Luc broke the kiss first. “Need you.”

“Yes.” In a blur, Taygan unzipped and yanked his pants to his ankles. He kicked out of his jeans and knelt on the bed. “Take what you want.”

Behind him, Luc growled. Open-handed, Luc placed three quick swats on Tay’s bare ass. “You always did like commando.”

“Free ballin’ means you get quicker access.” Tay wriggled his ass in an invitation. “Mark me. I can’t wait any longer.”

The click of a zipper echoed behind him as Luc freed himself of his pants. Tay glanced over his shoulder at Luc’s cock. Not too long, not overly thick, but perfect for Tay. Instead of the thatch of dark curls at the base, creamy skin surrounded Luc’s prick.

“You shaved?” Tay tried to hide the shock in his voice. Luc had always feared shaving around his cock. I might slip and then where would I be? Neutered. And I am not a pussy.

“I tried something new.” Using both thumbs, Luc massaged Taygan’s ass. “I missed this.”

Taygan should’ve looked away and regained his pride but he couldn’t. Watching Luc stroke himself and rub the pre-come on Tay’s ass had Tay in knots. He loved the frantic, can’t-hold-back of their lovemaking. Tay loved Luc raw and yearned to be the only one experiencing Luc that way. The tearing of plastic caught Tay’s attention.

“Just covering my bases.” Luc groaned. “Snug, but safe.”

Taygan grunted as Luc eased his cock into Tay’s ass. He needed this. Needed to be close to Luc again. But there was something in Luc’s words that gave him pause. What else had Luc tried that was new? Another lover? The idea of Luc making love, hell, fucking someone else grated Taygan’s nerves. Okay, so they hadn’t said specifically to be celibate… but… Luc was his. His human.

  Fuck.

“Oh, Goddess.” Luc’s fingers bit into Tay’s hips as he pumped in and out of Tay’s ass. “Feels so good.”

Taygan gripped the sheet and met Luc thrust for thrust, but damn. As much as he wanted to, he couldn’t concentrate on the sex. Emotions he thought he’d buried welled to the surface. He didn’t want just the physical with Luc. Didn’t want just sex with no strings. He wanted the strings, the complications, the hurts, and the overwhelming joy.

“Fuck, I’m --” Luc slumped against Taygan’s back and bit through Tay’s shirt -- hard. His body tensed over Tay’s and his hips moved in a fractured rhythm. “…coming.” With Luc’s weight on his, Taygan flopped onto the bed. Maybe Luc hadn’t noticed his lack of orgasm. He could only hope.

Luc rolled off of Tay and plopped down beside him. He placed a hand on Tay’s naked ass. “This -- us, can’t happen again.”

  Chapter Three

  “What?”

Luc waited for the rest of Taygan’s response. If Tay didn’t argue, Luc would know the truth. If he did, then they could move forward. Skewed logic, but Luc knew damned well what he wanted to hear.

Luc rolled the spent condom off his cock and gave it a toss in the general direction he remembered seeing a trash bin. He shrugged. He’d pick it up later. Stuffing himself back into his leathers, he turned to look at Tay.

“Why can’t we do this again?” Taygan rose up on both elbows and frowned. “You’re really going to keep punishing me for my damned element, aren’t you?”

“No, I meant this, as in you not coming and me rutting like a damned fool isn’t going to happen again. I don’t fuck. Not anymore. I’m too old for it.” He pushed a damp lock of Tay’s sandy hair from his forehead. “We need to just talk. The holidays are for coming together, not fucking for fucking’s sake.”

“I do want to talk. That’s part of why I’m here.” Taygan kicked his pants onto the floor and sat with his legs tucked underneath himself. He didn’t bother to cover his nudity or his semi-erect cock. “You’re dying inside because you can’t be yourself and it’s my fault.” He sighed. “It’s funny. Remember how you used to get up in the middle of the night just to write down a tune you’d come up with in your sleep? I see the wind blow and want to chase it. I need to be one with it.”

“You can’t deny your element or base nature.” Luc toyed with his watch. “I get it.”

“I can’t deny my need for you, either. Luc, I -- you need to control. I need to be controlled. I want your ropes wrapped around me and my heart in your hands.” He reached onto the floor and placed the shiny red box in front of Luc. “Open it and don’t bitch.”

Luc flicked the corner of the paper open with his thumb. He had no idea what could be in the box, but knowing Tay, it would probably be what they both needed. “Want to help me?”

Tay shook his head. “This is something you gotta do alone.”

Luc crooked a brow and ripped the paper, revealing the gold box beneath. “You always did like to be dramatic.” He lifted the lid off the box and slowly his gaze met Tay’s. He rolled the black nylon cord between his fingers. “A peppermint stick the size of a sausage and a rope?”

“Thought we’d start new. And you did mention a candy cane.” Tay trailed his fingers over the sugary stick, caressing it like a cock. “Use it to pacify me. Might make a nice bit, like for a horse.”

A bit? The idea had merit. Luc shoved the thought aside and focused on what he needed to say. “You love your freedom. You need it.”

Taygan shrugged and continued to stroke the stick. “I love you more.”

“Tay?” He couldn’t process the words fast enough. They’d had so many false starts, so many times they thought things would work only to have love ripped from their hands when Taygan succumbed to his element.

“Yeah, Luc, I do.” Taygan scooted across the bed, thigh to thigh beside Luc. He placed his hand on Luc’s leg. “The roaming, following my air elemental nature, means nothing if I know you’re hurting.”

Something in Tay’s explanation didn’t make sense. “So that’s it? You’re back so I can salve your ego?” Anger shot through Luc’s veins. He’d been used and wasn’t about to allow it again. “No fucking way.”

Taygan’s blue eyes widened and his lips slowly parted. He shook his head. “That’s not how it is at all.”

“Then how is it exactly?” Luc didn’t bother to filter the frustration from his voice.

“You and I have something. It’s strong.”

  “But?”

“Mr. Negative. You need to lighten up.”

“Me? I’m not negative. I’m wary. I’ve been burned one too many times.”

“Try less pyro?” Taygan smiled. “Or try a different gimmick onstage.”

Luc sighed and shook his head. Somewhere things had run off the rails. He needed the truth and needed it now. “I don’t know what the grand plan here was, but if it’s because of Zac and Attie, you can go. Tell them you wore me out and you can go back to your life. I’m sick of playing games to make everyone else happy while I feel like shit.”

  “No.”

  “No?”

“You can’t just push me away. I made a fucking mistake when I walked out of your apartment. I let everything else dictate how I feel. Even if I have to tie my ass up myself, I am not letting this Christmas end without showing you I love you.” His voice cracked. “I love you. Get it? You. Only you. Now show me you feel the connection as much as I do.”

Tay took a long breath and stared at Luc. Things could go one of two ways. A --Luc would love the rope, see the double entendre to the peppermint stick, laugh, and actually use it. B -- Luc would finally blow his top, scream, and order Tay out of his life for good. They’d had two good years together before the call of Tay’s element tore things apart. Once he figured out how to harness the energy, he’d be able to love Luc the way he needed. Baby steps.

The longer Luc toyed with the cord, the lower Taygan’s spirits sank. He blew out his breath and stared at his hands. Their play wasn’t extra hardcore, but it fit what they liked -- sharing control. Taygan thrust his fingers into his hair and turned away. Things would hurt less if he couldn’t see Luc’s eyes when Luc decided not to play.<

“Hands.” Luc eased up behind Tay and licked a path of fire on his neck. “Give me your hands.”

Taygan leaned into Luc and closed his eyes. Luc’s words vibrated along his skin, sending him into a new dimension of pleasure. He clasped his hands behind his back and assumed the position of surrender. Goddess, he loved this. Luc looped the rope around Tay’s wrists, binding him, then draped the loose end of the nylon over Tay’s shoulder.

Warmth filled Taygan’s body. A gentle breeze from his element swirled around him, cooling the Luc-induced fever. He bit down hard on his bottom lip. Tay’s cock bobbed in anticipation. Whatever Luc planned to do, Taygan wanted it all.

“You look so pretty.” Luc trailed his fingers over Tay’s chest. “You’d look better without your shirt.” He grabbed two handfuls of the careworn cotton and pulled, splitting the shirt down the middle. The breeze licked Tay’s chest, beading his nipples.

“Much better.” Luc leaned forward and rubbed his nose along Tay’s cheek. “Those songs were for you.” He wrapped the nylon around Tay’s chest, binding his nipples between the rounds and making it tight enough for fun without really hurting him. The pressure sent a fresh rush of heat and desire to Tay’s cock.

“Lay down.” Luc nodded to the bed. “I want to look into your eyes when we do this.”

Although his knees wobbled a bit, Taygan sank down onto the bed and spread his legs. His dick stood at attention, and pre-come dribbled down from the crown. A feeling of relaxation and calm filled his mind. The subspace. Yes, he needed this. Needed Luc.

Using his nails, Luc scratched a path down Tay’s chest. “You like?”

Tay nodded and looked at Luc through heavy-lidded eyes. “Love it.”

Holding Tay’s gaze, Luc wound the rope around Tay’s waist and looped it down around his balls. The gentle pressure made Tay grow harder and want Luc all the more. He whimpered as Luc positioned Tay’s feet at his butt. Oh, Goddess, they were going to play full body. Fuck, yes. Tay eagerly folded himself into Luc’s intended placement and whimpered as Luc bound his legs into place. Taygan loved feeling so vulnerable in Luc’s hands.

Instead of plunging into the act of sex, Luc took his time and caressed Tay’s skin. He started at Tay’s face and smoothed the tips of his fingers down his prone body. The energy of his element whipped through the air in a stronger breeze.

“As I caress you, you still touch me,” Luc murmured. “I want to see your ass nice and pink for me.” He rolled Tay onto his side and patted the tender flesh.

Taygan moaned. He never knew when Luc would slap, or how hard, but he didn’t care. Each crack of Luc’s hand kicked Taygan’s need into a higher level. One, two, three spanks in quick succession. His ass burned from the pain-filled pleasure and the kiss of his element on the sensitive tissues.

“I want to do one more thing.” Luc repositioned Taygan onto his back. “You need something in your mouth. Something festive.” He grabbed the peppermint stick and dragged it over his tongue. “Yes?”

Oh, holy fuck, yes. Taygan parted his lips. He greedily accepted the stick, loving the way the sticky sweetness on his lips contrasted with the bite of the rope into his skin.

“Beautiful.” Luc winked and walked away from the bed once again. “More Christmas presents?” He waved a couple condom packets and a bottle of lube. “Someone wanted to make sure the holiday was bright and gay.”

Taygan fought back a smile and rolled his eyes. He loved Luc’s snark.

“Works for me,” Luc said and came back to the bed. “Means I can have you as many times as I want you.”

Worked for Taygan. He watched in marvel as Luc wrapped his cock in the latex. Soon, soon Luc would be inside him again and making him feel complete.

“Don’t think this is all about me.” Luc wound his fingers around Taygan’s cock. “I want us to come together. Fill the room with holiday -- cheer.” Luc slathered lube over his hand and Tay’s prick, making both nice and slippery.

Taygan groaned. The feel of Luc’s hand on his dick was almost more than he could handle. He closed his eyes to keep the orgasm at bay. And Luc hadn’t even entered him yet.

“I love you on the edge.” Luc pushed forward, breaching the tight ring of muscle in Tay’s asshole.

Taygan gasped from the tight fit. The breath wrenched from his body. Luc grasped Tay’s hips, pushing himself fully within Tay’s ass. “I could stay here forever,” Luc murmured. He began to thrust, slowly at first. The more he worked in and out of Tay, the faster he pistoned. At the same time, Luc pumped Tay’s cock. Tay bit down hard on the thick candy. Too much more from Luc, and Tay would definitely bite the damn stick in half. He groaned and wriggled to meet Luc action for action.

“Fuck. Me. Sideways.” Luc’s nails drilled into Tay’s hip as he slammed forward. He squeezed Tay’s cock tight. “Come with me.”

Not like he needed much coercion. Taygan gave into the onslaught of emotions -- love, desire, lust, devotion -- and allowed the climax to wash over him. Signs of his element swirled around them, filling the room with chilly air.

Luc surged forward and bit the peppermint from Tay’s mouth. He spit the candy out onto the bed and fastened his mouth over Tay’s. When he broke the kiss, he murmured, “If I knew how to bind you to my human ass forever, I’d do it in a heartbeat.” Luc’s sweat-slicked body covered Tay’s. “No jokes, no lies.” He chuckled and scooted off of Tay. “Let me untie you.” Luc stood and worked the ropes off of Tay. “You picked a good rope.”

Tay stared up at Luc and gasped for the breath Luc took away. The seriousness in Luc’s words warmed the chilled parts of Tay’s bare body. He could hear those words forever, and damn it if he wasn’t going to figure out how to make them come true.

  Chapter Four

“Goddess, that’s the best.” With the rope off and the blood returning to the rest of his body, Taygan tossed his torn shirt onto the floor and flopped back on the bed. His ass stung from the spankings, and his knees were weak from being bound so long, but he didn’t care. Being with Luc sapped his energy -- always in a good way. They made love with gusto and fought with just as much passion. Once he figured out exactly how to make their relationship a mated, committed relationship, things would indeed be perfect. Step by step. Right now all that mattered was having Luc in his life and being together. They’d figure out the rest later.

Luc emerged from the bathroom, towel in hand. “Thought you’d want this since I destroyed your shirt.” He knelt next to Tay and wiped the come and sweat from his stomach. “My rope lines are so pretty on you.”

“They are.” Taygan took the towel from Luc and tossed it toward the bathroom. He turned to show Luc the new design on his back at the base of his neck. “Want to know why I got the tattoo?”

  “You like pain?”

“I like you. I’m in love with you, and I want your marks on me, mixed with my wind tattoo permanently.”

Luc smiled and knelt on the edge of the bed. He stroked the back of Tay’s neck, rubbing his fingers over the tattoo. “I don’t know what to say, but I love it. Love you, too.”

Oh, thank the Goddess. Tay sighed. “You said something about wanting a good night’s sleep for Christmas. Think you got your wish?”

“How’d… how’d you know?” Luc stood long enough to rip back the blankets. “Were you listening in or was this all a big plan to get me in the sack?” He stretched his legs out under the covers and scooted into place beside Tay. “I’m not complaining, mind you.”

“The plan combined a little of both and a dash of something else.” Taygan rolled off the covers and slipped between the sheets. He propped himself up on his elbow, ready to confess everything to Luc. “It’s like this: I followed the currents to Alaska, thinking I had to go with the winds. I looked up the crab boats and realized I wasn’t ready to spend a ridiculous amount of time in a cramped space. And I’m not fond of ice. But I knew how I left -- I just took off. I was ashamed. You don’t know how much I wanted to com
e home. I think I dialed your number fifty times, but I didn’t know what to say. Hi, it’s Tay and I know I broke your heart, but I’d like to come back home. Sounds like shit.”

“You could’ve come home. Can’t say it would’ve been smooth sailing, but you’re always wanted.”

“I was afraid to let myself hope so I did the next best thing -- I bought the Firecracker album and just sat and cried. You do realize you write your soul into each song?”

“Half of it is stuff Zac wrote for Atria.”

“I know your work. You write from the heart, and it shows in every line. I told myself you wrote those because you found someone better than me, but the voice in the back of my head said, no, asshole, this pain’s for you.” Tay scrubbed both hands over his face. “I rented a cabin in the middle of nowhere and tried to convince myself you didn’t need my kind of crazy.”

“But you’re here talking like a beer commercial. What changed?”

“Atria. She called me. I don’t know how she got the number to get to me. I tossed my cell into a river. She said Christmas is coming and I had a job to do. She wasn’t kidding. I stood out there in the audience tonight. You don’t glow like normal. You’re there onstage, but your heart is somewhere else. Can you forgive me for being a jerk?”

Luc rolled onto his back. The rustle of paper echoed in the room. When he turned back on his side, he held the peppermint stick in his palm. “I’ll use the gag now, thank you very much.” He placed the candy between Taygan’s open lips. “It’s oddly sexy and festive at the same time.” Around the stick, Luc kissed him. Sugary sweetness filled Tay’s mouth, and not all of it was from the peppermint.
