Lloyd shook hands with his son, telling him he was proud to be the father of such a fine young man. Estelle had tears in her eyes as she stepped between the two most important men in her life and put her arms around them.

“I just came out to tell you supper was nearly ready. I am so glad I was here to see you both like this. It’s what I have always wanted. If going through such a bad time has resulted in you two being closer, then it was worth it.”

The three of them stood for a while watching the sun go down over their vineyard. In the distance, standing at the door of his new home, Tuck saw his friend, Kaden, shake hands with his father, making their peace.

“If I held out a hand to my old man, I would end up with my head down the toilet,” he said to himself and smiled.

He had grown up to be a lot bigger than his father and knew such things would never again happen. Tuck felt safe as he watched the sun drop below the horizon in a flaming red sky.
