Rozalyn 2: Vengeance of the Heart (Rozalyn Series)

"Huh....but Danesha said...and you..."
"Your sister is a lying conniving bitch! Yea, I thought she was mine until I found out who Diamond really was! We don't have time to talk about this shit right now. Let's go."
"Go where? Tae, she's my niece..."
"I said we don't have time to talk about it right now. Let's go!"
Within a few minutes we all were in the car and pulling out of my drive way. My moms lived about 20 minutes from me; I wasn't sure where I would take them all but it had to be somewhere no one would even think to look. Soon as I got them settled and out of harm's way I would be back to handle Rico and his people.

Vengeance is Mine
A few months later
With my family safely tucked away out of the states I've been able to handle everything in the streets without worrying about any repercussions being taken out on the wrong people.
Unfortunately I wasn't able to get my hands on Brandon. Detective Bradley informed me the minute I landed back into Miami that Brandon was in custody for the murder of Brittany. Apparently the same day I had the meet with Rico he'd made several calls to Rozalyn. Rozalyn contacted the MPD and gave them the phone number he'd contacted her from; they were able to track it to a motel not far from my house. I wasn't too happy hearing that I wouldn't be able to give him the street justice he'd deserved. I wanted to put two holes in his head the way he'd done Keylan. I could easily have him knocked off in prison but it wouldn't make me feel better unless I could body that muthafucka’ myself.
My problems with Rico were easily solved, both his father and Dmitri's father were able to put two and two together once local Narcotics detective Montrell Lewis aka Money was reported missing by his worried grandmother. Once his picture flashed across the TV screen they all knew that Dmitri and I had nothing to do with it. And me having to worry about the Feds was no longer an issue; they got the tip at the last minute and weren’t able to set up surveillance to see who was all present that day at the barn. Long as nobody got to snitching I was good.
I believed Money when he told me that he hadn't given the police any info he had on me but he still had to go. The fact that he'd seen so much made him a threat to me; yea he may have held onto everything that could’ve had me sent to prison for a very long time but who knows when he would let all that info go. Killing him was a must.
"Is it really this easy to pretend to be a business man knowing you're really a crooked ass criminal?" I asked my pops as he entered his Jaguar. "What did you think that because you moved your firm to a different location that I wouldn't find you?"
"Tae, son. What's going on man?" he laughed nervously.
"Tired is all. Haven't really slept much in the past few months. Been looking for you and Von all day every day," I sighed.
"Looking for us...why....why have you been looking for us?" Tahj looked around hoping to see someone that could save his ass.
"Don't act like you don't know why! You have been making my life miserable since I have been born and nigga I’m just fuckin’ sick of you!"
"Tae, you started all of this! All of this is your fuckin’ fault son!"
"Why because I'm the only child you have that was willing to cut your grimy ass out? I wasn't willing to sit around and allow you to treat us like slaves while you lived like a fuckin’ king! I did what I did because my brothers and I deserved a good fuckin’ life for all the hard work we were putting in! Too bad Tavon and Roderick were too dumb to see how you were playing us."
"I wasn't playing nobody. I was doing the same damn thing you doing today! Taking care of my damn family and surviving!"
"Yea you taking care of your white little family, raising your fuckin’ white daughter and acting like my damn sister don't exist."
"Now whether Taylana is mine is questionable! She is too dark to be my child," Tahj slammed his hands on the steering wheel obviously frustrated. He began to sweat and his voice was starting to tremble.
"Too dark like me right? You know damn well Taylana is yours just like you know I’m your damn son! My mama is dark-skinned! What the hell is wrong with you?"
"Yea but Taron and Tavon came out my color so why the two of you didn't? Your mama was hoing..."
BLAM!
I struck him in the back of the head before he could even finish his sentence. Disrespecting my moms was out of line and I wasn't having it. He knows my moms would have never gone outside of her marriage; hell the way he beat her ass every damn day had her too scared to even leave the damn house.
"A’ight, a’ight. I'll spend more time with Taylana." Tahj said rubbing the already forming knot.
I laughed, "Now you know you not getting out this car alive right? I actually planned to blow your brains out the moment you got in but then it wouldn't be fair to me. You wouldn't know that I was the one responsible for sending you to hell."
"Tae, look can we just talk about this. My wife and daughter are expecting to me come home. I've already been away from them for too long," Tahj huffed.
"Yea I know you were too busy trying to make my life miserable. But your wife and daughter will be fine; I've already talked to the wife Tanya and she knows not to expect you tonight or any other night. "
"You think that once they find my body my wife won't tell them that you did it," he said
"Nope, after showing me her black eye she told me that she's been wanting to get away from you for years. So nah I doubt that she will."
"You mutha..."
PFFT! PFFT!
Two silenced bullets in the side of my pops jaw ended it all. I didn't feel good about ending his life like I thought I would. That instant I was able to understand how Rozalyn was still able to hurt behind her moms. After all the bad he'd done to me I still felt a bit of pain knowing that I just ended the man's life that was responsible for bringing me into this world.
I pushed my pops heavy body over to the passenger seat, jumped into the driver's seat and cranked the Jag up. The windows of his ride was darkly tinted and with the nightfall it was easy for me to slip out of the parking garage unnoticed.
I drove miles outside of Dallas to meet Taron in Lil’ Elm, Texas. He'd promised me that he would handle Tavon while I handled our pops so I was really hoping that he went through with it as planned.
I pulled the Jag up next to Taron's charger and jumped out of the vehicle. I walked towards the charger and was surprised to see Kevin get out of the driver's side.
"What the hell are you doing here?" I asked looking around.
"Ron, couldn't do it. He told me ya'll plans at the last minute and being I fucked up the last time I figured it would be a good time for me to make up for it." Kevin said. He passed me the blunt he was toking on then pressed the button to pop the trunk.
"Where is Ron?"
"He stayed with Kayla and the baby. He didn't want no parts of it. Said it would be too much on his heart."
"Mmgh," I looked at Kevin suspiciously before walking over to the trunk. Damn, Tavon was definitely dead a’ight. "And you did this?" I asked curiously. There was a small hole in the center of his head and a few bullet holes in his chest.
I kind of found it hard to believe that Kevin was even capable of committing murder. He was given the opportunity once before, talked a lot of shit, and made nothing of it. Now here he was acting like killing someone was the easiest thing in the world to do.
"Man just come on before somebody start to wonder why we over here."
"Nigga, ain't nobody around here. That's why I picked this spot. Did you do this yourself or not?"
"Yes, I almost walked away again but once he laughed in my face about killing Zavier and raping Roz he made it a lot easier to pull the trigger. I'm not a killer and nor have I ever proclaimed to be but it felt good knowing I took care of the person responsible for hurting my family," Kevin said. He grabbed two gasoline cans from the backseat of the charger and handed one to me.
No more words were spoken between Kevin and
I; we soaked both the inside and outside of the Jag and Charger with gasoline then set them to flames. Kevin jumped into a tan Honda Civic that was brought here the day before and drove off. I stuck around waiting and making sure both vehicles burned completely.
Unbelievably tears fell down my face; felt bad for being mad at Keylan for not handling Tavon when he had the chance to do so. Murking my pops was a heavy burden I would more than likely carry in my heart for a long time. I guess Keylan and Taron knew that which is why they didn’t want to be the ones that pulled the trigger that would end it all.
I jumped in the whip that had been waiting for me and drove back towards Dallas to DFW airport. It was now time for me to start my vacation along with the rest of my fam.

My happy Ending?
Vacationing on the islands of Puerto Rico had been very therapeutic. What was supposed to be a 2-3 week getaway had become home for the last six months. In my eighteen years of living I finally felt true happiness. I knew what it was like to be loved; not just by my husband but by his family as well. Cheryl had become the mother that I'd always wanted and Taylana had replaced Danesha in so many ways.
Normalcy for me was constant drama, shots ringing out from guns, rape, and beatings. It was fighting and crying and betrayal; it was the kind of normal I knew and had grown to get used to.
Before coming to Puerto Rico, I had accepted my normal as my destiny and what God had planned for my life. I never once thought that life would be as grand as it is now.
Tamar just joined us 3 months ago and thankfully he came when he did. They ended up having to do an emergency c-section to take the twins when I was just 8 months along with them. 2 damn boys Zyir and Zavier, it seemed that I would never get my princess. I guess little Shanya was the only somebody I would have that I could play dress up with.
Tamar tried to have Taron take Shanya back to the states when he came down a few months ago but I stood my ground. Regardless if Tamar was her father or not; I was her aunt and she was staying with me.
It took a couple of months for Tamar to come around but once he got used to her; you couldn't tell him nothing about her. She was spoiled rotten and it was all because of him.
Kayla and Kevin were the happy parents of little Kevin Jr; he was so cute and reminded me of a mini sumo wrestler. He looked more Chinese than anything having the same eyes as his daddy, aunt and uncle.
Latoya gave birth only a couple weeks after Kayla; she had a baby girl and named her Keymani. Kevin and Kayla were so happy even when the DNA test came back stating that Kevin was not the father. The sad thing is, after having DNA samples pulled from Keylan's body, it came back that he wasn't the father either.
That was a mystery in its self. No one has heard from her ass either. Brian told me she moved back to Atlanta with her mom but he hasn’t seen her because he recently moved to Miami with Starr and is helping her run the beauty shop she recently opened.
My relationship with Starr was still on the rocks; we talked every now and then on the phone but it was still evident that she blamed me for Keylan's death and her unfortunate miscarriage she suffered when she was four months pregnant.
"What you doing out here?" Tamar asked walking up behind me.
"It's so pretty out here. I'm not ready to leave," I whined.
"We already talked about this. Our Visa expires next week and I'm not trying to go through that process again." Tamar said. He kissed me lightly along the neck and wrapped his arms around my waist.
"You worried about going back, huh?"
"A little bit. Everything has been so calm out here."
"Everything will be calm when we get back too. Baby I'm out the game; I'll be around more so you don't have nothing to worry about. I promise you that."
"Okay but if shit start getting crazy again I'm moving to Puerto Rico permanently," I laughed.
Tamar kissed me on the cheek before returning back in the house. He began to load all of our belongings in the shuttle that would take us to the islands airport.
Returning back to Miami was not something that I wanted to do just yet. I had hopes that we could permanently move here and raise our children here. I was slowly picking up Spanish and would be able to teach it to my children soon. Tamar wasn’t trying to do that claiming that he had business to get back to in Miami; he wasn’t supposed to be selling dope anymore so I wasn’t sure what the business was pertaining to.
***
“What’s that?” I asked Tamar who was sitting at the edge of the bed going through a stack of mail. He ignored my question and continued to read through whatever had taken his attention away from me.
We’d arrived in Miami a few hours ago and took no time climbing into bed to get over the long, tiring plane ride. Cheryl came over to the house with us to help me get the twins situated as well as Tamarion and Shanya. While laying in the bed I noticed the light beeping on the camera that monitored the entrance gate. The security wouldn’t be back until tomorrow morning so for now we had to control who came and left the premises.
“Tae, somebody is at the gate trying to get in,” I said to Tamar who was still consumed by whatever was in the letter he was reading. “Tae, did you hear me?”
I got up and walked over to the camera and hit the speaker button on the intercom device, “Yea,” I said over the speaker.
“Hey, it’s me Danesha. I was wondering if I can talk to you for a minute,” My heart began to flutter in my chest. I knew it; I knew as soon as we got back that drama would not be far away. What the hell is Danesha doing here? I thought. I looked over at Tamar and wondered if he’d just heard any of what was going on.
“Tamar, Danesha is at the gate!” I yelled. “Tamar!”
Tamar continued to ignore me; he ran his hands across his face and sat the letter he’d been reading down on the bed. For a few moments nothing was said. I hit the button for the speaker again. “Danesha, what are you doing here? What do you want?”
“Rozalyn, I’ve gotten my life together and I wanna take my baby girl home,” Danesha said sympathetically.
I released the button on the speaker, turned around, and stood face to face with Tamar. Before I could even say anything he grabbed me by my throat and began to snatch every breath I had left in my body away.
“You wanna tell me what the fuck really went on in that restroom the day of Keylan’s wake?” Tamar asked and the grip he held around my neck became tighter.
At that moment as I took my last breath I wished that I’d let Tamar handle Brandon in whatever way he saw fit.
