  Much of the book was written while finally trying to plan and organise a permanent move to the Black Isle. This has proved as challenging as major life-changes always do (don't be surprised if an unreliable house-buyer appears as a victim in my next book…). But I'd like to express my thanks and appreciation to all those on the Black Isle and in the surrounding area who've shown us typical hospitality and friendship while we've been trying to make this happen. And I hope they'll forgive me for yet again turning their beautiful landscape into a hot-bed of fictional serial killing.
