“Meet me down here in twenty?” I ask Max.

“You’re on your own today, Doll. Maxy has a date!” he exclaims.

I hug him and say, “Be safe and have fun. I’ll be down on the sand.”

“Don’t do anything I wouldn’t do,” he says as he walks toward his room. He’s on the first floor. I asked for the third floor so I could have an unobstructed view.

I shake my head and carry on with my plans of slipping on a bathing suit, grabbing a drink, and walking the beach.

  Chapter Five

  Declan

I’m inside my hotel room ripping off my suit as fast as I can. We landed in Myrtle Beach around two o’clock. The day was a wash already. I’m thankful as fuck for the break, but part of me is ready to get this meeting over with. To finally sleep in on the weekends, not having to work more than seventy hours a week, and to finally have Kendall in my arms.

I finish stripping as I walk into the bathroom and start the shower. I’m hopeful the shower will melt some of this stress I seem to be building in my body. Once the steam starts billowing from the walk-in shower, I step in and let the water soothe over my aching body. Even though I no longer play football, I make sure I keep my body in good shape and not allow my knee to sit idle for long. Running is still allowed, but heavy lifting using my knees is out now.

My mind goes back to Kendall and how she felt pressed up against my body. The way she was shorter than me, even in her heels. The way her body is shaped, her tits are more than a handful, and her hips flare out in the perfect shape. Her body is a work of art. Her face is just as gorgeous. Her locks are luscious and dark. Hazel eyes that sparkle.

I reach down to my aching cock and imagine Kendall in the shower with me, her back is pressed up against the tile wall, and I’m on my knees in front of her. Eating her pussy like it’s my last meal as she grinds herself into my mouth, begging and moaning for more.

My mouth never leaves her center, my tongue lapping up all of her essence that’s dripping out of her. My eyes look up towards her as she throws her head back and screams out my name as she comes.

Her flavor floods my mouth and I’m left jerking my cock, as ropes of cum decorate the shower wall.

“Fuck,” I grunt out as I finish. I rewash my body and then step out of the shower. I need Kendall. I was going to wait for this week to be over and we’re back in Michigan, but I can’t wait any longer.

I fish out my phone and laptop and start on a few things that are needed for the meeting in the morning. Once I have more of the sales reports ready, I comb over the data I have and basically pitch to Jake to win him over. I close my laptop hours later, grab my phone, and open up the balcony door that has a view of the beach. The salty air and the setting sun in the distance calms me as I pick up my phone and call Jake himself.

The phone rings on the other line before I hear, “Well, if it isn’t Declan Williams himself.”

“Don’t act like we never talk. You just called last week and bitched the entire time about some girl leaving you high and dry,” I grumble. I’ve known Jake since I was a senior in high school. Jake was a freshman just starting out, but he made the varsity team after he transferred from West Virginia to Michigan. I was a loner, even though I was on the football team. Most of the guys were out “bagging girls” and I was preparing for scouts to watch me play. Jake tried out for the football team, and we became the dynamic duo. I was the quarterback, and he was the center on the team. We clicked and have been friends ever since.

“Larissa left, man. Just vanished into thin fucking air. I have every private detective out there searching for her, but it’s like she’s a damn ghost,” he grumbles.

“Don’t give up on her, especially if she’s the one,” I tell him as I see a lone figure sitting out on a lounge chair the resort provides us. Wouldn’t luck have it that I’m at the same resort Kendall is at. That woman, she’s my future and after tomorrow, I’m not letting her leave my side.

“I’m not sure if she is. I just know I can’t give up on my best friend since childhood.” I can hear the desperation in his voice, and I know what I’m about to say will likely make my fucking gut ache.

“If you need to postpone tomorrow man, we can do it. I know Larissa means a lot to you.” I keep my eyes on Kendall the whole time.

“Not much I can do if she can’t be found. I’ll see you tomorrow. What time?” he questions.

“Meeting’s at eleven. Hopefully we have something to celebrate by then and if you need help with Larissa, you have my support,” I tell him honestly.

“Thanks, it means a lot. See you tomorrow Declan,” he says into the phone.

“Later, Jake,” I reply and click the end button.

As much as I want to go down there and spend time with Kendall. It’s not the time… yet. Just one more fucking day and she’ll be mine.

  Chapter Six

  Kendall

Yesterday was full of sun and relaxation, today I’m ready to start my day. My first order of business is getting ready. Last night, I came in, took a shower and crashed hard. So now I’m having to deal with my unruly hair. While I’m at work I straighten my hair, so it’ll stay secure in a tight bun, but when I’m off work, I let my waves loose.

I hop in the shower and let the water run over my body, knowing I will have to work the knots out of my hair when I get out.

Max said we’d go out and maybe snorkel today or go shopping. Though, it’s still early and he is not an early riser when he’s not working.

I step out of the shower and work my fingers through my hair while it’s still wet before sliding on a pair of khaki knit shorts and an olive-green tank top. I slide my feet into my worn pair of brown Birkenstock’s and head for the restaurant to get a much-needed cup of coffee and some food.

I grab my purse and throw my sunscreen, cell phone, wallet, and room key in it and then zip it up, slide it across my body, and head out the door.

I walk down to the restaurant and grab a seat while waiting for a waiter when I see Declan. He’s walking towards the double doors that leave the hotel. He’s in another one of his amazing suits. His hair is tousled, like he’s already run his hands through it many times even though it’s barely nine o’clock in the morning. He has his phone up to his ear and his other hand is holding a travel cup of coffee. I sigh aloud just as the waitress comes to take my order.

“Hi, I’m Ali. I’ll be your waitress for today. Can I start you off with a drink?” She asks.

“Yes, can I have a cup of coffee and a waffle with eggs?” She looks like she’s right out of high school and around my age. I think to myself if she’s going to college and if this is her summer job. I often wonder what would have happened if I went to college after graduating from high school, but I do know what would happen. I was undecided when I left school and instead pursued a trade, one that I love tremendously. If I went to college, I probably would have failed and been miserable.

“You sure can. I’ll be right back with your coffee,” she says as she writes my order down on her pad of paper.

“Thank you,” I say, pulling out my phone and go to the Kindle app. I may as well find something good to read while waiting for Max to grace me with his presence. I pull up an old book I’ve probably read a dozen times and immerse myself in it as I doctor up my coffee with lots of cream and one sugar.

I thank my waitress again as she brings out my food and then eat while reading. If Max is going to sleep the day away, I’m going to eat my breakfast and then head out toward the beach again.

  Chapter Seven

  Declan

I look into the boardroom that is a wall of glass and see Jake is already at the conference table with the board of directors. I grab my papers Cindy prepared for me on my way into the room and the chatter that was going on comes to a standstill. I smile inside. When I started this company, I never thought it would get this big, yet here it is. A multimillion-dollar company and I should have had a partner all along.
<
br />   I see Cindy prepared the buffet with refreshments and I nod to a few board members and shake some hands. Jake comes up to me. I shake his hand and pull him into a side hug. I can see the tiredness and weariness on his face.

  “You okay?” I question him.

“Yeah, got a lead on Larissa last night only for it to turn into a dead end. When I leave here today, I’m going to her parents’ house to see if they’ve heard anything from her,” he says.

“As long as you’re okay. Don’t forget what I said, whatever you need. The jet is on standby at the airport if you need it,” I tell him. Jake is basically a second brother, to be honest I’m closer to him than I am to Brian and to see him so distraught, it’s not something I’m used to.

“I may take it this afternoon. I should be back by the evening. Her parents live in Tennessee, so the trip shouldn’t take that long,” he says as he rubs the side of his neck. I hope Larissa is worth it, especially because of everything she’s putting him through.

“No problem. You ready to start?” I question.

“Without a doubt,” he takes his seat and we get down to Jake signing papers and then I’m next. We then pass it around to the board members so they can make sure we dotted our i’s and crossed our t’s.

When we’re all done, everyone welcomes Jake aboard our team, and as much as I’d like to take him out to celebrate with a couple of drinks, I know he’s ready to find Larissa more than anything.

“Thanks for being a part of our team, Jake,” I say as we walk out the door of our building. I’m waiting for an Uber to take me back to the hotel and Jake is headed to the airstrip.

“Thank you for having me. I’m thankful to be on your team,” he says with a smirk.

“I texted the pilot. The jet’s ready and waiting for you. I’m not leaving for Michigan until tomorrow, so, take your time. If you need it, I can always stand to use another vacation day anyway.” I tell him as my car that I’ve been waiting on comes to a stop. I open the door when I hear Jake say, “Thanks, man. You don’t know how much I appreciate this.”

“I understand more than you know. I’m off to get my woman myself.” I smile and then I take off to the hotel.

  Chapter Eight

  Kendall

I received a text saying Max wasn’t making it out today. I kind of assumed that would happen by the time one o’clock in the afternoon rolled around. Instead of going shopping, I went back to my hotel room and changed into my bathing suit. It’s a black one piece with lace design on the v that dips down between my breasts. It’s more daring than I would usually wear, but I took a chance when I tried it on, and it flattered my size twelve figure. I have curves, something no matter how hard I exercised or dieted, they were just always there. I never got down to a size ten. I learned to embrace it and find pieces that accentuated my body.

When I get down to the beach, I find a lounge chair and lather myself with sunscreen. I don’t tan like my mother does, and even if I did, she instilled it into my head to always protect your skin when I was barely a teenager.

A waiter comes by and I ask for a bottle of water and a lemonade, knowing I need to stay hydrated in the heat and humidity. Now that I have everything I want, I fire up my kindle.

I get lost in the story I started this morning and am just finishing my book when I look up and see Declan walking down the beach. He looks lost in thought.

I take a chance, abandoning my chair and leaving my things where they are. I walk up towards him and he notices me.

“Hey, Kendall,” he says with a smile.

“Hey, Declan. I didn’t expect to see you out here today. Didn’t you say you were going to be in meetings all day.” I remember him mentioning on the plane he was coming down here for something to do with his company.

“Yeah, I just finished and figured I’d come out and get some fresh air. Want to go in the water with me?” he asks.

“Sure. Want to leave your things with my stuff?” I suggest as I hook my thumb over my shoulder, pointing to where I was sitting.

“Yeah, that would be good,” he rasps as he appraises my body. I’ve wanted Declan since I first started working on his private jet. The naughty thoughts I’ve had of him have been replaying in my mind daily, especially at night.

I turn around and he places his hand on my hip as we walk to my lounge chair. I can practically feel the electricity thumping in my body with just a touch of his hand.

Declan takes off his shirt then lays down his towel, phone, and room key. He turns back around and I’m speechless. His body is that of a Greek god. All taut and firm lines. He’s muscular, but not in a body builder way. He’s utterly perfect. I can see every line that delineates each muscle in his chest and abdominal muscles. My mouth is gaping open and there is probably drool running down my chin.

Only when he chuckles, do I look up at him. He’s smiling and it lights up his whole face. He has a couple of days of beard growth on his face that makes him look even better than his usual clean-shaven face. His whiskey colored eyes reel me in.

He grabs my hand and leads me towards the beach. I’m still trying to get my rampant thoughts under control when he takes me closer to a vendor and asks, “Want to go snorkeling in the cove?”

“I’d love that. Max and I were supposed to go today, but he bailed,” I say huskily. I just did not feel comfortable going by myself that far into the ocean with Max cancelling, and now here’s the perfect opportunity. Plus, I get to go with Declan, now. That’s the icing on the cake.

Declan pays for our rentals, charging it to his room. He wouldn’t let me charge my set to my room. I’ve never had someone offer to pay for anything of mine. I’ve always made sure I could pay for it myself, and, if I didn’t have it, I didn’t spend it.

  “Declan,” I mutter.

He turns to look at me, “Kendall,” he growls.

I’m turned on instantly, wanting to know how he’d sound in the throes of making love. My cheeks turn red. I don’t even need a mirror to know I’m flushed. I can feel the heat rise in my skin.

“Thank you. I could have paid for my own, but…uh… thank you,” I tell him. His hand goes to my hip, something I’m noticing he likes to do when he touches me. I can feel his firm grasp as he brings me in closer to his body.

There’s barely an inch between us. His hand is still firmly on my hip. His lips whisper over mine. Then he moves away and his hand is back in mine.

  Chapter Nine

  Declan

Shit, I had to back away from Kendall. She sets my blood on fire, and if I kissed her any longer, I would have had to excuse myself until the blood drained out of my cock. She’s so damn gorgeous, it should be illegal. The best part is, she has no fucking idea. Clueless to the guys that leer at her when she’s lost in a book or when she’s just walking around. She’s clueless of her own beauty.

It’s a fucking breath of fresh air. Being a millionaire comes with notoriety and when I was playing pro ball, women would want me in one way or another. Something I never partook in. I stayed away from the socialites and gold diggers. Basically, I was living like a hermit for the past ten years unless it was for work.

With Kendall I don’t have to worry about that. She’s down to earth. The proverbial girl next door. Not to mention, she offered to pay for her own snorkel rental. Someone out to take advantage wouldn’t even blink at me paying or would insist on me paying.

We walk out to the long deck they have sectioned off for those who want to snorkel and we both sit down and put on our fins. I watch Kendall as she flips her head over and puts her hair in some kind of bun. The action of her doing that shouldn’t look sexy, but, hell, it is. I put on my mask and snorkel. She flips her head back up and looks at me.

I’m sure I look goofy as fuck with my mask on. She laughs and then puts hers on. We make a pair.

I laugh along with her, until I say, “You ready?”

“Yes.” She has a happy smile on her face and then she holds her mask as she slides
down into the water. I follow her lead and then we both put our snorkels in our mouths and swim out to look at the reefs and fish.

Kendall doesn’t leave my side as we meander out. At one point, she gets so excited she grabs my arm and points out a sea turtle. It’s massive in size and lazily swims around.

I pop my head out of the water and take my snorkel off and tread water, then she comes up for air and pulls her gear off as well.

“Oh my gosh, did you see how big that turtle was? I’ve never seen one that big!” She exclaims.

“It was really big. It must be over fifty years old,” I tell her and this time I can’t hold back. I reach for her and bring her in closer to me. My hands find her hips once again and we both tread water. My lips find hers, and I kiss her. Not just a small peck. I take her lips, owning her as much as she now owns me.

Our tongues meet. She’s tentative at first, but the more I coax her, the more she brings her tongue into play and we make out without a care in the world. I can taste lemon on her lips from the lemonade she must have been drinking earlier.

She pulls away first, but then dives back in. Her hand finds the nape of my neck and she plays with my hair as we continue kissing. Her hips rock into mine, and, if we weren’t out in the open and there weren’t families surrounding us, my hands would be gliding all over her body.

We part, but just barely. I know she can feel my cock that’s now rock hard.

  “Wow,” she whispers.

“Yeah, my thoughts exactly. Want to grab some dinner?” I respond.

“That sounds good. There’s a seafood shack just down the road. Want to eat there? Last time I was down here, Max and I ate there, and they have the best lobster bisque I’ve ever had,” she says excitedly.
