Body and Soul

“I’m just so fucking excited for you, babe. It’s going to be amazing. Jake, I hope you and Oz can come.”
I looked over at Oz, holding Atticus and saying something that made my mom and Zoey burst out laughing.
“Unfortunately, I can’t. Xander and I are taking our first group of kids for the season out the day after tomorrow. We’ll be gone for a week. I’m sure Oz would love to go, though. Maybe he and Bennett can ride together and take Lucky.”
Ash’s brow furrowed. “But we thought you were going back to work in medicine. Bennett told Aiden you were in line to take over the practice from the local doctor here.”
I nodded. “I am. It’s just taking a while to get my license back… lots of red tape to work through. Doc Sharma isn’t retiring until the end of the year, so the plan is for me to come on board full-time at the end of the summer and start the transition. In the meantime, I’m working for Xander one last summer on the wilderness expeditions.” I winked at Aiden. “Thought maybe you’d want to join us again on one of our trips?”
Aiden threw back his head and laughed. “Oh, hell no. Once was enough, thank you very much. I’m perfectly happy being a city dweller from here on out. Roughing it at the Haven lodge and our beach house is about as outdoorsy as I get these days. Well, hopefully your busy schedule won’t keep you from coming to the wedding?”
Aiden and Ash had finally set a date for their wedding. They were to be married at the Botanical Gardens with a reception in the Conservatory. The place was apparently special to them, and I looked forward to seeing them joined together officially in a location that meant so much.
“Wouldn’t miss it for the world,” I assured them. “Now, let’s find some of that champagne I was promised and get this celebration started.”
That night, when all was finally quiet and everyone had returned to their own homes or Xander and Bennett’s lodge rooms, I found myself staring at Oz across the tiny kitchen. He was drying the last of the wine glasses, and I couldn’t help but follow the movement of his hands as the kitchen light glinted off his new ring.
“I have to say, as much as I love holding Atti, it is pretty fantastic being able to hand him off when he gets fussy like that,” Oz said. He’d been chattering on about everyone who’d been there for the cookout, and I could tell he was in heaven with so many people to talk about.
“We never really talked about whether or not you wanted children,” I said.
He put the last glass away and turned to me, placing the kitchen towel on the counter and crossing his arms. His butt leaned back against the counter as he studied me.
“I don’t, really. But I guess I’d be open to it if it was something you wanted. Is it?”
I let out a breath. “Not really. Don’t get me wrong, I adore kids, but I like being able to leave and come home to just you at the end of the day. I’m not sure how I’d handle sharing you with a child. It’s hard enough being jealous of the hairless piranha over there.”
After glancing at Boo sacked out on her back in the middle of her kitchen bed as if she didn’t have a care in the world, I stood up and went over to Oz, pulling him into my arms.
A teasing glint entered his eyes as he looked at me. “You know, instead of kids we could get another—”
“Nope.” My mouth landed on his too fast for him to even be able to get out a laugh. Just as with the Ralph Lauren whatever-it-was fabric, we both knew if Oz wanted another dog, we’d get another dog.
And I was totally fine with that.
Whatever made Ozias Ballard happy made me even happier.
“Come to bed with me, almost-husband,” I mumbled into his mouth. “While I may not want a baby screaming in my house tonight, I sure as hell want an Ozzie screaming in my house tonight.”
“Mm-hm,” he hummed into my mouth.
I tried to run my hands down into the back of his fancy skinny jeans, but they were too snug. “Pants off.”
“Mm-hm,” he hummed again, not taking his delicious tongue out of my mouth.
My hands moved to the front of his waistband and struggled to get the fly open. “Need trends to go baggy,” I muttered, pulling back so I could concentrate on what I was doing. “Never going to get you naked at this rate.”
Oz batted my hands away and was naked in zero-point-five seconds.
“H-how?” I asked in surprise.
“Models have to change clothes faster than The Flash. Here, watch.”
Suddenly, I was naked, standing in the kitchen pressed up against Oz’s gloriously bare body and feeling him deliberately slither against me until our cocks found each other.
“Nnnngh.”
Oz laughed as he began walking me back toward the bedroom. “Mm-hm.”
He barely managed to get the bedroom door shut before I squeezed his perfect ass cheeks. “So fucking sexy. Love this fucking ass.”
His eyes narrowed. “Why do I feel like you compliment me more on my ass now that I’m not a model anymore?”
“Because you finally put some meat on your bones, and I have something delectable to grab?” I leaned in to bite at my favorite spot on his neck.
“Because I’m fat now, and everything I eat goes straight to my ass?”
I pulled back in shock and stared at him. “Call yourself fat one more time, I swear to god…”
Oz’s face softened and a beautiful smile split it. “I’m just kidding. While I have to admit the extra weight is taking some getting used to, knowing how much it turns you on helps a lot. I know I’m not fat, babe. And as long as you find me sexy, that’s all I care about.”
I let out a breath of relief. “Good. Because I’m a doctor, you know. I know about these things. I’ll tell you if you need to worry about your weight.”
He knew I was teasing him now because I slid my fingers into his crease and toyed with his hole while I spoke.
“But right now I think you need a prostate exam, to be honest. It’s been a while.”
“It’s been twelve hours,” he said with a snort.
“Are you declining the service against medical advice?”
We’d arrived at the bed, and I laid him out gently in the center of it, trailing kisses down his chest to his belly before reaching for the lube in the bedside drawer.
“Nuh-uh,” he moaned when my mouth got to his cock. “Prostate me. Prostate me, please. Doctor knows best.”
His breath hitched and his head tilted back, exposing his creamy throat. I couldn’t resist returning to it with my mouth and running my tongue up the side of it to nibble on his ear.
Without removing my mouth from him, I slathered lube on my fingers and reached for his hole.
His face was flushed with passion and heat, his eyes were glassy and dilated. His chest was heaving with stuttered breaths, and his hands dug into my ass to pull me closer.
“Fuck me, Jake.”
“I love you, Oz.”
“Oh god,” he breathed, opening his eyes so I could see the sparkling blue. “I love you so much. Please.”
As I lowered my mouth to his, I lined myself up with his body and slid home.
Making love to Oz was as passionate, loving, and joyful as it had been the very first time we came together like this. Every touch of my hands had him whimpering and begging for more. Every taste of his mouth was familiar and sweet. Within moments of stroking in and out of his body, I felt his nails tighten into the skin of my back and his cock jump against my belly.
“You going to come for me, love?” I growled against the side of his face, reaching down to palm his erection and tug him over the edge. “Take what you need, baby. I know you’re ready. Come for me.”
His eyes widened and his body arched. The sound of my name came crying out of him as I felt the warm splash of his release between our bodies. It was enough to get me there, just like it always was and hopefully always would be.
I came in a roar of possession, pushing deep and tight into his body and releasing directly into him with nothing b
etween us. Even though it had been a couple of months since we’d stopped using condoms, it still blew my mind to feel him bare like that.
“Fuck,” I gasped, feeling my orgasm come around for a second wind. “Fuck!”
Oz’s entire body shuddered and tightened around me, and I felt his arms and legs gather me in as closely as he could get me. That was his favorite part. Holding on tight and begging me not to leave his body just yet.
After several moments, we heard a yippy fit coming from the direction of the kitchen.
Oz sighed and pushed me off him. “My turn.”
I dropped a kiss on his forehead. “No. Stay here. I’ll get her and I’ll grab you a cloth. Don’t move.”
On my way to check on Princess Piranha, I stopped in the bathroom and cleaned myself up before grabbing a warm cloth for Oz. Once I got to the kitchen, I saw the tiny tyrant giving me the evil eye.
“What? You gonna blame a guy for getting lucky on his engagement day?” I asked, scooping her up. “Did someone forget to give you an engraved invitation to bedtime? C’mon. I’ll give you a ride.”
I wandered back in the bedroom muttering at her. “Poor baby BooBear got forgotten in the kitchen. Don’t worry, Daddy has you. Hm, we need a way of differentiating the two dads. Maybe I can be DaddyDoc and Oz can be Daddy-O. Well, we’ll work on it. You know, if this dad thing is going to work out between the two of us, we’re going to need to set some ground rules. First, I call dibs on the beautiful, blue-eyed man. You have your own crush on the big hairy beast in town, so that means I get this one.”
I heard a snort and looked up. My favorite baby-blues sparkled in the light from the bedside table.
“What?” I asked, feeling heat crawl up my neck when I realized he’d been listening to me get goo-goo over the un-hairy beast.
“We are soooo getting another dog,” Oz sing-songed. “Sounds like someone’s ready for a new princess. Zoey said there’s a family in town looking to adopt out puppies from their new litter. The mom is a Mexican Hairless and the dad is a Puli…”
“So the dogs are hairless, but they also have dreads?” I asked, trying to picture it. “That sounds… unbelievable.”
“Right? So freaking cute!”
I tossed our existing dog onto the bed and slid in next to Oz, pulling the two of them toward me in our usual family snuggle position.
“I think I might have all the cute I can handle for a while right here.”
And I totally did.
