“I want to make you come.” I took myself in my hand and positioned my tip against her wet center in preparation. “I want to feel your climax ripple around my cock.”

“I have no objections to that.” She panted as a sexy, mischievous expression lit up her beautiful face.

I put enough space between us so I could look into her eyes. They were bright blue, wild, and hungry. Her lips were red and swollen from my kisses, and her pussy was slick and wet with need. This night couldn’t get any better, or could it?

I slipped into her inch by inch until I was seated balls-deep inside her. She sighed and moaned as her satin muscles adjusted to my size. I withdrew my cock from her slowly. Her eyes left mine in favor of watching where we were joined. She nibbled her full bottom lip and I noticed a slight flush spread across her chest as she continued to stare. Was she turned on or embarrassed? It was hard to tell.

“Do you like to watch?” I asked, curious, but completely turned on at the same time. I’d never been with a woman who enjoyed watching.

A wild sense of hunger swirled within her eyes when she lifted them to meet with mine. “Yes.”

A smug smile situated itself on my face as I thrust in and out of her, going deep and slow. Her moans and sighs fueled my movements, driving me to the edge of a climax. I knew I wouldn’t last long, not with her and not with this situation, but I still wanted her to get off first. I picked up my pace, thinking it would bring her closer to what she needed, but all it seemed to do was move me closer to mine.

“Tell me what you want,” I insisted, all but pleading for her to tell me the secret to getting her off. “Tell me what you need from me, sweetheart.”

“Hard. Do it harder,” she surprised me by saying, but ultimately confirming my earlier suspicion about her.

Casey was a dirty girl. I liked dirty girls. I liked them a lot, especially this one.

A wicked grin pulled at the corners of my mouth as I slid one of my hands from her hip around to cup her ass. “You sure that’s what you want?”

She nodded and laced her fingers behind my neck to steady herself. “Yes.”

I obliged by taking her hard, deep, and fast. Moans hissed past my lips as I stared into her heavy-lidded eyes. This woman was fucking beautiful and so were the soft moans pushing past her parted lips.

God, I wasn’t going to last much longer.

I slipped a hand between our bodies so I could stroke the pad of my thumb against her swollen clit. Her head tipped back and her body bucked against mine. There was a tension in her muscles that had me pushing myself to move faster because I knew she had to be close to a release. I could sense it.

Seconds later, Casey melted in my arms as she lost herself to an orgasm. I buried myself deep inside her as my own climax rippled out of me. Breathing heavy, I leaned my forehead against hers as I let the aftermath of my pleasure fizzle out.

I pulled out of her and tugged my pants up from around my ankles. Guilt raced through my veins, but I wasn’t sure why. When I looked at her face, it hit me. This wasn’t something she normally did, she’d said as much. All the tequila in her bloodstream had fueled the situation and now that it was over, there was regret festering in her blue eyes.

“Well, that was…” She let out a nervous laugh. “I don’t even know what that was. I’m seriously at a loss for words, which never happens to me.” I watched her as she adjusted her clothing and smoothed her hands along her hair.

“Sexy as hell, that’s what that was,” I informed her, reaching out and lacing my fingers between hers. “Come on, I want to show you my place.”

“Um, sure. Okay.” There was a smile on her face, but it seemed forced.

I felt horrible for what had just happened between us. There was a large part of me that knew Casey deserved more than being fucked against a brick wall behind a building, she deserved better. This entire night had been about sex and unblocking her creative juices, but I didn’t think what we’d done was good enough for this woman. She wasn’t the kind you did dirty things with and then left. She was the kind you took your time with. The kind of woman you cherished. The type you tucked into your life and loved forever.

While I might have only just met Casey, I believed these things. I couldn’t explain why, but I knew there was truth to my thoughts.

Casey Gilbert was special, and I was damn sure going to let her know it.

  Chapter 5

  Casey

“I have coffee inside.” Sebastian reached into his front pocket and pulled out a set of keys. “Or if you prefer a fancy latté or whatever, we can head back downstairs and order something.”

  “Actually, I don’t drink coffee.”

He inserted his key into the door and glanced over his shoulder at me. “You don’t drink coffee?”

“Never liked the taste, no matter how much cream or sugar is added in.” I shrugged.

“Isn’t that what writers live off of, though?” He swung his front door open and motioned for me to step inside before him. “I mean, don’t you sit around joking about how you need an IV of the stuff?”

“Where did you hear that?” I asked with a chuckle as I stepped inside his place.

“I’m not sure, I think I may have seen it on a t-shirt or maybe it was one of those memes that always crowd my newsfeed.” He flipped the light to the living room on and closed the front door behind him.

I took in his place. It was mahogany furniture mixed with a modern style I found appealing. Dark colors seemed to be his palette of choice, which I would have worried would make the space seem smaller if it were mine, but it didn’t. Instead, somehow it all seemed to work well together. There was an open floor plan between the kitchen and living room, and a tiny nook that looked as though it served as a dining room. And the smell, sweet Jesus. The place smelled heavenly—like coffee and sexy man.

“So, what do you think?” His gaze settled on me. “Better or worse than you thought it would be?”

  “Better.”

“Nice. So, you thought I was a slob?” He crammed his hands in the front pockets of his jeans and stepped further into the apartment. I opened my mouth to say something, but he didn’t give me the chance. “You don’t like coffee. So, what do you like to drink? Besides tequila.” A crooked grin formed on his face that I found absolutely adorable.

My cheeks flushed as I thought about how I’d allowed alcohol to help release my inhibitions and propel me to do something I’d have wrote about a dozen times but never experienced firsthand. There would be no more drinking tonight, especially if I planned to be around Sebastian for any length of time. There was something about him that made me want to give into my innermost desires. It was insane to think so soon, but I liked being around him. No, I liked him. Period.

“I’m a tea drinker, but if you don’t have any it’s no big deal. Water will be fine.” I crossed his apartment and made myself comfortable at one of the chairs around his small dining room table.

“Yeah, I don’t have any tea. Coffee, milk, OJ, and water are pretty much all I have.” He opened his refrigerator and scanned the contents. “Like I said, we can head downstairs and get something if you want? My treat.”

I shook my head. “No, I’m okay. Thanks, though.”

Sebastian moved to sit in the chair beside me. I looked at my fingernails and began picking at my cuticles. I knew this entire thing had been my idea, but I hadn’t intended for everything to go as planned. Now that it had, I wasn’t sure where to go from here. Was I supposed to say good night and head back to my sister’s place? Or was I supposed to hang around and make small talk? I’d never had a one night stand before, so I wasn’t sure how this was supposed to go. All I knew was that right now everything felt like torture. Awkward torture.

“Look, I’m sorry for the way things happened downstairs,” Sebastian surprised me by saying. “I got caught up in the heat of the moment and took things too far. I apologize.”

I tucked a stray strand of hair behind my ear an
d forced myself to look at him. “Why are you apologizing? It was exactly what I asked for.”

“Because.” He reached across the table and grabbed my hand. His thumb traced a lazy pattern across the top, sending bolts of electricity zapping through me from the touch. “Things shouldn’t have happened like that. Not with you. You deserve better.”

My heart kick-started in my chest at his sweet words. “How do you know I deserve better? You barely know me.”

“I can tell.” He leaned forward until his lips nearly brushed against mine. The heat of his breath on my mouth had desire blooming through my lower stomach that begged me to erase the millimeters between us. “What happened didn’t give you what you wanted, or set your creativity free. I can tell. Your muscles are still tense right here.” He let go of my hand and reached out to squeeze the area where my shoulder and neck met.

A soft moan escaped me at the feeling of pressure he placed there. The sound of it had heat flashing through Sebastian’s eyes. He licked his lips and continued to massage me.

“See, there’s still tension inside you that needs to be released.” He breathed against my lips. “Let me help you like I said I would, like you asked me to.”

I didn’t respond with words, which didn’t matter because I wouldn’t have been able to find my voice anyway. I was in heaven. Sebastian had stumbled from the pages of one of my novels and into real life. To say I was mildly surprised was an understatement.

My lips crushed against his. He responded instantly. After a few seconds of fiery kissing, he lifted me from my chair and carried me across his apartment. Our lips were still fused together when he fumbled to open a door near the back. When he was finally able to open it, he carried me through the dark room until he reached a large bed where he placed me.

Sebastian’s lips found mine again, but this time, his kisses involved tongue. I could taste the heat of his stiff drink from the bar as he possessed my mouth in a way it had never been before. I slipped my hands beneath the soft cotton of his shirt, eager to feel his warm skin against mine. Knowing what I wanted, he peeled his shirt off and tossed it aside. My fingertips scaled along the solid planes of his muscles, paying close attention to each dip and valley as though I were reading braille.

One of his warm hands smoothed along my thigh, moving upward until he reached my hip where my panty line rested. His thumb hooked into the side and he slowly tugged them down. I kicked off the lacy scrap of material once it reached my ankles and sat up so I could remove my dress as well. The second I peeled it off, Sebastian’s fingertips found their way to my bra. It was unhooked and tossed to the side in a flash. Next to go was the rest of his clothes.

Heat burned through Sebastian’s eyes as he hovered above me, causing a jolt of pleasure to skitter up my spine. I couldn’t remember when any man had ever looked at me the way he was—as though I was the most beautiful woman he’d ever seen.

He bent down, allowing his mouth to work over mine again as he lined himself up with my center. I waited for him to lose control and pound into me like he had before, but he didn’t. Instead, he slowed his kisses and trailed his fingertips along my arm.

“Are you sore?” he asked in a low, throaty voice that had me wondering if making love was taking all of his willpower. There was a beast inside of him, I could sense it. He enjoyed being wild and free in bed, but a part of me thought he might enjoy this as well.

  “No, I’m fine,” I breathed.

“Promise?” He gazed into my eyes and I knew he was searching for any sign I was lying. “Because we don’t have to do this.”

I ran my fingers through his hair and smiled. “Promise.”

“Good, because I can’t get enough of you.”

His mouth slanted across mine, and his tongue stroked erotically against my own. It was demanding and gentle all at once. His hands roamed over my body, erasing all thoughts from my mind and causing my limbs to grow weak. When he nibbled my bottom lip, dragging it between his teeth, I whimpered into his mouth. A low growl of approval rumbled from his chest as his hand slipped between our bodies. He teased my entrance with the pad of his fingertips, preparing me for what was to come. When he finally did push into me, it was gentle, as though he was worried he might hurt me even though I’d said I wasn’t sore.

Sebastian’s movements were so slow they were torturous. He rolled his hips back and forth at a steady pace that had me digging my fingertips into the solid muscles of his back. I lifted my hips to meet his in the hope that he would pick up his pace, but he refused.

  “Faster,” I begged.

“Can you handle it? I don’t want to hurt you.”

I gripped his buttocks and dug my nails into his flesh as I arched my back, forcing him closer to my G-spot. “Yes, I can handle it. I said I’m fine.”

A chuckle rippled through him as he rose up and gripped my hips. He steadied himself before he picked up his pace, sending pleasure crashing through my body as the head of his cock brushed against my G-spot in tantalizing strokes. I lifted my hips higher to meet his thrusts. His speed didn’t last long enough. All too soon he slowed his movements again, causing me to whimper from the buildup I was being detoured from.

“I can’t,” he growled. “I need to take it slower.”

A smirk twisted onto my face because this gorgeous guy was admitting I felt too good to him. He couldn’t control the pleasure he was feeling and felt the need to slow things down. I let him, but only because slow was nice too. His hips moved in a rhythm that did things to me I hadn’t been aware were possible. My toes curled as the buildup of an orgasm I’d felt earlier surged to life again. My hands fisted the sheets as I teetered over the edge of oblivion. When Sebastian dipped his head to kiss lovingly along the side of my neck, slowly making his way to my earlobe, I fell. A blissful orgasm rippled through me, triggering his.

Moments later, we collapsed into a sweaty tangle on the bed and stayed there, twisted together in one another’s limbs until we were able to catch our breath.

“That’s how earlier should’ve gone.” He leaned over and placed a kiss on my shoulder. His hand slipped along my spine and over my ass repeatedly until my entire body relaxed.

I sank into the mattress, wavering on the edge of sleep as tiny sparks of electricity warmed my skin due to his touch. Contentment unlike anything I’d ever felt before flowed through me as I gave into the lull of sleep pulling at me.

My eyes fluttered open to find sunlight shining through Sebastian’s bedroom window. I stretched languid limbs out, feeling tender in places I hadn’t known possible, but mostly between my thighs. I couldn’t remember the last time I’d had sex twice in a twenty-four-hour time period. Heck, I couldn’t remember the last time I’d wanted to. There was something about Sebastian I couldn’t get enough of. He was skilled, passionate, and sexy as hell. It was a dangerous combination, but one I wanted insanely bad.

I rolled over onto my side, ready to explore his body with my hands again and taste his mouth, but he wasn’t there. Nothing was, except crumpled sheets and empty space. The scent of coffee hit my nose and I gripped the sheets to cover my bare chest as I moved into a sitting position. Maybe he was in the kitchen, preparing breakfast for us. The thought brought a smile to my face, but as I stilled my body and held my breath to listen for him, no sounds met with my ears. There was no clanking of dishes or sizzling of bacon cooking.

Nothing. I was alone in his apartment.

Sebastian had given me the best sex of my life, twice, allowed me to sleep in his bed, and then left me the next morning. My lips twisted into a frown at the thought. I reached for my cell to check if he’d left me a message, but remembered I hadn’t given him my number or thought to get his. I closed my eyes and pulled in a deep breath to calm myself. While this wasn’t exactly how I’d expected things to go between us, I now had an all new appreciation for rejection. The next time I wrote about characters having a one night stand, I’d have an array of emotions to tap into so the story would fee
l authentic.

My eyes darted around the room as I searched for my clothes. A Post-it note stuck to the headboard above Sebastian’s pillow caught my attention. All right, maybe he didn’t leave me high and dry after all. I reached out to tug the sticky note free but soon realized there was more than one. They’d been stuck on top of each other, like a chain of notes. I smiled as I grabbed all three.

  Good morning, gorgeous.

Sorry to rush out, but I had to get to work. There’s money on my dining room table for tea and breakfast.

I flipped the final sticky note over to see if there was anything written on the back. My lips pressed into a thin line when I found it blank. Hurt burned through the center of my chest in full force and I felt my eyes tear up. He hadn’t said last night was wonderful. He hadn’t asked to see me again. And he damn sure hadn’t left a phone number where I could reach him.

Obviously, we had two separate views of how the night had gone.

I crumbled up the notes and tossed them on his pillow. A sigh pushed its way past my lips as I flung his sheets off me. Sickness sloshed in my stomach. I needed to get out of here. I raced around Sebastian’s bedroom, gathering my clothes as quickly as I could. Once I had everything, I dressed and tied my hair away from my face in a fresh ponytail. My sickness turned to anger the more I thought about everything, and the worst part was I wasn’t sure it was justified. After all, I knew what last night was all about because I’d planned it. The one thing I hadn’t factored in was how I’d feel about Sebastian afterward.

My heels clicked across the hardwood floor at a rapid pace as I rushed to the kitchen to grab my purse and whatever money he’d tossed on the tiny table as though I was a cheap whore. I made a mental note to jot down all the emotions I was feeling so that later when I wrote this into a story I’d have the right angle.

My purse happened to be sitting on the dining room table beside a crisp twenty dollar bill. I scooped up both in such a hurry I almost missed another sticky note Sebastian had left beside them.
