, for always being there for me and being the best father a girl could ever ask for or dream of having. I love you!

To my beta readers—Cupcake, Snapshot, and Squirrel. You ladies are amazing. I can honestly say that this story would not be what it is today if it weren’t for you three.   About the Author

I grew up in a small town in Iowa. I have 2 older sisters and amazing parents. Growing up, I was always a daddy’s girl, hanging out with him in the garage, fishing, and building stuff. I loved to play softball and swimming, but reading, telling stories, and writing were my passion, even at a young age. I took a break from writing for a while, but you could always find me with a book in my hand.

I have three children–two boys and a girl. They are my whole world. Even when I’m having the worst day ever, they brighten up my day and make me smile.

A few years ago, there was this story that would always play out in my head and no matter how many times I went through it, from beginning to end, it would never fade. So I decided to put it on paper. I didn’t plan on publishing it, but when it was almost done, a friend asked to read it. She said it was a story that needed to be shared. And that’s what started my writing career.

I love all genres of books, and even though I started with writing MC Romance, I have a whole book of ideas, so you can expect more from me than just MC, though romance is in my blood.

Even though I currently work two jobs, my ultimate dream is to become a full time author. I want to be able to spend my days filling pages with stories. I want to be the reason people find a reason to smile or laugh from lines on a page. Reading a book allows me to live in someone else’s shoes, even if only for a few minutes. It’s a way to leave my life and troubles behind and I want to be help others do that as well.
