“Kill, please. I promise it won’t be long.”
Killian looked at her and said nothing. He’d already said what he had to say. It was up to her to listen.
“Jesse, don’t be messy. Just leave, damn,” Jerian said, clearly flustered by the situation.
“Jesse,” Junior called his name with more authority. “Go ahead. Deidra will give you a call later.”
Jesse ignored everybody while still looking at East. “Aight, East. If this how you want to do it, then cool.” He nodded and walked towards the door. “I just find it comical that you have time to be a wife but haven’t made time to be a mother in two years.”
The fuck? Killian’s heart stopped. East’s head dropped. A few sighs and curse words could be heard as the living room went completely quiet. Damn. Killian looked at East.
“East?”
She raised her head with tears in her eyes just as a little boy walked through the door holding a toddler. The light pink knit hat she was wearing covered her head and ears, only displaying her small little face. She had bright little eyes that were wet from tears and a cute little mouth. Killian couldn’t breathe.
“Daddy, she kept crying.” The boy tried to hand the baby to Jesse, but he wouldn’t take her.
He pushed him toward East instead. “Take her to her mama.”
Killian held his breath as he watched the little boy walk toward East. The baby snatched her hat off along the way, and a head full of curly, black hair sprang free. Fucking East! Jerian sucked her teeth, Deidra wiped away the tears in her eyes, while Junior shook his head. They’d all known. Everyone had…everyone except Killian.
“Baby mama, baby mama…I’m tired of you,”

A native of Columbus Georgia, I've always been a fan of reading but found my passion for writing during my sophomore year in college.
