The two men duked it out on the floor until Amber came running after hearing the commotion.

“Austin! Matt! What’s going on?” Amber yelled and ran into the room and tried to pull the two men apart. Matthew didn’t want to risk Amber getting hurt, so he immediately pulled away from Austin. Austin on the other hand wasn’t ready for that fight to end, so he kept taking swings at Matthew. “Stop!” Amber yelled frightened. She didn’t want to be in between these two muscular men, but she didn’t want her husband and brother-in-law fighting like this.

“Come on!” Austin said as blood trickled from his lips down to his disgruntled white shirt. Matthew would have gladly continued to pound in his brother’s face, but unlike Austin, Matthew had respect for his sister-in-law.

“No,” Matthew said and turned to look at Amber. “I’m sorry for all of this,” Matthew whispered with sad eyes. He wasn’t sorry that he and Austin had fought, he was sorry for Amber being married to a loser like Austin.

“Why?” Amber asked looking up at Matthew. Matthew looked over his shoulder at Austin who was wiping the blood off of his chin with his sleeve.

“Tell your wife before Dana does.” Matthew said and made his way out of the room. Before Matthew made it to the front door he heard Amber say “Who’s Dana?”

  *****

“Stop Matt, you know this makes me feel self-conscious.” Dana said laughing as Matthew looked at her now blooming stomach and kissed it. Dana was now three months pregnant and Matthew promised to be there for her. Dana told her father about it and even though he was surprised, he was happy to be a grandfather. Matthew told Dana that she didn’t have anything to worry about, and so far he was keeping his promise. Matthew had spent every day with Dana since she confided in him that day in his office, and she never knew that she could fall in love so hard with the brother of the man who hurt her so bad.

“I don’t understand how you can look at me this way when I’m pregnant by your brother.” Dana whispered as Matthew kissed down her naked body. Matthew looked up at Dana and frowned.

“Dana, this is my baby. What happened in the past is in the past, but this is my child and I love this child and you.” Dana blushed deeply at this and found that she couldn’t find the right words to say to that. Matthew moved his face up to Dana’s then and deeply kissed her. Matthew explored her mouth deeply and made sure not to put too much body weight on her as he entered her.

“Ah!” Dana moaned as Matthew started to make love to her. He was gentle and more loving than Austin had ever been. Dana’s hormones had been all out of whack lately and she was starting to crave Matthew more and more with every day that passed. Matthew’s tongue explored Dana’s mouth thoroughly and his erection grew bigger when Dana’s hips started to match his rhythm.

“You like it?” Matthew asked as he watched Dana’s eyes roll in the back of her head. Dana blinked quickly and a rosy blush tinted her cheeks.

“Yeah… it’s so good.” Dana said and clenched her eyes shut. Her body became incredibly sensitive since she’d been pregnant. Matthew looked down at Dana and quickly took his length out of her, much to Dana’s disbelief. Dana was about to beg Matthew not to stop, but he quickly moved his mouth and buried his face in between her legs. “AH!” Dana cried out and held Matthew’s head in place as she came. “Sorry… that was fast.” Dana said surprised that Matthew had manage to make her come so fast. Matthew smiled and shook his head.

“It’s alright, baby. I wanted to make you come. I want to make you feel good because I love you.” Matthew said sincerely and Dana smiled back at him.

“I love you too.” Matthew moved back to Dana’s entrance and entered her again as he pressed his lips to hers and allowed her to taste herself. Right here with this man was where she belonged. Matthew had been her saint these past three months. After Dana had quit Connors and Associates, he helped her find a job at another prestigious law firm where she became an Attorney. After Matthew did that for her, she couldn’t let them lose contact and they eventually became a couple. Matthew told her that he had fought Austin and that Austin eventually told his wife about him cheating on her and getting Dana pregnant. Amber wasn’t having that and kicked him out of the house and now they were in the process of getting a divorce. Austin was incredibly wealthy so nine times out of ten he was going to have to cough up a lot of his money and property to Amber.

“You feel so amazing,” Matthew groaned as he pounded in and out of Dana. Her juices allowed his length to slide in and out of her with ease and Dana couldn’t believe it when Matthew brought her over the edge again. “Heh, me too.” Matthew murmured and bit Dana’s collarbone as he unleashed his love into her. Matthew shivered and landed on the side of Dana and rested his hand on her growing belly. He loved this woman more than anything and even though the child she was carrying wasn’t biologically his, he was going to love this child with all of his might and his child’s mother.

“You’re everything to me,” Dana whispered exhausted from her orgasm. Matthew didn’t have to do everything that he’s done for her, but the fact that he did made Dana love him more. Matthew looked over at Dana and smiled.

“You’re everything to me, Dana. It was truly love at first sight.” Matthew said sincerely. After everything that happened with Austin, Dana was shocked that there were men like Matthew in the world still. Her child was lucky to have a father like this. Dana knew that Matthew would be there for her no matter what and she knew for a fact that she’d never let this man go.

  Chapter 1

Sophie Ward had only been working at PNJ Holdings for two months when the first mention of the Christmas party was made. The problem was that Sophie had never been the Christmas Party type of girl, in fact, Sophie had never been any type of company party girl. The idea of spending hours after work, suffering through small talk with people she didn't particularly like during the daytime, was unappealing at best. Still, as the new girl in the office, she had little option – her presence was mandatory. The single saving grace in the whole situation was the small scrolled post script at the bottom of her invitation reading ‘Plus One.’

“You’ll come with me, right?” She batted her long thick eyelashes. Ashley wrinkled her nose.

“Honestly, it sounds kind of lame…do you really have to go?”

“Yeah, apparently, as the new girl, if I don't show up then they’ll think I’m a snob.” Sophie said, tucking her long dark hair behind her ear.

“Seriously? They told you that?” Ashley asked as she stirred her third packet of artificial sweetener in to her coffee cup.

“Not in so many words, but it was definitely implied.” Ashley said.

“That’s just wrong. I mean, sure, you work
there, but it's not as though they're holding this little soirée during business hours. What you do in your own time should be up to you!”

“I agree but it doesn’t matter - will you come with me or not?” Sophie asked.

Ashley sighed heavily. “I guess…” She said after a pause. “Open bar, right?”

“Yes.” Sophie said slightly begrudgingly. As if helping out her best friend wasn't enough of a reason for Ashley to be her plus one?

“Okay, I'm in.” Ashley said. “What are we supposed to wear to this little get together? Anything special?”

“Hell if I know! It didn't say on the invitation, so I'm guessing just regular party sort of dress. I figure I’ll wear that black one I wore for Carmen’s birthday party last year. I might as well get another occasion out of the damn thing for what it cost.” Sophie said. Ashley pondered this for a moment.

“Can I borrow your red dress then? The only other thing I have is black too and I don't want to walk in looking like twinsies or anything…” She said. Sophie nodded without hesitation. She was pretty much forcing Ashley to go to her corporate party with her, the least she could do was give her a dress to wear.

“Sure, the shoes that match it should be right under it in the closet too.” Sophie offered.

“You're a mind reader!” Ashley said, giving Sophie a grin. “Thanks.” She took a sip of her coffee and looked at Sophie thoughtfully. “So, are there any cute guys that you haven't told me about that we might run in to at this party?”

“Umm…” Sophie mentally scrolled through her coworkers before shaking her head. “Not really, no.” She said. Ashley lifted an eyebrow.

“Not really?” She asked. “Not really sounds more like ‘well yes there are, but I want them for myself.” Sophie laughed weakly. She hadn't meant to give herself away so easily, but the truth was that the one cute guy she had her eye on wasn't one of her coworkers at all.

  It was her boss.

“Nah…there are some cute guys working in the building next door, but most of the guys in our building are pretty old.” Sophie said, which was the truth…for the most part.

“Eh, great…although, old isn't always bad so long as they have the money to take care me.” Ashley said, flashing a grin. Sophie shook her head.

“All the money in the world couldn't convince me to be with a guy. I mean, it's nice to have a guy that can take care of you and all, but in the end you're still going to have to sleep with him. There has to be some kind of attraction there.” Sophie said. Ashley shrugged.

“Hey, a cock is a cock as far as I'm concerned…besides, you can always do it doggy style, then you don't have to look at him.” Ashley said. Sophie was stunned at how Ashley could be intimate with someone without any kind of connection. She thought Ashley was more talk than anything and if it actually came down to it, that Ashley wouldn't be able to handle a sugar daddy relationship.

  “Not me.” Sophie said simply.

“More rich old guy cock for me!” Ashley said with a laugh. “What time is this thing anyway?”

  “Thursday at seven.” Sophie said.

“Alright, I'll be there. Want me to come to your place and we will ride there together? Or do you want to come to mine?” Ashley asked.

“You come to my place and I'll drive. I know how excited you are for that free bar!” Sophie said.

“We could take a cab if you want to drink too?” Ashley offered.

“Yeah…maybe…” Sophie wasn't sure whether she would be drinking or not. Losing her inhibitions around people she would have to see again was probably not a good thing.

“You know you'll end up drinking once you're there. We may as well just get the cab and save having to go back for the car later.” Ashley said.

“Yeah, you're right. It'll probably be best to have a couple of drinks to loosen up anyway. Just don't let me drink too much okay? I don't want to end up making a fool of myself in front of your coworkers.”

“You got it!” Ashley said. “Just as long as you let me drink as much free booze as humanly possible and make sure I get home okay afterwards…actually, scratch that, just let me drink the booze.”

“Just as long as I can pretend that I don’t know you if you get out of hand.” Sophie said with a grin.

  “Deal!”

  Chapter 2

Sophie pulled her long straight hair back in to a messy bun. For most women it was a look that was limited to yoga pants and a baggy tee, but Sophie could pull it off in anything – even an evening dress. She was stunning with and without makeup. While checking her small clutch purse for some extra band aids, Ashley knocked on the door.

“Coming! Just a sec!” Sophie shouted, shoving her lipstick in to the overcrowded clutch and rushing to the door. As usual, Ashley was running late and the cab was already waiting for them outside.

“Oohhh you look cute!” Ashley said as Sophie stepped out and pulled the door of her apartment shut.

“Thanks! We’re running late so the cab’s already here.” Sophie jerked her head towards a parking space close by.

“Sorry, I had some trouble with the shoes.” Ashley said as they walked towards the cab.

  “Are they okay?” Sophie asked.

“Yeah, I had to strategically place a few band aids inside them to stop them rubbing, that's what took me so long, but they’re good now.” Ashley said, pulling the cab door open and holding it for Sophie. Sophie slid inside, trying to ignore the smell of patchouli.

“Headed for a night out?” The driver asked her, looking at her in the rearview mirror.

“Yeah; an office party.” Sophie said. The driver laughed.

“You don't seem all that excited.” He said. This time Ashley laughed.

“If you saw who she worked with you’d understand why.” She said. The driver nodded knowingly.

“So where is it that we’re headed to tonight?” He asked, putting the car in drive.

“573 Great Armond Avenue. PNJ Holdings.” Sophie said. The driver’s eyes widened at the mention of the company name. He glanced back and forth between the road and Sophie’s face in the rearview mirror.

“You look pretty young to be working there, no?” He asked. Before Sophie could answer for herself, Ashley jumped in.

“She’s just the token pretty girl. They dangle her in front of all the guys who work there as an incentive to work harder.” She said with a laugh. Sophie’s mouth fell open.

“That’s so not true!” She said, glaring at Ashley before looking back to the driver. “I'm a Systems Analyst.” The driver nodded again, although it was clear from the look on his face that he had no idea what a systems analyst was, let alone what one did. Usually Sophie would have clarified, but tonight she didn't feel like it so she let him sit simmer in his ignorance.

“What about you?” The driver asked, looking up to Ashley in the mirror.

“Me? I'm a waitress at the moment…you know, the whole brown shorts and tight orange t-shirt deal?” Ashley said. It took the cabbie a minute to realize where Ashley was referring to but when he did, he smiled broadly and she smiled back flirtatiously. Sophie reached across and pinched her gently on the thigh. Ashley frowned at her before pouting dramatically. Sophie should have known by now what a flirt Ashley was, but the idea of flirting with a cabbie that they didn't know seemed a little too dangerous.

“So…this office party…” The cabbie said suggestively. Sophie knew what he was going for, he was angling for an invitation, but even if she had one to give, she wasn't about to extend it.

“Yeah…” Ashley said. “It's gonna be pretty lame but I plan on getting drunk off my ass.” The cabbie laughed.

“Well, maybe when it's over you can give me a call and I’ll take you to a party that's not so lame…” He said. Sophie reached over and pinched Ashley again, this time a little harder than before.

“OW!” Ashley glared at Sophie and then looked back at the cabbie. “Sure, give me your number and I'll call you when we get out.” Sh
e said defiantly.

As the cabbie rattled off his cell and Ashley punched the numbers in to her cell phone, Sophie couldn't help but wonder what it was that had attracted her to Ashley in the first place. They had little in common and certainly didn't have the same personalities. There was no denying though, that Ashley had been there for her since Sophie could remember. The two had attended grade school together and had been best friends ever since. There had to be something that held their friendship together, she thought to herself, but at this very moment Sophie couldn't think of what it was.

When the cab pulled up outside the mirrored glass building the cabbie let out a long whistle as he looked the sky scraper up and down.

“Bet you get a pretty good salary working there, huh?” He said, craning his neck to look back at Sophie.

“Yeah…” She said, throwing a twenty-dollar bill over the seat. “Keep the change.” She reached behind her and grabbed Ashley by the wrist, pulling her out of the cab behind her.

“Hey, thanks! And don't forget to call me after!” The cabbie called after them just before Sophie slammed the car door. Ashley turned and waved to the cabbie, letting him know that she hadn't forgotten. Sophie gave her wrist one last tug before Ashley pulled out of her grasp.

“You are way too uptight!” Ashley said, rubbing her wrist.
