“Thank you again,” I said.
“Call me if you need anything else. This is my cell phone with the department so your call will come straight to me.”
“I will,” I promised, and we said our goodbyes.
I put my phone down and faced the others. “Why didn’t we think of that?”
Mark shook his head. “I don’t really know anyone in the military, maybe that’s why, but honestly, that’s no excuse.”
“I agree,” Kara concurred. “But at least Luke did, and he has it covered right?”
“Yep.” I picked up my bottle. “Thank god for Luke Dimarco.”
