She Turned into a Werewolf

I then motioned for them to turn around and they did. I then began to slowly take my clothes off, my heart racing as I did so. As I was taking my clothes off, Cath peaked back and looked at me.
“Nina, why are you taking your clothes off?” She asked completely confused.
“Cath please just turn around and trust me.” She must have seen the look on my face for the fact that she did so.
I began to change as fast as I could not wanting them to turn around and see me in mid-change. Before I knew it, I was on my four legs and my white fur hung from my body. I decided to go into a sitting position and wrap my tail around my legs anxiously waiting for them to turn back around. What if they freak out and don’t want me anymore? What if they run? My heart was beating so fast I thought it was going to have a heart attack. Before I knew it, they slowly turned around. Their eyes level to where I would have been originally before changing. Slowly Cath’s eyes fell to where I was located as I said absolutely nothing. Her eyes grew wide and her mouth fell open. She took her hand to cover her mouth as her face looked petrified. My mother on the other hand didn’t react at all like I thought she would. It was very strange.
“Oh my god!” My sister yelled. “Is that you Nina? How can this be?”
Not being in my human form there wasn’t any way I could communicate with her directly, so all I was able to do was make a little noise indicating that it was indeed me. Her eyes just grew wider as I made the noise.
“What are you?” She asked me.
I realized that I really didn’t plan this through. I was going to need Lucas after all as a translator.
“Lucas?” I called out in my head hoping he wasn’t busy.
“Yes, dear sweat Nina?”
He asked me. “Are you busy?” I asked him.
“Hmm no, I will always be able to make time for you. What do you need?”
“I decided to tell my family about who I am but I didn’t really plan it too well. Long story short I’m in my wolf form and there is no way I can communicate with them. Is there any way you can be my translator?” I asked him.
He laughed and said, “yes give me a few minutes.”
In the meantime, while I was waiting for Lucas to arrive, I slowly made my way to my family. I walked up to Catherine and my mom, but Catherine backed away slowly. She was petrified. I lowered my head in sadness as grief struck me. I didn’t want her to be afraid of me so I didn’t push her anymore as I backed away from her. A knock sounded from the door. My mom went to go answer it as Cath kept her eyes glued to every move I made.
“Hello Lucas,” my mother said as she opened the door.
There he was standing in the doorway coming to my rescue once again.
“Good evening Mrs. Day,” Lucas said.
“I heard that Nina needs my help in explaining our world.”
“Thank you,” I said to him in my head.
“Anytime.” He said back to me.
“Please do,” Catherine said to him. “This isn’t really Nina, right? This isn’t possible.” She said to Lucas baffled.
Lucas took a deep breath and said “Yes, this is Nina. This world really does exist, the world of werewolves. This place you see is home to many different werewolves. What happened in the woods earlier was a rogue pack trying to attack you. They want Nina and she refused them. Because of this, they decided that the best way to get back at her would be through you guys.”
Catherine began to shake her head in denial.
“This can’t be true, it just can’t be. How do I know you aren’t making this all up? How do I honestly know it is Nina.”
“Hmm good question, give me a few minutes so I can ask her something that only someone who is very close to you will know.”
“Hmm,” I thought to Lucas.
“Tell her that her diary is stored under her mattress and she fantasizes about this guy named Brad who went to high school with her.”
Lucas repeated what I said. I noticed that my sister’s face turned red and she turned towards me and said
“Nina, that’s private. What were you doing in my diary?”
I just pretended to submit to her by putting my head under my paws. This caused her to roll her eyes as she said
“Ok, I trust you. That is definitely Nina. Nobody else would interrupt my private life so much. Are you a werewolf as well?” She asked Lucas.
“Yes, along with most of us who live here.”
“Really?” she asked him.
“Yes,” he simply responded.
“So werewolves really do exist in the world?” She questioned him further.
“Yes,” he simply explained once more.
“Do you all look like Nina?” She asked pointing to me. “Do they all have the white fur like her?”
“No, Nina’s fur coat is rare. They range from grey, to red, to black. Mine for example is black.”
“Is it wrong for me to ask if I could see?” Cath asked Lucas.
“Hmm if you would really like to see I can show you.” He told Catherine.
“You don’t have to do that,” I told Lucas in my head. “You’ve done a lot already.”
“Relax Nina, it is alright. If she wants I will show her. It won’t bother me at all.” “Thank you,” I responded back to him as he bowed his head to me in return.
Catherine squealed in delight.
“Ooh!! Could you please? I really want to see the black wolf coat. I’ve never actually met a wolf, well until now. I have always been fascinated with the black color. Can I please see it?”
“Sure,” Lucas said in return. “Just turn around and I will change. Well unless you want to watch me change it doesn’t bother me on which you do.”
He then began to take his clothes off, my mother turned around but Catherine remained watching him. I padded over to her and used my body weight to turn her around. For some reason, I really didn’t want Catherine to watch him change. Reluctantly, she turned around once she got the hint of what I was doing. Before I knew it, Lucas let out a small howl in order to get our attention. We all turned our gazes towards him. No matter how many times I see him in his wolf form I can’t get over how beautiful and remarkable his coat is. It reminds me of the midnight sky drawing in my wolf.
“You’re beautiful,” Catherine said in awestruck.
I’m not going to lie it stung and upset me that she didn’t say that to me. I felt a little betrayed that she could be repulsed by me only a few minutes ago and be drawn in by him. She walked right up to him and began petting him.
“I’m so sorry,” I said to Lucas. “I really didn’t know she would come up and pet you like a dog,” I said to him giving him my best apology look as possibly.
He let out a small rumble of laughter and said, “It's ok Nina. You worry too much. At least I can now say I’ve actually been pet before.”
And with that, we both began to laugh.
After a few minutes, I tried to turn my mother and Catherine around. Eventually, they got the hint and they did just that. I changed back into my human form and put my clothing back on making sure Lucas wasn’t watching me. He behaved like a gentleman and didn’t pay any attention to me knowing that I didn’t like others seeing me that way. After I changed, I turned away from Lucas letting him do the same as me. Once we were both fully dressed I called back out to my sister telling her that it was safe for her to look once more.
“I can’t believe you never told us. How long have you been like this?” She said to me in utter disbelief.
“I’m so sorry I really wanted to tell you, I honestly did. Seth always said I wasn’t allowed to until Lucas told me I could. I’ve only been like this for a few months though.”
“Ok,” Cath said to me.
Then my mother spoke up. “How did you become like this? Both myself and Catherine aren’t like this.”
“Honestly I have no idea. I was never bitten so I didn’t pick it up. Well as far as I can remember I never was. Is there a possibility that dad
was?” I asked my mother.
“No, he was normal just like me. There is no way he was. If that was the case I would have known.”
She answered me back. Her eyes were a little glassed over. I assumed that she was just not feeling too well. “Mom? Do you feel ok?” I asked her worried about her. “
Yes Nina,” She simply stated back to me.
“Well I better get going, I have something to do in a little bit,” Lucas said to us.
I turned to face him.
“Thank you so much, Lucas. It really means a lot to me that you can help me out when I need you.”
He bowed his head to me and said “You’re welcome dear sweet Nina. Call whenever you need me and I mean it.”
“Always,” I replied back to him and with that, he opened the door and left.
I faced Catherine and my mother once more. “Are you afraid of me?” I asked them.
“Heavens no you’re still my baby girl.” My mother said to me.
Instead of answering me my sister came straight up to me. For a minute I thought she was going to insult me and say that I was some sort of an abomination. I was prepared for the worst. Instead, she opened up her arms and gave me a big hug.
“There is nothing to be afraid of Nina. I would never be afraid of you. You are a good person, we all know that. You would never do anything to hurt us. Plus, I myself am a little jealous. Do you know how much I wished that werewolves were real and that I could be one? You have the life I always wished for.”
I laughed out loud at what my sister said, “That’s funny. I always wished I could be just like you. To be the child who could help her mother out whenever she needed her. To be the good child always doing everything perfectly.”
“Nina, you are that person. Whether you know it yourself or not.”
A few hours later I went to change into my pajamas and curl up in my bed exhausted from everything that happened the last few days. I really needed some time to relax. I was too worried about whether or not Seth and the others were still after us. I knew that he probably was, but I had to be certain. I couldn’t believe that he would expect me to say yes to marry him. I am not some sort of doll that can be tossed around without her own free will. I never did like him especially like that. I know that my family is safe, but I can’t stop worrying about them. What if they somehow do manage to get through everyone who is here? What if they do manage to hurt one of them? It would be all my fault. They can’t defend themselves while being human. I wished they were educated on using weapons that way I would feel a little better about them being alone. If something were to happen to them my worst fears in life would come true.
“Relax Nina relax.” I thought to myself.
Nothing was going to happen to them. I had to trust the others. It would be a miracle if they were clever enough to get through everyone here. I knew that some of the wolves would give up their own lives to protect the rest of us. I was sure Lucas was one of them. For reasons unknown thinking of Lucas calmed me down and I was finally able to drift off to sleep.
Chapter 9
The next morning, I was awoken by the sound of thunder on my door. I went to go answer it. It was Reed at the door exhilarating a childish grin.
“Hey, Reed, what’s up?” I asked him.
“Good morning Nina, nice pajamas.”
My face blushed as I came to the realization that I wasn’t dressed yet. Seeing my face caused Reed to laugh out loud in a dark husky voice.
“Don’t worry you look nice. No matter what you’re dressed in, you will always look nice.”
“Thank you, Reed,” I responded to him.
“You are very welcome. Anyway, the others and I were wondering if you would like to go on a run with us.”
I looked back at my family debating on whether or not to leave them.
“Don’t worry about them,” Reed said as he pointed his head towards my sister and mother. “They will be completely fine. There are plenty of us here who can watch them.” “
Hmm ok.” I responded back to him. “You must give me a little bit of time to get ready though. I have to get dressed before I can do anything.”
He bowed his head and said “Of course. Meet us outside where the party was the other night.”
“Sounds good,” I responded back to him, and with that, he turned around and left to join the others.
I walked back into my room debating on what to wear. I decided on a pair of jeans that had holes at the knees along with a white tank top. Being that I would be taking it off in a few minutes anyway I didn’t want to dress in anything fancy. I walked over to the mirror that was beside the closet. I remembered the leather outfit as I did so. Maybe Cassie and the others didn’t have anything to do with the outfit, maybe Lucas and the others did? Maybe I should just ask them instead for the fact that I had no idea when I would see Cassie again. She probably has her hands full with that Adelina girl that she said was such a pain to be around.
Once I was completely dressed and ready, I made my way out the door and into the hall. It felt so strange that there could basically be a house inside of a bigger house. It was mind-blowing if you asked me. The chandeliers on the ceiling of the hallway always lit my interest each time I walked in it. It was an exuberant sight. The light flickered as you walked past, not in a creepy way, but in a peaceful manner. I followed the red carpet until I made my way to the door that led outside where the others would be waiting for me.
The morning sun hit me as I walked out the main doors and into the area where I was just a few nights ago. Panic struck me as I remembered the horrific events that occurred from this dreadful area. Before I knew it, Lucas was next to me his face full of concern. My eyes were focused on the grass in front of me, my eyesight clouded from the events that occurred.
“Nina? Are you ok?” Lucas asked me.
I slowly dragged my eyes away from the grass and towards him. I shook my head to clear the images that were forming. Then I looked straight at Lucas and said honestly, “I’m ok. Just thinking about everything that happened here the other night. I’m still a little shaken up about the whole thing. I’m so sorry.”
“Don’t be Nina. It is I who am sorry. You did nothing wrong. I shouldn’t have left you alone. If it makes you feel any better, they had a court hearing and everyone who was involved has been kicked from this castle and is now a rogue group. They were sent off to Alaska to find a new place to live. You don’t have to worry about them anymore. If they even step foot around this territory their lives will be in danger, since they have been exiled.”
“Thanks,” I said to him. He simply bowed his head and took my hand to the rest of the group.
“I think it is about time that you were introduced to the rest of the gang,” Lucas said. “Well you already know Reed quite well, so I don’t think you really need to be introduced to him.”
To this Reed pretended to make a pouty face.
“But what if I really wanted to meet her?” Reed questioned Lucas.
To this Lucas laughed and said, “Go ahead and meet her than you big baby.”
Reed walked up to me and I said to him playing along, “Have we met before? Your face is so familiar I swear I’ve seen you before.”
Reed smiled at me. “No, I don’t believe so. I think I would have recognized that beautiful face if I would have seen it before now.”
“My apologies Sir,” I said back to him bowing. “It must have been a different man.”
Then Reed grabbed my hand and gently kissed the back of it.
“No need to apologize my lady.” I rolled my eyes at him and we both laughed.
Lucas rolled his eyes and grabbed my arm. He pulled me along to the others saying “I think you two have had enough time to get acquainted. Now let’s be serious and meet the others.”
I swore I picked up a hint of hurt on Lucas. Once I looked at him again though, the hurt expression was gone. I must have been imagining it, it wouldn’t be the first time in which my mind mad
e me see things that weren’t true. Hopefully, I wasn’t going crazy. I didn’t need that in my life as well.
The first man Lucas brought me to after Reed was a tall slender man. He wasn’t as tall as Lucas but almost. I would say that he was approximately about one inch shorter than him. He had green emerald-colored eyes that sparkled in the sun. “This is Liam, he was the wolf that helped you take down the elk at the neck,” Lucas said to me.
He stuck his hand out for me to shake while he said, “Pleasure to finally meet the famous Nina properly.”
I smiled at him and said “Pleasure to meet you as well. I’m not very famous though.” He smiled back at me and said, “If only you knew the truth.” We stopped shaking hands and I put them back to my side.
The second man Lucas brought me to was one with a very tan skin tone. He had a very broad chest, bigger than the others. His eyes reminded me of dark chocolate. He was around the same height as the others but a little shorter, but what he lacked in height made up for muscle. “Nina meet Darius,” Lucas said nodding his head in the direction of Darius. “He was the wolf who took over Reed’s place when he was injured.” I looked at him with a grateful expression.
“Thank you for doing that. No matter what Reed tells you, he was injured, and he needed your help.”
Then Reed interrupted us saying “hey! I can hear you guys over here. I’m not a pansy.”
I just waved him off and Darius said, “You’re welcome Nina. Plus, even if I didn’t want to save that crazy dude,” he looked over toward Reed flashing him a smile who in turn rolled his eyes at him, “I’m pretty sure Lucas would have made me.”
“Oh well, it means the same to me whether you were forced to help him or you chose to.” He bowed his head to me in an accepting gesture.
“Ok Nina, come on we don’t have all day.” I then walked over to Lucas and stuck my tongue out at him.
“Speak for yourself, I don’t have a life.” He smiled at this response and grabbed my hand and brought me to the next guys amongst the group.
This one had medium-length hair that went to his chin. He had soft blue eyes, not like the color of mine as mine were dark, but his were very light like the color of baby blue. He was one of the only ones without the brown color hair amongst the group. His was a blonde color that reminded me of a summer day. He had a crooked smile on his face as I approached. I got the feeling that this werewolf was a pretty nice guy. He also looked like if he was just a regular human he would have been very popular in high school based on his looks. Without even waiting for Lucas to say anything, he stuck his hand out to me. His tenor voice said to me “Hello beautiful, my name is Caleb.”
