Thorne’s breathing grew increasingly choppy as he surged in and out of Linton’s mouth. Occasionally, Thorne let go of his neck to stroke Linton’s face before he took back control, holding Linton just where he wanted him.

“You. Are. Fucking. Incredible,” Thorne whispered.

He pulled his cock out and bent to cup Linton’s chin, pulling up his face for a kiss, and Linton’s chest tightened. Then Thorne was back to thrusting his hips, fucking Linton’s mouth while holding the back and the top of his head, then his ears. Linton could just about deep-throat him. He kept his mouth wide, his tongue out and clung onto Thorne’s hips.

Thorne gave a loud cry as he came and flooded Linton’s mouth with jet after jet of tangy cum. Before Linton had finished swallowing, Thorne had him on his back, his mouth around Linton’s cock and moments later, Linton was doing some crying out of his own. Thorne crawled up to lie next to him and they lay together, chests heaving.

“I need to buy you a T-shirt,” Linton said.

  “Why?”

“One that says - Let go of my ears. I know what I’m doing.”

Thorne’s smile was so wide Linton forgot for a moment that he was fucking up the guy’s life.

  Chapter Seventeen

Linton sprawled on his stomach next to Thorne. The picnic hampers had been raided, a bottle of champagne consumed, Linton’s body didn’t ache so much anymore and they’d both fallen asleep. Linton had woken first, retrieved the pebble from his pocket and put it in the tent. Then he’d fetched his messenger bag from the Discovery. For the last thirty minutes he’d been drawing Thorne and making rough sketches of the sort of house he’d suggest if he’d been the architect.

  “Excuse me?”

Linton reacted lightning fast. He threw the blanket over Thorne and spun round, dragging the messenger bag onto his lap. A group of elderly walkers were looking down at him. They’d had an up-close encounter with his backside but far from looking embarrassed, the women were smiling.

“Sorry to bother you,” said a white-haired guy brandishing a map. “We’re lost. We spotted the vehicle and thought you might be able to help us.”

“Where are you trying to get to?” Thorne asked from under the blanket.

“Pilgrims Way. We’ve somehow taken a wrong turn.”

“I said we were on the wrong road, Gordon,” snapped a tall woman.

“We all agreed it was this way,” said another woman.

As they began to bicker, Thorne spoke from under the blanket. “Back onto the lane, turn left and it’s the second road on the left. About a mile.”

“Thank you so much. Sorry to have disturbed you.”

Once they’d gone, Linton pulled the blanket off. “You did send them the right way and not to some sewage plant?”

“Yep, it’s the right way. That was quick thinking, thanks. Not that there’s anything wrong with lying naked with your boyfriend on your own private property.” Thorne smiled.

  Linton’s heart flipped. Boyfriend?

“Shit, I’m hot.” Thorne pushed to his feet. “Fancy a dip in the lake?”

“Populated by sharks, piranhas and jelly fish?”

“Naturally.” He offered a hand to pull Linton up and tugged him in close. “I’m not ashamed of being with you.”

“I know. Otherwise, I’d have covered my head and let them see you in your full glory. Even septuagenarians have mastered Instagram and Twitter.”

Thorne held his hand tighter as they headed down the field.

“I should tell you I’m not a fan of swimming anywhere but a pool,” Linton said. “On Long Island, the group I was with tried to persuade me to go skinny dipping after the sun had gone down. There are risks and then there are risks. I mean you have a chance of seeing a shark in daylight but at night, no chance at all. Mind you, if you’re close enough to see it, it’s probably too late anyway.”

“I’m beginning to sense a fear of sharks.”

“Have you ever seen a film where sharks are the good guys?”

They reached the water’s edge and looked out over the water.

Thorne sighed. “It’s hard to believe I actually own this.”

The lake sparkled in the sunshine, looking like something off a postcard. On the left side was a jagged white wall of chalk about ten feet high and on the right a stand of trees.

“Looks as if it might have been a quarry,” Linton said.

“Let’s jump.” Thorne nodded toward the rock face.

“Let’s not. You don’t know if it’s deep enough, nor what’s on the bottom.”

“I had it surveyed when I bought the land. There’s regulations over what you can do if there are certain types of fish in it. Sharks for example. It’s ten feet at the deepest point which is right under that rock face.” Thorne tugged at Linton but Linton pulled free.

“I’m going the easy way in.”

“Bet you can’t walk in without stopping.”

Linton put one foot in the water and groaned, but kept going. It was freezing and the bottom shelved quickly so he had to swim after a few yards.

  “What’s it like?” Thorne yelled.

Linton turned on his back to look at him. “Lovely.”

  “Liar.”

“Are you coming in? Did you fucking trick me?”

“I just wanted to see if you’d wimp out.”

Linton watched as Thorne made his way around to the chalk outcrop and clambered barefoot to the top. He had a sudden bad feeling about this. Even if the water was ten feet deep, the sudden shock of the cold could be dangerous. Linton was a risk taker, but he was also Mr Sensible when it mattered.

“Thorne! Get down from there and come in the difficult way.”

Linton swam faster to where Thorne would land. There was a sudden splash as Thorne dive-bombed into the lake and Linton caught a mouthful of water. He expected Thorne to bob up next to him but he didn’t. It briefly crossed his mind it was a trick but after a couple more seconds Linton duck-dived and powered down through the water.

He spotted Thorne struggling to pull his foot free of something and kicked to the bottom to try and help him. Thorne was tangled in orange mesh, the sort used as temporary fencing. It was wrapped tightly around his ankle. Linton tried to help stretch it to give Thorne room to slip free but it seemed to be getting fucking tighter. Linton kept trying even while he was running out of air because he was all too aware Thorne was going to drown if he didn’t succeed, but when Thorne tapped him on the shoulder and pointed up, Linton went up.

Two deep breaths later, he was back at Thorne’s side, pinching the guy’s nose, forcing air into his mouth and pushing down on Thorne’s shoulders to try and take the pressure off his foot as they both wrenched at the plastic. Fuck it. He needed a knife but by the time he’d swum out, run to the picnic hamper and back, Thorne would have drowned. Linton surfaced again, grabbed more air and fed it to Thorne. He knew Thorne was losing the fight. He hadn’t quite given up but he was putting less effort into getting free. But finally, the plastic seemed to be stretching and after one more suck of air at the surface, one more exhale into Thorne’s mouth, Linton managed to pull him loose. He held onto Thorne and kicked for the surface.

They both gasped as their heads broke water and for a moment Thorne fought him as if he thought he was still trapped.

“It’s okay,” Linton panted. “You’re okay.”

He wrapped an arm around Thorne’s chest and swam on his back, dragging him to the shore. When he felt the bottom under his heels, Linton pulled him a few more feet before they collapsed at the edge of the water. That had been too close.

It was a while before their breathing eased.

“Where’s the most dangerous place…you’ve ever kissed?” Thorne gasped.

Linton let out a choked laugh. “I think we just found it… Oh fuck.”

Thorne leaned up on one elbow. “If you hadn’t… I thought I was going to die.” He let out a shuddering exhale. “Shit. Thank you. That sound
s nowhere near enough.”

“That will teach you not to be so impulsive.”

  “And not to show off.”

“Come on. We need to warm up. Let’s see if that shower works.”

Linton had to help Thorne to his feet. They were both shaky but Thorne was worse. They slowly made their way back up to the tent and Linton pushed Thorne down onto the blanket while he fathomed out the shower. He found a hosepipe gun in the back and fastened it to the pipe coming from the bag on the roof, then grabbed a towel and put it on the bonnet.

Thorne was uncharacteristically quiet and visibly shaking. Linton thought it was probably shock. He helped Thorne to the Discovery and propped him up against the side of the vehicle. Linton held the nozzle above Thorne’s head and pressed the trigger. Warm water splashed onto Linton and tremors rippled down his body. He felt as if he’d only just had time to register that he was cold too. Thorne tipped back his head and let the water fall on his face.

  “Oh God,” Thorne moaned.

Linton sprayed the water all over Thorne, then grabbed the towel and dried him. Thorne looked pale and exhausted.

“You need a doctor to check you out?” Linton asked.

“No, I’m just tired.” He bent to rub the red mark on his ankle.

Linton wrapped a blanket around him and led him to the tent. “Lie down. I’ll make us something warm to drink. I saw a little stove in the treasure chest.”

“No. Just lie with me for a bit.”

“Let me just shower off that lake.”

By the time Linton crawled into the tent bringing his messenger bag, together with a small hanging light he’d found in the vehicle and the car keys, Thorne was asleep, the pebble in his fingers. Linton smiled and lay down at his side.

Thorne came round with a gasp of alarm, registered where he was, that he was still alive, and that Linton lay next to him and he sank back into the mattress. Linton had saved his life. If he hadn’t been so quick-thinking… Thorne shuddered. He’d done a reckless thing jumping off that outcrop. As he’d climbed it, he’d thought it was dangerous, the rock surface too unstable, but he’d been showing off and didn’t want to back down. Arrogance had almost cost him his life.

When he moved his hand, his fingers brushed against something cold. The pebble Linton had left for him. He smiled. I’m falling for this guy. Except Linton had a secret and Thorne felt like Pandora, which was enough to break his smile. He had to know what that secret was. While Linton slept, Thorne reached for the messenger bag and carefully opened it. There wasn’t much in it. A phone—he thought about checking the texts but didn’t, a wallet, sketch pad and pencils. Ah and condoms and lube. Thorne smiled. He took out the sketch pad and turned to the first page.

Wow. Linton could draw. Christ. He really could. It looks like me. There were several pages of Thorne lying naked drawn from different angles, yet none of them too revealing. Linton had also drawn a number of houses. Thorne liked all of them. Maybe he could give a drawing to an architect to work from.

“Which do you like the best?” Linton asked.

Thorne hadn’t noticed him wake. “The one where you’ve made my cock look enormous.”

Linton gave him that little crooked smile and Thorne grinned. “Why the hell aren’t you an architect? It has to pay better than graphic design.”

Linton’s smile faded. “A long story. How are you feeling?”

“Lucky that I bumped into you in that pub.”

“But if you hadn’t, you wouldn’t have jumped off that rock to impress me.”

  “Shit, was I that obvious?”

“I was impressed until you didn’t come up. If that helps.”

Thorne groaned. “Maybe I’d have done it to impress someone else. Someone who wouldn’t have thought of breathing into my mouth, someone who’d have let me drown.”

“Or maybe someone who would have drowned trying to save you. You didn’t cling on to me. You indicated I should surface.”

“I think that was a—go and get help.”

Linton shook his head. “No it wasn’t. There was no help. There was only me.”

Thorne put his hand on Linton’s bruised cheek. “For as long as I live, I’ll never forget what you did for me.”

Linton turned his mouth to Thorne’s hand and kissed his palm. “Thank you for not panicking, not drowning me, not dying. That would have been so fucking difficult to explain, assuming I survived.” He nipped the fleshy part under Thorne’s thumb. “So which house do you like the best?”

Thorne flicked back to the first drawing and looked at them all again. “What’s your reasoning behind each of them?”

“Nothing other than making use of the view, noting the things you wanted, such as the gym and tiger play facility. I lined up the rooms, joined them by different means but the layout inside would be similar. I think you need to walk in to light, have a welcome aspect for any guest, so you see the view straightaway, not have it fractured by a wall or support posts. I think—” Linton suddenly clammed up.

  “What’s wrong?”

  “Nothing.”

There obviously was. “I like this one.” Thorne turned to the last sketch.

  “Why?”

“I like the dramatic way it crosses the hill. Like a bird, wings outstretched.”

Linton smiled. “Just like a bird. Not a penguin though.”

“Don’t get back onto necrophiliac penguins. But thank you for my pebble.”

  Is he blushing?

  “Are you hungry?” Linton asked.

“Not for food.” Thorne pulled him into his arms and pressed his mouth to Linton’s ear. “Fuck me.”

  Linton groaned.

Thorne swallowed hard. “Was that a—I can’t wait to get my cock inside you groan? Or a—do I have to do everything groan?”

  “Shut up.”

In two swift moves Linton propelled Thorne facedown then up on his knees. Thorne pressed his face into the mattress and Linton kissed his way the length of his spine and along the crease of his butt. When Linton slid his tongue into the seam, Thorne squirmed with delight and only just swallowed his whimper. If Linton could just keep doing that for the next few decades… Oh God, it might be bad but it felt so fucking good.

Thorne’s cock was already hard, and his balls ached. He felt his chest tightening as Linton fluttered his tongue over the entrance to his body.

  And he kept doing it.

Thorne’s brain turned to fog. Suspended in a state of intense bliss, he could do little more than grip the edge of the mattress and breathe. Am I breathing? The tongue turned into a lubed finger, then two fingers and Thorne could no longer prevent the cries surging up from deep inside him.

“Oh fuck, fuck. That’s so good. Jesus, Linton.”

Linton was leaning over him, panting against his back, his cock jammed against Thorne’s thigh. Between pants Linton was licking, kissing and sucking Thorne’s neck as he finger-fucked him. When those fingers curled to stroke Thorne’s prostate, he almost levitated both of them off the mattress. His cries turned to long wrenching sobs of delight.

“Like my two-headed cock?” Linton laughed in his ear.

Thorne choked out a moan. “I might worry if I knew that wasn’t true.”

Linton pulled away and Thorne wanted the warmth back. The snap of latex and squelch of lube sounded overloud in the tent. Then there was blunt pressure against his anus and Thorne couldn’t help but tense. Linton pressed his fingers into Thorne’s hips as he rocked against him, and Thorne rocked back into Linton. With each push forward, Linton pressed harder against the resistant ring of muscle until Thorne was desperate. Even more desperate.

“I need you inside me. Now.”

“Slow and gentle? Fast and furious? Or would you like to be surprised?”

“God, you have that much control? I don’t care. I just want you.”

“I could keep doing this for a few hours. I like the way your whole body shudders.”

  Thorne gritted
his teeth. “Is that all?”

“You’ve a…very attractive mole on your left shoulder blade. Shape of a dragon.”

“Fuck you.” Thorne laughed. “I do not.”

“You want compliments?” Linton rocked until his cock pushed through the muscle barrier and lodged just inside Thorne.

Thorne let out a wail. “I just want you.”

With one long thrust, Linton buried himself deep, and they both gave a loud groan. Now Linton was the one making more noise, grunting and gasping with each shunt of his hips. Thorne caught fire, his entire body electrified. He managed to get one hand to his cock and the relief when he squeezed it sent heat racing along his veins. Linton was powering into him, moving faster and faster. Thorne wasn’t sure anyone had fucked him so fast before. The friction was mind-blowing. He jerked harder on his cock.

“Can’t you go any faster?” Thorne managed to say and felt Linton shake as he laughed.

  “I’m already in hyperdrive.”

Thorne bucked up into Linton’s thrusts, trying to match the speed as he pulled on his cock but not for long. Coordination was beyond him. All he could do was let himself be drawn onto the runaway train and enjoy the ride.

He came moments before Linton who let out one long groan and slumped on Thorne’s body. Cum coated Thorne’s fingers and with Linton’s weight on his back, he slumped onto the mattress. Linton lay motionless for a moment, his warm body wrapped around Thorne’s while their breathing calmed. Once the condom was gone, Thorne pulled Linton close and brought their faces together. Linton’s eyes fluttered closed but for some reason, Thorne thought he was pretending to sleep.
