Her Christmas Surprise Page 6

  “Excuse me, but Reed needs to take care of her, and I need to see my Rose,” Spencer said before he left the room.

  “Mom, Dad, I think the baby isn’t the only thing they’re hiding. When I saw Reed in Vegas, he had a wedding ring on. He claimed it was something he put on to deter women while he waited to make his move with Dani.”

  “You think they got married?” Richard asked his son.

  “I’m positive they did. He loves her, Dad. He said it to us right before we ran to get to Rose.”

  “Did he know about her being drugged?” Richard angrily asked. His trust was shaky after dealing with Mitch.

  “No. When he found out about the drugs, I saw pure rage on his face. He was ready to kill those bastards.”

  “Well good, then I won’t have to murder my son-in-law.”

  “All of you don’t say anything about it until they bring it up,” Rachel warned her sons and husband.

  Just then they watched as a fearful Reed ran toward them and Matt pointed to the bathroom down the hall. He nodded and went to find Danielle, making all the Kanes in the room smile.

  “Good boy,” Richard said with a nod toward Reed. “Now, come on, let’s go cook, woman. I’m hungry,” he growled naughtily at his wife and gave her a spank on her ass, grossing James and Matt out.

  ~~~~
  Reed could hear the retching before he got to the door. He was both worried and happy at the same time. He did his job in Vegas. When Spencer came in the room full of anger and told him that Danielle was throwing up, he rushed out of the room to take care of her. He got his wife pregnant. He hid his shit-eating grin when he entered the bathroom.
  Bending down, he started to rub her back. “Baby doll, are you okay?”
  “I’ll be just fine. You don’t need to be in here.”
  “The hell I don’t,” Reed growled. “Whether you like it or not, I’m your husband, and it’s my job to take care of my pregnant wife.”
  “It doesn’t gross you out?” He let out a lighthearted chuckle. She wasn’t pushing him away because she didn’t want him involved but because she was afraid he wouldn’t like her after seeing her puke her brains out.
  “Danielle, love. Vomit, in general, is gross, but you’re mine to care for. If you think I won’t find you sexy, you’re out of your mind. I’ll find you sexy at eighty.”
  “But not at eighty-one?” she teased as she looked up at him with making a goofy face. He loved that she could play with him. It gave him hope.
  “Nope, that’s pushing it,” he teased back.
  Danielle sat back on her heels before taking a deep breath and getting up on her feet. Reed assisted her, then got her a glass of water. “I guess that’s fair,” she smiled up at him after gargling with the water. Reed wanted to kiss her when she smiled at him, but she had just started rinsing with mouthwash. He’d get her, though.
  She fixed her blouse and looked at herself in the mirror, trying to tame her stray hairs that escaped her ponytail. He stood behind her and shook his head before pulling out the ponytail. She was about to snap on him, but he slid his hands into her hair and began to massage her scalp.
  “Reed, are you always this wonderful or is this the honeymoon phase?” she sighed with curiosity.
  “I want our honeymoon phase to last a lifetime. So I guess I’m always going to be this wonderful, but I’m sure you’ll have moments when you don’t think so.”
  “Oh, that I can be sure of,” she said with a half serious scowl.
  “Oh, you can be sure of that? Let me see how I can make myself wonderful again.” He lifted her up and pinned her to the bathroom door, wrapping her legs around his waist and taking her lips. Forgetting that they had others waiting for them, he rubbed his constant erection on her pussy. She moaned, causing Reed to remember that her family was in the other room. Adjusting themselves to look as normal as possible, they walked out of the bathroom, beaming after sharing that passionate kiss.
  Reed wanted her to let him tell the world that they were married, but he would wait until the time was right. Since they all knew the truth, Matt, James and her parents fooled no one when Danielle told them she was pregnant and he was the father. He caught dirty looks from her father all night and knew that it wasn’t all square with him yet, but Richard loved his family too much to ruin Christmas. Dinner went as smoothly—much better than he had expected. He joined the Kane men in their usual ritual of doing the dishes.
  “Mr. Kane, may I have a word with you?”
  “Look Reed, I don’t want to know how my daughter got pregnant, so let’s cut to the chase. Keep her happy and I’ll let you live. Hurt my little girl and I’ll forget how civilized I’ve become.”
  “I have loved her for over three months now. I’d never do anything to hurt her.” Reed wasn’t afraid to admit his feelings for her.
  “Good boy. So, I’d say you should marry my daughter, but I have a feeling I’m a little late on that.” Reed just nodded at his father-in-law. “Just so you know…my wife isn’t going to let you get away with that shoddy wedding. So be prepared.”
  He took the warning with a smile. He wanted their approval and seemed to have gotten it, even if it wasn’t an enthusiastic welcome to the family. Reed moved to help James dry the dishes and felt like part of the family.
  Before he left the room, he stopped Matt to talk privately. “Hey, Matt. How are you doing?”
  “I’m fine. Why?”
  Reed gave his brother-in-law a knowing look. “You know why. Just yesterday you wanted Rose, but today I see her with Spencer and their engaged.”
  “Tell me about it, it was a big blow, but I snoozed, it seems. They fell hard for each other. Well, you know his problem, with her it’s all better. I told him to keep her happy or I would,” Matt said with a shrug before he walked out of the kitchen.
  After dinner had been cleaned up, he took his wife home. They had a lot to talk about, and he needed to ease his aching cock. He worried about how all the excitement of today wore on her. “How are you feeling, baby doll?” Reed asked Danielle as they drove back to their place. He held her hand in his, kissing it before resting it on his thigh.
  “I’m fine. A bit full right now.”
  He glanced at her. “You’re going to be full all night.” Reed chuckled, giving her a smirk before turning his eyes back to the road.
  “How is it that manage to make a simple response dirty?”
  “Dani, I’m married to a sexy woman. Getting you naked is at the top of my list all of the time.”
  She blushed and needed to make conversation, so Danielle asked, “So do you live here all the time?”
  “I work all over so I travel a lot, but I have my main office in Boston.” He had plans to change that all for her. It was just a matter of what she cared to do. Becoming a mother was going to change her life and what she had planned. He hoped she was going to be happy just being a mother because he wasn’t going to let her work again. There was no need for money, and he didn’t like that she worked with men.
  “So where are we going to live?”
  “That’s really up to you. Your parents live in Boston, and I work there. It’s the best place for us to live. We can buy a new place and make it our own.”
  “I’d like that.”
  Seven
  “Dani, baby doll, yes. Oh shit. I love when…yes,” Reed called out as he stroked his cock to the image before him on their home surveillance cameras.
  “Reed, Reed…Yes, more, more…” Danielle panted. She was spread out on top of their large sofa, her hand between her thighs, stroking her clit while trying to hold the phone to her ear.
  “Dani, cum for me, my love. Do you want me to go faster or slow it down?” Reed pants on the other line hoping he can last until she does. It seemed that three days were too long for them to be apart.
  “I need it nice and slow, Reed. I want to feel your body all over mine, dominating me.
Oh Reed,” she sighed. Her orgasm on the cusp.
  “I love taking you slow and deep. Your pussy feels so good the way you squeeze me and your juices drench my cock. Fuck, Dani. I feel your nipples harden under my chest as I press my weight onto you. I need your titties, baby doll. I lick your left one first because I know how sensitive it is, baby, and the way your right thigh lifts every time I take your nipple into my mouth and suck.”
  “Reed, I’m cumming!”
  Her cries sent him over the edge with her. “Dani, I’m with you, love. Can you feel my cum coating your walls?”
  “I love you, Reed!” she shouted.
  “I love you too, baby doll,” he panted. He missed the hell out of her. Tomorrow he’d be home after working in Minnesota, and he’d be cumming in his wife instead of his hand.
  “Thank you.” He loved when she thanked him for no reason; he was the who should be thankful. She married him not only once but twice. Although the second wedding was much larger and they were both sober. His heart belonged to the lovely Danielle Landry, and he had won hers.
  “Danielle, I’m the one who’s thankful.”
  “Reed, you say that every time, but I love your need to please me, always making sure I cum before you do. I love the way you make me want more. I constantly lust after my sexy husband, who I miss like crazy.”
  “I love and lust after you every waking moment. You always make me want more. Now, get some sleep, and I’ll call you before I get on the plane,” Reed ordered his lovely wife.
  “Yes, sir.”
  “You’re learning, Danielle.”
  “Fuck off.”
  “I just did, and it was fucking amazing. When I get home, I going to fuck you—and it’ll be fucktastic.”
  ~~~~

  “Dani, yes, ride me, baby doll,” Reed groaned. “Bounce.”

  “Reed, I missed you. Ah!” Danielle cried out as Reed held her hips and started to pump up into her.

  She grabbed her breasts, squeezing them then tossing her head back, which made Reed roar, “Fuck, baby doll. I’m close.”

  “Cum, Reed. Cum. I want it!” She bent her head down and gripped his hair, pulling his face to hers. Reed took her cue and sucked her tongue into his mouth, kissing her deeply. They both sighed as he filled her up and she came on him.

  Once they had calmed down, Reed, still in his suit, looked at his wife and grinned. “Miss me, baby doll?”

  “Cocky, are we?”

  “I’m not complaining, wife. I love that you couldn’t wait for me to walk in the door to accost my body.”

  “I don’t like you gone that long.” She pouted at Reed. His heart was aching that she was lonely. They’d moved into his place in Boston until they found the house that they wanted. He’d been very busy since they returned from their little honeymoon. Every other day he was traveling. Yesterday was the first time they’d had phone sex and although it was nice, he wanted the real thing.

  “I’m sorry, Danielle. I’m done for the next month. We can dig deep into finding the perfect house for our little one and us.” Reed caressed her small belly. They still had plenty of time before the baby was born, but he wanted to make sure she didn’t do too much. Every time he left the apartment, he worried she was going to get sick.

  The morning sickness was almost gone, which eased his mind. She was his wife, and he needed to keep her happy; something he managed to fuck up on since Christmas. The look on her face when he worked so often broke his heart.

  “Baby doll, what do you feel like doing today?” Reed asked as he held her in his arms, hoping to make her feel as loved as she was.

  “Right now, I want to take a nap, then I’d really like to go and get some ice cream.” She snuggled into his arms.

  “Baby, it’s ten below and you want ice cream?!” He was shocked that she wanted cold shit. He had frozen his balls off the whole time in Minnesota. Going somewhere where it’s always cold during the height of winter wasn’t a smart move.

  “Is it ten below in here?” Her temper was heightened the past few weeks, but Reed understood it was the hormones.

  “No, it’s not. I’ll go and get you some right now. Why don’t you take a nap?” He smiled, gave her a kiss, then got off the sofa.

  “Okay,” she said groggily, cuddling in. Reed shook his head and slipped his arms under her body, carrying her into their bedroom. Kissing her forehead, he covered her with the blanket and headed out for ice cream.

  Danielle woke up from a refreshing nap, but she couldn’t find Reed. She wondered if she’d dreamed that he came home from his trip already, but the stickiness in between her thighs confirmed he had been home.

  She called his cell but didn’t get an answer. It was two hours later and he still wasn’t back. Freaking out she called the police, then Spencer, but no one could tell her where he was. Getting dressed, she left the apartment and went to look for her husband herself.

  She’d gone two blocks down when she got the shock of her life. Reed’s truck was parked on the sidewalk and smashed into a pole. The tow truck was already getting in position to take it. Tears poured down her face. She ran up to the truck, calling out his name, but, of course, he wasn’t there.

  When the store owner near where Reed’s truck had crashed saw her, he came out to check on the frantic woman.

  “Miss, do you know the man who drove this truck?” he asked her.

  “Where is he?” Her eyes were already filled with tears that iced up with the cold wind.

  He reached for her hand, held it, and said, “I’m sorry, ma’am, but the driver was killed on impact.” Danielle dropped to her knees; her heart was broken.

  “No! He can’t leave me,” she sobbed before she passed out on the sidewalk.

  Danielle woke up three hours later in a hospital bed. “Mrs. Landry, you’ve rejoined us.”

  “I don’t want to live. Reed’s gone.” Tossing her head back on the mattress, she let out a sobbing wail.

  ~~~~
  Reed walked out of their apartment on a mission to get his baby doll some ice cream. It hit him that she hadn’t said what kind of ice cream she wanted. Not wanting to bother her, he decided he’d give Spencer a call.
  “What’s up, bro?” Spencer said with concern.
  “I wanted to get your sister ice cream, and shit if I got a clue to what kind she likes.”
  He chuckled. “No problem. She likes several kinds, but her favorite is cookie dough, but since she’s prego, I don’t think it’s good for her to have raw shit. Dani also likes a banana split or butter pecan.”
  “Thanks, man. You’re a lifesaver.”
  “How many times have I hit you up this past month when it came to Rose?” They’d been getting tips and details about their women from each other because they both spent their time working and fucking, leaving very little time for talking.
  “More than I can count.”
  “Well then, be safe out there and don’t worry. She worships you. I think she’d eat plain vanilla if you got it for her.”
  “Bullshit, but nice try. Catch you later.”
  “Bye.”
  He stepped out onto the sidewalk and made his way to his truck down the street. That was one thing they were going to get—a house with a garage. His place was awesome, but he had to find parking all the time and that could be a real bitch, especially in the winter.
  He was just passing a small alley when he was struck from behind. The last thing he’d seen before he hit the ground was his uncle’s eyes. “That’s what happens for choosing pussy over family. Your father didn’t learn and it seems neither will you.”
  Being jostled around woke him up while a big bastard who had at least a hundred pounds on him dumped Reed into the backseat of his truck. The big guy jumped in the front seat while his uncle walked around to the driver side window.
  Thinking he was still asleep, his uncle explained the plan to the overgrown ape. “I’m
driving up to the meeting place. I want you to tie him up when you get there so I can put a bullet in the fuck. Then we come after his wife.”
  “Understood,” the gorilla said. He started to drive off as Reed quietly sat up. It was now or never for him to act. They were approaching the intersection before they got to the expressway. Getting safely out this mess was going to be hard.
  The fat bastard couldn’t really move comfortably and didn’t fix Reed’s rearview mirror, giving Reed his moment to strike.
  Reaching around the huge man, he gripped the steering wheel and turned, causing the vehicle lose control and spin all the way on the opposite side of the road. Thankfully, they’d missed any other cars or people, but the driver side front end hit the massive street light pole throwing the bastard through the front window. The moment Reed let go of the wheel, he braced himself for impact against the backseat.
  After getting his bearings again, he sat up with only a gash to his head from broken glass. There was a crowd now, outside on the street, but most stayed back because Reed couldn’t be seen from the back so it looked like his kidnapper was the only one in the car.
  As he crawled out of the damaged vehicle, a squad car and an ambulance approached.
  “Oh my, there was another guy in the back,” a bystander shouted out, running to Reed.
  “Sir, are you alright,” the man said as he grasped his arm, helping him stand up.
  “Yeah, I think so,” he muttered. The medics looked at the body on the ground and tried to resuscitate the man with no luck. The police came to Reed.
  “Sir, you’re bleeding,” someone said to him, but he was too focused on Danielle to care.
  “I need to get to my wife. I need to keep her safe,” he mumbled.
  “Sir, what do you mean safe?”
  “I was just kidnapped by that guy over there and my uncle.” He staggered and pointed at the man on the ground surrounded by the paramedics.
  “We need a medic over here!” one of the officers shouted.
  “Where’s your uncle?” he asked a dazed Reed.
  “I don’t know. They were going to take me to a place to kill me then go after my Danielle.”
