“I was really worried about you, and you kinda blew our plan yesterday. Where were you all day?”
“I’m not sure I understand the issue, honey. How do you like your eggs?” she said in a cheerful voice he hadn’t heard from her.
“I don’t want any eggs!” Noah screamed. “I want to know what’s going on with you. What’s with this haircut and these clothes? Please tell me you weren’t out all day and all night, just getting this stuff for disguises.”
“I really don’t know what you mean. Why would we need disguises?” Jenna asked innocently.
“Stop it, Jenna. You’re really freaking me out.”
She turned to face him, but Noah felt like he was staring into the eyes of a stranger. Her expression remained the same, cold and emotionless.
“Please, call me Judy.”
