Leaving the stage area I headed to the hallway, but jerked to a stop when I heard muffled voices. One of them belonged to William, I could recognize it. I didn’t know why, but something in my gut told me to hide and listen to the conversation. I missed how it started, but I caught enough to understand what it was about –drug trafficking.

“It was a pleasure to work with you as always, Abramov,” I heard William say. They were coming toward where I was standing. I got in the VIP room and left the door cracked open to hear.

“We’re a team. I find it, you sell it and we stay out of trouble. These drugs are high-priced. Sell them clean and quick,” the other man said. His voice gave me chills. There was darkness in it. He wasn’t the kind of guy anyone would like to mess with… even I could tell that. Focusing on their conversation, I took a step back in the room to hide deeper.

“Don’t worry, Abramov. Some customers are already waiting. We’ll make good money,” William answered.

  “How is Mike?” Abramov asked.

Mike? Was Mike involved in this thing, too?

“Same psycho. I don’t know when he’ll cause trouble for me again. He ruined the last girl and his eyes already found another target. He’s causing me more trouble than he’s worth,” William said, an angry tone behind his voice.

“Keep his leash short, William. I don’t want to get in trouble because of that sick bastard. If his connection to you was known, our business will get busted. Do whatever it takes to keep him hidden and under control,” Abramov said, most likely warned; maybe even threatened.

“I’ll deal with him, Abramov. He is my problem, not yours,” Will snapped at him.

“He knows more than I’m happy with and if he becomes a risk for me… let’s say, he will really be a problem for you,” Abramov said slowly and with deadly calm. His Russian tone was clear as day.

“I… I got it,” Will said, his voice was hesitant. I got the feeling that he was scared of this Abramov guy. After a pause Will continued, “Let’s go, I need to be back in an hour.”

I got closer to the door when voices started to fade. My mind was working in high gear with excitement. I knew that wasn’t the normal reaction to something like this, but I wasn’t normal. I was here to find a story and what could be better than a drug dealing mobster in the club I was working? Also, there was Mike…

What did Will mean when he said Mike ruined the last girl?

I remembered Dawn’s words, actually warnings, about my job in the club. She knew I would do every wild and adventurous thing to make up a story. I wasn’t proud of it, but I didn’t regret doing anything I had to do to reach my dream either.

What could be better than a book based on a true story?

If I found something about William and his drug dealing, it would be great material for me to use in a suspense-action novel. I was giddy.

I got out of the room and walked towards William’s office. I hoped he wouldn’t be back for an hour like he said. Grabbing the doorknob, I held my breath and was relieved when it opened easily.

His room didn’t have any intimate objects, like photos or any hobby related things that would give me a clue as to where to start. It was a typical, dull office with dark wooden furniture, not a sign of anything illegal. Though, I didn’t even know what I was looking for.

Without wasting any time, I started to look inside the drawers of his desk. There was nothing but condoms, trash and a key. The key was the only thing I could try my luck on, it was possibly for a safe and all I had to do was find it.

The right wall of the office was covered with cabinets, some of them looked like the lockers I had in high school. I searched the cabinets, the ones without locks, first. There wasn’t anything important in them. Trying to open the lockers, I was shocked and happy when all of them opened with the same key. It was a stupid move, though.

Three lockers were full of files of employees, the information about drink providers and other wholesalers the club worked with. But I found what I was looking for in the fourth locker; the safe.

It was bigger than I assumed it would be and was activated by a code. I didn’t know anything about this guy, how could I guess his password?

I sat down on the chair behind his desk and huffed in annoyance. I should have thought of that before. I was running out of time but I wasn’t ready to give up. I remembered reading something about password habits. According to that article, men usually use simple passwords. Like one-one-one-one or one-two-three-four.

Well, trying wouldn’t hurt me, I thought.

I unlocked the safe on my fifth attempt; I was lucky it didn’t lockout itself after the numerous wrong code I tried. The password was zero-zero-zero-zero; the article wasn’t wrong, after all. Holding my breath, I looked into the safe. There were lots of yellow packages in it –the drug packs. I checked the safe to see if there was something else of interest, but it was hard to look for something you didn’t know what it was.

Aside from the packages I found two files. One of them was about William. The file held all of his connections in the drug dealing business. If this file found its way to the police, the drug traffickers in the city, or maybe even in the entire country would end up in jail.

After reading some parts of the file, I skipped to the other one. Mike’s name was written on the cover of it. I didn’t expect to find his file in the safe. Since he was one of the employees, I thought his file would have been with the other employee files. Remembering Abramov asked about Mike, the possibility of him being involved in the trafficking was heightened.

I opened the first page and a frown formed on my face. There was a report from an asylum.

  Patient name: Michael Harrison

What? Mike’s last name was Harrison?! Was it coincidence?

“Harley! Come to my office. Now!”

I heard William’s voice. He must have roared if I could hear him from his office. I was grateful for it, though. I put the files inside the safe in panic.

  Key!

  Fuck!

I threw the key into the drawer and rushed out from the office towards the back exit. The moment I opened the big door of the back exit, William must have come in the hallway, he called out for me.

  “Angel?”

Closing the door before I turned to look at him, I waved awkwardly, “Hey, Will.”

He frowned, probably at my fake smile, but his features changed as his eyes roamed my body.

  “What are you doing here?”

“There was nobody here when I came to the club and I got bored. I was taking a walk,” I answered him. I let my voice come out sultry to distract him. He hummed, but didn’t say anything before going into his office with Harley behind him.

The door I was leaning opened behind me and I stumbled backward with a shriek.

“Easy, Cupcake!” Mike whispered to my ear. His arms wrapped around me from behind and I was flushed to his body.

“Mike,” I whispered. Panic and excitement rose in me. The combination was not normal. I should have steered clear of him but my mind didn’t work that way.

Michael Harrison. Patient of an asylum. Possibilities.

These words were chanting in my mind as a warning. But my body was reminiscing the night before, remembering his body onto me, in me; the way his lips kissed me roughly. And all warnings turned into a seductive demand.

“Mmm… I like it when you whisper my name that way. But I would prefer louder… much, much louder,” Mike nuzzled on my neck. His words and his Southern accent were affecting my body, no matter the mere possibility of him being dangerous. Maybe even that possibility had a magnetic pull on me. I shook my head, trying to clear my head.

I let out a giggle and tried to free myself from his grip.

“Someone will see, Mike. Let me go,” I said.

“You didn’t worry about that before,” he said, taking my earlobe between his teeth. He was right.

He ruined the last girl and his eyes already found another target. />
Will’s words came back to me with full force and I ripped myself from Mike’s hold.

“Whoa! What’s wrong? I thought we were coming to some terms here,” Mike smirked at me. The first time since I started to work in the club, I saw something malicious in his gaze; something dark. It should have terrified me and it did, but also, it excited me. I wanted to dig deeper into that darkness.

  “Mike!”

Will’s tense voice came behind me. Was that a warning behind his voice?

“Hi, b-” he stopped in the middle of his word and looked at me before continuing with a simple “boss.”

I heard Will clear his throat behind me, but I couldn’t take my eyes away from Mike. A part of me was waiting for him to do something, anything, because of his daring eyes.

“We’ll open the doors in an hour. Angel, do your rehearsal,” Will said and I turned towards him, but his eyes were focused on Mike.

“Mike, stay out of trouble,” he said through his gritted teeth.

“Don’t worry, boss. That’s why you’re here, right? To keep an eye on me… to keep your name clean,” Mike said and walked past us.

“C’mon, Angel!” he yelled back before turning the corner.

Will’s eyes were roaming my body. He looked almost disgusted by something I didn’t understand.

“You were making good money for me,” I heard him huff before going back into his office.

  What did that mean?

  January 2, 2014

The applause and whistles filled the club when I was lying on the ground wearing only a g-string. A small smile was on my face for the show, but my eyes were focused on the ceiling, I didn’t look at my audience. They were enjoying the view before them. Even though my blonde hair stuck to my temples, and the sweat coated my fair skin, they enjoyed the view of a sexual creature in front of their hungry gazes; a nymph of the Club Nymph.

The stage finally darkened and I got up to walk toward the dressing room. I didn’t bother to put on my bra for this short walk. I wish I did though, when goosebumps formed on my skin with each step I took. I turned my head back, to see someone behind me, but there was no one, or nothing but the vibrating purple lights. I kept walking, my senses on alert. I swore I could feel a breath tickle my neck before I turned my back once more to find only nothing. With quickened steps, I got into the dressing room and almost screamed when I saw the shadow inside.

It was Mike, walking toward me he said, “Just me, Cupcake. No worries.”

“Mike, what are you doing here?” I asked, nonchalant.

He kept walking to me with a crooked smile on his face, “Oh, is this how you’ll welcome me, now? I thought we could take a step further in our teasing rather than backward.”

“Teasing? C’mon Mike. We had sex, which I don’t even remember well, once, when both of us were drunk. Done and gone. Nothing serious,” I let out a nervous laugh, but my laugh died on my lips when he wrapped my hair around his wrist in the blink of an eye, forcing my gaze up to his face. I heard the soft click of the lock behind me.

“Are you trying to play hard to get now? I’m not the kind of guy who will chase after you like a good little puppy. If I want you I’ll take you, whenever and however I want, understood? I’ve already let you have your fun, Angel. Now, it’s my game,” he hissed to my face and tugged my hair back a little more. I didn’t do anything. I just looked into his eyes like a deer in the middle of the road.

He placed his lips to the crook of my neck and licked my salty skin till he reached my earlobe, “For months I’ve let you get away with your cock-teasing. But, after yesterday, after I got what I wanted, I won’t let you go.”

His words were both threatening and arousing… what was wrong with me?

  “Let me go.”

He bit my earlobe once before asking “Why don’t you stop me?” His voice was almost surprised.

He was right. Why didn’t I stop him? Why was my voice so weak?

Because I wanted to know him and the darkness he hid so well behind those green orbs. I wanted to know what psychological problem he had that caused him to be at an asylum.

“I wanna know about you,” I whispered.

His lips moved to my collarbone, licking, sucking all the way to my breasts. My hands found their way to his hair and I tugged the soft strands when his lips wrapped around my nipple.

“You want to know about me, huh?” he laughed. “Answer this instead, do you want me?” he asked, sucking my nipple, hard, causing me to moan loudly.

“Will you tell me about yourself if I let you fuck me?” I asked, massaging his scalp as I tugged his hair once again.

Did I really offer him that?

He looked into my eyes with a devilish grin and started to unbuckle his belt. Before I could comprehend a word, he pushed my g-string aside and lifted me against the wall. I could only whisper “Condom” before he pushed himself all the way into me. The sudden movement caused a flash of pain, but it transformed to pleasure as he moved inside me slowly.

  “Are you clean?”

“Shouldn’t you have asked that earlier?” I giggled at him.

“Answer me!” he hissed to my face as he pushed himself inside me with full force; causing my head to hit the wall.

“Yes!” I groaned loudly and sighed when he put one of his hands behind my head.

“Good. So am I. Brace yourself,” he said, bringing his hands down to grab my ass. His fingers were digging into my skin, but his cock was working magic so I didn’t care. I wrapped my arms around his neck tighter as he thrust into me harder and faster. I’ve never had sex without a condom and this skin on skin contact was maddening.

“Fuck! You feel good.” His groan mixed with my moans as his abs rubbed on my clit.

“Look at me. Show me that angelic face when I fuck you like a little slut,” he said and bit my neck before leaning back a little to let me do as he said.

“Good girl. My good little whore,” he said as he kept up with his punishing rhythm.

I’d never been called names before and I had never thought I would find it arousing but here I was…turned on by being called a slut, just like yesterday.

  “Mike… please.”

“Down,” he said, unwrapping my legs from his waist. I felt the loss when his cock left me. “In front of the mirror. Put your hands on the vanity,” he ordered. His eyes roamed around my body hungrily as he stroked his cock with his hard grip.

I did as he instructed. I was so desperate for release. Looking at him through the mirror as he came back with his leather belt wrapped around his hand, panic rose inside me when he wrapped the belt around my neck, securing it tightly. My fingers grazed my neck as I tried to loosen the belt, but he yanked it back.

“Stop fighting. Spread your legs,” he said and bit my shoulder lightly.

I tried to calm myself and noticed the belt didn’t obstruct my air. Sighing in relief, I spread my legs and felt his cock at my entrance.

“Look at me,” he groaned, pushing himself into me.

Our eyes locked in the mirror and I gasped with the change in him. His jaw was tense with the pleasure but his eyes were the devil’s eye. He was dangerous. That moment I felt it in my bones, I was scared… scared of him but mostly scared of myself. Because no matter how mad he looked, my body was betraying me. The pleasure pulsed through me.

  “Come on my cock.”

“No,” I said through my gritted teeth. I couldn’t let him give me pleasure, couldn’t let him take my pleasure. He yanked back the belt again. My back arched till my head rested on his shoulder.

  “Come now, slut.”

He sucked, licked, bit my neck while rocking into me. His other hand snaked to my clit, circling his fingers on my nerve bundle and pinched it. He forced the pleasure on me, took it even though I didn’t want to give it and I came with a scream. It was so intense, I could hardly hear Mike’s animalistic groan when he came.

“My angel. My good, little slut. Welcome to my li
fe,” I heard Mike coo. But my mind was trying to fight with the fear, regret and unfortunately the exciting thrill of danger.

  What have I done?

  January 2, 2014

I rested my head on my palm on the bar counter and waited for the throbbing on my temples stop. The sex was great, my body was still humming with the afterglow of it. But my mind was a mess as I tried to figure out Mike. After we had sex, he just left the room without a second glance and I could see how stupid I was for thinking he might open up to me. Why would he do that to someone he fucked? But I wanted to know his story. No, I needed to know.

“You deserve better,” I heard Pax say as he placed a shot in front of me.

“What?” I asked him, looking into his piercing blue eyes. The concern was clear on his face.

“Mike… he is bad news, Angel, not the kind of guy you should be with. You deserve better than him.”

I downed the shot and lift my challenging gaze at him, “Like you?”

I knew he was attracted to me. It wasn’t like he tried to hide it.

Channing Paxton was hot with his full sleeve tattoos, dark brown hair and muscled, tanned body. Beyond that, he was also a good guy with his natural flirtatious way and easy to talk to personality, yet I chose Mike… the biggest mystery.

Pax looked into my eyes, without saying anything, and then, looked down with a sad smile on his face… like he accepted defeat.

“I’m not going anywhere. I’ll be right here,” he said, taking a shot for himself while putting one more in front of me. I downed it, jumped from the barstool and with one last look at him, I walked toward the terrace. The cold air hit me on the face as soon as I stepped out to the terrace. Fortunately, it was empty and I could be on my own to think.

Since the first day I started to work at the club, there had been an attraction between Mike and I. I was drawn to his mysterious, bad-boy persona. He was cold, almost a jerk to others in the club, but to me, he was different; still the cold, distant and cocky asshole, but I also saw his magnetic, brooding bad-boy charm. I liked the way he checked me out or talked to me with that Southern accent, how he called me “cupcake” with that gleam in his eyes.
