Arielle Immortal Fury (The Immortal Rapture Series Book 6)

“What an interesting group,” Arielle said, and they laughed. Their eyes gleamed, and they clicked their glasses amicably.
“Are you having a good time?” Sebastian whispered against her ear. He was standing right behind her, taking the glass away and placing it on the counter. He pulled her onto the dance floor and wrapped his arms around her. Her heart accelerated as he pulled her close and moved her sensually to the music of an old song. She shivered with excitement. She was happy to be in his arms, in that amazing piece of heaven Sebastian provided. She tightened her arms around his neck and heard him moan.
“Are you happy, baby?” he asked, brushing his lips against her ear.
“Yes,” she said and looked up to meet his gaze. “Thank you again; this is a perfect party. I wonder if you’ll ever know how much I love you,” she whispered.
“I know, and that makes me a very happy man.”
The party was wonderful and not a single person left prior to the morning hours. Arielle thanked Troy and Gabrielle for providing their beautiful home for the party, and she thanked all of her friends for showing up. She was a little inebriated and quite exhausted.
After they arrived home, they prepared for bed quietly. She brushed her teeth and shed her cloths onto the floor before slipping under the covers. Sebastian picked up her clothes and placed them on a chair.
“You don’t feel like doing much, do you?” His mouth twisted in amusement.
“No,” she mumbled, gazing at him longingly. “Come to bed,” she said, closing her eyes, a playful smile spread across her face.
“Mmm…any particular reason for the invitation?” he asked as he peeled himself out of his clothes.
“Maybe.” She giggled.
Slipping under the covers, he pulled her into his arms; excitement surged though her.
“I love you, Arielle,” he said, brushing his lips against her ear.
“Mmm,” she purred, moving into him.
“Go to sleep, baby. You look exhausted.”
Arielle sighed. “I don’t want to sleep,” she protested.
“Oh, what is it exactly that you would like to do?”
Arielle snorted. Sebastian couldn’t help it; he laughed aloud. “I don’t suppose you want to go out for a few more drinks?” he asked.
“That sounds bloody boring right now,” she said giggling.
“How about going horseback riding?”
Arielle’s eyes went wide. “What?” She blinked and gaped at Sebastian, startled.
Sebastian tightened his hold on her and laughed blissfully. “I’m only joking, Arielle,” he purred and pressed a soft kiss on her lips. “You make me so happy I can hardly stand it. I’m looking forward to our wedding day. I want to make you mine and spend eternity with you.”
Eternity. Arielle humphed at the sound of the word. “Eternity sounds a bit outlandish to me,” she said, pressing a hot kiss on his sensuous lips and savoring the warmth of his body.
“How so?”
“I promise to spend the rest of my life with you, Sebastian, but I don’t know anything about eternity, so….”
“So?” he insisted.
“So…I can’t promise to spend eternity with you. I’m a mortal girl, Sebastian, in case you forgot. Eternity is for immortals, a world completely unknown to me I’m sad to say.”
“Oh, baby, you and I are linked through eternity,” he said, squeezing her tighter. “I’ll never let you go.”
Arielle pulled back and cocked her head to the side. “Oh, Sebastian, what’s the point of discussing something that will never happen?”
Sebastian shook his head. He seemed to sense that she was not interested in the subject, so he changed course. He took her face in his hands and coaxed her lips apart, stroking the softness of her mouth with his tongue as he deepened the kiss. Arielle closed her eyes and moaned with pleasure. She threw her arms around his neck and tried to pull herself as close to his body as possible. His lips moved down the column of her neck and pressed softly against the pulse at the base of her throat. A low, guttural groan escaped Sebastian, and her breath suspended. Raising his head, he watched her through eyes filled with raw desire.
His hands moved over her bare shoulders and cupped her breasts, squeezing gently. His fingers teased the hard nipples, and the sensation sent ripples of fire across her flesh. He continued the downward journey, stopping right at the apex between her thighs. Hot current followed in the wake of his touch, and she arched her body against his hand. Opening her eyes, she fell into his mossy green gaze filled with arousal.
“I want you, baby,” he whispered, his breath hot against her face.
“Don’t stop,” she murmured, feeling his erection pressing against her thigh. Arielle’s body bowed against him. His lips traveled lower, making her flesh burn with desire as his hot mouth closed over one taut nipple and then over the other, lapping and teasing with feverish want. Her hands twined in his hair and she moaned blissfully. He kissed every spot and teased every niche of her body until she was fiercely aroused and gasping for air.
Arielle let go of his hair and moved her hand lower, placing it over his erection. Sebastian swallowed a groan. His mouth landed on hers, and he crushed her lips beneath his.
“Sebastian, please.”
“What, love?”
“Please,” she begged desperately.
“Tell me that you love only me,” he said, desire in his voice. “Tell me that you’ll never want for another man,” he continued, his voice lower than a whisper.
“Oh, God, Sebastian, please… I don’t want anyone but you,” she whimpered.
Against her protests, Sebastian clasped her hand and pulled it away from his hard desire. He enjoyed teasing her. He often did so to heighten her arousal before taking what he knew was his and his alone. He propped himself up on his elbow and gazed down at her. He reveled at the sight of her sapphire eyes dark with desire, her lips full and swollen from his kisses, her long brown hair spread across the pillow, and her face glowing like a breath of sunshine. He smiled appreciatively.
“Do you know how beautiful you are?” he gasped.
Arielle gave him a bewildered look. “Not now, Sebastian, you are driving me crazy.” She reached up and pulled him down for a sizzling kiss. “No more talking.”
“You are the most beautiful woman I have ever met in over five hundred years.”
“You’re still talking,” she complained.
Sebastian chuckled and covered her with his body. With his muscled thighs, he pressed her legs apart. Her breathing faltered. He clamped his teeth over her lower lip. His warm palms closed over her breasts again, stroking, teasing, and caressing.
He moved his hips suggestively against hers, and she groaned. “Is this what you want?” he asked, passion coating his voice.
“Yes, yes, please!” Lust dripped from every word.
“You got it,” he breathed through a clenched jaw. With a guttural groan deep in his throat, he thrust deep inside of her. Arielle tried to stifle a scream, letting out a predatory groan. His breathing seized. He tried desperately to draw a shivering breath.
His mouth came down on hers hungrily and set her lips on fire. His tongue slipped into the heat of her mouth and savored the sweet taste that gripped him, overwhelmed him, and pushed him over the peak of desire. He moved faster, setting a rhythm of desire and lust, pressing harder against her supple body. Arielle urged him on as her cries of pleasure engulfed him and drove him to madness.
“Open your eyes, baby,” he murmured, “I want to look at you.”
Her breath hitched, and her eyes flew open. A teasing smile played on his sensual lips as he thrust deeper. Her body quivered beneath his, and her breath caught in her throat. Sebastian’s hands fastened on her hips, and he pressed even farther inside her. He drew a shuddering breath. Passion fused their bodies as they exploded into a mind-blowing climax that thrust them to oblivion. They held each other possessively until they found their way back to reality.
Sebastian moaned into Arielle's mouth, and she sighed. Every muscle in her body was numb.
“I love you, baby,” he murmured
With much difficulty, she found her voice. “Ditto,” she uttered breathlessly.
“What are you doing to me?”
Her brows furrowed. “I don’t know what you mean?”
“You’ll be the death of me.”
“I thought you were indestructible,” she said, a humorous snort escaping her lips.
“You thought wrong. When it comes to you, I am a different man. You seem able to drive me to the brink of death,” he said jokingly.
“Oh, how do I do that?”
“Do you want me to walk you through it?”
“I think that would be the right thing to do, don’t you?” she asked, feigning urgency.
His head swooped down and took her mouth in a feverish kiss. Her lips were hot, dripping pure nectar into his senses, as her tongue dueled with his in a wild exchange.
Arielle’s hands gently moved from his hair to his back and slowly journeyed downward until her palms rested on his buttocks. With a sudden move, she pressed hard, and her body bowed against him. A struggling groan tore from Sebastian’s throat, and his body quivered. He was hard and ready again as he angled his head and deepened the kiss, plundering her lips with savage want. His hands moved to her breasts, and his fingers grazed over the soft mounds, sending scorching lava into her veins. She groaned, and her hips jolted suggestively. She wrapped her legs about him, and they fell back into a mind-blowing dance of rapture that swept them into another universe.
Savoring the intoxicating moment, they lay in each other’s arms, sated and filled with exquisite delight. The aftermath spread a warm wave of comforting pleasure throughout their bodies. Sebastian gathered her in his arms, and she laid her head in the crook of his shoulder, drifting away into restful slumber
Sebastian opened his eyes a couple of hours later. Arielle was still asleep in his arms. He pulled the covers tight about them, spooning his body around hers. He nuzzled her hair, and she stirred. Turning to her side, she snuggled closer to his warm body. He listened to the soft rhythm of her breathing. His lips kicked up into a blissful smile.
God! I can’t imagine a minute of my life without her.
Later the next day, Arielle opened her eyes and fell into Sebastian’s warm gaze.
“Hey, baby.”
“Mmm.”
“Did you sleep good?”
“Yes, how about you?” Arielle leaned in and kissed him softly.
“Mmm, delicious, but not good enough,” he chuckled, and pulling her closer, pressed his lips on hers firmly.
“What time is it?”
“It’s three-thirty in the afternoon,” Sebastian said.
Her eyes widened. “Are you joking?”
“No, baby. We didn’t go to bed until after five this morning.”
“Oh, yes, that’s right,” she said, more awake.
“Thank you for this morning,” he said, and his lips curved into a sensuous smile.
“Mmm, it was great, and I thank you, too,” she said, chuckling.
“Arielle, don’t ever stop loving me. You in another man’s arms will be the one thing that will kill me. I will never be able to endure life without you.”
Arielle stared in surprise at his beautiful face. “Sebastian, I don’t want any other man. You’re everything I want and more.”
“Thank God for that because I love you so much,” he said gently. His voice was throaty.
Arielle went still. She was now wide awake. “I would never leave you,” she said. She frowned, feeling mystified. Reaching around her neck, she unclasped her necklace.
“Here you go, Sebastian. My thoughts are an open book for you,” she said, fixing her gaze on his striking face. Their gazes locked, and soon she saw that magnificent, sultry smile that lit up his face. His mouth came down on hers, and the kiss was gentle, passionate.
“I’m very jealous and very selfish when it comes to you. I need reassurance every now and then,” he said lovingly, clipping her necklace back on.
“Sebastian, the last two days have been a dream. How can I ever thank you? You do so much for me. I’m at a complete loss for words,” she murmured.
“Arielle, I love giving you things, and you have to let me do that, because it makes me happy.”
She smiled and kissed him softly. She stretched her arm out and stared at the beautiful bracelet he gave her the night before, thinking that its beauty wasn't what made it special; she was still amazed that Sebastian would give her a piece of his mother’s when he had so little of her left.
“Sebastian, can I ask you something?”
“Anything.”
“It might sound a little silly.”
“What is it?”
“Are you a marquis?”
Sebastian was taken aback by her question. “Where did you hear that?”
“Eva did some research into your family background before we went on that unbelievable adventure in Calais.
“Yes, it’s true but not important.”
“So what we are saying is that I’m in love with the most astonishing, noble man on earth, right?” Her lips curved up.
“That’s absolutely true,” he sniggered.
“What does that make me once we’re married?”
“My heartbeat,” he replied. “Just in case you forgot, I’m in desperate need of a heartbeat,” he said softly. His eyes rested on her face, and she felt pure pleasure.
She held her arm to the light and twirled the bracelet around her wrist. She heard him laugh aloud.
He pulled her back into his arms. “So do you want to go back to sleep?”
“No, not really.”
“What do want to do,” he breathed into her mouth.
Arielle move suggestively against him, and he grinned.
“Sleep it is then,” he said, laughing. Their lovemaking was scorching as always. Eva and Loren told her that “tireless want” was an immortal gift. Immortals were insatiable, eager lovers, and she was thankful that Sebastian wanted her and nobody else.
Chapter 9
THE TWELFTH WEEK of Arielle's fall semester arrived, toward the end of November. Sebastian and Arielle loved taking walks on the beach this time of year, when the air was brisk and the waves moved with urgency to kiss the edge of the shore. Every evening they left the house around six and spent several hours by the water, either walking or sitting. Classes were brutal, and Arielle needed the break.
The sun was dipping below the horizon, but its rays refracted against the water, scattering up to the sky and illuminating the earth. It was a cool fall evening. She grabbed her sweater on the way out the door. Glancing over at Sebastian, she snorted surreptitiously; he was still in a short sleeved T-shirt.
Holding her gaze, his brows furrowed. “What’s so funny?”
“You.”
“Me? How so?”
“Look at you,” she said, waving her hand at his direction. “It’s quite cool out here, and you are practically naked.”
“Are you cold?” he asked with a look of disbelief.
As if on cue, a cold breeze ripped through Arielle’s body, and she shivered. Grabbing the ends of the sweater, she pulled them tighter around herself. Sebastian smiled. Reaching out, he pulled her into his warm embrace, and she sighed blissfully.
“Is this better?” he murmured, brushing his lips against her temple.
“Yes,” she whispered, snuggling closer to his body heat. “How can your body be this hot? Is this an immortal attribute?”
“I don’t really know. I have never thought about it before.”
“It’s like the cold has no effect on you.” She pulled back and looked up, meeting his gaze.
He smiled and bent down, covering her lips with his. “Are you cold now?” he breathed into her mouth.
Pulling back, she took a deep breath. “I was, but I’m not anymore,” she said, s
tealing another kiss.
Sebastian kept his arm wrapped around her shoulders, never letting her move far away. They walked slowly, enjoying the quiet of the twilight and the soft murmur of the water as it rolled out, kissing the sand.
“Are you happy?” he purred in her ear.
“Oh, Sebastian, words couldn’t explain how I feel when I’m with you.”
He gave her a soft squeeze. She was startled as he lifted her up and into his arms, grinning in sheer pleasure. Her head tipped up, and his mouth came down on hers locking them into a hot kiss that seared her lungs. Sensation surged through their veins like the rippling waves and left them breathless. She threaded her fingers into his hair, and he groaned. The feeling was astounding.
“What am I going to do with you?” he murmured eagerly against her lips.
“You can start by putting me down, please. I do enjoy walking,” she said, giggling. He let her slide down slowly, still holding her tightly against his hard male body. She sighed.
“Don’t you like being in my arms?” he asked playfully, keeping his arm protectively around her.
“Sebastian.” Her voice was soft. “I love being in your arms! But I like walking on the sand too,” she said gently.
Sebastian chuckled and brushed his lips against her cheek.
Arielle let passion infuse her voice. “I love you, Sebastian,” she said, leaning her head against his body. “And I love our walks on the beach.”
They gazed at each other for a long moment, and then he clasped her hand in his, and they began to walk silently along the edge of the water.
Arielle lifted her eyes toward the sky and drew in a breath. Sebastian glanced down at her and then followed her gaze. The sky was breathtaking. The sun dipped below the horizon, and a mixture of vibrant colors spread across the waters, creating a vision too beautiful for words.
“I don’t think a human hand could capture this view,” she said, mesmerized.
“It is beautiful,” he whispered.
Arielle nodded, lost in wonderment. Then, she realized that this could all be taken from her as Annabel suddenly clouded her thoughts.
