  “I can stop,” he said.

  “Oh. N-no. Don’t stop.”

He lowered his head and licked a trail right up the middle of her slit, ending at her clit. He coaxed it out with the tip of his tongue, circling and licking until it peeked out of its hood, and she arched up and into his face. He lifted her by the ass, bringing her up to his mouth, and dove in with far more interest than he’d had for dessert. This was his guilty pleasure, his favorite taste in the world, and she was a smorgasbord of delightful surprises. He hadn’t expected her to be bare, but she was, and smooth as silk. When he stabbed his tongue inside of her, she got even wetter, her juices coating his face.

He’d never been with a more responsive woman, and he pushed a finger inside of her as he sucked her clit.

“Miikka!” She cried out his name, writhing against his face, her fingernails digging into his scalp. He sucked harder, drawing out her orgasm until she was alternately moving against him and then trying to get away. When she finally stopped moving, she almost slid off the couch and her skin was coated in a light sheen of sweat.

“This is way better than cheesecake,” he whispered.

  12

Her eyes were closed and she hadn’t moved, so he lifted to his knees, still between her legs. “Char-lot? Are you okay?”

She didn’t open her eyes but smiled. “Oh, yes. It was just so good I might be a little broken, because I can’t move.”

He chuckled, leaning forward to kiss her. Her eyes opened in surprise. “Do you not like your taste?”

“I never…” She cut off and kissed him instead, her motions curious, nibbling his lips and sucking on his tongue. “Do you like doing that?” she whispered after a moment. “Tasting me?”

“Going down on a woman is my favorite. Cheesecake is nothing compared to the taste of you. I love it.” He got to his feet and held out his hands. “Come.”

  “Where?”

  “Bed.”

She slowly took his hands and let him pull her to her feet. He led her up the stairs and into the master bedroom. He stripped off his jeans and boxers and got on the bed, pulling her with him.

“Do you want me as much as I want you?” he whispered.

“Yes.” She was shy and nervous and a little overwhelmed, but there wasn’t a chance in hell she was saying no. It had been so long since she’d been intimate with anyone, and one look at his naked body was enough to remove all remnants of doubt. Even if he walked out the door and she never heard from him again, she wanted to know what it would be like to have a man with a body like his touching her.

And he was truly magnificent. Long and lean, he wasn’t particularly muscular, but every inch of him was hard and toned. The muscles in his thighs had flexed as he’d walked to the bed, and the V made by his oblique muscles led her eyes to his happy trail. It was made up of pale red hair and ended at the most perfect cock she’d ever seen. Well, she’d only seen two in person, but she’d watched some porn here and there and Miikka put them all to shame. He wasn’t huge but he wasn’t small, and his cock bobbed against his groin area, thick and erect.

“Do you have a condom?” she asked as he crawled on top of her.

“Yes.” He showed her the packet in his hand.

  “Kiss me, Miikka.”

His mouth found hers more forcefully than he had before, devouring her as his tongue captured hers. It was passionate and sensual and so, so good. His hands were pure magic, all over her, coaxing her into a state of arousal she hadn’t felt in a long time. Maybe not ever.

She was so lost in his touch—his hands, his mouth, his hard body—she almost missed feeling him sliding into her. It was exquisite, and he moved so slowly, she was momentarily mesmerized. He pressed his forehead to hers, their gazes locked, and they simultaneously groaned.

“You’re beautiful,” he whispered, his hands searching for hers and lacing the fingers of both hands together. He murmured something in Finnish that she didn’t understand, but she didn’t care anyway because he’d started to move and everything went a little fuzzy from there.

Being intimate with Miikka was unlike anything she’d ever experienced. He was equal parts passionate and tender, completely focused on her pleasure. Every stroke of his cock, swipe of his tongue, and even the look in his eyes, pushed her closer and closer to ecstasy. She wasn’t used to it, most of her sexual experiences mediocre at best, and this was almost like the first time again. Except not painful, not awkward and so wonderfully romantic.

Miikka murmured in Finnish, occasionally throwing in some English, but even if her brain didn’t understand the words, her body did.

“Miikka…” She needed to say his name. It slipped from her lips before she could stop it. She felt it, as if saying his name was a physical manifestation of something incredibly important.

“Tell me what you like,” he whispered. “Harder? Slower? What gets you off?”

“You get me off,” she whispered back, kissing him. “Take me, Miikka. Make me come.”

He flipped them over so she was on top, and the pressure on her clit made her gasp. She’d never liked this position before, too insecure and unsure of herself to be comfortable, but that wasn’t the case now. He guided their rhythm until she was grinding against him, hips undulating, picking up speed. When he pinched her clit between two of his fingers, the coiling in her belly started to expand, racing through her veins and exploding out in an orgasm that made her scream.

He thrust up hard and deep, pulsing inside of her and pushing her over the edge again, until the world blurred out of control.

When she opened her eyes again, she’d collapsed against him, and he was whispering to her in Finnish.

  “English,” she said softly.

“Sorry.” He kissed the side of her face. “I was telling you how beautiful you are when you come.”

“I don’t know what you looked like,” she admitted with a giggle. “I came so hard I couldn’t see.”

“This is my goal,” he said, wrapping his arms around her tightly. “To make you enjoy.”

  “I definitely enjoyed it.”

“Five minutes and we go again.”

She glanced up at him. “You’ll be hard again in five minutes?”

“Probably two, but maybe you need to rest?”

Charli hadn’t woken up next to a man since college, and seeing Miikka sprawled across her bed on his stomach, one arm around her waist, the other tucked under the pillow, was a beautiful sight. They’d had a lot of sex last night, at least four times, and she was sore but spectacularly sated. Her body hummed with the memories of what they’d done, and watching him sleep beside her had her turned on all over again. He was so handsome, even in his sleep, and with nothing but a sheet covering his lower half, she got to enjoy a lovely view of his back.

There was a tattoo of the number forty-four, which was his jersey number, on his right shoulder blade and a small scar on his right shoulder. She wanted to lean over and lick them but she figured he needed his rest. She had a feeling there would be plenty more sex today once he was awake, and she wanted to surprise him with breakfast anyway. She’d never cooked for a man, beyond the chicken and dumplings the other night, and she slid out of bed with a little grin.

She would make blueberry pancakes and bacon, something she had a feeling Miikka didn’t eat much. While he’d undoubtedly had bacon, if he hadn’t had meatloaf, he probably hadn’t tried blueberry pancakes either.

She freshened up in the bathroom and went downstairs. She made a pot of coffee in her old-fashioned coffee maker, lamenting the fact she didn’t have one of those new ones that used pods to make one cup at a time. She would have liked to try different flavors, occasionally make a cappuccino or something, but there were always more important expenses and she really only drank coffee at home on the weekends since the school provided coffee to the teachers.

She hummed as she mixed the pancake batter and warmed up her griddle. She’d read an article about cooking bacon in the
oven instead of in a pan, so she lined a rectangular pan with parchment paper and put it in the oven as she poured the batter to make the first six pancakes.

“Good morning.” Miikka came up behind her, wrapping his arms around her waist and resting his head on her shoulder. “I was going to take you out for breakfast.”

“More fun to eat here,” she said with a smile. “Because then I can take you back upstairs and ravage you again.”

He rumbled out a laugh. “Yes, this is excellent idea.” He paused. “What is this you make? Pancake?”

“Blueberry pancakes. You’re not allergic to blueberries, are you?”

He shook his head. “I’m allergic to nothing.”

“Good.” She handed him a coffee mug. “There’s creamer in the fridge and sugar on the table.”

“I like black.” He poured himself a cup and watched her. “I can help?”

“No. You just watch and then eat. Do you like pancakes?”

  “I never have.”

She groaned. “Seriously? What do you eat?”

“Steak, chicken, fish. Eggs and bacon. Vegetables. Sometimes pasta, but mostly protein and vegetables. Is better for hockey.”

“Well, you might have to teach me to eat better because I love potatoes and pasta.”

“You aren’t professional athlete,” he said. “I have to eat a certain way for the job. You can eat what you want.”

“Well, I’ll try to be better about cooking healthy when I cook for you,” she said, flipping the first round of pancakes. She leaned over to check the bacon, decided it wasn’t ready, and went back to the griddle.

“I like watching you in the kitchen,” he said after a moment. “I imagine you on the counter…legs open, me eating you…”

Her cheeks burned with embarrassment but she was smiling. “Food first, then all your sexy fantasies.”

“I can put you on the counter?”

Their eyes locked. “After breakfast, you can put me anywhere.”

After breakfast, Miikka helped her clean up and then did just as he’d suggested. He set her on the counter, spread her legs and went down on her. He didn’t stop until she’d come twice and then he threw her over his shoulder, took her back upstairs, and fucked her until neither of them could move. He had a high libido, but this was a lot, even for him. They were out of condoms, though, so he was going to have to go out if they were going to do it again.

“I’m dead,” she announced, lying flat on her back with one arm thrown over her eyes.

“Yes?” He lifted her arm to peer into her eyes. “I think you are alive.”

She laughed. “Maybe. But I can’t move, so it’s hard to tell.”

“Tonight we go out for food, okay?”

“Okay. But I don’t mind cooking. And you ate a lot of pancakes for someone who’s never had them before.”

“Yes, but without dishwasher, so much work to clean.”

“Yeah, and it looks like I need a new one.”

“We can buy today,” he suggested, turning onto his side. “We can go to—”

“Miikka, you’re not buying me a dishwasher.” She gave him a look.

“Has been three weeks now, so it’s time for another payment for English lessons.”

“Miikka. We both know a dishwasher will cost a lot more than what people would normally pay for English classes.”

“How do we know this?” he demanded, putting a hand on her hip and starting to trace little circles on her skin. “You’re available every day for me, we talk on phone every night… This is very personal service. No school offers this.” His eyes bore into hers. “Also, I like to help. We’re friends, yes?”

“And lovers,” she said slowly. “Which gives everything a different meaning.”

“No.” He shook his head firmly. “It changes nothing. Makes me want to help more, not less. This isn’t payment for sex—you know this. That insults not just you, but me also. You’re my friend, maybe now my girlfriend, so why can’t I do nice things for you?”

“I don’t know,” she admitted. “It just feels…weird.”

“If you feel very strongly, you can pay me back, okay?” he suggested, leaning over to kiss her. “I just want to do things that make you happy and washing dishes by hand makes no one happy.”

She sighed. “You have to promise me you won’t ever throw this in my face,” she whispered.

“I don’t understand this phrase.” He squinted slightly.

“Make me feel bad about the dishwasher. Like, say we break up and decide not to go out anymore… You can’t say something like, ‘Well, I bought you a dishwasher so you’re a bitch for not paying me back.’”

His mouth fell open. “Why would… No. This isn’t…” He couldn’t even figure out how to respond to this. “This is terrible! I would never do such a thing. I bought Jaana a car when she went to university, because it was far for her to go back and forth. I never asked for anything, not even when we broke up. This is…” He went off in a torrent of Finnish that had Charli smiling even though she probably didn’t understand a word of it.

“I need to learn some Finnish,” she said when he stopped.

“Yes, I have ideas for this.” He rolled onto his back and brought her with him, setting her on top of him again.

She winced as she settled on his groin, and he paused. “You hurt?”

“I’m a little sore, yes. I’ve never had this much sex.”

“I’m sorry.” He moved her onto her side again and then sat up. “Come. We can take bath. Together. Will feel good down there and then we go shopping.”

She looked like she was going to protest but then smiled and lightly kissed him. “A bath sounds like a lot of fun.”

“You hurt and I have no more condoms,” he pointed out.

She smiled, looking over her shoulder as she walked towards the bathroom. “But I’m not too sore to pleasure you.”

He arched his brows and then jumped to his feet. “This is excellent idea.”

They made several stops while they were out. First to buy a dishwasher, then to buy condoms, and finally a stop at his house for him to grab what he needed for the following day so he could sleep over again. The next two games would be at home, and though he wouldn’t be traveling, he wouldn’t be able to spend much quality time with her. There was practice tomorrow, followed by a team meeting and a team dinner. There was practice again the next day, with the potential for more team meetings, and things changed regularly. He never knew when he’d had a day off, there was always another game on the schedule, and then they’d be heading out of town for a five-day road trip.

That didn’t leave much time to foster a new relationship, especially one that had become extremely sexual. He hadn’t been expecting her to want him all the time, but she did, and it was mutual. Over the course of twenty-four hours, she’d gone from shy and unsure to offering to give him a blow job, so he figured he was doing something right, but he still felt a lot of uncertainty from her. He wanted to get her to talk to him about the things in her past that gave her those trust issues, to reach a deeper level of intimacy with her. He just wasn’t sure how.

“I won’t see you until after the game,” he told her that next morning as he got ready to go. “But I’ll call.”

“Don’t worry about me. You just focus on hockey.”

“We talk tonight to practice English, yes?”

“Sure.” She leaned up and kissed him, instantly giving him an erection.

He looked down ruefully. “This is good, but this is also bad.”

She ran her hand over it through his sweats. “It’s pretty impressive you can still do that after how much sex we’ve had the last two days.”

“Never enough,” he chuckled, wrapping an arm around her and drawing her closer.

“My lady parts could probably use a rest,” she said, smiling up at him.

“You rest. When I see you after the game, you’re going to need it.

sp; The new dishwasher arrived the following day and she was so excited she was practically bouncing on her toes as it was installed. Her friend Kendra was coming over for dinner since Miikka was busy tonight and she hadn’t seen her outside of school in weeks. She was looking forward to having some girl time, though she wasn’t sure what to tell her friend about Miikka. Neither of them had dated much since they’d met, so it would be a new dynamic for them.

“Hey.” Kendra came in with a grin, holding two bags.

“You brought presents?” Charli asked, taking one bag from her.

“One bag has wine, the other has food.”

“I told you I’d make lasagna.”

“Yeah, but that’s so much work and you don’t have a dishwasher. I brought paper plates, garlic bread, and frozen lasagna, so we can toss out the foil pan it comes in. All we’ll have to wash will be glasses and some utensils.” Her brown eyes twinkled with mischief.

“Well, you’re a thoughtful friend, but surprise!” Charli led her into the kitchen and pointed to the new dishwasher. She got out two wine glasses, opened the wine and poured them each a glass as Kendra examined the new machine and they talked.

“So tell me everything,” Kendra said. “I mean, you went from zero male activity to sleeping with a hunky hockey dude who buys you expensive presents.”

Charli laughed. “He’s wonderful. Initially I thought he was kind of goofy but it’s really a front because he’s embarrassed about his English. He’s actually very sweet and caring. I’ve never met anyone like him. It’s kind of scary.”

  “Why?”

“I tend to get invested quickly,” Charli said after a moment. “I’ve been on my own a long time and sometimes I think it’s easier this way. After what my exes did to me, and the repercussions of that, I don’t know that I’ll ever fully trust anyone.”

“Your high school and college boyfriends did shitty things to you,” Kendra said softly. “And your parents are truly assholes, but you can’t let all of that define you. You’re only twenty-four and have proven you’re strong enough to get past all that. Even if Miikka turns out to be a dud, you have a lifetime to find the right guy.”
