Heard it Through the Grapevine

“What about Tessa?”

  “What about her?” Lainey repeated.

“Will she always show up and talk to you?”

Lainey thought about that. “I’m not sure, but somehow I think her work here is done. She can go off and enjoy eternal peace or whatever.”

“Until a Garcia girl gets into trouble again, I’ll bet.”

Lainey smiled at the thought of her and her sisters having their own guardian angel. Then she laughed. Did she really just think angel?

She and Tessa had come a long way in their relationship, and Lainey no longer thought of her sister as the spawn of the devil, but come on. Angel?

  Not in this lifetime!

She looked up and winked. Goodbye, Tessa.
