About the Authors
Breaking the bonds of slavery takes more than just physical freedom, which is something newly freed slave Samuel is about to discover.
Unicorn shifter Samuel has spent most of his life as a slave for the red dragons, being passed from household to household like the property her is. When he starts working in Bart’s mansion he expects it to be more of the same—instead he finds himself seeing more and more glimpses of the future, a future that does not include being owned. A future he never dared dream of.
Lion shifter Sasha loves his life in Haven and the semi-retirement it allows him. Being a paid mercenary was both exciting and lucrative, but he is ready to grow roots. When an elderly unicorn calls, begging him to help her captive grandson he decides to take one last case. He saw what the red dragons did to his friends’ mate, Grey, and his conscience won’t allow him to sit back and let it happen to another even if it means coming out of semi-retirement and risking the life he’s been building.,
Dragon shifter Rob lives the high life complete with penthouse suite, a treasure any dragon would be envious of, and a job that gives him the adventure he craves and the downtime he relishes. It is the life he always dreamed of, yet completely unfulfilling. When his on-again off-again lover and coworker Sasha asks him to help on one last mission together, Rob is powerless to say anything but yes. They set out to rescue the elderly unicorn’s grandson and end up finding the one thing they were both missing in their lives—their omega.
When Samuel escapes his master’s mansion and runs into not one but two shifters there to rescue him, he knows instantly that it is more than just luck. Fate is on his side.
Fate has sent him his true mates, soon giving him the gift of fatherhood. Unfortunately, that doesn’t mean he has his instant happy ever after. There are people to save, emotional wounds to heal, and a new life to build—one that for the first time is based on what he wants for himself.
**The Lion, the Dragon, and Their Unicorn Omega is a sweet MMM MPREG shifter romance with some knotty heat. It is book two in The Unicorn Omega series, and while it stands alone, it does contain spoilers from book one.**

Chapter One
Sasha
A full shift at The Tavern had my back aching by the time I got home. I’d gone soft after being home too long, no missions for me.
I pulled my T-shirt off and threw it on the kitchen barstool before grabbing a bottle of beer from the fridge. Filling in for Grey while he recovered from giving birth took up some of my time, but not enough of it. Sitting in this house reminded me of a cage.
I didn’t fucking do cages.
Taking a pull of the beer, I noticed out the corner of my eye that the light on my answering machine was blinking. The adrenaline pumped into my veins. At one time, I lived for those calls—saving people, killing the bad guys…the works.
It sated me in a way everyday life didn’t.
Yeah, I’d semi-retired, but I wasn’t dead.
I reached out and pressed the button, ready to hear a deep voice, one of my old cronies or maybe a friend who needed a hand. Instead, the voice, frail and fragile, begged for me to help her. I listened to the damned thing three times, trying to make out exactly what she was saying between sobs and sniffles until I heard the most important things.
Grandson…unicorn…help…alone…suffering.
That’s all I needed to know.
Even though it was late at night, I called the old woman and made her calm down enough to give me the details. Apparently, the red dragons were kidnapping again. Another unicorn. And I knew from hearing stories about what Grey had gone through what the dragons would do to the unicorn in their care.
“What’s his name, ma’am?”
I heard her wiping her nose and sniffling. “Samuel. His name is Samuel. Can you help me? I don’t have any money.”
Of course she didn’t. But sometimes, circumstances made that irrelevant. We were cold-blooded mercenaries, but we still had souls. Well…pieces of them, anyway.
“Let me see what I can do. I’ll let you know.”
I walked around with a second beer in one hand and a cell phone in the other, making calls to my regular mission partners. The first three didn’t answer, and the rest were busy.
There was one left to call, but damn it all, I didn’t want to call him.
He and I had been hot and cold since we’d met. Either we were ripping each other’s clothes off or weren’t speaking. There was no in-between. I knew there was something between us, but somehow the timing was always off—he was too busy or I was too self-centered.
I blew out a heavy breath before dialing his number.
“Sasha,” he answered, his tone low and deep, sending a rumble through my body. That voice could turn me on in an instant.
“Rob. You busy?”
He chuckled. “Not right now. Enjoying my time off. You’ve got something?”
“I’ve got a job. Red dragons.”
Rob growled on the other end. “I hate those bastards. What’d they do now?”
“Not over the phone. Meet at our regular place?”
“Why don’t you just come over here?”
I laughed at his remark. “Because I’m afraid that’s all I’ll do over there—come. We need to discuss this job.”
“Mmm…” He groaned over the line. I could almost feel his fiery breath over the back of my neck. “We could do
both. As I remember, we work and play well together.”
I reached down to adjust my dick, already throbbing at the thought of being with Rob again. We had a chemistry that wouldn’t be denied.
“Job first then let’s see what happens.”
“Whatever you say, Sasha. Come up to the city. I’ll be waiting.”
He hung up before letting me answer. Damn him. He knew I couldn’t resist him any more than he could deny me.
I went to the closet and pulled a holster and two Berettas out and strapped them on, just in case. I didn’t often leave Haven, but when I did, I knew there were enemies just waiting for me to slip up. I’d killed some of their friends, their brothers, their mates—they’d deserved it at the time, but that didn’t stop them from wanting to seek revenge.
Over the holster, I pulled on a long-sleeved black shirt covering my old tribe’s tattoos, and I slid my feet into a pair of black boots.
I smiled at my reflection in the mirror as I brushed my teeth, knowing Rob would be waiting for a whole lot more than a briefing.
I would give it to him, of course, but we liked to play the game.
He wasn’t ready for a relationship, and I knew he still played the field.
I was still too selfish and set in my ways for a mate.
My lion knew we should be with him. He’d wanted to claim Rob after we’d made love the first time, but I knew better.
Still, the urge was there whenever we were together to have him as my own.
I was a sucker, pure and simple.
“Here we go.” I said, grabbing my keys and heading out the door.
~~
The other reason Rob and I couldn’t be together stared me in the face as I arrived at the penthouse where he lived in the city atop the tallest high-rise in sight. The doorman had checked a list before admitting me to the massive smoked glass-and-granite structure. I supposed I should have been honored, rather than annoyed, to have to go through the song and dance every time I visited. The man acted as though he’d never seen me before, but how many guys like me even sought to enter the hallowed halls of the super-rich?
His fucking doorbell was gold—not plated, but gold. He lived for these things—tuxedos, art shows, and buying out restaurants for dates. That was Rob.
He was a true dragon who loved to wallow in his treasure.
His “hoard.”
I rolled my eyes and pressed the doorbell.
“Come in,” he called from inside the apartment. He really should be more careful about who he told to come in considering what he did as a hobby.
I opened the heavy door and stepped inside, closing it behind me.
“You always did look good in black.” His voice told me he stood not three feet behind me. I sucked in a breath at his words.
I had to admit he was right. I did look sick in black.
“Thanks. I’m surprised you are free tonight. Not entertaining or opening any new restaurants?”
“Oh, come now, Sasha. You know I always make time for you.”
I turned around, steeling myself against his charms, but knowing it was of no use. “We should talk about the unicorn.”
His eyebrows popped up. “Unicorn? I heard you were in a little scuffle before over a unicorn. Same one?”
“No,” I answered. “This is a different one. I got the message tonight.”
“So, he was recently kidnapped?”
I shrugged. “From what I can gather from the grandmother, he was taken when he was ten. He’s about twenty-six now. The way she sounded over the phone, someone tipped her off he was still alive. She’d given up on finding him.”
He squinted. “Who tipped her off?”
“She won’t tell.”
“Pictures?” He took a few steps toward me, and I knew it was all over. The dragon eyed me like I was his last meal.
“Nope. She hasn’t seen him since he was a boy.”
Rob stepped to the side near the wall and kicked his shoes off. That simple gesture had my heart hammering and my breaths shallow. He reached down and took off his socks.
“We should really rest up tonight so we can start early in the morning. I’m assuming you know where this unicorn is?”
I nodded. I would’ve loved to answer, but my mouth had gone dry.
“Well, then, we are free tonight. I’ve missed my big, bad lion man.” Rob approached me and put both of his hands on my pecs. “You got new ones,” he remarked, pushing my shirt off and bringing his fingers to the center and pulling on the rings in my nipples.
The piercings were my undoing.
I’d gotten them done for him one night when we were drunk and he mentioned he liked a male with pierced nipples.
“Kiss me,” he whispered.
Chapter Two
Rob
“It’s been too long, Sasha,” I growled before our lips crashed together in a kiss with no gentleness, only the desperation of horniness and a longing I didn’t want to think about. Funny, a dragon growling at a lion. But he brought that out in me. Grasping the hem of his shirt, I lifted it and slipped my index fingers into those new rings. Bigger than the old ones, but always a reminder he’d gotten a piercing for me.
His thing was tats.
I’d made a sort of promise to get one when he did the piercing, but no sooner had he climbed out of the chair than the mission went to hell and we had to fly out within the hour. But I never broke a promise. Even a sort of one.
His arms wound around my back, and I gave a sharp tug on the rings before releasing them to shove him against the wall and grab for his belt buckle. The kiss held, our tongues twining, teeth lightly nipping in an almost-drawing-blood way, the suction holding our faces together like I’d never experienced with anyone else.
Parting to breathe, we sucked in air and then went at it again. Clothes fell off us as if by magic, and, a minute later, our cocks were bumping, hard and ready.
“Bedroom,” I gasped, and he shook his head.
“No time. Here.”
“You got it.” Dragging him with me, I strode toward the gold leather daybed positioned in front of the wall of west-facing windows. Outside, the sun slipped between the two high rises across the street, bathing us in golden flames. A little wrestling for dominance—two alphas made it inevitable—ended up with me on my back on the bed, my cock gripped in the fist of the lion shifter. Damn predator always wanted to get something in his mouth.
But he gave the best head I’d ever had, so I only protested until he sucked me into the blazing cavern of his mouth and worked me with lips, teeth, and tongue until I couldn’t stand it anymore. Or thought I couldn’t. He knew just when I was close and backed off, laving the head and squeezing my sac with just enough pressure to hold me on the edge. Then back to it, licking, sucking, up and down, dragging the edge of his teeth—I’d say fangs, but it pissed him off—along my most sensitive skin.
“You have to…stop.” I grabbed his shoulders, but he shrugged me way. “Or at least turn around.”
He watched my face as he bobbed up and down, saliva and pre-cum blending to shine his lips. But he didn’t stop until I grabbed a fistful of hair and dragged him up to kiss me again. The light had reddened as the sun descended, a whole other kind of fire, and I burned at least as hot.
Tasting myself on him, something I never liked with any other man, only fueled my hunger. But I lapped at his mouth as if starving. I hadn’t kissed anyone since him. “Turn. Around,” I demanded, breaking the kiss to speak the words. This time he did, knees to either side of my head, dick right where I wanted it. Well, one of the places I wanted it. It would do for now. “Anyone in the building across the street can see this show,” I said before closing my lips over the bulbous head. Not that they could. We were the tallest close by but it added to the fun.
He groaned. Big showoff loved the idea, although he protested otherwise. “Then let’s make it worth their while to watch.” He wrapped his arms around my hips and went back to giving me the best b
low job ever while I did my best to reciprocate. We grabbed and writhed and landed on the floor…on the window side of the daybed because the lion controlled our fall.
After a long time apart, our self-control was lacking, and, within a few minutes of giving it our best, my balls tightened in warning and, just as I felt the surge of cum pouring into his mouth, his was jetting down my throat, thick, creamy ribbons of saltiness. Dusk closed in while we lay, head to tail, hugging each other as if we’d never let go.
Finally, the cold glass against my hip began to feel more important than lying there forever, and I disentangled myself and pushed to my feet then held out a hand for Sasha.
He accepted it and rose, a good deal more gracefully than I had. “Did I say hello?”
I chuckled. “I don’t remember. Did you eat yet?” We weren’t done by a long sight, but a man had to keep up his strength. “My housekeeper left us something in the oven.”
“Lead on,” he said, stretching in the way only the big cats can, every muscle lengthening, a relaxed control about him. I’d seen him do that two seconds before leaping onto our quarry, before entering battles that had even my balls tucking up.
It made me want to fuck him right now.
Or be fucked by him. Another thing that happened only with Sasha the lion. No other dicks got near my ass. My dragon, my completely dominant golden dragon insisted he was our mate, but we were chalk and cheese, night and day, country cat and city reptile. It could never work.
But you’d never guess he lived in a small town where the closest thing to high society was happy hour at the Tavern. He stalked into my kitchen and cracked open the oven, drawing in a long breath.
“Gilda is the best. Did she know I was on my way?”
I shook my head. “How did you know? That lady loves you.” My middle-aged employee, who treated me like her son, insisting I eat my vegetables and cooking healthy food, always prepared decadent dishes when Sasha came. He was apparently her favorite son.
