Her blue eyes met mine, her lips brushing against my mouth. The kiss short and sweet, but telling me, she was trying to find her way back to me.
“I don’t have my shit together Case all I do is laugh loud enough so no one can see the truth. I’m a fucked-up mess, and every day I wonder why you are here with me.”
*
Thorn’s confession lets me see the man beneath the mask. His truth causing my fear to fade away as something took its place. It wasn’t just lust. It was more than just hiding from the dark. I was too afraid to say it out loud. I didn’t want to believe I was falling. Merely just a whisper but it sounded like a heartbeat of truth pounding in my head. Suddenly having him in my bed wasn’t the thing I was afraid of, wanting to keep him there was.
“I’m here because I choose you, Thorn. I came back for you. I am not afraid of the things you hide. I don’t care about the mess. All I want is you.”
There was only now. There was only him. Slipping from his hold, I tugged him to back down to me. Thorn and I were a perfect match. His body covering mine feeling like it was always meant to be there.
“Can I have you?” My words catching him off guard as I watched his face change the words sinking in as he dropped his lips back down to mine.
“For as long as you want me.” He answered.
The moment Thorn kissed me I knew that I was lost. Forever with him was what I wanted but I would start with tonight.
“There is only one problem,” I complained.
My fingers slid into the waistband of his boxers. “These need to go.” I gave a push, and Thorn lifted his body to give me room to get them off. He hesitated for a moment before setting down on top of me.
“Give me something new to remember,” I demanded.
*
Case’s words a command. The one I would gladly follow. My hands and mouth each taking a turn to memorize every curve, to learn her body the way she learned mine. Collecting every moan and every whimper she made telling me she was enjoying my touch.
I slid a finger into her, then another.
“Thorn you’re trying to kill me, aren’t you?” Her words breathless. Her hips pressing down wanting to take me deeper.
“Not tonight darling.” I crooned.
Moving my fingers in and out, my cock growing jealous of the warm and welcoming heat. Her need matched mine, and I loved the way her hips met my fingers rhythm. Withdrawing my fingers, I let my cock take their place as I nudged the entrance of her pussy. I stilled before going any further. Her eyes meeting mine, the color of them darkening to an even deeper sapphire. Lust rolling through them like a dark sky broken only by the light of the stars.
Shifting I let my cock sink into her slowly never taking my eyes off of hers, loving the way I could see every small emotion crossing her face. She moved her hips to pull me deeper, my cock buried to the hilt, finding heaven between her thighs. I could barely think straight too lost inside of her.
*
Thorn was wrong. He must be trying to kill me. I didn’t think I could survive the feeling of him deep inside me. My whole body on overload, every nerve ending sending sparks of pleasure shooting through my body. His lips catching mine, stealing the gasp of surprise when he started to move. Each thrust turning the sparks into flames. I was burning alive, the fire twisting me into something beautiful as the flames crept even higher. A baptism by fire, an awakening of my body and soul burning brilliantly beneath him, a supernova in a field of lifeless stars. Coming fast and hard, his name the only thing left before as I burned out leaving nothing but ashes in the dark.
*
Case let go, and I followed. My cock enjoying one last thrust before giving in and sending me into mind-numbing bliss. The world turning black as I came, dragging me into her darkness, swallowing me whole. A kiss is what brought me back to earth, Case’s lips pressing gently against mine. The world slowly fading back into color as I pulled back so I could see Case’s face. Her skin flushing pink, a perfect match to the bra and panties that now gracing my floor. Normally I would be trying to get the girl out as fast as possible, but with Case I wished it would last forever, wanting to keep her under me, her lips against my skin and my cock buried deep inside her. I moved, shifting my weight and she tightened around me.
“I’m not ready to let you go.” Case breathed, her eyes wide as I felt her racing heartbeat pulsing against my skin.
“I’m not going anywhere, sweetheart. Don’t worry.” The slight panic on her face slipping away as she took a breath.
“Sorry. I’m not usually this clingy. It’s just that’s you’re the first to umm, you know.” Her blush grew darker, the pink fading into red.
Shyness registered on Case’s face as her words hit home and understanding dawned on me.
“Never?” I asked raising an eyebrow.
“No. Is that weird? I hadn’t been with many others before I was taken and then well you know what happened there.” Case went silent. The past trying to get its claws to pull her back in.
“It’s not weird just surprising.” I kissed her, pulling her back to me. “I maybe shouldn’t say this, but I’m glad it was me. The thought of others bringing you pleasure makes want to find them and use them for target practice.” I confessed.
“You’re crazy Thorn.” Her words falling in-between bouts of laughter. Her fingers brushing against my cheeks before pulling me close.
“I’m glad it was you too.” She admitted as her lips dusted over mine tenderly.
My heart stopped. I opened my mouth wanting to tell her everything, but I fell silent. By staying quiet, I was letting her believe I was some hero. The way she looked at me made me want to believe it too.
Chapter Eight
The sound of my phone jolted me awake. Case was wrapped up in my arms, so close I could feel every breath. Her body tucked tight against mine without any fear. Sleepy eyes opened seeking mine.
“Aren’t you going to get that?” She asked her voice sleepy.
“I like where I am better. Whoever is calling can wait.” The call ended, and I smiled. Leaning down for a kiss only for the ringing to start up again.
“Fuck. Someone is going to get their ass kicked.” I plucked the phone off of the nightstand and answered.
“Who the fuck are you and why are you calling me so early?” I bellowed.
“Good morning to you too.” Miranda’s voice greeted my ear.
“Shit. I’m sorry Miranda. What’s up?”
Miranda hesitated, and I knew something was wrong.
“What happened?” I asked softly as my heart caught in my throat.
“They took her.” Miranda’s voice cracked.
“They took who?” I swallowed, trying to get the words past the lump that had formed.
“Selena,” Miranda had whispered before the sound of sobs took over the line.
My hand opened, dropping the phone to the floor. The sound of a fist slamming into the wall was dulled by rush of blood screaming past my ears.
*
It all happened so fast. The thud of the phone hitting the ground. The sound of Thorn’s fist hitting the wall, bone, and wood colliding with gruesome results. Blood blooming as his knuckles split open. His face a mask of disbelief and rage. Jumping from the bed, I grabbed the phone from the floor and heard Miranda’s sobs on the other end.
“Thorn?” Miranda sobbed, his name falling in between the gasps on the other end.
“What’s going on?” I asked gently.
Miranda’s sobs slowed down before she spoke again, “Case? Where’s Thorn?”
“He and the wall had a little disagreement,” I answered my eyes finding Thorn cradling his hand his eyes glassy as he stared at nothing. I tried to remain calm, but it was almost impossible with the sound of Miranda’s sobs and Thorn’s vacant expression.
“He took it about as well as Val.” Miranda’s voice filled back up with pain. Pure fear spread through my body. Val and Thorn were fighting walls while Miranda sounded
like she was on the verge of another breakdown. There was one voice missing from this conversation. One voice that would cause everyone to fall apart if something had happened to her.
“Where is Selena?” I hesitated almost not wanting to know the answer.
“She was taken Case.”
“By who? Her ex? Was he the one that took her?” I mentally thought of ways to make that man disappear. Every one of them violent and painful.
“How do you know about Law?” I heard Miranda’s surprise.
“Selena mentioned him the last time she was here. She wouldn’t say much just he was back. It seemed like he was giving her trouble. Thorn offered to get rid of him.”
“It’s not him. Law is here. He’s raising hell at the club demanding to help find her and telling us it’s our fault.”
“It is your fault. If she had been with me, she would have been safe.” A new voice hollered from the background.
Val’s voice came next, shouting, “She would have been safe? As safe as she was the last time you were supposed to protect her? She carries that scar because you fucked up. You left her and turned your back. It was me that took care of her. Where the fuck were you?”
“Just stop you two. None of this is helping.” Miranda yelled. The shrill sound of breaking glass echoed through the phone. I imagined the bar being torn apart as Law and Val kicked the shit out of each other.
“We are on our way. We will find her Miranda, and we will make sure the ones that took Selena pay. No one fucks with our family.” Hanging up the phone, I turned my attention to back Thorn. He was still just sitting on the floor, not moving.
“Thorn we have to go.” Dropping to the floor beside him I took his face in my hands. He looked at me, and I forced myself to keep it together. Nothing but pain was etched across his features, and I wished I could take it all away, wanting to bring back the boy that had been lying beside me only minutes before.
“You don’t have do this alone. I’m right here with you. We will find Selena, and we will send the monsters that took her to back hell where they belong.” I vowed to try to sound confident in the midst of chaos.
Thorn blinked before slamming his lips against mine. All traces of sweetness vanishing as he kissed me like a man drowning. Desperate he tried to find something to hold on too. I offered him no resistance my lips catching his pain and fear.
“Thank you.” He whispered breaking the kiss. My heart swelled within my chest; maybe I had given him back a little something of what he had given me. That at this moment I was able to take care of him.
“Let’s get your hand taken care of first.” I insisted.
Thorn looked down like he had forgotten all about it.
Glancing at the wall I smiled, “I think you won.”
“I always win.” Thorn declared.
“I’m counting on it,” I replied.
Chapter Nine
The drive back to the club was spent in silence. Thoughts of Selena and what could be happening to her sending me into kill mode. I wanted blood. I wanted vengeance. Most importantly I wanted her safe and back where she belonged.
Case was the thread keeping me together, bandaging my hand making sure it was taken care of before we left. I hadn’t felt it. I had done much worse to myself over the years. The only thing I had felt was my heart. It moved with her, its beat soaring every time she touched me. It had been so long since anyone cared if I bled. Every spilt knuckle treated like a bullet, her hands gentle, reminding me of what it was like to have someone care about you.
Parking I took a breath.
“Together remember?” Case said as her hand wound around mine.
Nodding and together, we walked into Bound and Bared. All hell had broken loose. The usually pristine club a disaster. Bar stools destroyed, tossed like broken toys on the floor. The white marble of the bar dotted with traces of red.
Val sat with Miranda, his hand wrapped and his face looking like it had seen better days. The other man didn’t look any better. I had to assume this was the untouchable Law. He and Val glared at each other but for the moment weren’t kicking each other’s asses.
“They are both on time out,” Miranda said weakly. Her eyes rimmed in red. “You got here just in time. I was worried they were going to rip this place apart then what would have Selena come back to? She loves this place.” Miranda’s eyes filled with tears. They hovered, swimming inside her pale green eyes before slipping down her cheeks. Val was at her side in a second. His arms going around her, wiping the tears from her cheeks. The gesture surprising me. It was something he would never have done a few months ago.
“We will find her,” Val assured kissing her cheek. Miranda nodded, her body leaning into Val’s without thought.
Case stepped next to me and Law’s eyes widened with appreciation as he looked her over.
“Don’t you fucking look at her like that.” Stepping in front of Case I blocked his view.
“I am admiring how beautiful she is and trying to figure out how a woman like that ended with Val’s lap dog.”
I saw red. My vision blurring as I took a step toward Law before something stopped me.
“Thorn don’t. He’s not worth it.” Case pointed out as her hand rested on top of my chest.
“She’s smart too. I bet she would make an excellent sub. I would love to teach you my dear, but I’m taken.” Law quipped as a smile spread across his features. Even bloody the man was a fucking asshole.
I took another step forward, but Case’s arm landed on my chest stopping me once again.
“I got this baby.” Case boasted. I nodded as her arm dropped away from my chest and she went straight for Law. Wearing nothing but smile as her knee connected with the space between his legs. Law had been clueless of her intentions, and he doubled over, clutching his balls.
“Don’t ever speak to me like that again or you will find it won’t be my knee that ends up jammed into your balls.” Case sang as she leaned down to dust off her knee.
Staring at Case like I had never seen her before realizing my baby was hiding some serious skills. I made a mental note not to fuck with her.
Law winced before righting himself he now looked at Case with respect. His hands raising in mock a mock gesture of surrender, “I take it back you would be a dom. Truce?”
“For now.” Case answered as she placed her hand in mine, “Now if all of you are done with your pissing contest we need to get to work. Selena’s out there, and we don’t know who has her or what they are doing to her. We need to work together, and when she’s back home safe and sound, then you can kick the shit out of each other. Got it?”
“Where did you come from?” Val asking question we were all thinking. “I like it.”
Suddenly my phone rang as warning bells rang in my head. My eyes darted around the room knowing that most of the people that called me were in the room with me at the moment. My hand shook slightly as I answered it, putting it on speaker as I heard a familiar voice on the other end.
“Thorn?” Selena’s voice echoed in my ear.
“Selena.” I stuttered, my name the only thing I heard before a new voice took over.
“Thorn. I would say that it is nice to hear your voice again, but that would be a lie.” A male voice drawled on the other end of the phone.
“What have you done with Selena?” I snarled.
“Don’t worry we are taking good care of your girlfriend.” Law snickering before a full laugh roared through him.
The laughter dying out as a loud thud sounded.
“I must admit it takes a lot to make her scream. Do it again. This time harder.”
This time a harder thud echoed and the sound of Selena’s scream caused my heart to break inside my chest.
“DON’T HURT HER YOU SICK BASTARD! I PROMISE YOU WILL PAY FOR WHAT YOU ARE DOING TO HER!” I howled, wishing I could rip him apart through the fucking phone.
“Threatening me will only make her suffer more. I suggest you do what you are
told if you don’t want pieces of her mailed back to you.”
Forcing myself to remain calm I tried to stay in control. One wrong move and I knew Marcus would keep his promise.
“What do you want?” I asked trying to keep my voice calm and steady.
“I want what you owe me, Thorn. Did you think you could steal from me and get away without any repercussions? There is always a price. If you refuse me, then I’ll take your girlfriend as payment.”
I clenched my teeth, nausea rolling through me before replying, “When and where?”
“That’s a good boy. You have two days. I’ll call you and tell you where, for now I’m going to enjoy my new toy.”
The phone went dead. Opening my mouth, I tried to explain, but there was nothing to say. Selena had been taken because of me. I knew what was coming.
The first punch landed across my jaw, the force of it sent my body rocking backward. The next landing in stomach, the third my cheek.
Suddenly a blow came from the other side, Law’s fist catching me off guard. I guess he wanted a piece too. The blows continuing until I lost track of who was throwing the punches. Case screams for them to stop background like a sick soundtrack to the beating. I wished I could tell it was okay, that wanted the pain. That I needed it. Selena’s scream of pain twisting over and over inside mind and I didn’t think I could ever escape it.
A gunshot broke through the blows. Everything stopped. Swaying on my feet, I desperately tried to remain upright.
“Just put the gun down Case okay?” Val’s voice said behind me.
How the hell did Case get a gun? My vision cloudy as my eyes were trying to seal themselves shut but still, I managed to turn around and find Case. She was holding the gun; the barrel aimed directly at Val and Law.
