CHAPTER ELEVEN
Spies and Lies
I woke up in a comfortable bed, golden silk covers were spread over me. I was propped up by what seemed like a million down pillows. A baby blue velvet curtain was pulled around me. The bed was made of a dark mahogany wood and it was four-poster. Many days had passed since my first day here, and I was enjoying my tasks more with each passing moment. I sat up, my muscles were stiff I couldn’t remember why. All I did yesterday was have a lovely lunch with master Zenwaler. We had discussed how I would be able to get revenge regarding the CIA. He was quite pleased that the training I had gotten meant he didn’t have to train me. I stretched my aching muscles. What a weird dream I had had. Brainwashing by machine what rubbish. I hopped out of bed and slipped my robe on over my pajamas. I checked the time. I had an hour until I was to report down to master Zenwaler so I padded off to shower to change. Deciding that maybe the warm water would sooth my aching muscles.
“Renady! Good morning.” Master Zenwaler greeted me.
“Good morning, master.” I said.
“Won’t you join me for breakfast? I have a few things I would just love to discuss.”
“Of course,” I replied. I was standing at attention in the dining room in front of Master Zenwaler, my breakfast was naturally earlier than the other “students” here after all I had a lot more to do than they did. I brushed my hands along my dark, form fitting t-shirt, and dark pants and combat boots. The dining room was gigantic with extravagant chandeliers lined the length of the whole room there was mahogany tables arranged strategically around the room. We sat at one that was farthest from the entrance and by a wall of windows overlooking the entire island.
“You wanted to discuss some things?” I hinted anxiously.
“Yes. Now there is the matter of classes. I would like you to teach the students about the CIA since that is who we will defeat first, I want you to remember your time there and remember any weakness they might have had. Also, I would like for you to attend gym. I would also like you to study everything about every student here. They will soon be under your command, and I think you should know everything about them. Just keep in mind that if you tell them about their past it will break them from the brainwashing so be careful. Here is the key to the filing cabinet that is in the secret room behind the statue in the library. You will spend all of the days studying the contents of the files if you like you can stay up past curfew to study. After all, your troops will be ready by the end of this week, and that isn’t much time. Tomorrow I would like you to spend most of your day studying those files besides attending gym, and teaching your class on the inner workings of the CIA. Today I want you to concentrate only on the files. There is also books in that room my dear I would like you to study those too once you are finished. Now I don’t know how clean it will be, it is only a stone room after all. Because of all the preparations I haven’t been there in quite a while. I would like you to go strait there, I would also like you to attend science too tomorrow. They are studying poisonous, edible, and healing plants. I think that this should keep you busy for a while, or at least until your troops are ready.” He told me.
“Yes sir.” I replied, as a waiter walked up to us.
“Mr. Zenwaler, Renady. May I ask what you will be having today?” The waiter asked. “Yes I would like a steaming cup of coffee and eggs, bacon, toast, and pancakes.” Master Zenwaler ordered.
“Fruit salad, three eggs poached, barely cooked, and a very small bowl of oatmeal” I said.
Right away.” The waiter said bustling off. “Now there is one more thing I would like to discuss with you my dear.” He said. “I once had a daughter and she died when she was about your age. She was murdered and her murder was never solved. They said that it was just not a priority. That is what’s wrong with this government. They just don’t care. So for her I wanted to change things and I decided if I could rule the world things would be much better off. I would do it for her. You remind me so much of her strong, stubborn, independent, smart. So I decided that I would adopt you. Think about how wonderful it could be you would have a say in the world and if you wanted we could even make that horrible E. Johnson a butler just to get back at him, or we could kill him whichever way suits you. So, what do you say?” Master Zenwaler suggested.
“Well that would be wonderful but I think I would rather have E. Johnson as a butler what good would he do us dead?” I stated.
“Indeed such a smart girl.” He said, wagging his fork at me.
The students swirled around me heading to their classes, the boys in one line and the girls in another. They walked mechanically, breaking off when they reached the door of their classes. I walked in between them making my own special line I guess. All knew my rank was the highest and had accepted it. They knew that they must treat me with respect, and if they didn’t, well, few welcomed those consequences. As I passed the first boy in the boys line I was reminded of something. I remembered him, his blond highlights. Where had I seen him? I probably had seen something like that on TV, but I couldn’t place it for sure. I picked up my pace and passed him approaching the library doors. I stuck in my ID card waiting for the little ding that would let me know that I could go in. Finally I heard it, and pushed open the doors. The Library was filled with books on combat, and assassination etc. The room was shaped like two squares a much smaller square placed in the middle that really was like a little courtyard. I exited through the French doors that lead out to the courtyard in the middle was the statue that master Zenwaler had described. It was a statue of a young girl riding a bicycle. He had said that it was a statue of his daughter and I could see the familiarity between us. I walked straight to the front of the statue. The girl was wearing a locket like master Zenwaler had said I pressed on the locket part of the necklace. It scanned my fingerprint, then the statue started to turn and as it did rose up out of the ground. I pulled a flashlight out of my purse. The gadgets the CIA had given me were still in there. Ick. I would have normally gotten rid of them but I decided that I might need it at some point. I started my decent down the stairs my flashlight sweeping from side to side, into what seemed just like dark bottomless pit ready to swallow me up. I shuddered. After what seemed like ages I finally reached the end. I entered a room with walls and floors made of smooth, gray, stone. A large oversize rug was placed in the middle of the room, beanbags cushions even a couch were situated on it in front of a huge fireplace. I looked around for the thirteen filing cabinets that master Zenwaler has described. I soon found them placed against a long wall tucked away in a little nook. Book shelves lined all the other walls and another nook.
I went to the first file cabinet. I wanted to get this over with so I could get out of here. I fumbled for the key to the first one in my pocket. Once I had finally found it I shoved it into the key hole and twisted twice. I heard the click and pried the first drawer open which I assumed hadn’t been open in a while with the protest it made. I grabbed all the files out of it making a huge stack in one arm. I hurriedly walked over to the rug and plopped down on a beanbag. Every thirty minutes or so I would heave myself up off the beanbags and exchange that set of files for another drawers worth. Before long I had finished all the filing cabinets and I assumed it was barely around six o’clock. When I realized the large amount of time I had left of the day I decided that instead of going to dinner I would impress master Zenwaler by reading the books he had suggested. I walked to one of the book shelves and grabbed a handful of books. I was about to walk away when a crinkled folded paper fell out, and onto the floor I reached down and picked it up. I unfolded it. I was amazed when I saw it’s contents. It was in fact two pieces of paper. The first one said.
