“Yes,” Josephine nodded and gripped the strap of her purse tighter. “We were very close. My husband thought a lot of her too- this way he’ll never forget her.”

  ***

“Ouch!” Catrina gasped and placed a hand to her side. Without looking, she knew her husband had pushed himself to stand from the kitchen table.

“It’s alright,” she called, “one of ‘em just kicked the hell out of me.”

Slowly, Damon came round the table and joined his wife where she leaned against the counter. He and Catrina had been told to expect twins soon. The possibility of a double birth had the family on pins of excitement.

The mom-to-be however was more excited by the possibility of the babies making their debut and kicking something besides her insides.

“Quiet as lambs now,” Catrina laughed when Damon put his hand on her stomach. “You must have some power over them.”

Damon smirked. “They know who’s in charge.”

“Right…let’s see you say that when they’re out and using your head for a punching bag.”

“Trina…” Damon seemed to grow serious then. “I just hope they’re good and not…not monsters.” He pulled his hand away from her stomach when he spoke the last word.

Catrina pulled it back. “You don’t have to worry about that. They will be good- good through and through. With you for a father, they’ll have no choice.”

Damon looked down. “My father was a good man.”

She cupped his face and made him look up. “Yes. Yes he was.”

Finally Damon nodded as though he’d decided to dwell on that fact alone. He gave a refreshing sigh and squeezed his wife’s hands where they rested on his face.

“I predict this next generation will make the Ramseys the family my father wanted. It’ll be tough- we’ve really made a mess of things.”

“Amen.” Catrina agreed with a smile. “But I’ve got faith in them too.”

“You think they can handle it?” Damon asked and felt double kicks thud against his hand.

“Ouch!” Catrina laughed. She was still laughing when Damon pulled her into a kiss.

  Dear Reader,

  Greetings and Thank You!

Authors often thank their readers for making what they do possible. When I say ‘thank you readers’, it goes far beyond simple gratification. It’s the readers who have played such a monumental role in fueling the motivation required to tackle such a task and keep it going.. I treasure your encouragement.

Thank you just doesn’t seem to cut it when I try to express how much I appreciate my reader base. Spending your hard earned money and your valuable time especially following these characters and situations from my imagination means the world to me. I love you guys.

  Blessings,
