The Fallon Brothers: Kinney

Page 6

by Esther E. Schmidt

“You know,” Byrne starts. “It’s unhealthy to have this kind of an obsession with a chick.”

“Mind your own fucking business. When you have an old lady you can start to judge me. None of you have one special person who exists merely to make you feel alive. Like I said, find one fucking woman who lights up your world and then come talk to me again.” Kier shoots a glare at both Nics and Byrne who both flash their hands—palms up—in surrender.

“Kier is coming with me,” I state.

We stroll into the main room of the clubhouse and Kier is next to me when we get to the bar where Mira and Aspen are sitting. Mira is looking slightly better but she still suffers from morning sickness. Even with all the good care and the food Aspen has been making, she hasn’t gained much weight.

Kier stalks up to Mira and she instantly leans into his touch. Aspen smiles at the sight of those two and I do have to say, I’ve never seen Kier act in such a gentle and yet possessive way when it comes to a woman. And it seems Mira relishes in it too.

“We need to head out. You’re going to stay here with Aspen, yeah?” Mira nods at Kier’s words.

Aspen, on the other hand, is still giving me the same death glare since I left her waiting for me—tied to the bed and covered with my cum—until I was done with my shower.

“What?” I mock. “No sweet nothings for me?”

“I’ll give you sweet nothings in the shape of kissing your ass with a jackhammer,” she grumbles underneath her breath.

I wrap my fingers around the back of her neck and make her look me in the eye. She gives me an unyielding expression and it only makes my dick harden. I don’t waste time with words but crash my mouth against hers; taking what is mine due to the favor we have in place. This is also why I get a minimum reaction in return. It’s the whole ‘commit to our agreement but don’t expect any extras either’ vibe.

A low growl rumbles through my chest and I tighten my grip, making it clear I’m not satisfied with a half-ass kiss. Her fingers grab my cut and she forcefully pushes me back. Our mouths disconnect and I’m about to swing some curse words her way but she practically jumps me and crashes our mouths together. Fucking fierce woman making a point to let it be her initiative.

Catcalls ring out but I ignore everyone except the woman whose ass I’m gripping as she grinds herself against my painfully hard dick. Shit. I’m betting her intention is to give me some mighty blue balls before I leave, but fuck if I care.

I knead her fine ass in my hands and let her grind herself against me some more while we deepen the kiss and each fight for dominance.

A loud whistle rips our lips apart. My eyes land on Kier who is standing with his arms crossed in front of his chest, impatient as if he has waited an hour or so. Mira, on the other hand, is now looking at us with a swooning look on her face.

I regretfully let Aspen slide down my body so she’s standing on her own two feet. I refuse to let her go so I keep my arm wrapped tightly around her waist. I bury my face into the crook of her neck and let my nose travel up. She shivers at my touch and that’s a huge damn feeling of satisfaction roaring through me.

“I have to swing by to see Shea, inform him about the info you gave us. Nics is going to grab Leon’s guy while we handle it. I’m going to ask if Shea wants to join the little party we’re throwing the fucker,” I murmur low in her ear.

“Can I join you guys?” she questions.

I regretfully pull back. “I need you here, eyes on Mira. We don’t have the fucker in our hands yet and if things go wrong while I’m on my way to Shea, I rather have you here with Mira.”

I don’t owe her an explanation but this woman obviously functions better if we stand on equal ground.

The corner of her mouth tips slightly up and the “okay” she gives me is said with understanding.

Kier rubs his hands together. “What’s for dinner when we get back?”

It’s actually a question I’m curious about too. It’s never been an issue before the women were here. We either order something separate from each other, go out, or skip it all and just drink and snack. But home cooked meals are a real treat Aspen spoils us with. I know she does it to make sure her friend eats, but fuck...she makes sure there’s enough for all my brothers and that’s something special to me. To all of us.

“I’m making soup,” Mira shyly says.

“And I’m helping in case her stomach acts up. We’re starting as soon as one of the guys I sent out with our list returns.”

“Who did you send out? A prospect? A brother?” Kier asks.

Aspen shrugs. “To me everyone is called ‘not Kinney’. I don’t remember faces or names.”

Her eyes hit mine and I know that’s a load of crap with her photographic memory but her answer is rather ego stroking.

“Hear that, brother?” I rumble while keeping my gaze locked with Aspen. “No one matters but me.”

Kier snorts while Aspen rolls her eyes. She might have been pissed at me and yeah, I was pissed at her too—or more like disappointed due to my own expectations—but all of it also made me think things through.

“You and I are going to have a little chat when I get back,” I tell her and she nods as if she has the same need to clear the air between us.

I turn on my heels and head for my bike, Kier close behind me. It’s a twenty-minute drive to get to Shea’s mansion and the four guards we pass on the way to the door all have their weapons visible. Shea is on high alert and he’s right to do so with Leon making waves. It’s as if the fucker is challenging us to take over our territory. Fat fucking chance.

Fabrizio, Shea’s head of security, opens the door and gives us a nod. “He’s in his office.”

Kier falls in step behind me. The door to his office is open and I find him leaning against his desk with a glass in his hand.

“Kinney,” he says in greeting as he holds his glass up. “Want one of these?”

Eyeing the few decades old whiskey, I shake my head. “No thanks. I’m expecting confirmation from Nics, which means I’m heading to a warehouse soon for some plain and old school torture.”

Shea pushes away from his desk. “You found the fucker who killed Guido?”

“My old lady shared some info. Nics said it checks out and is picking the fucker up.” My phone chimes with a message.

Fishing it out of my pocket, I notice it’s Nics, letting me know everything is set.

I hold up my phone. “All set. Wanna join us?”

Shea slams his empty glass down on his desk. “Yes,” he hisses.

He doesn’t bother with grabbing his jacket off the back of his chair but stalks right out with his white dress shirt, slacks, and expensive leather loafers.

“Fabrizio, bring the car around, we’re going out.” Fabrizio rushes off at Shea’s words while Kier and I head for our bikes but Shea stops me.

“Any update about the pregnant woman?” Shea questions, making Kier freeze up next to me.

“No. I’m thinking she left town.” I rub my jaw as if I’m contemplating, but me and Kier talked it through and came up with a few lines we could feed him if he started to question us, so I give him one. “Probably miscarried or something like that. Any other woman would have come knocking for money sooner rather than later, don’t you think?”

Shea nods thoughtfully. “Shame,” he murmurs. “The woman would have given me a new start. Easy to keep, already knocked up. Okay. Well, keep your eyes and ears open, she might turn up. I don’t want loose ends in case you’re right with the whole money thing. She could wait till she has the kid and demand a paycheck. Maybe we need to put more guys on it, she’s out there, I’m sure of it.”

“Save your bloodlust for those who fucking deserve it,” Kier hisses.

I hold my hand up in front of Kier’s chest in an effort to both shut him up and calm him down. “Kier is pumped up for what’s to come. Like I mentioned, I’m handling it. If she turns up, you’ll be the first to know. Now, are we ready to blo
w off some steam?”

Gravel crunches underneath the tires of the limo appearing in front of us. Fabrizio steps out and opens the door to the backseat, holding it open for Shea. Both me and Kier straddle our bikes and lead Shea to the warehouse located on the outskirts of town.

We all stroll inside the warehouse except for Fabrizio and the limo driver. Looks like Nics and Byrne already started without us.

  “Couldn’t wait?” Kier snickers.

Nics rolls his shoulders. “The fucker was getting on my nerves and it was a nice way to test the new welder.”

“One damn toe less to worry about,” Byrne states but Shea looks pissed.

“You could have gagged him. This isn’t solely club business.” I need to give my brothers a slight reprimand since Shea is the one facing the Leon threat.

Both my brothers nod. Shea rolls up his sleeves and glances over the equipment littering a table near the wall. He settles on a blowtorch and lazily stalks over to where Mario, Leon’s little helper, is strapped to a chair.

“I don’t need any information out of this fucker since I’m planning on ripping Leon’s head off and killing everyone else connected to his shady fucking business he thinks he can run in my damn city. What about you?” Shea keeps his eyes pinned on Mario whose last minutes are ticking away, yet I know he’s throwing the question at me.

“Same here, boss,” I simply say because between me and Shea, he has the final verdict in this matter.

Shea’s reply comes in the shape of firing up the blowtorch. Nics is smiling huge. The idiot always loves to play with fire and the added torture to him is an added bonus, as if he’s watching a hot new action movie. The stench of burning flesh instantly fills the air along with Mario’s screams.

Kier checks his watch. “I don’t think this pussy is going to last five minutes.”

Byrne leans toward us. “Mario had his jaw clamped shut when Nics started playing with him. I’d say ten minutes, tops.”

Shea has burned one of the guy’s bare feet, the one Nics already started to mutilate. He strolls back to the equipment and trades the blowtorch for a knife and lets the weight of it flow through his hands, bouncing it from left to right.

Squatting down in front of Mario’s burned foot, Shea scrapes over the burns and slides the skin right off. Mario can’t stand the sight of his foot being dissected and pukes all over the floor.

Shea’s upper lip twitches in dismay. “Puking like a girl already? I’ve barely started, asshole.”

“I’m not a fucking girl, you Italian prick,” the guy hisses.

Shea jams the knife between the fucker’s legs right into the chair, making him struggle against his bindings and curse loud.

“Could have fooled me,” Shea chuckles. “From where I’m standing, I clearly notice the knife didn’t nick your balls. Do you even have ’em? Girls don’t. Hence the fact you remind me of a girl. I’ve never met a girl who can hold her own during a nice torture session.”

Aspen comes to mind and it’s as if Shea can hear my thoughts when he slowly spins around and gives me a knowing look.

“We owe this gathering to your old lady. I’d say we owe her the pleasure of sharing. Get her here so we can do some…bonding.”

I know a damn order when I hear one and right now, he wants Aspen connected to this; make her an accomplice.

“I’ll go get her,” I state, clenching my jaw shut right after.

I have issues with his request while at the same time I know damn well it’s a smart thing to do.

“Make one of your prospects bring her, no need for you to drive back and forth,” Shea says and rips the knife out of the chair.

I grab my phone and shoot a message to one of the prospects to bring her to me. I instantly regret I postponed our talk till later because we have a lot of unsolved issues between us. This could go very wrong.

  CHAPTER SEVEN

  — Aspen —

The truck Dan—the prospect who practically ordered me to come with him—is driving comes to a stop. His hard eyes land on me. “You need to get in there.” He jerks his chin toward what seems like an abandoned warehouse.

I raise my eyebrow and ask, “How long until they will patch you in?”

His eyes narrow. “Maybe within two months or so, why?”

I open the door and jump out glancing over my shoulder. “You have the asshole attitude down to a T,” I tell him and slam the door shut behind me. I seriously don’t like the dude.

There’s a healthy dose of fear and adrenaline surging through me. Why in the hell did Kinney order a prospect to drive me to an abandoned warehouse to meet him? Is this part of the whole “We need to have a talk” thing he mentioned before he left?

Steeling my nerves, I take a deep breath and mentally prepare myself to be ready for anything. A fight. A trap. A confrontation. I have to be alert and ready. I wipe my palms on the fabric of my jeans before I open the door and step inside.

Stepping in I see a large open space with a man strapped to a chair right in the middle. Mario, the guy I ratted out to Kinney. Shea is standing near him, a blowtorch in hand, teasing the guy by bringing it close and then pulling away. Nics and Byrne are standing on one side, Kier and Kinney are facing me.

Kinney holds out his hand and my body moves without thinking. He pulls me into his body and buries his head into the crook of my neck. He breathes me in and slowly lets his lips slide to my ear.

“Shea is up to something. You’re mine, Aspen, you hear?”

It’s a warning, plain and clear. Something tells me Shea is unpredictable and even Kinney doesn’t know how he will react and it makes me again wonder what the hell I’m doing here. Though the whole “you’re mine” part? Different than when he was fucking me and demanding me to surrender. This one isn’t about submitting; this is about protecting what he deems his.

A shiver runs up my spine.

I must be losing my mind because this turns me on and it makes me tell him in a husky tone, “I’m yours. And make no mistake, the claim is mutual; you’re mine, Kinney.”

“Fuck,” he snaps and buries his fist in my hair, pulling my head back with a bite of erotic pain before he slams his mouth over mine.

“Can we focus on the torture? Because all this fluffy shit makes me wanna puke,” Nics says and chuckles.

It makes me regretfully drag my lips away from Kinney to glare at him.

“Hateful, Nikki boy. All I’m hearing are words ringing with jealousy. So, you can sit on this,” Kinney says and flips him the bird.

Nics’ head falls back and laughter rips out.

“Focus, people,” Shea grumbles but I notice his voice tings with a hint of laughter and his entire focus is on me and Kinney. “Bring the lovely lady closer.”

Mario moans and assesses the whole situation around him. “Why bring women into this? It’s what started it. You guys have no damn respect. Luigi didn’t learn his tricks from a stranger, wanting a woman who doesn’t belong to him.” Mario has the nerve to spit on Shea’s shiny loafers.

Shea’s fingers are wrapped around Mario’s throat before he can take another breath. The blowtorch is nearing Mario’s eye as Shea threatens, “What the fuck are you talking about? We never let women interfere with business. This woman here is an assassin and I requested her presence to see how resourceful she will get when we allow her free range. Explain why you would bring my son into this.”

The blowtorch inches closer and the guy starts to rattle, “Luigi stole the woman Leon wanted but could never have. Not until a few months ago when he took care of the problem. She was his and Luigi stole her. He took her fucking virginity, disrespecting everyone and rubbing it in Leon’s face how he impregnated her.”

Silence falls as a thick blanket over everyone. My heart is slamming against my rib cage. I only knew someone had an interest in Mira for a long time, but her father always protected her against the insanity of someone obsessing over her. That’s all she told me. I didn’t know the on
e obsessing was her own damn uncle.

And the whole mentioning about Leon taking care of the problem? Fuck. She told me her parents were murdered in the same phone call as the one telling me she was pregnant. Leon killed her parents, I’m sure.

But I’m not so sure everyone here makes the connection. I press myself closer to Kinney and make his eyes land on mine. I hope he can see the look in my eyes when I plead for him to change the subject. His eyes widen a fragment and I know he just made the connection.

“You already know about the pregnant lady. We’re looking into it. The whole why and how when it comes to Leon is of no concern of ours. He’s not going to be alive for long anyway,” Kinney says and chuckles. “Go on, darlin’ show these guys some of your skills.”

“I’d love to,” I croon and lean in right next to his ear, quickly rushing out my words, “Mira is Leon’s niece, but her parents kept her far away from him because he was obsessed with her. It’s the reason I quit my job because my supervisor is an asshole who didn’t want to risk anything, not when it comes to someone connected to a drug lord. Clearly Leon killed his own brother. Fucking twisted idiot.”

Kinney’s fingers press against the back of my neck, sliding into my hair to pull me back. “No need to ask me if you’re allowed to cross boundaries, darlin’. We don’t need to keep him alive, his body will be the message we need to get across to Leon so he knows he’s gonna be next.” He places a hard kiss on my mouth and murmurs, “Thank you.”

I release a deep breath. I expected him to be angry for keeping Mira’s connection with Leon a secret, though it wasn’t my secret to spill. But he needed to know now.

  “Mine, remember?” Kinney says fiercely.

I wrap my fingers into his leather cut and pull him closer. “As you are mine as well,” I tell him equally as fierce.

His chuckle makes goose bumps spread all over my skin. “Go have fun.” He pats my ass and I can’t help but grin widely.

I glance over all the stuff spread out to get creative while torturing. A lot of it is merely to scare the shit out of a person, and let’s face it, that’s what you want; for them to surrender and give what you want. The whole ‘any means necessary’ does spike creativity.
