Nancy shook her head. “No. I… swear.”

I nodded. “Good. Now, tell me, what did she find out?”

“The… K—K—Kill—” her voice trailed off as she looked at me, confusion written all over her face.

Come on, spit it out, bitch. “Tell me, Nancy. What do they know about the Killing Game?”

  “That you… you’re a member.”

Yeah, I thought this bitch knew more than she had let on. “Does she know that you make my money drops for me and who you give the money to?”

“I… I onnnly toold her that I make the dr…drops. She does… doesn’t know… about Mr. Chance,” Nancy stammered, revealing a new player.

“What do you know of Mr. Chance, Nancy?”

“He always… collects your… money,” she replied in her drugged-up state, her words slurring in between pauses. One had to have a lot of patience when interrogating someone who was pretty much high as fuck.

“When was the last drop that you made to Mr. Chance for me?”

  “Two months… ago.”

  “How much was it?”

“One million, two… hundred thousand dollars. You always… pay in cash… no trail,” Nancy said as if she admired her boss’ shrewdness.

It was true. Jordan had discovered this info about the mayor through her IP address that wasn’t as protected as she thought it was. Jordan had done a money trace and discovered that Cecily’s funds came through illegal means. The more I questioned Nancy, the more I was seeing her as an accomplice rather than someone who was just forced to do their job, even if they didn’t want to. It was time for me to continue the interrogation.

I smiled. “That’s right, Nancy. I had won the bet that night. Do you remember?” I wanted to see just how much Nancy knew.

Nancy laughed in a drunken manner. “I remember. It was a fat man with… sweaty skin… looked like he stank.”

I laughed to play along. “Yeah, that’s right. He was disgusting. What did I want done to him, Nancy?”

“It was… awesome. You’re soooo gooood… to me, baby. I love you,” Nancy cooed, and I had to maintain my demeanor after that revelation. So apparently, Nancy and Cecily were also lovers. I wondered if Mercedes knew. Furthermore, this bitch was as guilty as Cecily since she was sitting back and enjoying the show as well. Dainty, delicate flowers my ass. Women could be just as horrible, viscous, and evil as any man. Lucky for me, I was an equal opportunity avenger, baby. I didn’t discriminate when it came to getting justice, and Nancy was about to learn that first hand. But before I put an end to her… just a few more questions.

I interrogated her ass for another hour, getting her itinerary for Cecily, all the way down to which flavor coffee she liked and from where. I also learned a great deal about Cecily’s finances and how some of the money she used to pay her annual fee came from city taxes. Fucking crooked ass politicians got on my damn nerves. But I learned that when money was involved, very few people were honest. In addition to all that info, I was able to confirm that Nancy knew how Cecily’s last victim had died and it was pretty fucking horrible. Damn, thinking back, it was beyond horrible.

I know I believed in an eye for an eye, but this shit was going to test even my limits.

“You did so good telling me the truth, Nancy,” I told her, and she smiled like a little obedient puppy.

  “I will always… be… loyal… Cecil…Cecily,” she slurred.

“Yes, you are.” Thanks to all the information Nancy had given me, I knew just how I was going to take out Cecily. I had all my men’s clothes in the trunk of my car, but had managed to stuff a pair of black boxers in my purse. I was tired of looking like a woman, and even though I would have to take Nancy’s form in the morning, I wanted to sleep in my own skin for the night.

I stood up while Nancy watched, then leaned over, gagging her again. Chances were this little show was going to freak her out. I didn’t want her screaming and attracting attention. Now that I had her undivided attention—well, as much as I was going to get considering the drugs she was on, I began my transformation. Her eyes widened as she saw my body grow taller, firmer, and more muscular. My vagina dropped two balls and my cock grew, which had been a missed feeling between my legs. Hair grew on my arms and legs and dusted my chest; and before long, I had my own male body again. It was going to hurt like hell when I had to change into Nancy, but it was worth it to be me again.

Also, the look of shock and horror on Nancy’s face after witnessing my transformation was priceless. I walked into the bathroom and retrieved my purse, then returned to her bedroom. Climbing onto the bed, I removed the scalpel from my purse and held it up for her to see. Her eyes grew even wider as more sweat beaded her flesh. She was drugged, but still had enough sense to know she was in danger.

“I was going to let you live if you were just a person who made a dumb decision and felt trapped by your boss and her evil dealings. That was until you told me that you enjoy watching people be tortured to death. Well, that just changed up my whole plan.”

I took the scalpel and began carving my name, Cobra, into her chest, right between her perky breasts. She cried and whimpered as blood bubbled up from the wounds. I made sure to go deep with it, too, so it would really hurt.

“I like to leave my calling card on some of my victims whose crimes were so horrendous they deserved to stand as warnings to others,” I said as I worked on the “A” in Cobra. “Ah, there. That’s as nice as it’s going to get.”

I looked at my handiwork and had to admit I had shitty penmanship. I never said I was an artist, and carving on human flesh wasn’t the easiest canvas to work on. It looked slightly better than when I carved my name on Mr. Darring’s chest. So, that was good news.

“Did that hurt?” I asked her, and she nodded as tears and snot streamed freely down her face. She looked gross and I was glad she was scared. Now she knew how her victims had felt. Yeah, I was calling that last guy, and whomever else the mayor had killed for their enjoyment, her victims. She kept twisting on the bed, trying her best to escape, as she screamed with the gag in her mouth.

I pressed her back down on the bed. “Hold still now. I’m not done carving my message into your flesh.” I took my scalpel and began slicing more words into her abdomen. She cried and screamed the whole time. She thrashed so much on the bed, I had to straddle her in order to keep her still while I did my work. I must have looked like a mad man to her, and that was fine with me. People who made others feel terror needed to know what it felt like.

I sat back and looked at my work. The message I carved on her stomach was beautiful… except for the motherfucking typo. Damn it! It was this bitch’s fault for squirming, that was why I spelled “Killing” wrong. Instead of my clever message reading: I watched someone tortured to death on the Killing Game and now I’m dead, it read: I watched someone tortured to death on the Killng Game and now I’m dead. That damn typo took away from the full effect. Sure, I could do the little “i” over the letter and add the little arrow to indicate where it was supposed to go, but that would be worse.

Maybe I could squeeze it in. It wouldn’t look pretty, but my handwriting was craptastic anyway. I did just that, carving a little crooked “i” in between the “l” and “n”. There, now I was satisfied. Nancy’s torso was a bloody mess and she was beside herself with fear. I could smell her piss as it soaked through the mattress. Since I wasn’t some psychotic killer, I decided to go on and end her pain. I was saving the real show for Cecily anyway.

“When you meet your maker, tell him who sent you, bitch,” I growled, then slashed the blade of my scalpel across her neck. Blood poured from the gaping wound as she struggled to breathe. Her eyes bulged from their sockets as she stared at me until her life drained away with the flow coming from her throat. I had a few splatters of her blood on me, so I took the opportunity to take a shower. Afterwards, I slipped into my black boxers and looked back at Nancy. She was good and dead. I removed my gag and restraints. I wasn
t worried about my finger prints being on evidence, because I no longer had any. Mercedes’ prints wouldn’t raise any eyebrows because she was Nancy’s girlfriend and her prints would be found all over the place. The murder weapons wouldn’t be around for them to investigate.

Fact of the matter was, I had paid for those items and planned to use them again. As for Nancy’s body, I was going to leave it just the way it was. I did want to take a photo to show her good friend and lover, Cecily. So, I snapped a few images from various angles with my burner phone and then I raided Nancy’s clothes, picking out an outfit I was going to wear for tomorrow. According to Nancy, the Mayor’s driver picked her up promptly at six in the morning, which was just evil as fuck.

Anyway, once Nancy got picked up, she went to Cuppa Joe’s Beans and Bagels for a Macchiato and sour cream and chives bagel for Cecily. Nancy preferred a French vanilla latte and a glazed donut. Truth be told, I was looking forward to eating that donut tomorrow. I wasn’t too much for coffee, Jordan loved the shit. I’d take an apple juice or smoothie any day over coffee. Unless it was one of those coffees that tasted sweet and creamy like a frappe.

I got my outfit together, then walked out of the bedroom. No way did I want to spend any more time in there with a rotting corpse. I closed the curtains and sat my ass on her sofa and started watching TV.

“Are you done?” Jordan asked about thirty minutes later.

  “Yeah, what’s up?”

“Listening to you kill her was… was something. A totally new experience for me. Do me a favor, next time, cut off your com until you need me again,” Jordan replied.

“Was it too much for you?”

“Kind of,” he said. “I had to turn my com off. I just turned it back on. Don’t get me wrong, I am completely on board with what you did. She deserved to die. I just—”

“Don’t want to see it or hear it,” I supplied.

  “Yeah.”

“Okay, no worries, J. I’ll spare you Cecily’s death,” I said.

  “Thanks.”

  “Okay, so what’s up?”

  Chapter Eleven

“I’m just worried about how you’re going to deal with Cecily’s security team tomorrow.”

I had been thinking about how I was going to handle the four-man security team while I was watching TV. “Well, I’ve got enough sedatives to take out the two who will be in the car with us. As for the other two following, I plan on shooting them with my tranquilizer gun. Once I have them neutralized, I can pull the two out of the car, disable the tracking, and take Cecily someplace private.”

“Sounds like a solid plan,” Jordan agreed, then he hissed. “Jesus, these people deserve to burn in hell for eternity.”

“Yes, they do, and I’m sending them there as fast as I can.”

“I know. I’m proud of you, but please make sure you keep yourself grounded.”

I frowned. “What do you mean by that?”

He sighed. “I know you’re this badass dude who can sleep just fine with blood on your hands. I just don’t want you to be like that. Enjoying the kill too much.”

Ahhh, my guy was worried about my conscience. “Don’t worry about me, J. I like that I’m making them pay. Do I enjoy killing them? I’d be lying if I said no. A part of me likes watching them in fear, but that’s only because they deserve it. I don’t get off on just anyone suffering. You know I’m not crazy.”

“You’re a little crazy,” Jordan half joked.

I chuckled. “Maybe a little. But I’m the right kind of crazy. You’ve got to be in order to do what needs to be done in this world when dealing with people without souls.”

“All right. I just want to make sure you’re staying grounded.”

“Don’t worry, I am.” Hell, if I wasn’t, I would have done even more crazy shit to Nancy before I killed her. I just wanted to give them back what they had given others.

“Okay, try to get as much info as you can about this Mr. Chance,” Jordan said, getting back on track.

“Don’t worry, I will… well, at least what Cecily knows about him. I’m going to have to figure out a way to meet him.”

“Isn’t that going to be difficult? I mean, from what I’ve gathered, it’s like he only comes around to pick up the money she owes. So far, she didn’t win last night’s bid.”

Ugh, speaking of the last bid the bitch had won, it reminded me that I needed to get a certain element for when I got ready to torture her. I wasn’t looking forward to that, either. “Well, I’m going to be assuming the identity of her assistant for tomorrow. She trusts her with a great deal of her secrets.”

“Where are you going to take her after you snatch her up?”

“I’ve got a location set up. A property development that’s been on her books to finish construction on for the past year. So far, construction has been called off. I’m guessing the money designated for that project has been paying for her pastime. I think it’s a fitting location for her corpse to be found.”

“Let’s hope they actually find the damn thing.”

“Yeah, I know what you mean. I’m half tempted to call the police and give them the whereabouts of Mr. Jingles.”

“I’m sure. I bet they’ll find him soon.”

“I hope so. I’ve got a message I want out there.”

“They’ll be terrified once it gets out, too. So far, the Killing Game hasn’t opened their site up tonight. I guess they’re getting more victims for these assholes to bid on,” Jordan said with enough contempt in his voice to have me feeling his hate through the wireless waves of my phone.

“We’ll be taking them down soon,” I assured him.

“I know. Stay safe and keep me abreast of what’s going on with you,” he said.

  “I will. Stay safe yourself.”

“My number one priority,” Jordan said before saying goodbye.

I turned off my com to save the battery and put it on the table. Before I got too comfortable, I took the form of Nancy again, then put on a T-shirt, jeans, and shoes. I snatched up her keys and left to gather the one thing I wasn’t too keen on. But Cecily needed to have this during her interrogation. After about an hour of searching, I finally found what I was looking for. When I returned, I washed my hands soooo many times, trying to get the filth and grossness off my fingers. I should have brought a pair of gloves with me. I was looking for some in Nancy’s townhouse, and thank goodness I found a pair of yellow dishwashing gloves in one of the kitchen drawers. I would be using those tomorrow, that was for sure.

I raided Nancy’s fridge because I was hungry. She had a lot of lame ass healthy food in the damn thing and I had to pick between tofu burgers or a salad. I chose the salad. It was the most appetizing between the two evils. Also, I didn’t have to cook. I ate, then began my search of her apartment, looking for anything that could help me figure out who was behind the website. I found Nancy’s laptop, cell, and tablet. I’d be taking those items with me tomorrow, if only to continue to look the part.

I broke into her filing cabinet, looking through old bill receipts and tax returns, but nothing really tell-tale about the Killing Game stood out. I was sure there was something in there that might shed light on Mayor Danvers money schemes, but nothing I cared about, really. All would be exposed soon. I was getting tired and it was getting late… or early, depending on how you looked at it. It was two in the morning and I had to be up in three hours. I removed my contacts and laid my ass down on the sofa, then let my body and mind drift off to dreamland.

  ***

My alarm clock woke me up at five a.m., and I couldn’t have been more pissed. I grumbled a few choice curse words as I climbed off the sofa. I showered quickly, then got dressed in Nancy’s clothes. I hated wearing the garter belt, thigh highs, and heels. Why did women put themselves through this bullshit? I was hoping to wear a business-like pants suit, but apparently, Nancy didn’t believe in them. The only pants she owned were a few pairs of skinny jeans. I knew I couldn’t wear them to City
Hall.

I wasn’t very good at putting on make-up either, but I did okay with lip stick, so that was the only thing I added to my face. I popped in my contacts after I squirted the perfume on that Nancy said Cecily favored the most. I wanted Cecily to not suspect anything until I was ready to reveal my intentions. I had my bag with my costume and more weapons in it, which I had grabbed out of the trunk of my car after I got back the night before. It was the perfect place to hide everything. I was now fully dressed in my bitch power suit and ready to raise some hell.

Like clockwork, I received a phone call from the driver, letting me know he was outside. I gathered up everything and headed out the door. I wouldn’t be returning to this place ever again. I left the townhouse and made my way downstairs. The driver, Carl, held the door open for me and greeted me cheerfully, which I returned.

“Can you put this in the trunk. I’m going to the gym later,” I said, handing him my duffle bag.

He nodded. “Yes, ma’am.” He took my bag from me and snorted. “You taking your own weights to the gym with you?” Noting the heaviness as he put my bag in the trunk.

“Yes. Sometimes it’s hard to find the ones you want there.”

“Fair enough.” He held the door open for me and I climbed in, and we were off to the café place.

I made sure to purchase the right order and got back into the car. We made our way to Cecily’s million-dollar townhome in the nice area of the city, just barely on the border of a rich suburb. Hell, one more block and this bitch would be in violation of city living standards. There were three bodyguards waiting outside of her home, looking the part; dark glasses, suits, and stone faces. Yeah, they meant business but were nothing I couldn’t handle. The mayor walked out of her townhouse and her guards sprang into action. They escorted her to the car as the driver held the door open for her. She climbed in and was all about business.

“Please tell me you scheduled my appointment at the salon after work?” Cecily greeted.

“Yes, ma’am.” I handed her the cup of coffee, nicely laced with a powerful sedative, and her bagel. I’d placed the drug in her drink on the way over. I took note of Cecily’s guards, one had climbed into the passenger side of our car and the other two climbed into a black sedan.
