Glitch Hunter
Page 38
Alignment: Red
Shriekers are a fusion of bird and woman that are intelligent and capable of limited human speech. While practicing asexual reproduction, their human halves do long for human company and they often abduct men and women for that purpose keeping them in their nests. If the human is polite and flattering there are recorded instances where they have been kept for years. If rude they are usually disemboweled and eaten. As with most creatures of red alignment they are powerful offensively with dissonant talons and a screech that is particularly harmful to Glitch Hunters given their enhanced hearing.
Vulnerabilities: The feathers of their bird halves are resistant to stabbing and piercing weapons although the human torso and head have no such resistance. Fire and frost attacks aimed at the wings are particularly effective for bringing them to earth.
Sight Hounds
Alignment: Purple
Sight Hounds are a magical construct that are commonly found in the labs of mages. They are designed to be able to detect both the flow of quintessence and to see through illusions. In this way they can often aid a mage at identifying threats before they are obvious. While their use is not primarily defensive this is a secondary application and they are formidable against mundane weaponry.
Vulnerabilities: Sight Hounds are vulnerable to Harmonized Steel, Magic, and Blunt damage. They are highly resistant to slashing and piercing attacks.
Trihorn
Alignment: Brown
Trihorns are rarely encountered as they tend to dwell in only the most hospitable of environments. They are incredibly durable and for the most part passive, although when riled to action charge their foes in an effort to impale them upon the horns from which they get their name.
Vulnerabilities: Like most creatures spawned of brown quintessence Trihorns have few innate vulnerabilities. They are resistant to all mundane weapons and even harmonized steel has a difficult time penetrating the thick armored plates of their hide. They are best avoided or contained.
Webghast
Alignment: Green/Black
Webghasts have the appearance of giant spiders. The tips of their legs are incredibly sharp and they are capable of numerous debilitating effects. They can shoot webs that are paralytic in effect and a venom that can give such intense nightmares it often kills the infected. Their favored tactic is to capture prey and to let them to starve several days to weaken their systems before filling them with venom. Those that die in such intense terror as food for the Webghasts spawn that feed on the remnants of the fear to grow.
Vulnerabilities: Harmonized Steel, Acid. Webghasts have a tough exoskeleton that makes them extremely resistant to mundane weapons
