El Masri was taken out of the ring, screaming obscenities at the policemen who held him. Diaz looked lost for words, then like a deer in the headlights as the press turned their attention to him. He eventually pushed his way through them, following the clog of people around El Masri, dumbfounded and alone.

Finally, the cameras returned to Owen, and it was as if the last few minutes hadn’t even happened; the real story was still in the ring. The press wanted a picture with the title, and Owen brought Robert, Fiona, and Tegan in for the photo.

“Can we just get a picture of you and the belt, not your team, Champ?”

“This is my family. I’m nothing without them. The title belongs to all of us.”

The picture taken was the one that was splashed across the internet within minutes. Social media blew up with the news that a battered, bloodied Owen Gasnier, surrounded by his family, had done the impossible. Two undefeated fighters had entered the ring. Now, at the end of the night, only one man could lay claim to that undefeated status: The Undisputed Heavyweight Champion. The Gasnier Era had begun.

The next opponent, the next challenge, wasn’t known yet. But he would be ready, they all would, just as long as they stuck together and remembered that unified they could accomplish anything.

Owen, Tegan, and Fiona will return later in the series. But, before that, here’s a little snippet of the next instalment in The Undisputed Series.

  PREFACE:

Ava exhaled her doubts and fears; inhaled her confidence. She sat on the toilet of the locker room, having just lost the protein meal she had consumed a few hours earlier. Her padded hands came together just before wiping at her sweat riddled forehead. Strangely, in this room with the door closed, she could almost block out the roar of the crowd outside. Almost.

“I don’t want to hear any more of this fighting nonsense.”

She stood up and rolled her fists and neck, readying herself for her biggest opportunity to do something she had always dreamed. Fight in the Cage. All the pain and sweat, all for this one moment. This one shot. Now, she would see what she was made of.

She went out into the main dressing room and looked up as the building shook from a huge cheer. The second to last match had just ended. Any minute now, she would be asked to make her way to the entrance and get ready for her walk out along the ramp. All the times she’d whispered to herself to calm down, and she still had to tell herself yet again as she took a knee and bowed her head.

“I’m going to put a stop to this freak show once and for all, young lady!”

She nodded in acknowledgment of the official that had come in to tell her what she already knew: it was time. Ava followed the official out but had to excuse herself and go back.

She walked into the room and focused on the bench in the middle of the room where her mouth guard lay. She had forgotten to pick up the most important piece of equipment she owned. “Jesus, girl, get a grip,” she whispered to herself as she marched back out to face her destiny. “What is wrong with you? Get your head in the game.”

“You’re a disgrace to this family.”

  Author Bio

I love writing adult paranormal fiction. Vampires, werewolves, ghosts... Oh, my. I’ve been writing since I was 11 but I’ve always been a dreamer… often getting caught staring off into space as I created stories in my mind.

One of my stories, Night Walker (Undeadly Secrets Series Book 1), won the 2017 Golden Stake Award at the International Vampire Film and Arts Festival held in Transylvania annually. I’m still quite chuffed about walking away with it after facing some great contenders.

The Fourth book in what some refer to as The Undeadly Secrets Saga released in early 2018. I also have a short story thriller series, The Independents, and will be branching out into other genres in the coming year.

My favourite activities include spending time with family, dragging my forever patient wife to watch my beloved St George Illawarra Dragons, popping into the movies for the latest blockbusters, going to the gym for my dream body. Or just a body. Anything, really.

My beautiful wife and I welcomed our first child into the world in 2017. My fans have declared him the Prince of Speerverse and claim he seems to take after me in his want to build the tension as high as possible—making us and our loved ones wait 3 long days for him to make his entrance. My wife and I live with the love of our lives in Sydney, Australia: the setting for the majority of my works.
