She ran a thumb over his nipple, making him hiss in response. “You’re not making this easy,” he said, caressing her peak with his tongue.
He wanted to run his tongue between her legs.
“I don’t want it easy,” she replied, freeing his impressive erection from its confines. “I want it hard. Hard, deep and fast.”
His dark eyes turned almost black. “You like it rough, baby?” One corner of her mouth tipped up in a wicked smile and she ran her thumb
over his velvet tip. “Yes,” she said, licking his moisture off her thumb and fighting the urge to close her eyes in ecstasy.
He inhaled and pressed her harder against the wall. “You want i t rough this time?”
She wrapped a long leg around his thigh to pull him closer to her. She worked his erection in her hand, sliding up and down and squeezing none too gently while watching his face.
He knew she could see intense desire and almost feral need in his expression. She was about to find out first hand that he would totally and completely satisfy her.
“Yes,” she whispered.
Good thing he did, too. He captured her wrists again. His free hand roamed her body in a fast, electric sweep. He plucked at her nipple, pinched and rolled it between his fingers, almost to the point of pain.
She rolled her hips against him in a silent plea.
“You like to be manhandled, don’t you?”
“Sometimes, yes.”
Maintaining his grip on her wrists, Cameron bent and took her other bud into his mouth. Greedy and unrelenting, his mouth worked her nipple with gentle scrapes of his teeth and the pluck of his lips. The double pressure of his mouth at one nipple and hand at the other was starting to unravel her. Her skin flushed beautifully. His teeth nipped at her again, and she moaned.
His hand left her breast and she whimpered in protest. He eased to her side, tracking his fingers through her wet slit, plunging a pair of them deep inside.
Gasping, she arched to his touch, silently seeking more. He gave it to her, crooking his fingers and scraping against her most
sensitive spot. Over and over again, he nudged that bundle of nerves deep inside her, making her short of breath. He was about to push her over the edge again.
“Do you want it?” he forced out tightly . Grabbing something out of his back pocket, he managed to work his jeans and briefs down his hips with her help. He stepped out of them and kicked them aside.
“You know I do,” she said, moaning and spreading her legs wider. “Take me. Hard!”
“I’m going to hold you down while I do.”
“God, yes!”
He tore the condom packet open while she watched him sheathe himself in about three seconds. Cameron pushed at her legs with insistent hands then snagged her wrists and held them above her head again. Settling into the space between her thighs, he slid inside her in one hard thrust, giving her no chance to adjust to his size. Her pussy strangled his cock and he stifled a groan. His velvet head bottomed out against her womb as she gasped in pleasure.
He held her still, easing most of the way out, before slamming into her again with a heavy stroke. He didn’t think the pleasure could get any more intense. Since she was already aroused and slightly swollen from her orgasm in the elevator, he felt her body respond by closing around his hard, insistent length as he drove into her again and again.
“Harder. Deeper,” she pleaded. “So close…need…more…” He began to plunge into her with rapid-fire thrusts, and he felt her knees
begin to shake. She convulsed around his cock as he continued his assault trying to coax her to yet another peak. She began to scream as he felt her climax.
Shifting her hips, Cameron repositioned himself and thrust deep inside her again. He became a man possessed, any control he had to that point came undone. She shivered in delight as he hammered her into the wall and swirled his fingers over her swollen clit. Her silken channel cinched around him, gripping his cock until he had to push his way inside with every thrust.
Deeper, faster, hotter — Cameron pushed her, his strokes unrelenting. Buried inside her, he swelled even more, stretching her and making her moan louder. “Come for me, baby,” he urged hotly. “Come. For. Me. N ow!”
His gravelly demand and his last plunge was her undoing. She exploded around him, milking his cock until he followed her in release, groaning hoarsely in her ear. Gradually, his movements slowed to a stop. He released her hands and she rested them on his shoulders, trying to keep herself upright. He touched his forehead to hers, kissing her nose.
“Wow,” she breathed.
He chuckled and lifted his head to stare into her eyes. “Back at ya. You okay?”
“I’ll let you know when my brain begins to function again.” She felt him cup her cheek in his palm as he gently removed himself from
her pussy. She groaned in protest. He smiled and ran his thumb along the seam of her lips. “That was just round one, baby. I’m not nearly finished with you.”
“Well, that’s a relief,” she quipped. “But I think it’s only fair to warn you that I’m hell to keep up with.”
She smiled as he cocked an eyebrow at her.
“Is that so?” They both felt the stirrings of renewed desire. Nodding, she watched with fascination as he began to harden again.
Leanne knew she ’d been right when she figured he’d be fantastic in bed. “Let’s find out exactly how well I can keep up with you then,” he replied. She tipped her face up as he leaned in to capture her lips with his once
again.
Chapter Three
Leanne shifted uncomfortably in her chair the next morning and tried to keep her wince to a minimum. Her thighs, ass and a few other parts were protesting all of the activity from the night before. Her father had talked her into coming down to his office and meeting with a representative from a private security firm. He paced restlessly from one end of the room to the other practically wearing a hole in the plush carpet. She knew he was worried about her. Since her mother had passed away several years before, she and her son, Michael, were the only family Dad had left.
“I don’t need a bodyguard, Daddy.”
She sipped at her tea and regarded William Cooper with affection. At 68 years old, he looked every inch the hotel magnate with his thick, silver hair, imposing stance, and air of authority. There was no one in the hotel who did not snap to attention when he walked by. She knew he wanted to keep her safe until the divorce was finalized. Her soon-to-be ex-husband, Scott Carson, was none too happy that she was relaying information to the authorities that would result in criminal proceedings against him. While Scott had been busy with insider trading, Leanne had been documenting his actions and collecting physical evidence. It hadn’t been easy since she had rarely been alone during t heir two miserable years of marriage. In fact, Leanne’s actions had almost cost her her life, so it was understandable why William wanted protection for his daughter.
“Leanne,” William said fondly, “I won’t lay out all the reasons why that statement is simply not true. We’d be going in circles. I’ll just play the guilt card and ask you to do it for me — for my peace of mind.”
She blew out a breath. Maybe it wouldn’t hurt to have an extra set of eyes looking out for her. Some days she just got so tired of all of it. “Fine then.” She saw her father visibly relax in his chair. “But you are sure this Cameron Mitchell is the best man for the job?”
Her father nodded. “He comes highly recommended by Joseph and is rumored to be the top in his field. He’s a former Navy SEAL…”
“They are never former Navy SEALs, Daddy. Once a SEAL, always a SEAL.”
“How right you are, Ms. Cooper.”
It couldn’t be possible. That voice. Leanne turned to see Tall, Dark and Delicious standing in the doorway of her father’s office. He’d entered without a sound. Composing herself quickly, Leanne got to her feet and crossed the room. She hoped he couldn’t see her heartbeat fluttering in her chest
. She extended her hand in greeting, nearly jumping at the sizzle of electricity she felt at his grip. For a brief second, she could see his hand as it caressed her body last night, rubbing his thumb across her nipple, trailing down her belly, slipping between her…
“Cameron Mitchell,” he said, giving no hint to her father that they were acquainted with each other.
“Mitchell,” said William Cooper, crossing the room and shaking his hand enthusiastically. “I really appreciate you agreeing to help us.”
“Happy to do it, Sir. And you, Ms. Cooper? Are you happy as well?” “I actually have mixed e motions, Mr. Mitchell. But I do understand why
you need to be here. So thank you from me as well.” The three of them spent the next 20 minutes putting together an overall
plan to lead Scott towards believing that Leanne was moving on with her life. Not only would Cameron be working as head of security at the Cooper family hotel, but he would also, for all intents and purposes, be her boyfriend. That was the one sticking point for Leanne. She would be living with the man for the foreseeable future. She hesitated and was slightly surprised when he asked for a few moments alone with her. Once her father left, she turned to him. She almost wasn’t sure what to say without it sounding trite.
“Cameron, last night was…”
“Stupendous.”
She smiled. “I was going for amazing, but stupendous will work.” Chocolate eyes regarded her with barely banked heat. “I’m glad we’re not
navigating the ‘ l ast night was a mistake’ waters.”
Leanne snorted and settled herself on the couch. He caught her pained expression and almost grinned. “I rarely do things in error, Ace. I saw, I wanted, I enjoyed. No mistake. No regrets.”
He tipped his head at her. “Thanks for that. Why the hesitation, then?” She fidgeted on the couch and twisted her fingers together. There was
obviously something weighing heavily on her mind. “I’m trying to figure out the best way to explain all this to my son. I’ve kept this away from him as much as possible since he’s been away at school, but there’s no way I can hide it if you’re going to be with me almost everywhere I go. And before you say a word,” she continued, “We don’t keep secrets like this from each other. I sheltered him as much as I could when Scott and I were married. Thank goodness he was old enough to have his own life so he was out of the house for much of the time, but this…”
She looked down as Cameron placed a hand over hers. “If he is anything like you, he’ll appreciate the straight approach. I would recommend face to face though to remain on the safe side. Cell phones aren’t always secure,” he told her.
Leanne hadn’t even considered that fact. She knew her office and her room lines at the hotel were secure, but she’d never thought to have her cell phone checked out. This whole situation was becoming surreal.
“Alright. I was planning to go see the football game on Saturday anyway. I’ll just let Michael know I’m bringing company.”
She called her father back in, and the three of them went over the general layout of the hotel. Cameron had studied it and had several good ideas about surveillance and her safety.
*****
The next few days bordered on routine. Cameron settled into his role at the hotel, but kept his distance from Leanne except in the most basic sense. He was affectionate in public and convincingly played the role of devoted boyfriend. In private, though, he’d kept a respectable distance, opting to stay in her room, but bunking on the fold-out couch. It was making Leanne crazy to be that close to him, have him invade her space as well as her life this way and not experience the mind- altering intimacy they’d had earlier in the week. She needed to change that.
“You’re really okay going with me to talk to Michael this weekend?” she asked from across the room. She was sitting at her desk, working on her laptop. He had settled into one of the arm chairs working on his. He looked up, took in their surroundings and was struck again by how the décor of the room fit her to the letter. Clean lines, classic style, and cool colors.
“Of course. Where you go, I go. Not sur e I’m okay with you driving, though.”
She smirked at him. “My new car, my rules. I drive, Ace.” “Tell me about that car,” Cameron asked her.
She regarded him warily over the top of her computer. “What do you mean?”
“You’ve had the car what… two weeks? Before that you were driving a luxury SUV that Carson paid for. I have to think your purchase of new wheels was the proverbial middle finger.”
She was amazed at how astute he was. He’d hit it right on the head. It was all she could do to keep her jaw from dropping open. “Yeah , it was. It’s e xactly the type of car Scott would hate. But I wanted one the minute I saw the commercial on TV. Call it my mid- life crisis car.”
Cameron crossed the room to sit in front of her desk. He regarded her with chocolate brown eyes. “Tell me about him.”
She blew out a breath. “I’m sure you have a file on him.” “Sure, but the file doesn’t tell me who he was as a person, or what it was
like being married to him. I’d like you to tell me what you’re comfortable telling me , so I can understand him better.”
Leanne’s eyes turned cloudy. “Scott was…charming. At first. I’m not really a hearts and flowers type of girl, but he could bedazzle anyone if he put his mind to it. I made him work really hard for it too. Being a sin gle mom, I don’t trust easily. And I was used to being on my own. I’m not young or naïve , but he managed to get under my radar. Things were okay for the first few months of our marriage. Then he started manipulating. He maneuvered people, situations...anything he could do to make himself look better. He got very possessive with me. I saw it for what it was in a short amount of time. That made things worse, of course. He knew he couldn’t affect my self -esteem. He tried to isolate me and cut me off from Dad, but that didn’t work. Scott hated any time I spent away from him, didn’t like it unless I was completely focused on him. He even resented the time I spent with Michael. He was jealous of his own step-son! It was stupid and crazy. And it made me so angry.”
“Did he get physical?”
Leanne sighed. “About a year ago, right before I left, I had gone to one of the high school football games to see Michael perform with the marching band. I was a chaperone for the band, so I rode the bus every week. Scott backed off when he saw how determined I was to go to every game and every competition and concert. He wanted no part of any of it, but if I wasn’t home by the time he thought I should be home, things got ugly. One particular game ran long because of rain delays. Then the bus I was riding on got a flat tire which resulted in us being the last to get back to the school that night. I was two hours later than my usual arrival time. It didn’t matter that I answered the phone every time he called me. Michael got home before I did, so Scott assumed I was obviously out having an affair. He punished me for that.”
Cameron’s jaw ticked in response. “Was that the only time?” She really hated relaying this next part. “There was one after that. I had
gone back to our house to get a few more things once I’d split from Scott. I thought I’d picked a time when he wouldn’t be there. He wasn’t supposed to be there …but he was waiting for me.” She paused for a moment to gather her thoughts.
Cameron leaned forward, clasped her hand in his and just held it. “You don’t have to continue if you don’t want to.” Green eyes met his.
“No. I need to. I…went into the house and something just felt off. I tried to leave, but Scott came out of the dining room where he’d been hiding. And he had someone with him. He…they…tried to introduce me to a ménage.”
She saw the tension in his body, saw how angry he was. He looked like he was ready to strangle someone. She watched him reign in his temper while he waited for her to finish.
“Is that something you were interested in?” he asked. Her wary eyes regarded him. “Most women have that fantasy, but not in
r /> that context. And I certainly never thought about it, especially with Scott.” “You said tried. I’m assuming they were not successful,” he replied
through gritted teeth.
She shook her head. “Ah… no. Once the friend figured out it was not consensual, he left, but not before dragging Scott out with him. I never did get to thank him for that.”
“Who was it?”
She waved her hand in dismissal. “Kevin… Kyle … something like that. I didn’t really know him. Scott didn’t like me talking to his male friends.”
“Yet, he was okay with having one of those friends participate in a rape?” Leanne squeezed his hand. She’d gotten the same reac tion from her father
a year ago. “The important thing is nothing really happened. I’ve been staying in plain sight since then. One of the reasons I live in the hotel is that I’m always surrounded by people ; that’s also a downside though.”
“Another downs ide you may want to consider is that one or some of the people who work for you may not have your best interests at heart.”
Leanne regarded him with disbelief. “No. I can’t…won’t think that anyone…” Her shoulders slumped in defeat.
“But you don’t know. You just don’t know. I’m sorry sweetheart.” “So am I.”

Scott Carson read the text message and chuckled to himself. A new head of security had been hired for the Cooper family hotel. Big fucking deal. It didn’t make a difference where she lived or how many people were around her. When he wanted to get to Leanne, he’d get to her and teach her a lesson. Hadn’t she learned that already? He had several reliable people helping him keep tabs on his wife. He knew where she was, what she did and with whom every single day. When he was ready, he’d make his move. He’d put an initial plan together and was now working out the finer details. He wanted things to go off without a hitch. It was now just a matter of time before she would find out how big a mistake she made by leaving him.
Chapter Four
Leanne Cooper drove with fierce determination, he decided as they drove to visit her son. Cameron was very entertained as he watched her navigate Dallas traffic on their way out of town. She had turned the radio volume up and was singing along to the lyrics as she shifted her Fiat into fifth gear, accelerating to enter the freeway.
