Accidental Love
Page 8
“I’ll fix dinner,” Emma called after him. She started toward the kitchen.
Zoe wheeled at her heels. “Oh no you don’t. Don’t even begin to think you can get away without telling me how you feel.”
Emma opened and closed cupboard doors, frantically looking for ingredients.
“Emma, look at me.”
She spun around and faced her friend.
“You’re glowing. My brother obviously did something right.”
Emma felt the heat creeping up her neck and taking over her face.
“Come and sit down. I don’t want details; I want to know if it was everything you’d hoped for.” She moved near the table.
Emma took a seat. It was only fair she tell her friend a little, after all, she had told Emma about her very first time.
“It was better than I hoped. Cody was wonderful. He was caring, gentle, everything I knew he would be.” Emotional tears sprang to her eyes.
Zoe took her by the hand. “What’s wrong then?”
“I just can’t believe what’s happening. I’ve loved him for so long and now he says he loves me. He whispers in my ear and tingles race through me. It’s amazing. I’m terrified I’ll wake up and find out I’ve been dreaming.”
“I promise you its real, not some dream. I’ve never seen my brother as happy as he’s been in the past couple of weeks. You’re always on his mind. Even Gil and Spencer said they have given up asking him anything. They write important things down and shove the paper in his pocket. They figure he’ll eventually get around to answering them. Fortunately, they have been around long enough to be able to make decisions that Cody will be happy with.”
“My goodness, I didn’t know he was distracted from the ranch.”
“Don’t worry. He’s been working the horses and the men have been taking care of everything else. There is a shipment of stock horses and cutting ponies going out in the next few days and then there will be a break for two months before some more are rounded up. He’ll only have the cattle to bring up and brand in about a months’ time. It’s a quiet time of the year.”
“What’s a quiet time of the year?” The girls jumped when Cody spoke.
“I was telling Emma about the horses going out in a couple of days and that it will be quieter after that.”
“Still a lot of work to be done though. Need help with dinner?” He glanced around the kitchen.
Emma looked guilty. “We’ve been talking and I haven’t started any yet. I’m sorry.”
“Don’t be. Give me a minute to change and how about we go into town?”
The girl’s glanced at each other before smiling at Cody. “Done.” Emma answered.

Emma looped her hand through Cody’s elbow as they strolled up the hill from the restaurant to the bar. Cody pushed Zoe’s wheelchair.
The noise from the bar drifted down to them, the closer they got to the establishment, the louder it got. When Emma reached out to open the door for Cody and Zoe, the sound from the resident band and chatter of patrons, was deafening.
“I’ll go and get our drinks while you find a table.” Cody shouted in Emma’s ear.
She pushed the chair through the crowded room until she spotted Caitlin and Scott with Dan at a half empty table. She hurriedly headed over.
“Emma, Zoe, what are you two doing here?” Dan asked. Caitlin was tucked on his lap where she swayed to the music.
Thankfully, the musicians decided a half an hour break was required and the noise subsided enough for them to talk.
“Cody took us out for dinner and we decided to stop by for a drink.” Emma explained as she pushed Zoe into the table beside Scott.
“Hi Zoe. It’s good to see you again.” Scott said as he shuffled his chair even closer to her.
Caitlin giggled. “You can answer his questions yourself now. It’s like I’m being interviewed for a gossip magazine every time I go home after we’ve had a session.”
Scott glared at his sister before turning back to Zoe with an embarrassed expression on his face. “I wanted to know more about you. I hope you don’t mind.”
“I don’t mind at all but you’re welcome to visit me at the ranch and ask me yourself.”
Under the table, away from view, Scott gathered her hand into his and leaned closer. “Will you go out for dinner with me? Somewhere quiet where we can talk and get to know one another.”
Zoe hesitated. Why on earth would a gorgeous hunk like him want to go out with a cripple?
“Zoe?” Scott could see she was trying to figure out what he could possibly see in her. “Please, will you have dinner with me? I would really love to get to know you.”
Cody placed the drinks on the table and stepped to where Emma was seated talking to Caitlin. He frowned when he saw Scott whispering in his sister’s ear. Zoe looked scared to death and he was ready to sit Scott on his ass, when his sister smiled. Cody relaxed, stood Emma up and pulled her on to his lap.
Dan raised his eyebrows and winked at his sister.
“Yes, I’ll have dinner with you,” Zoe accepted.
“Tomorrow night?” Scott asked eagerly.
“I’ll have to call you. I need to check if someone can bring me into town and pick me up later.” Zoe glanced at Emma and her brother who were locked in a passionate kiss. A tear sprang to her eye. Would she ever meet someone who would love her despite her disability?
“I’d like to come and pick you up and I’ll take you home, if you don’t mind.”
“That would be lovely thank you.”
“Good. Seven o’clock?”
“Perfect.”
“What’s perfect?” Cody asked.
“Scott is picking me up tomorrow night and taking me out for dinner.” Zoe answered.
Cody opened his mouth to protest but Emma shook her head slightly. She was right, he had to let go.
“Sounds great. Anywhere special in mind?”
“There’s a lovely restaurant on the sea front about an hour from here. I thought I’d make a reservation there.” Scott sipped at his beer.
“That’s Frederick’s. Very high class. It’s only been open about a month and it’s hard to get reservations. Apparently the chef is world class, he’s from back east somewhere. How are you going to get a booking?” Cody asked.
“The owners are clients. He said to give him a call anytime and he’ll make sure I have a table. Enrico is the Chef. He’s part owner. Frederick is his partner in more ways than one. They came out here for the peace and quiet.”
“I’m so jealous. Lawyers move in la de da circles, don’t they?” Emma said.
Scott laughed. “I can get you in any time you want to go. Just give me a call and I’ll arrange it. As my friends you’ll be very welcome.”
“Oooh, now we can be all hoity toity too.” Emma laughed.
“It’s time we hoity toitied out of here. It’s getting late and I have some things I need to get done.” Cody grinned at Emma and she felt the heat encompass her face as she blushed.
As Emma and Cody said goodbye to Dan and Caitlin, Scott leaned over and gently kissed Zoe’s lips. As she was wheeled back to Cody’s truck, she ran her finger over her lips, marvelling at how much she had enjoyed Scott’s kiss.

Emma helped Zoe undress, wash and settled her into bed. She crept down the hallway to Cody’s room and softly knocked on the door. He opened it, naked as the day he was born. Her eyes raked his glorious body, lingering on his perfect, now hard, upstanding cock. He swept her into his arms. Locked his lips over hers and dropped onto the bed.
He quickly divested her of clothing and lowered his head to her already puckered nipples. She lifted her chest, she needed him closer. As Cody sucked and nipped, she let her hands roam over his back. She pinched at his ass. Juices flooded her pussy.
“Roll over,” he whispered as he lifted his body from her.
She rolled onto her belly and he pulled her onto her knees. Her chest remained on the be
d, her ass pointed toward the ceiling. He parted her legs with his knee, wrapped his arms under her hips and lifted her butt even higher. She clenched at the sheets, moaning with pleasure as his tongue began playing in her folds.
Her clit was swollen, excited, aroused. When he latched onto it with his lips, she almost flew off the bed.
Cody ached for Emma but he was determined to pleasure her first. She was drenched, her honey sweet juices flowed into his mouth as he teased and tormented her swollen clit.
Emma writhed, grasped at the bedhead and pushed herself hard against Cody’s mouth. Lightning flashed through her, every nerve ending was on high alert. Stars filled her vision as she rushed toward orgasm. She screamed as the tempest hit. Her body shuddered as juices poured from her. Spasms wracked her body as Cody suckled her clit like a nipple. He was keeping her airborne. She came down from the heights slowly, unaware of where she was for a moment, and collapsed on the bed.
Cody rolled Emma onto her back. Her eyes were glazed with satisfaction, the passion pushed into the background. He nibbled at her nipples, eliciting a groan, then nipped a trail up to her shoulder and the soft skin below her ear. “You make a lot of noise, my sweetheart. Zoe is going to have a field day with us tomorrow.”
Emma gazed into his eyes. “You know, I don’t fucking care. I feel too good to care.”
Cody laughed as he nibbled her neck. “Tell me that in the morning.”
“My turn.” Emma pushed at Cody’s chest encouraging him to roll onto his back.
She bounced to her knees and reached into the drawer of the table next to the bed. With one hand massaging his cock, she withdrew a container. Cody’s eyes were closed and he didn’t see the chocolate topping, he almost leapt off the bed when it flowed onto his dick.
“What the fuck?” He lifted his head and gazed down. Emma was grinning. A container of chocolate topping in one hand, the other hand spread the confection over his cock.
“I have a sweet tooth.” She placed the container on the side table and lowered her mouth to his chocolate covered rod. She moaned with pleasure as it slid into her mouth. She lapped and licked like a kitten with warm milk.
Cody couldn’t believe what she was doing to him. The scent of the chocolate, the thought of Emma literally eating him, started his cock pulsing. Blood pumped in his ears as she swallowed his length, drew it out to the tip and swallowed again. “Emma, I’m gonna come if you keep doing that.”
She lifted her head and stared at him. Chocolate surrounded her mouth and coated her chin. She was adorable. “That’s the idea.” She swooped back down onto him but this time she forced the tip of her tongue into his slit and it was all he could take. Cum spurted from his cock but she refused to release him from her mouth.
Fireworks consumed the room. Cody was convulsing. His body was on fire. She took him like he had never been taken and, despite him pulling at her hair, she refused to stop until he had been milked of every drop. By the time she sat up, he was physically and mentally exhausted.
“Emma, I swear you’re gonna fucking kill me.”
She laughed. “No way cowboy. There’s plenty more in you.” She straddled his hips slipping his semi hard cock into her pussy. Her hands rested on his shoulders and as she kissed him, her hips began lifting and gyrating.
Cody felt his cock rising to the occasion. He was stuffed but his rod hadn’t seemed to have received the memo. Emma’s tongue was exploring his mouth; her hands were all over his body. The girl was like an octopus. She was everywhere. And yeah, he was loving it.
This time when they flew, it was together. They sank onto the bed, arms and legs entwined. The room wrapped around them, cosy and warm. They slept until dawn.
Epilogue
Emma carried a tray full of steaks in one hand, a cold drink in the other and pushed the door to the back porch open with her foot.
“Cody, there are enough steaks here to feed the whole county.” She laughed as she handed the tray to him.
He had organised the last minute barbeque as a goodbye to summer. Caitlin and her brother Scott, Zoe, Dan, Gil, Eden and Spencer were all there. It was a beautiful day and Emma had never been so happy.
The steaks were forked onto the barbeque hotplate, the initial sizzles and pops as cold meat hit the hot grill, were deafening. Quickly, the noise settled.
Emma was standing, talking with Eden, when Cody approached her with a grin on his face.
“What are you up to?” Suspicion was written all over his face.
He cleared his throat and everyone turned to face them. “Can I please have everyone’s attention for a minute?” When their guests had ceased talking and faced him, he grasped her hand and dropped to one knee.
Emma felt like she was going to pass out. Did this mean what she thought it meant?
“Emma, it’s taken me a hell of a long time to realize how much you mean to me and how much I love you. My heart is about ready to bust out of my chest. I can’t think about anything else, I can’t focus on anything other than you.”
Gil and Spencer interrupted with “that’s for dang sure,” and everyone laughed. Cody glared at his men.
Emma wanted to pinch herself, it must be a dream. Was he going to ask her to be his wife?
“Getting back to what I was trying to say, ask actually. Emma, will you please marry me? I’m not asking, I’m begging. I can’t imagine my life without you in it.”
Cody scooped Emma into his arms before she hit the ground. Her glass dropped onto the wooden floor of the porch and shattered.
“Take her inside and lay her on the couch,” Eden instructed. Nurse mode kicked in and she followed them into the house.
Cody placed Emma on the couch in the living room and pushed a pillow under her head. Dropping to his knees he rubbed her hands and murmured words of love in her ear.
Eden had disappeared.
Emma was so pale. What the hell was wrong?
As Eden entered the room, Cody turned his worried expression toward her.
“I’m sure she’s fine. You gave the poor girl a shock.” Eden placed a cool towel across Emma’s forehead, lifted her wrist and assessed her pulse. She stirred. Her eyes locked with Cody’s and relief flooded his face.
“How do you feel?” Eden asked.
“Like an idiot. I don’t usually faint. I’m sorry.”
“I’ll leave you two alone and you can join us outside when you’re ready.” With a smile, Eden slipped from the room.
Cody lifted Emma into his arms and sat down on the couch with her on his lap. He ran his hand over her back.
“Yes.”
“Sorry?”
“Yes, I will marry you.”
He whooped before he turned her toward him and devoured her lips.
When they eventually drew apart, he reached into his pocket, withdrew a blue velvet box and placed it in Emma’s trembling hands.
She flipped the lid open. A magnificent ruby winked back at her. Surrounded by diamonds, it was encased in what appeared to be antique gold.
He lifted it from the box and carefully slid it onto her finger. She continued admiring it. “It’s gorgeous. It looks antique.”
“It was my Great-Grandmother’s. When mom died it was given to me with some of her belongings. My Grandmother’s and mom’s ring went to Zoe.”
“I love it.” She circled his neck with her arms and they exchanged a deep, sensuous kiss.
“Shall we go and tell the others?”
“They knew you were going to ask, didn’t they?”
“Yep. They talked me into having the barbeque so they could be here when I asked. I don’t think any of us expected you to faint though.”
“I was so shocked. All I ever wanted was your love. I can’t believe my dreams have finally come true. I can’t believe I am to have the pleasure of becoming your wife”
He chuckled as he hugged her close. “The pleasure is all mine, sweetheart.”
Shivers danced through her body as he whispered in
her ear.
“Come on before I take you upstairs and the barbeque is forgotten.” He placed Emma onto her feet and holding hands, they strolled back to their friends.
As they stepped through the door, inquisitive faces turned their way.
“Well?” Zoe asked.
Cody and Emma glanced at each other.
“I said yes!” Emma held up her hand to show off her ring.
Whoops, hollers, clinking glasses, hugs and kisses were all sent their way.
At last, Emma had what she had so desperately wanted – Cody’s love.
