To The Top: An Older Alpha Male and Curvy Younger Woman Romance
Page 3
She moaned into my mouth, the sound quiet.
My cock twitched.
I ran my hands down her back, tugging at the waist of her leggings. She wiggled her hips, letting me pull them down.
I grabbed her ass as soon as it was exposed. Full and soft, and comfortable to hold on to.
Everything about her was so perfect.
I stepped back from her. “Hey. C’mon, let’s go to my room?”
Riley nodded eagerly, following me down the hall.
I closed the bedroom door behind us and guided her toward my king-size bed. She climbed up, her cheeks flushed.
I kissed her again. Harder this time, and longer, shifting her to get her leggings and underwear off.
I didn’t wait. As soon as she was naked, I slid my hand between her thighs.
She was already wet.
I groaned softly, my fingertips finding her clit.
She let out a gasp. Her hips moved on the bed, rocking slowly against my hand.
“Good?” I asked.
She only nodded in response, whimpering against my shoulder.
I only let it last for a minute before I pulled back from her. I threw my own clothes off and pushed her back on to the bed.
I liked this bed. It put women at the perfect height for me.
She looked up at me, watching with wide eyes as I reached into the nightstand. I tore open the condom wrapper and rolled it on, grunting at the feeling.
Riley spread her legs, biting her lower lip.
I plunged into her.
She felt so hot around me, so tight. I groaned, closing my eyes and settling inside her.
She tensed around me.
She was going to make me come too fast.
I bit my lower lip, opening my eyes to look up at her.
Slowly, I started to thrust.
Riley whined, her hips rocking against mine.
I reached up, grabbing hold of her wrists and holding her down on the bed.
Her whole body shuddered and she tightened around me.
“Fuck, Riley.” It came out as a moan. I tilted my head back, moving a little faster.
I’d been thinking about this all day, and it was just as good as I’d hoped.
She moaned under me, her hips moving. Her tits bounced each time I slammed into her.
It was so fucking sexy.
I felt the heat building, and I knew it wasn’t going to last much longer.
But Riley beat me to it. She arched off the bed, crying out. Her legs tightened around my waist, drawing me into her.
That did me in. I bent over her as I came, hips rocking.
“Fuck,” she panted.
Smirking, I said, “We did.”
I kissed her gently.
“I’m exhausted.” She shifted, wiggling away from me and rolling over. She looked good in my bed. “Let’s get some sleep?”
I smiled. I couldn’t argue with that. “Let’s sleep.”

Even after amazing sex, I woke up at five a.m.
I decided to skip the workout today in favor of taking care of Riley.
I went to the kitchen and started on breakfast—bacon, eggs, toast. I brewed coffee and turned on the electric kettle in case she wanted tea.
An hour after I woke up, I heard an alarm go off, then a soft gasp.
Riley came running out, just in her panties, arms over her breasts.
I smiled at her. “You okay?”
“Oh—okay. I thought—I don’t know, I got freaked out.”
“No need to freak out,” I said, kissing her cheek. “I just made breakfast.”
She nodded slowly. I put a plate on the bar for her.
She sat down. “I should have left an hour ago. I didn’t even think about it. None of my clothes are here.”
“I’ll cover for you. Don’t worry about it, okay?”
She looked up. “Really?”
“Really.” I nodded. “Just go home after you eat and clean up. I’ll run things until you get there.” I winked at her. “Traffic’s really bad today, you know.”
She smiled. “Traffic’s terrible. Got it.”
Chapter Eight
Riley
I wore Sam’s t-shirt back to my apartment.
I couldn’t believe that my last twenty-four hours had actually happened. I’d gone from the new kid in the office, only a step up from an intern, to working on one of the most high-profile projects in the company. With one of their best executives.
And we’d had sex.
Amazing, mind-blowing, life-changing sex.
Nobody had ever made me feel that beautiful. Nobody had ever made me feel sexy before.
Sam had.
He’d made me feel like I deserved to be wanted by somebody like him, and he’d made me come so hard.
I couldn’t stop smiling.
I let myself into my apartment, turning on music and going toward the bathroom. I needed to shower and get ready quickly so I could make it to the meeting.
But as I pulled the t-shirt off, I caught a whiff of the cotton.
It smelled like him.
Heat rushed through me again.
...Maybe I had enough time for a round with my vibrator.

I walked into the office, feeling a little out of place again.
I’d tried to dress better today, and I felt weird.
First off, I hated heels. I never wore them. They were uncomfortable, and I felt unbalanced. But all of the other women wore them, and I wanted to look professional.
I’d tried harder with my clothes, too. Instead of a skirt, I’d put on my nicest slacks and a button-up that closed over my breasts. I’d styled my hair, pulling it halfway back from my face.
I’d even put on a little makeup. Not much, but more than I’d worn the day before.
I didn’t want to do this every day, but the meeting was too important for me to show up looking unprofessional.
I walked in and headed straight for Sam’s office. I was late, but only by an hour. He’d promised to cover for me and make sure everything was ready for the meeting.
But when I turned to go into his office, Martin was there, talking to Sam and Sarah.
And they all looked really happy.
I stopped short.
What was happening?
As I stood outside, Martin shook Sam’s hand, patting him on the back. He turned to Sarah next, shaking her hand too.
And then he turned and walked out of the office. He smiled at me. “You look nice today, Miss Drake.”
“Thank you, sir.”
He nodded and went down the hall toward the elevator.
I took a deep breath and went into the office.
Sam turned to look at me first. His eyes lit up.
I didn’t feel as happy as he clearly did.
“Morning, Riley,” he greeted.
Beside him, Sarah snorted.
I tried to ignore her. I forced a smile of my own. “Morning. Are we ready? Is it time?”
His expression tensed for a moment. “Well, something happened. The meeting got bumped up to eight a.m.”
No. That would mean it was already over.
I’d missed the entire meeting.
My shoulders dropped. “Okay, so what happened?”
Sam smiled. “It was great. Everyone loved it. Martin was really impressed, Riley.”
I glanced at Sarah. So they’d had me do all the work, then swapped me out for her.
I wanted to cry.
I wanted to quit.
Sarah spoke up. “Well, I’ve gotta go. A lot of really important stuff to do.” She touched Sam’s shoulder, then walked toward me.
As she passed, she bumped me with her shoulder. Hard.
Definitely on purpose.
I turned to look after her, then back at Sam.
He smiled. “It went really well. I mean it.”
I shrugged. “Great.”
“Riley—”
&
nbsp; “Just—am I still working under you, or what?”
Sam blinked. “Well, yeah. I mean, since that project went so well. I’ll email you a list of files to go through. It’ll help you get a feel for what we’ve got coming up next. I think Martin will want to keep us as a team.”
“Yeah. Great.” I turned on my heel, stomping out of his office and into the one across the hall—the one that had become mine on my first day here.
I sat down at my desk and put my head in my hands.
Everything had seemed to be going so well, and now I felt like I’d been used. Like they’d taken my hard work and pushed me out of it.
If this was how it was going to be here, I didn’t want to stay. I’d go back to the town I came from before I let this happen again.
Chapter Nine
Sam
I wasn’t sure why Riley was so angry, but I was all right with letting her have some space.
Being around her was too distracting, anyway. I needed to focus on my work, and so did she.
Still, two days went by, and every time we passed in the hall, she gave me a blank look. At every meeting, she sat away from me and avoided my gaze.
I wanted her. Every time I saw her, it was like a fresh reminder. It took me back to that night in my bed. I could hear her moan, taste her kiss, feel her heat around me…
This was unbearable.
It was made even worse by the fact that Sarah had noticed. She’d seen how upset Riley looked, and she was trying to use it to her advantage and get between us. Every day was filled with texts from Sarah, suggesting coffee, dinner, working late together.
It was annoying.
And when I was in a meeting with both of them, it was worse.
I’d initially taken a seat that I hoped would put me next to Riley; instead, she ended up across from me.
Sarah sat beside me.
It wasn’t a very interesting meeting; it was a review of a new client, a look at some of their past marketing. Sarah was overseeing this one, but we always did these preliminary meetings for brainstorming.
Sarah kept touching my leg under the table.
I’d shaken her off a few times, but she was persistent.
I groaned as I felt her foot touch the outside of my ankle. She dragged it slowly upward and I shifted in my chair.
Riley looked at me and sighed.
Great.
Both of them at the same time.
I echoed Riley’s sigh and she shot me a filthy look across the table.
I looked back at her.
Anger flickered in her eyes. “What?” she snapped. “What are you looking at, Sam?”
The conference room went silent.
I felt my face heat up.
I’d never been embarrassed like this at work.
Martin, at the front of the room, looked toward us. “Is everything all right?”
I looked back to him and held one hand up. “Yeah. Everything is good.”
“Okay. Well, back to where we were…”
I made a point of not looking at Riley again for the rest of the meeting.
It came to an end. Sarah immediately turned to me, smirking. “What’s her problem, huh?”
“God, Sarah, stop.” I shook my head.
Riley was already on her way out of the conference room. As I moved to go follow her, Sarah stepped into my path.
“Why are you so hung up on her, anyway?” Sarah asked. “She looks like a pig in that skirt and she’s really not that great at her job.”
“Sarah, knock it off already!”
She snorted, but held both hands up. “Okay, fine. Whatever you want.”
I moved around her, going after Riley.
She was ahead of me, down the hall. I watched her turn into her office and hurried to catch up before she could close the door. “Riley.”
She stopped and looked back at me, folding her arms. “What do you want?”
“We need to talk. Now. In private.”
I didn’t wait for her to reply. I just took her hand and pulled her back down the hall.
She followed without protest.
I took her to one of the back conference rooms. These were rarely used, and one of them was entirely enclosed. No windows, no glass in the door.
I pulled Riley inside, closed the door, and locked it.
I turned to her. She glared up at me, mouth open and ready for an argument.
I leaned over and kissed her.
She was just as sweet as I remembered.
I lifted her up, setting her on the conference table. Her skirt rode up, giving her space to move, to wrap her legs around my hips.
This was what I’d wanted since the moment I laid eyes on her—hot, fast, semi-dressed sex.
And from the way she was already pawing at the button of my pants, I could tell she wanted it, too.
I let her undo my pants and push them down, just far enough for my cock to spring free. She took it in her hands, stroking it slowly.
It felt incredible.
But as much as I wanted to draw this out, let her stroke me a while, I knew we didn’t have much time.
I reached under her skirt, pushing her panties to one side.
I slid two fingers inside her.
She gasped, her head rolling back.
I loved her reactions to everything. They seemed so genuine, so enthusiastic.
Especially when I was working her open, getting her ready to take my cock.
“Please,” she whispered, looking up at me through her eyelashes. She shifted her grip, aiming my cock toward her entrance.
I pulled my fingers out and shifted forward, easing inside her.
She gasped, leaning back on the table, propped up with her elbows.
I leaned over her, speaking into her ear. “I’ve been thinking about this all day. And all yesterday, too.”
She nodded. “Me, too.”
“Really?”
“Yeah.”
“Mm. Good to know.”
I kissed her neck, starting to thrust into her.
She gasped again. It was quickly becoming my favorite sound.
Her legs tightened around my hips, thighs squeezing me just a little.
It was perfect.
It didn’t take long for me to start losing my pace, thrusting into her erratically. Her hips moved against mine, grinding into me, and I knew she was just as close as me.
“Sam!” Her voice was high, but still quiet. “Sam, I—”
She cut herself off with a sharp moan, clinging to me. Her body shook against mine.
I was done. I pushed deep into her, buried all the way inside, and spilled inside her.
She held me tight, panting against my suit jacket.
I rubbed her back, listening to our breathing.
Fuck, I’d needed that.
“You good?” I asked her.
Riley nodded. “Real good.”
I kissed the top of her head.
“Good. Now get back to work.”
She laughed, lightly punching my chest.
Chapter Ten
Riley
I felt like everyone was looking at me.
I’d gone into the bathroom after my unexpected encounter with Sam to clean myself up a little, but I still felt like it was obvious. Everyone surely knew what we’d done, and where, and how.
Part of me was embarrassed.
Part of me was thrilled.
I had a secret. A delicious, sensual secret.
I needed more of Sam. I needed him to stay around and keep making me feel like I was someone desirable and important and good.
But how was I supposed to focus on the rest of the work day when I’d had this?
I needed more.
I needed Sam to take me home and fuck me again.
I went back to my office and sat down behind my desk, biting my lower lip nervously. What if somebody had caught us? Would we be in trouble?
I was so distracted by my thoughts that I didn’t noti
ce somebody come in until I heard a throat clear.
I jumped, gasping. When I looked up, Martin stood on the other side of my desk, laughing to himself.
“Sorry. I didn’t mean to scare you, Miss Drake. I was just hoping I could talk to you for a moment? In my office.”
All of those good feelings I had been enjoying vanished.
I managed to keep my smile in place, although I was sure it looked panicked. “Of course. Yeah. Now?”
Martin nodded. “As soon as you’re free. I’ll be waiting.”
Oh, I was fired.
I waited until Martin left the office before standing. I had only brought a handful of personal stuff to the office so far, and the box was still here. It only took me a few minutes to pack my calendar, my photo of my family, some pens and notebooks I’d bought to celebrate the new job.
It was fine.
My old job would take me back, I was sure.
It would suck to break my lease, but if that’s what happened, it’s what happened.
I took a shaky breath. I couldn’t put it off.
I went down the hall to Martin’s office.
He was sitting behind his desk, pouring an amber-colored liquor from a decanter. There were two glasses, and he poured a few sips of the drink into each one.
“Miss Drake,” he said brightly as I came in. “Come sit. Let’s chat.”
I sank down in the chair across from his desk. He handed me one of the glasses.
I sniffed it.
Whiskey wasn’t normally my drink of choice, but I could do with some liquid courage right now.
Martin looked at me for a moment. We both sipped our whiskey.
He put his glass down before speaking. “I wanted to congratulate you. Personally.”
Congratulate me for having the fastest rise and fall in company history?
“I…what for?”
Martin laughed and leaned back. “For pulling off such incredible work in such a short time.”
I blinked. “The Acres campaign? I wasn’t sure if I was still, you know. A, a part of that.”
“Oh, you are. Very much so.” Sam smiled. “Sam spoke very highly of you. How hardworking and driven you are.”
My cheeks went hot. Sam had said all that?
“Well, thank you. I actually enjoyed working on it.”
“Did you?”
“Yes, sir. I did. It was good.”
“That’s what I was hoping you might say.” He nodded toward me. “Because Acres is yours now.”
Mine? It seemed to soon. Too big of a project for someone as new as me.
