“Who is she?” Gage asked while he texted on his phone.
“I don’t know. She is blood kin to him, though, and Dylan and Raeff will know she is theirs when they see her.”
“There is no hope for the agent?”
Brandy shook her head with a sad frown. “His time on this earth is coming to an end, and nothing can change that. The girl doesn’t have to die, as well, though.”
Avery’s heart ached knowing that someone was about to lose someone she loved and there was nothing they could do.
Brandy smiled. “That is why Sam chased you. I saw you were his true fated mate.”
“I’m glad you saw that. If not, then I’d still be alone and miserable. I don’t think Rylee would have gotten much better either.”
Gage pulled her into his lap and gripped her hair to guide her lips to his. He brushed his lips against hers gently at first, and then with a growl, he took possession of her mouth.
Brandy cleared her throat. “And with that, I think I will tell Grandma and Grandpa Rylee needs more ice cream.”
They chuckled as Brandy walked out to find Rylee, and Gage resumed his kissing.
When he pulled his head away, Avery whispered, “It was a good birthday today. The best one Rylee ever had.”
“We’re taking Rylee out while you three work on more grandchildren for us,” Evelyn called out as they all left, leaving them alone in the house.
Avery groaned and hid her face as Brandy and Alred laughed while they made their way out the door.
Sam growled once he heard the car doors and engines start up. “We’ve only just begun our lives together,” Sam whispered as his hand found its way into her shirt and bra, and he plucked at her nipple. “We have so much more ahead of us.”
“Yeah?” she asked breathlessly.
“Of course,” he replied as his other hand worked its way into her pants and her sweet wet cunt. “More children, many more birthdays and, of course, Christmases.”
“Mmm,” Avery said, losing her train of thought as they brought the heat in her body to a fever pitch. She could see her happily ever after playing out as her hips rocked in her Alphas’ embrace.
