“Staci Wanamaker. Remember her?”
“What the fuck is she doing on the island?”
“No clue. But I’m more concerned about why she’s with Paolo, and why we didn’t know he’d come back here last night or this morning. Or how they know each other, and why they were quite cozy at the snack bar.”
“Who is Staci Wanamaker?” asked Giselle. “That name sounds familiar for some reason.”
She might have heard what happened, but he didn’t see how. Unless Asa had told her parents. “She works in sales or marketing—can’t remember which—for Pony Tails, one of our hostile competitors. They’ve tried more than once to take us over. She interviewed for a job, claiming she wanted no part of their barracuda tactics, but Asa didn’t hire her because she tried to seduce him during the interview.”
“Are you kidding me?”
“I wish I was.”
Giselle tilted her head slightly. “What does she look like?”
“Tall, blonde, hazel eyes with a hard look in them. Too thin. Dressed really tacky for allegedly being an executive on a job interview with a competitor.”
At Kade’s description of Staci, a subtle change came over Giselle’s face that made the hair on the back of Elliot’s neck prickle. “When was her interview?”
“Right before Cinco de Mayo, so about three months ago,” said Elliot. “Why?”
Giselle glanced around and leaned close to both men, lowering her voice. “Because I swear that’s who Norm was with in Lady of The Night every night for like a week straight around the middle of May.”
“Are you sure?” asked Kade, his voice sharp.
“Not entirely. I mean I was never introduced to her. But I knew who Norm was, of course, from school. I’ll ask my parents. They’ll probably remember her, and might know if it was Staci. I only remember her because Kirstie and I were laughing at them. They were all over each other, and we couldn’t believe Norm had found a woman to go out with him more than once. Then one day she stopped coming in with him, which didn’t surprise us. When did you ever see him out with anyone long term? We didn’t think anything of it at the time, except that no one seemed to know who she was.”
Norm had been in the same grade as Giselle in school, but Elliot remembered him. He’d been just as slimy and unpopular then as he was now. But he was more concerned about the fact that Staci had stayed on the island that long and he’d never known it, and that she was back now. First with Norm, one of their employees, and now with Paolo, a buyer with a store who allegedly was thinking of contracting with them.
Or, was he really with Pony Tails? Had he and Dean lied to them? Elliot had to find out, but not today. He wouldn’t let this ruin his time with Giselle.

When the band came back onstage to play their second set, Giselle sensed a subtle difference in both men, and wished she hadn’t said anything about Norm and the woman she now realized must be Staci Wanamaker. But at the same time, if one of their own employees was in league with competitors, they needed to know that. It made everything Norm had said and done since she’d started at Phoebe’s Playthings suspicious. She wondered if all the times he’d watched her hadn’t been for a different reason than Kade and Elliot had assumed. She’d have to ask her parents if they knew more. But for the rest of the day, she didn’t want to think about Norm or Staci. She only wanted to enjoy her time with Kade and Elliot.
They danced with her again during part of the next hour, and she was glad to see that Elliot’s spotting of Staci and Paolo hadn’t put a permanent damper on the day. When the concert ended, they didn’t leave after the first encore. They stayed for all three, and slowly filed their way out with the crowd. Giselle didn’t mind at all. She hadn’t had this much fun in a long time, and was proud to be seen with both men.
They stopped to chat with people they knew, and both made sure to introduce her to anyone she hadn’t already met. She knew most of them by sight, and some by name. A lot of them were regular customers in her parents’ bar.
None of them spotted Paolo or Staci again, but she caught Elliot glancing around every few minutes as though he were looking for them once more. They reached Kade’s Jeep and, just as Elliot had predicted, had to wait in long lines just to get out on the road again.
When they were finally on their way back into town, she settled against the seat and stretched her legs out. “Thank you again. That was so amazing.”
“You’re welcome,” said Kade, his smile easy and quick. “Are you hungry? We thought we’d take you to Oceanview.”
“Oh…wow. All right.” She glanced down at her clothes. “But am I dressed for it? I’ve heard it has a dress code.”
“Only for private parties,” said Elliot, leaning over from the back seat. “And then only if the clients request that as part of the function.” His gaze traveled over her legs. “You look perfect.”
Both men wore khakis and polo shirts, and she suddenly felt silly for having asked if she was dressed appropriately. They wouldn’t have suggested it if she wasn’t. As they drove south out of town, she leaned back and inhaled the fragrant flowers and scent of the ocean. Even when it wasn’t in direct view, she could always smell it.
What must it be like to live here and know if you tried to cross the Gulf by any means you’d probably die? How long had it been since one of their relatives had tried? And why was no one in their family able to figure out the curse and break it?
She’d asked Phyllis similar questions once, several years ago. The woman had turned her coal-black eyes on Giselle and told her to never speak of that curse again. If Phyllis was freaked out over the curse, it must be bad.
“You look a million miles away.”
Kade’s voice brought her out of her reverie, so she smiled at him. She didn’t want her worries to ruin this day for them. “Just thinking about how pretty it is here. How many people do you suppose have visited since your ancestors bought the island, and wished they could live here?”
“I have no idea, but I’m betting most of them. Who wouldn’t want this?”
She had to ask. The restaurant was on the south side of the island, and in the distance she could just see the hilltop on which it had been built. There wasn’t much traffic heading this way, so it should take them no more than twenty minutes to reach it. She might not have this much privacy once they sat down to dinner.
“Do you ever regret not being able to leave the island? I mean do you think about it a lot?” She’d listened to various relatives of both men over the years express opinions about the curse and its ramifications on both extremes, and every point in between. No two Durantes or Raleighs had the exact same thoughts on it.
“Good question,” said Kade. “There are places I’d love to see in person, but overall I can live without doing so. I’m happy here. It’s beautiful, and we have everything we need. If it’s not right here on the island we can have it flown in or brought over by boat.”
“I agree,” said Elliot. “And I have even less desire to travel than Kade does. I have plenty here to keep me occupied.” He stared into Giselle’s eyes, sending her heart fluttering. “And I sincerely hope I’ll be occupied with you all night.”
She took a deep breath. The lust in his eyes was unmistakable. There was no room for misinterpretation. She glanced at Kade, who gave her an equally hopeful look filled with desire. “Same here.”
How could any girl say no to that?
Chapter Five
Kade made excuses about having to use the bathroom once they were seated, and he hoped Elliot would take the hint. He did. Once both men were inside the lavish restroom, Kade checked under the stalls. They were alone. “What’s the plan tonight?”
“I shouldn’t have blurted that out on the way here but I couldn’t help it.”
Kade clapped him on the back. “It’s cool. I just need to know we’re on the same page. What do we do here? How far do we take this?”
“Let’s just see how it plays out, okay?

“How it plays out? Dude, if she doesn’t want us both as much as we each want her, I’m hallucinating. Are you okay with this? Hell…we’ve never even topped a sub at the same time let alone this. You know there’s a good chance we’re both going to end up in bed with her tonight.”
“I’m fine with it. Really. Hell, we’ve been in lust with her since we were sixteen years old. Longer, really.”
Kade nodded several times, relief washing through his entire being. “True, true. Okay. I want so badly to do this. Fuck. This is unbelievable. All this time she’s been right here. What the hell did we wait for?”
Elliot laughed. “No clue. But it’s all right now. We told her, and she didn’t freak out or slap us or anything. She wants us, too. It’s going to be okay.”
He looked like he was going to say something else, but others came inside.
Once Kade and Elliot returned to the table, they found Giselle still poring over the menu. “I have no idea what to order. Everything looks divine.” She closed it. “You’ve both been here before but I haven’t. What do you recommend?”
They settled on curry mussels, Caribbean chow salad with crawfish, herb-crusted Basa, and curry shrimp with butternut squash, agreeing it would be fun to order all four entrees and share them. They ordered daiquiris to drink, and when the first round arrived, they toasted the band.
“That was the best live music I’ve ever heard. How did you entice them to come here and play? They sell out everywhere they go and I heard they’re booked for like two years.”
Kade grinned. “We have our secrets.”
“Oh, so you’re not going to tell me, then?”
“We can’t,” said Elliot. “Then you’d know too much.”
She laughed. “Oh, I see. All right then. But you were serious about showing me your instruments, right?” She put her hand over her mouth at the looks on their faces, realizing the double entendre as soon as it was out of her mouth. “You know what I mean. Stop that.”
Kade pouted in an exaggerated gesture, then rested his chin in his hands. “Really? You want us to stop? You don’t want to see our instruments?”
She took a sip of her drink and gazed at him from under her lashes. “I don’t want either of you to stop. I want to see everything you care to show me. Both of you.” She glanced out the window. “I have to say this or I’ll never get it out.” She turned her gaze toward them again.
“I’ve never felt so bold and sexy, and it’s because of this day. Because of you two. I don’t know if it was the music, or the view from this spectacular restaurant that makes me feel like a princess, overlooking the landscape and the perfect view of the ocean below. But I want to make love to you both. I’ve wanted that for years. And unless I’m mistaken, you each want the same thing.”
Kade had to take a deep breath as he brushed a hand up her arm. Had she really said those words? God, he hoped so. “You are so sexy. And you’re beautiful. And yes, we both want to make love to you. We’ve wanted that for years, Giselle.”
Her smile lit up the space around all three of them, but she still looked apprehensive, as if she wasn’t quite sure of this. “I mean, what harm would it do? We’re friends. We always have been. And I hope like hell you both know I would never use you or hurt you.”
“We know you wouldn’t,” he said quietly. He hardly dared to believe this was real.
“I’ve had sex with two men in the past. That’s it. And both played me. I need to know you won’t do that. I need to know you wouldn’t use this against me or hurt me with it at some point in the future. I mean, I’m pretty sure you wouldn’t, but I need to hear you say it.”
Elliot took her hands, and Kade wished he’d done it first, but then he tamped that right down. There was no room for jealousy in this. It would tear them apart and ruin everything. He had to get that under control and quickly because if this happened, he’d be in the same bed with his best friend while they both made love to Giselle.
“Never. We would never do that to you or to any woman. We aren’t like that.”
Kade wrapped a hand around her forearm. “Giselle, we are so thrilled to be with you today. And if you give yourself to us, I promise you will never be hurt from it, and you will never feel used.”
The muscles in her face visibly relaxed, and he wondered how long she’d held those concerns in her heart.
“But we do have to talk about a few things first,” said Elliot.
She glanced around. “Is it okay to talk about this in here? I guess I should have asked that first.”
They were seated in a corner and no one was close enough to hear them, but he imagined Giselle was used to being careful what she said in public, considering she had to be while at each place she worked.
“It’s fine.” Elliot paused and took a deep breath. Kade resisted the urge to roll his eyes. There was no need to be so dramatic. “You know we’re both Doms, right?”
She nodded, and Kade didn’t miss the spark of excitement that flashed across her face. Interesting. He had no idea she held such fantasies inside her pretty head.
“And we have no STDs. May we assume the same of you?”
Her face colored slightly, and Kade found that so endearing that his dick began to twitch again. “I don’t have any either. And I’m on the pill.”
“Are you all right with us not using condoms, then? We will of course if you prefer it.”
She looked like she was ready to shed her clothes any second. He’d never seen a woman so aroused, and it was all he could do to stay in his seat. He wanted to push her up against the nearest wall and kiss her until neither of them could breathe.
“That’s fine. Um…except for…you know. Which I have very little experience with, by the way, but also which I would like to try again. The right way this time.”
Kade squeezed her arm and she jumped slightly. He could see the goose bumps on it. “Anal doesn’t have to be part of it,” he said quietly. “But if you decide you want that, we’ll be very, very careful. And we’ll use condoms and plenty of lube.”
“Thank you,” she whispered. “For saying that, and for reading my mind.”
He smiled, unable to tear his gaze away from her golden eyes. He could get lost in them and be content the rest of his life never to leave. Why had they both waited so long to do this?
* * * *
Giselle gave Elliot’s hands a squeeze. “This is really going to happen, right? You two aren’t just teasing me, are you?” She didn’t think they were, but she had to ask. It was all too much to take in. She had the chance tonight to make every fantasy come true. She could hardly believe this was real.
“Yes, it’s going to happen,” said Kade. “We would never tease you about something like this.”
“I have no experience with BDSM.” She had a feeling they knew that, but it was suddenly important they understand up front what they were getting into with her.
“That’s all right. Ask us anything you want.”
“Not just the lifestyle. The play, too. Will that be part of this tonight?” Oh she hoped it would be.
“Only if you want it to be.”
“I do want that.”
Their server approached the table and Elliot let go of her hands. “Let’s enjoy our dinner. We have the rest of the night to figure this out.”
Giselle could hardly get through the meal. The food was incredible, and she tried to remember each ingredient she tasted so that she could tell her mother about some of the dishes. She was always looking for new recipes for the bar, although most of the food here probably took a lot more prep work than her parents had time for. But she knew a few of them could be modified.
They each had two daiquiris, but Giselle didn’t feel drunk. She was far too excited and had eaten too much. The rum barely affected her, which was good because she wanted to remember every second of this evening. They asked if she wanted dessert, and she was about to say she was too full, but instead leaned close and lowered her voice.
“Yes, but I think I should eat in in private. Don’t you?” The look of delighted surprise that came over both their faces forced a giggle to her throat.
Kade paid for the meals, and once they were in his Jeep heading back toward town, she took off her sandals and snuggled back against the seat, enjoying the warm breeze of a perfect summer evening.
“My house?” asked Elliot.
“Good idea,” said Kade. “You have more toys than I do.”
She giggled again, squirming as the realization of what she was about to do washed over her. “Don’t I need safewords?”
Kade glanced toward her, grinning. “Definitely. Let’s keep it simple. ‘Green’ for go or you like what we’re doing, ‘red’ to stop the scene immediately, and ‘yellow’ for anything that needs attention, like you’re thirsty or you need to use the bathroom. All right?”
“Yes. Those make sense. What do I call you both?”
“Our names,” said Elliot. “We haven’t earned a title.”
She shifted in her seat to face him. “It sounds like you take that seriously.”
“We do. Not all Doms are like that, but we don’t believe in making someone call us something we don’t yet feel worthy of.”
“How do you know when you’re worthy of it?”
He brushed a finger along her arm and she shivered. “It varies.”
“I wish there was a rulebook or something. I feel so stupid. I know nothing.”
“Please don’t say that about yourself. You’re far from stupid about anything. There are no rules to a BDSM lifestyle except to keep things safe, sane, and consensual. These kinds of relationships take time, as all of them do. But when play is involved, there’s an added element of trust that must be taken into account. When a Dom is asking for control of a sub’s body, or certain areas of her life, there’s a power exchange going on. She has to give that control to him by her consent, but there still needs to be an out. A way to indicate her need to negotiate specific points.”
