  Glycemic Index of Common Foods

  A food’s glycemic index value indicates the speed and ease with which it raises blood glucose levels. Higher numbers indicate a fast, sharp rise in blood sugar. Lower numbers indicate a prolonged, gradual rise in blood sugar.
