Page 24
Dearest Renady,
If you are reading this I just want you to know how sorry we are.
You weren’t supposed to find out until you were older.
This man Renady is terrible. Whatever you do don’t trust him. If we can’t, please try to save these poor kids. We love you our dearest Renady. We are so sorry to inflict this upon you. We don’t know if we will be able to get away so we just want to let you know that we will always love you forever, and that there are things that you will find out. Know that we wish we could tell you them, but we can’t, for it is not our place.
-Grandma Helen and Grandpa Ralph.
My head was spinning and my stomach was twisting itself into knots. I pulled the music player out of my bag. I was in spy mode.
I walked the I-pod around, scanning the room, through my earphones I could hear a beeping I realized it was like the game hot and cold. I walked around the room and found four bugs, and luckily no cameras. I chose not to deactivate the bugs that would tip them off. I sighed and went to sit on the sofa.
I brought the books over to the side of me on the couch. I found the book which I assumed the notes had fallen out of. It was titled “The CIA” I opened the book and realized that it was a fake cover. It was more like a large handmade map of the whole area, hand drawn. There was titles and a description on every map. I realized that this too was written in my Grandparent’s handwriting. The first map was a map of the first floor and the security measures that had been placed to guard it. It was split up into sections and there was two guards to a section, they both would switch with two more at a certain time, and this was the same time at all sections. Wow super sloppy.
From five in the morning to nine at night was the first two guards in each section’s shift then from nine at night to five in the morning was the next two’s shift. Interesting they would completely disappear if a new student came they would all get the day off.
I supposed that except for with me they would want the student to not know what was coming. The next pages had all the other floors. Then one outside. The guards outside and on all the other floors had tight schedules no lapses at all. I noticed there were plenty of cameras everywhere. It would be very difficult to get out unless a new student came even then though there was still the matter of security cameras, the guards outside too got the day off then. The grounds went on for miles but there were only guards near the school. I turned the page. For a second I thought my eyes were playing a trick on me. I rubbed them but it was the same. On the next page there was a map drawn of a set of tunnels. There were a few entrances but the most inconspicuous entrance was through a bush all you had to do was go behind that bush and there would be a hole to drop in through. There was one more entrance that doubled as an exit that lead back into the mansion it sprouted out in Celcius Zenwaler’s office. The next was only an exit that came out by a at the dock. I would have to check it out tonight. I flipped through the other pages, then ripped out the security pages and the map of the tunnels, and folded them into my clothing.
