Captive to the Dragon (Banished Dragons)

Soon, Max was back to work, slowly, agonizingly slowly, stripping her of her jeans and panties, his hands smoothly caressing her skin as he did so. He seemed so deeply appreciative of her, and she watched as his beautiful golden eyes roamed up and down her body. His touch was driving her crazy. She was nearly out of her mind with longing. She wanted him. Now.

He glanced up at her, his brow arching with mild, bemused surprise.

“Oh really?” he asked, a deep grin spreading across his face.

Andrea held his gaze, her desires sending heat to her cheeks. Max wasn’t put off by them. In fact, he was deeply aroused by them and gave her a piercing look that set her loins on fire.

He gave an approving nod, giving her no warning when he made his move. Andrea cried out in surprise as he pressed himself inside her suddenly. Her entire body contracted around his hard muscle and they both let out low moans of pleasure. His body felt so good against hers. So natural. She shivered in pleasure, her mind racing as Max began to roll his hips gently, every slight motion sending a wild desire coursing through her entire body.

She could feel every inch of him inside her, and she let out a low moan as her hands roamed across his rippling muscles. How had she gotten so lucky? He was such a gorgeous man. And an incredible lover. Was it spoiling her to take her to such a blissful place? She didn’t care. She craved it too much to care.. Andrea held his cheek against her hand and kissed him fervently, her body on fire as she did so. Max responded with a more passionate kiss, letting out a low growl as his teeth grazed her lips tantalizingly. When he pulled away to test her reaction the sight of his golden eyes flashing brought another wave of heat pulsing through her body. Max sensed the depth of her longing and began to pick up the pace of his powerful thrusts, the friction between their bodies driving Andrea nearly to the edge of her self-control. She had never wanted anybody this way before. It was almost scary.

But Max looked at her then. He didn’t want her to be afraid. He wanted to pleasure her. To embrace the gift of their bodies. And so, she would.

Andrea held him close, her own body responding to the roll of his hips and the intensity of his gaze. She could almost swear she saw the dragon in there somewhere. Its raw power was hard to miss. She could feel it in every delicious caress.

A sudden burst of rapture electrified Andrea’s body and she let out a sharp cry of ecstasy. He wasn’t going to go easy on her this time. He wanted her to feel him. Just as she was craving.

“Oh God,” Andrea gasped suddenly. Max had hilted; he was inside her as deeply as he could get. She almost laughed. It didn’t seem fair that he was such a superior lover to the men of Earth. He was graciously well-endowed, and he knew what to do with it. How had she gotten so lucky?,

“It is fate that we are here. And we should appreciate its gifts, not question them,” Max said, as if he could sense her inner monologue. He let out a low growl, his powerful hips beginning to quicken against her thighs

Andrea widened her eyes in surprise, and suddenly, Max was unleashing his full power upon her. Every movement sent a salacious jolt of rapture through Andrea’s body. She clung to Max tightly as he pleasured her, and soon, the room was filled with her swelling cries of ecstasy.

Max slowed as suddenly as he had unleashed, then sped up again, sending her on a blissful roller coaster. She rode the waves of her pleasure gladly and Max continued his sinful assault until Andrea was writhing in ecstasy. He furrowed his brow, his movements suddenly hot and intense. Andrea moaned deeply, on the verge of climax.

Finally, she couldn’t hold back any longer and she contracted tightly around Max’s hard member. He let out a growl and sped up the power of his hips. The fervent motion enhanced her rapture, and she felt Max tremble within her and knew he was joining her in her climax. She moaned deep from within as his explosive orgasm filled her deeply, and he continued to thrust slowly within her as the height of her ecstasy began to taper.

Max held Andrea, keeping the rhythm going until they were both spent, then scooped her up and held her close to his broad chest. It rose and fell rapidly as they struggled to catch their breaths, and Max showered gentle kisses over her hair.

“I love you,” he said, smiling at Andrea.

“I love you too,” Andrea said, clutching him, and trying to relax against the intensity of her orgasm.

Her cell phone chimed suddenly, and she frowned.

“Answer it,” Max said lazily, running his hands through his hair.

Andrea did, thinking it might be concerning her mother, and flinched when she heard Mr. Jansen’s voice.

“What do you want?” she snapped, unable to keep herself from showing her annoyance.

“I wanted to know if you’re coming to my barbeque…”

“Did you really think you would get away with bullying those poor boys? Why do you think I would be interested in a coward who gets a power trip ruining the lives of innocent children?”

  “What? Andrea…”

“Don’t play dumb with me. I’m not interested in you. I’ve never been interested in you. And if you don’t leave those boys alone and fix all the bullshit you’ve put them through, so help me God, you will regret it.”

There was a powerful force of conviction in her voice. She could feel the Loni power in herself now, loud, and clear. She would find a way to make her words ring true. And he seemed to sense it because his voice was suddenly small and scared.

“Okay, Andrea. Calm down. Everything is going to be fine. I was just speaking with Carl’s mother…”

“Damn right it’s going to be fine. Because you’re going to stop your bullshit and fix it. Now.”

Andrea hung up and sat back against the bed, then glanced at Max who was smiling at her proudly.

“I think I like it on Earth,” he said, pulling her close. “I’m going to stick around here and see how this plays out.”

Andrea laughed and allowed Max’s strong body to comfort her. Everything really was better with this man in her life. And together, they were going to improve two worlds, one step at a time.

  Epilogue

“Are you sure about this?” Max asked gently, eyeing Andrea dubiously. “I have never been to a barbeque before. What if I draw attention to myself.”

“It will be fine,” Andrea said, patting Max’s broad shoulder reassuringly. She smiled at him, her eyes bright. “I wouldn’t be able to do this without you. And I have to.”

Max shifted, his golden eyes dubious, but he nodded. “All right. Let’s go in then.”

Andrea beamed at him and rang the doorbell. It took a few moments, but soon, an elderly woman was opening the door for them and ushering them into the back yard, where Mr. Jansen was manning the grill.

Andrea looked around at the crowd. Not a very impressive group, to be sure. Mostly new teachers and staff who felt obligated, for their job’s sake, to attend.

“Andrea! Let me get you a drink!” Mr. Jansen exclaimed. He started toward her and then stopped short when he caught sight of the handsome, otherworldly man behind her. “Who is this?”

He clearly wasn’t happy to see Andrea with another man. Especially not one so devastatingly attractive. It brought a smile to Andrea’s face, and she glanced over her shoulder at Max, a proud smile lingering on her lips.

“This is my fiancé,” Andrea stated, resting her hand on the small bump of her abdomen where their child was already beginning to show.

All the blood drained from Jansen’s face, and he gaped at Max, who flashed him his most charming smile. Finally, he looked back over at Andrea, the anguish on his face expanding when he saw that Andrea was pregnant.

“What?! How could this…” he stammered. “You bitch!”

Andrea’s brow shot up and she gripped him by the shoulder, her body surging with the new strength of her awakened inner dragon.

“What did you say?” she demanded.

  “I mean…con-congratulations,” Mr. Jansen squeaked.

  Nobody else had
heard his comment but Max, and they were both staring at the man, their eyes flashing.

It was clear the words were insincere, but Max didn’t seem to detect the difference. Andrea slowly released her grip on Jansen and stepped away. He stared at her, his face as white as a sheet. He was terrified of her. Good.

“Thank you!” Max said loudly, slapping Mr. Jansen’s shoulder hard. It was clearly a gesture he had learned from a movie and the man winced, thrown off balance by the painful blow.

“You’re…you’re welcome,” he said timidly, backing away from Max and Andrea.

Andrea grinned, then glanced over her shoulder. Perfect. There were some people from the Board of Education here.

“So what are you going to do about the boys?” Andrea asked, loud enough for them to hear. “Everything is taken care of, I assume?”

Now Jansen looked nervous. He glanced at the board members, who raised their brows curiously.

“I was just going to tell these gentleman about my choice regarding the matter,” he said, clearing his throat loudly.

Andrea directed Max’s attention to the board members. He knew that if things got out of hand, it would be his place to help convince them of the best course of action. He was ready.

“What is your choice?” the most serious of the men asked, rising from his seat.

  “Um…”

Andrea rose her brow at Jansen. She could feel her body begin to surge with the new but familiar rush of power that had been awakened when Max had told her about her ancestry, and her eyes flashed, revealing the dragon beneath, just briefly enough for Jansen to see. “Tell them what you told me,” she said. Jansen gaped at her.

  “Your eyes!”

He blinked hard, then looked around, grasping blindly for the beer resting on the grill and chugging a long, deep drink. He clearly didn’t believe what it was he was seeing.

Andrea didn’t speak. She knew she had just displayed a small amount of her dragon blood, just as, at times, Max let his dragon self slip out.

Max stared at Mr. Jansen menacingly. “Please answer the lady.”

This seemed to bring Jansen’s attention back to the matter at hand, and finally, he sat the beer down and looked vaguely around at his guests.

“The boys should be welcome in our school,” Mr. Jansen said weakly. He completely lacked conviction, but he glanced nervously at Max and continued speaking. “It was our mistake that cost them so much, and we should do everything we can to make up for it. It could be worse for our reputation if we don’t and the truth comes out.”

Everyone seemed surprised by the sudden change of heart, and Andrea turned her gaze to the board members, her stomach in knots. Would they agree to let the boys stay?

There was silence for a few moments, and then, finally, one of the men nodded.

  “That seems fair enough.”

The others agreed and sat down and continued eating as if it was no big deal, though inside, Andrea had never felt more elated.

“Thank you for the invitation,” Max said cheerfully, grabbing a heaping plate full of buns and walking to a picnic table with them. Mr. Jansen gaped at him and Andrea laughed, following him.

Before she made it to the table, she felt a small, timid touch on her shoulder. Andrea turned around, sucking in her breath, ready to go off on Jansen again.

But when she saw his face, she paused. He looked somber. Remorseful.

“Andrea, may I speak with you for a moment?”

Andrea glanced over at Max, who was stuffing his face already as others watched him in awe. She smiled inwardly and then turned to Jansen.

  “I guess so,” she sighed.

  He shifted nervously.

“Look. I’m really sorry I said those things to you. I get very insecure sometimes. I don’t mean any disrespect. I guess, sometimes, I get a little away from myself…”

Jansen trailed off and Andrea studied him, surprised to find that he was being sincere. With her dragon strength came another wonderful quality; she could read energy just as Max seemed able to do.

“You can do better than that,” she said, looking seriously at him. “You can learn to treat people with respect.”

Jansen nodded miserably. “I know. I’m going to try harder.”

“Good. Thank you for apologizing. I accept.”

He seemed deeply relieved by the words and Andrea smiled. She knew it didn’t help anyone to bully a bully, especially when they sincerely wanted to reform. And so, she walked back to the picnic table where Max was waiting. Andrea touched her stomach lovingly as she sat down across from her lover to enjoy the rest of the barbeque. Everything was going to be all right.

  1.

“Nice work, Jonah. I think they really believed it.”

Jonah grinned quickly, but a sudden shadow wiped the smile off his face.

“Not quite,” Jonah growled. “Get down, Nichols!”

“Fucking wolves! You’ll never make it to the Serah Stone!”

Nichols dropped to the ground and Jonah reacted quickly, just as he had been taught to do in training. A piercing wail filled the air as the bullet from Jonah’s gun struck true and the bear shifter collapsed to the ground, writhing in agony before he grew still. The job was finished. It was time to return to base.

“You’re not getting away with this. Just because you’re SEALs doesn’t mean you can stop fate,” the shifter murmured just as he drew his final, shuddering breath. Jonah glanced down at Nichols, who happened to be a bear shifter himself, and offered his hand.

“You good?” Jonah asked, helping Nichols to his feet.

“Just grazed my back,” Nichols said, gesturing casually to his torn uniform and the three bleeding scratch marks that ran from his shoulder to his waist. “It’s really nothing.”

“Still, they’re going to want to have you checked out. Any link in the chain that isn’t at its strongest…”

“Is a liability, I know, man. You say that all the time.”

“I’m the leader of the squad, Nichols. I have to have a slogan.”

Jonah grinned at his friend, so fast it almost wasn’t even a smile at all, before getting back to business.

“All right, let’s get back then,” Jonah said. “We’ll make sure you’re square before we report what happened here.”

“It’s big, Jonah,” Nichols said, his dark brown eyes glittering nervously. “I don’t like how this feels.”

“Don’t worry, man, everything is going to be all right. We’re on it.”

“But this is going to change everything, Jonah. I’m pretty worried. I have a feeling this is deeper than we thought. They obviously don’t have the stone here.”

  Jonah glowered. “I know.”

The Serah Stone was Stonybrooke’s pride and joy. It was a mystical, incredible mineral that had rich mythology and magical properties embedded in its sharp edges and luminous exterior. It had been stolen from its sacred altar from Jonah’s hometown just a few months ago, no doubt to serve the twisted agenda of the bear shifters. With the power of the Serah Stone in the bear’s hands, it was becoming chillingly clear that the enemy shifters, who were hell bent on destroying his home town, had the upper hand.

“When I was part of the Oaks, they often spoke of the rebel clans that had been kicked off Oak Mountain. Their plan was always to ge
t back the sacred land and build a portal. That’s what they rumored to be the source of the stone’s power. They have this crazy idea that they could all have the same power that the stone has if they mine deeply enough.”

“Mine?” Jonah asked, staring at Nichols. Nichols was a huge, serious man, with a thick black beard and kind brown eyes. He was also strong. Incredibly strong. He almost put Jonah to shame. But then, they weren’t the same species. It was hard to compare. Apples and oranges.

Jonah had grown up in Stonybrooke all his life, where the only thing the wolf shifters were more prejudiced toward than humans were the bear shifters. But it was a survival instinct. Bears were always causing trouble, and now that Jonah knew the Serah Stone had always been the goal, it all made perfect sense why they were always after the people of Stonybrooke. They wanted the land. And more than that, they wanted the stone. And now they had it.

It was shocking to be so close to a bear shifter on his team; Jonah had always been taught to despise bears in all shapes and forms. But Nichols was a man with a mind of his own, raised far away from the bear settlement just outside of Stonybrooke, in a mystical place known as Oak Mountain, where Nichols swore the bear shifters there had no grudge against the wolves.

He would have to see it to believe it, but still, Jonah had grown to trust Nichols with his life. He was exceptionally talented and, somehow, had ultimately been recruited by the Navy SEALs. Jonah had met Nichols during training on the East Coast, and then bonded during deployment halfway around the world to track a group of bear shifters who had been stealing ancient wolf artifacts from museums.

It was easy to deduce that there was more to it than just a few missing items, but hearing the bear shifter speak of the Serah Stone had chilled him. Something bad was going on, and chances were high that he and his team were going to be sent to figure out just what it was. The mission was finally starting to make sense. And it all had to do with Jonah’s hometown. Stonybrooke.
