“This is good,” Riley insisted, which almost made me angry.
“How could this possibly be good?”
Riley looked at me sympathetically, while I watched her try to figure out a cautious, sensitive way for her to explain her point.
“Okay, so you know that I would totally kick Collin’s ass if you asked me to, right?” Riley eventually answered.
“Yes, I do think that you would be able to do that for me,” I replied, almost as cautiously, but not nearly with as much sensitivity in my voice.
“So, with that being said, I want to tell you that I don’t think Collin is completely at fault.”
I didn’t respond, because I wanted to hear her out.
“I think that maybe, he isn’t so off base. Maybe there is some legitimacy to his way of thinking. I mean, you were acting a little strange.”
“How do you figure?” I insisted. “I don’t think it’s fair that he automatically thought I was cheating on him, because I started to act weird.”
“No, of course it’s not fair, but you’re being a little bit hard on him. I mean, you said that you guys had a great night together, and all you did was cook dinner?”
I nodded, “Sure It was one of the best nights I’ve had with him in a while. I’m not denying that.”
“Well, maybe what you need to make your relationship work is to make love like that. You need to do something fun. Make it spontaneous. Sex isn’t supposed to be a scheduled meeting, it’s supposed to be fun and random.”
“Again, I don’t know how you fit fun and random into your busy schedule, but I promise you, it isn’t exactly an easy task for me and Collin. The only time we have fun and random, is if we schedule it, and to be honest, it’s usually scheduled weeks in advance and something, if not work, sleep, usually, will get penciled in over it.”
“That right there is a major problem for the two of you. You need to have this time to continue getting to know your husband.”
“I think I know him pretty well by now,” I replied.
“People change, they grow up. They learn new things. Just because you sleep next to someone for years, doesn’t mean that you know them. You still have to try to be a friend, lover, partner, whatever the situation calls for. You and Collin treat your relationship, your marriage like it’s another business meeting.”
I scoffed at her, “I don’t know what kind of business meetings you’ve been to, but I’ve never given anyone I worked with head. Do I look like a whore? Is that it?”
“No!” Riley insisted, “That’s not what I mean. It’s not what you do, it’s how you do it.”
“You keep telling yourself that,” I chuckled, trying to lighten the mood, considering I wasn’t at all comfortable with the conversation I was having with Riley. We weren’t business partners, we were married.
Christ! The only two people on the planet I don’t keep at arms’ length and apparently, I can’t even do that right! I thought with aggravation. I must have rolled my eyes because I saw that Riley was narrowing her gaze at me.
“Oh, sure, go ahead and laugh. Make jokes, that’s real mature. You came over here for help and I’m trying my best to give you free therapy.”
“Come on, Riley,” I insisted, trying to make her understand why I was acting this way. “It’s a pride thing. I have to be able to laugh about it, because if I can’t, I’m screwed.
“You’re not screwed…” She replied, “You just need to realize that when you do something, you have to do it because you want to, not because you think it’s your wifely obligation.”
“I don’t! Especially not the other day,” I retorted, looking away from her as the still-raw essence of shame flowed through my cheeks.
Riley sighed, “I know and with that, I’m right there with you. Instead of having the balls to confront you right then and there, he ran away and that sucks. That’s something you need to work on because you can’t be new and different if you’re afraid of how he’s going to react every time you try to be different.”
I nodded, “Yeah, that’s my point. Am I supposed to take a damn lie detector test every time I come home, so he knows that I’m not cheating on him.”
“No,” she replied in an easy voice. You know that you’re not supposed to have to do anything like that. I think he trusts you. I just believe that you guys both lost sight of one another. I think you’re both just stuck going through the motions. So, when you started to be unhappy with your bedroom antics, Collin started putting the late nights and warning signs together. If the roles were reversed, honestly, what would you think?”
“I wouldn’t automatically think he’s cheating,” I hissed, but Riley’s expression made me reevaluate my answer. “I mean, I don’t think I would. I definitely wouldn’t let it go on for as long as it did.”
“Flora, that’s the obvious answer to all his questions,” Riley insisted.
“Sure, maybe it is, but he should’ve trusted me! It isn’t fair that he didn’t trust me,” I insisted, purposefully stopping to give Riley a chance to agree with me.
However, instead of an absolute agreement, like I expected, silence ensued. I returned a strange stare of disbelief. Yet, before I could gather the question in my mind fluidly enough to ask her about it, she shook her head and responded, “Really, how can either of you trust someone you don’t know?”
My first reaction was indignance, but before I completed what I was about to say, I stopped, and thought about what she was telling me.
For the first time, I allowed my guard down enough to admit that she was right.
I hated the realization, but Riley definitely had something there.
“I guess, we’ve just been so busy for so long that it’s hard to settle down. It’s hard to try to make anything work between us. If I see Collin at all, usually, it’s at night and we are both exhausted. I tried to make an effort, but I guess I should’ve talked to him first, instead of just pouncing on him?”
“Yeah,” she nodded, “I guess that was my bad, though. I was the one who told you to show him who he married, but I was only trying to help.”
“No, Riley, I know. You were only trying to give the advice that you knew would work for you and your husband,” I reacted, deep in thought as I contemplated what my next move should be; even though it was now a matter of getting my courage up to actually do it, than trying to figure out what needed to be done. “And…You were right, about most things. I did enjoy taking control. It might’ve just been a little too much, too soon.”
I felt my shoulders rise and lower, as I figured I should get this over with, as soon as possible. When my eyes connected with Riley’s, I smiled.
“Thanks,” I replied, “You’re always able to help me figure out what to do.”
“I don’t know if I’m the best advisor, but we’re always I this together,” she answered, hugging me as I stood up. “Everything is going to be okay, Flora,” she added when we broke apart. “Collin loves you and the only reason he was so upset by the possibility that you might be cheating on him was because he doesn’t want to lose you. I know that.” Her serious expression cracked a grin as she continued, “So, punish him as you will, but try not to be too hard on the man.”
I shook my head in agreement before hurriedly getting to my car.
For some reason, I felt that I needed to hurry, or else I would risk losing the passion behind my current thought process.
When I walked in the door, Collin seemed surprised, yet happy to see me.
“Hi, Sweetie,” Collin called from the kitchen.
“Hi, Collin,” I replied, going up to him and hugging him, before pressing my lips hard against his mouth.
He held me tightly, but pulled back with a sense of wonderment as he asked, “What’s going on? Why are you acting like that?”
“Like what?” I asked.
“I thought, you needed some time,” he responded, though his voice wasn’t the least bit sarcastic, or condescending. He seemed to be earnestly
asking me what was going on between us.
That, I found not only to be improvement, but also extremely encouraging.
“Listen, can we talk?” I asked, directing him back to the bedroom.
“Of course,” he replied, following me, with a renewed eagerness about him.
“So, I was talking to Riley, and I think I know what’s going on,” I told him when we reached the bedroom. “First of all, I’m sorry. I should’ve tried to see everything from your perspective a little bit better,” I replied. “I know you never meant to hurt me and I never meant to hurt you.”
“Thank you,” Collin answered, sounding contrite.
“Riley pointed out a few things, that I didn’t think about, which gave you merit for thinking the way you were, about us and about everything else that was happening. After I got my head out of my ass, well, after Riley told me how much of an ass I was being, I realized that the way you came to your conclusion was logical and while, you were wrong, it wasn’t fair of me to react like that. Instead, I should’ve told you what was really going on.”
“Okay,” Collin replied cautiously, sitting down on the edge of the bed, “So, tell me. Please, what’s really going on?”
I turned toward him and almost lost my nerve. It was so hard to tell the man I loved that the way he enjoyed sex wasn’t working for me. I knew it would be difficult, which was why I had avoided it at all costs. However, now that I was facing him, needing to tell him my concerns, I realized how completely inaccurately I was able to foresee the horror of this moment.
“Um, well, you know how I’ve been trying to take the lead…and do some different things together?”
“Like when you attacked me on the couch?”
“Yeah,” I giggled, trying to keep the moment light, but still not completely unsure of whether this was going to be a terrible conversation or if I was going to feel the burden of relief lift off me soon.
While I hoped for the latter, I was horrified at the prospect that this would end badly. After all, this was his pride and his manliness that I was potentially calling into question, depending on how he took it.
“Well, guess you’ve noticed that I’ve also been taking the lead, during sex?” I insisted, trying to set the stage, but ended up simply sounding stupid. “Of course, you have…If you hadn’t…Never mind.” I stopped talking and drew in a deep breath.
“Flora, just say whatever it is you have to say,” his shoulders rose and fell within the span of his pause. “I’m a grown man. I can take it.”
“Okay,” I answered, trying not to be so blatant about biting my nervous bottom lip. “I like to switch it up. I don’t mind if you’re dominant sometimes, but we have had the exact same sex, for bedim, for the last ten years. Every time we ever try to do anything new or different, we almost get there, and then you default back to your regular, normal way and honestly, it’s getting old. I want some spice, some fresh passion…Riley says she thinks that we’re just going through the motions…”
“Flora, I love you,” Collin insisted, grabbing my hand and pulling me toward him.
“I love you too, but what I mean is, we’re just doing it because it’s what we’re supposed to do, but there’s no…adventure in it anymore. No spark.”
Collin, still seeming perfectly calm, grinned wirily and looked up at me, “I know what you mean. I know you love me and I know that what you’re saying has nothing to do with whether you love me. It has everything to do with how we can fix this.”
I stared back at him for a long moment, taking in his face, his posture and anything else that would clue me into an emotion or reaction that went beyond what I could obviously see, but there was nothing.
“You’re…taking this really well,” I beamed, listening to Collin chuckle.
“Did you expect me to, what? Freak out?” He asked, “I’m not that bad, am I?”
“No, no. It’s not that. It’s just that, this is kind of a big deal and I didn’t want you to feel like you’re not good enough for me, or anything like that, because you’re the only man I want in my life. You’re the only person that I would ever want to be with, it’s just…how we’re together. Maybe, we could, switch it up a little?”
“Flora, I want you to be happy. I want you to be satisfied and the only really frustrating part, was that you didn’t tell me, so I didn’t know what was wrong.”
“So, you’re not mad about me wanting to show some dominance?” I asked, sheepishly, considering the words I was saying.
Instantly, Collin shook his head, “No, Flora. I mean, was it kinda weird, considering I’m the guy and you’re telling me what to do? Sure. It was kind of odd, but again, if you would’ve just talked to me about it, I would’ve at least had an answer to why you were acting so weird…”
I laughed, “Things did get blown a little out of proportion, huh?”
“You think?” He rolled his eyes in a playful manner, but when he spoke again, his voice was far more serious. “God, I was so worried that I was going to lose you, Flora.” As he spoke, he tugged me toward him and I sat on his leg, “I thought that I had done something, or that you had just woken up and realized how much more you deserve than what I could ever give you.”
“Collin, that’s not true,” I assured, tenderly running my fingers through his hair. “You are the only person who I have ever or will ever want. You complete me and just because we are going through a little bit of a rough patch doesn’t make that any less true.”
Collin grinned and turned his head, moving in for a kiss. I allowed the kiss, but instantly pulled him toward me and deepened the kiss. I breathed in the taste of him, instantly feeling my loins quiver at the thought of him delving inside of me.
Allowing my body to take over, I turned, until I was on top of him. My legs straddled Collin, facing him. I ground myself against his pelvis, heating up the small space between us, while my hands slid down his chiseled chest, teasing the V that lead to his already erect manhood.
“Are you planning on threatening me this time?” Collin teased with an arched eyebrow.
“That depends, are you going to let me do what I want to you?” As I spoke, in a low, playfully demanding tone, I drug my nails down the front of him, just enough so that he was sure I was using this action to prove a point.
I watched a simper grow over his face as both his eyebrows raised.
Sitting up, he got right in my face, allowing me to feel the intensity of his glower.
“What are you going to do to stop me?” He growled.
Tilting my head to the side, I drew in close to his lips, but stopped, just before kissing him. As I spoke, our breath collided and there was a random, tension-filled brush inherent through some of my words, but when he drew closer, I pushed him back, this time, with some amount of force.
“I will do whatever is necessary to make you listen to me. I alone know what you want and I’m going to give it to you, when I’m good and ready.”
Leaning over him again, I grabbed his hand and pressed it to my breast, while I rocked back and forth over his manhood.
Slinking down his body, I peeled his pants back, to reveal the true essence of his manhood. Grinned as I ducked down, taking it into my mouth.
Slowly, methodically, I eased myself up down, feeling his penetrating member pulse with excitement every time I took it deeper into my mouth.
Collin groaned, grasping the sheets, as he had made me do countless times before.
Whenever he would thrust his leg up, in a writhe of pleasure that amounted to more than he expected, I would shove it back down, keeping complete and utter control.
I continued to massage him with my mouth. As I coursed up and down, I heard him quiver and felt his member grow to full as it swelled with excitement.
“Oh…Yes…Yes, Flora…” Collin groaned, as his midsection thrust toward me, helping to keep up the pace that was providing him with so much joy.
When I felt that he was near eruption, I mounted him again but this tim
e, I slid him carefully into my bodice. I closed my eyes so that I could feel every moment of his entrance.
I reveled in the feel of my body accepting him. I moaned and shifted until he was secure, before easing back, and thrusting him inside me deeper.
After only repeating this motion a few times, I felt a familiar tingle as my body responded to his in a moist, overbearing amount of exuberance.
I grasped his hands and pressed them to my breasts, which were needing his touch.
The already hardening, tender nipples shot a thrust of excitement through me when I felt the warmth of his hand put pressure against my breast.
“Yes,” I called out to him, as I quickened the pace of our tempo, practically standing over him as I used my whole body to receive the depth and intensity of the feeling I was after.
Encouraged by my sentiment, he continued to knead my breasts with a tender, yet intense motion.
His touch gave me an enthralling chill that ran up and down my spine with a consistent and intensifying fervor.
After a few more thrusts and tugs, Collin exhaled harshly and when he did, I felt him expel his love into me, blasting with a force that my body reacted excitedly to.
For, a moment after he climaxed, I felt my own orgasm cresting.
When I had thrust Collin into me deep enough to command the enthralling sensation, I stopped, clasping his shoulders hard and pulling him even deeper inside of me.
The cataclysmic eruption of emotion almost felt as though I was jutted out of my body and was brought into another universe.
I moaned as my soul rumbled in reaction to the feelings that were washing through it. My breath was lost and everything about the moment was encased in an epic aurora borealis of feelings and sensations.
I never wanted this feeling to end; it was better than anything I had ever felt before.
Chapter 26: Collin
After making love and having the conversation with Flora, I was better about the idea that my wife enjoyed being dominant. After all, it was a prominent personality trait of hers in every other aspect of her life, so now that I was aware of it, it did make sense that it was also present in the bedroom
