The Dark Prince (The Dark Prince Trilogy #1)

“She doesn’t talk, but for now, let’s get this over with,” Chase said as Valerie took her spot against the desk next to her husband. She stood straight, placing her hands behind her back with her chest pushed out only slightly.
Chase wasn’t thrilled about the fact that Summer had been given drugs without her consent, nor his, and it seeped through his voice as he talked to Trent. He had promised that nothing would happen, and it already broke his trust.
Summer simply let everything pass over her head. She didn’t remember anything that Trent said at first, as her mind wondered around the room. She took note of how Chase smelled as they stood next to each other. He had taken a shower and shaved his face so he smelled strongly of clean skin and a nice aftershave or cologne. He kept an arm around the girl, holding her. She wasn’t sure if she should be thankful for the extra support, or if she should be wanting to run as far away as she could possibly go.
Clare stood off to the side, trying to stay silent as she willed herself to not cry. She knew this wasn’t right, but she wasn’t able to do anything about it. She knew about Chase Marcel, the Prince of the Marcel’s. He was the only son born to his parents, and he was more than ready to take over the family business. His family friends that he grew up with were like brothers, and all three were close, as any real blood family.
Chase had several cousins, besides the ones he was closest to. Trent Sate was the one that he was seen in public with most of the time during raids or big fancy outings were media reporters often hung out, waiting for a new story to broadcast.
“Summer Grace Meads, do you promise to be faithful to Chase Howard Marcel, never committing adultery, through health and all of life's struggles?” Trent’s soft voice broke Summer out of her thoughts. Not sure why, she simply nodded before Trent turned his attention to Chase, repeating to him the same question. Her thoughts were too slow to catch on before she nodded, giving away her consent.
“Chase Howard Marcel, do you promise to be forever faithful to Summer Grace Meads, never committing adultery, being true to only her through health and all of life's struggles?”
“I do,” Chase said lightly, giving Summer a small squeeze. He was waiting for the words to sink in for Summer.
What? Summer thought. She was confused all of a sudden. Even with the medication, she knew something wasn’t right. It wasn’t making sense.
“Chase, you may place the ring on Summer’s finger,” Trent said next, ignoring the widening eyes of the girl. Summer wanted to shake her head, telling them she didn’t want this, but she couldn’t get it to work.
“You’re doing great, sweetie,” Chase whispered quietly to the girl, trying to let her know that she would be okay in the end.
Valerie was doubting that the second drug was working well enough. She had given half a dose to Summer, thinking that would be more than enough to get her to corporate, but it was failing. Turning her head, as she didn’t want to see the fearful look as the knowledge she was being married sank in, forever tying her to this life.
Valerie didn't want Summer to make a scene, as it wasn’t every day that a slave was forced to wed their handler. It also didn’t help that Valerie didn’t like the idea of Chase of all people, to take a bride. Least of all, this way.
Before Summer could grasp fully what was happening, Chase slipped a slim silver ring with a simple small diamond in the middle along with a matching band onto her finger. It wasn’t much, but it fit her perfectly. From what Chase knew of the girl so far, she probably wouldn’t like much being spent on her or anything flashy. Just from watching her expression, he knew she was not happy. Her look was one that if she could shoot fire, Chase would be a pile of ashes.
He was almost thankful that Valerie went behind his back. Almost.
She turned her burning glare towards the man that was now her husband, and she wished he would burn in Hell. How dare he do this, and on her birthday for that matter? Her look would surely make him a pile of ashes, taking the entire house with him. She was sure he could feel her fury and disgust at him seep through her skin into his.
“You may kiss the bride,” Trent said with a laugh, seeing the girl’s expression of shocked fury. She was tempted to slap him, damn the punishment that would no doubt come with it. But as Chase slowly cupped Summer’s face between his warm hands, he noticed she was responding to his touch in a positive way.
She didn’t flinch or try to back away like he expected. He knew, right then, that Valerie had gave her more than just a calming drug. Storing that knowledge to the back of his head for the time being, he brought his lips down to hers, giving her a gentle kiss on the lips. He didn’t want to push his luck taking a chance of her biting him.
Summer couldn’t stop her eyes from closing as his lips met hers. His lips were soft, inviting and consuming. There was a small buzz between them both. All too soon, he pulled away, his green eyes blazing with need from just that one kiss. He knew that he wouldn’t get the chance again to kiss her.
“I am sorry for doing this, Summer, but it was the only way,” he whispered in her ear, bringing her into a hug against his body.
He then pulled back, telling her to sign the piece of paper on the line, with him following. They were now truly husband and wife.
“Lunchtime!” Trent yelled on his way out the door with Valerie following. The loudness of his voice caused Summer to slightly jump, as she hadn’t been expecting it.
"Come on, Princess," Chase mumbled out with a kiss to the top of her head.
Numbly, Summer followed. She was trying to push her emotions away. She was trying to fight the drugs, but it wasn’t working. Clare followed, keeping behind the newly married couple, staying quiet, her hands clasped in front of her.
They entered the kitchen where someone had delivered two pizzas and there was a bottle of white wine waiting. As Chase helped his new wife sit in a chair, Valerie was busy getting wine glasses out, pouring each person a glass of wine before having Clare set them out. Trent was busy already digging into the pizza, setting each a piece out on paper plates.
“I’m sure mom would have something grand at a time like this. Pork roast or steak,” Trent mused before shoving a bit of gooey pizza into his mouth.
“Most likely,” Chase agreed.
“She can throw her huge announcement party in a few months,” Trent responded.
“You’re a party pooper,” Chase pouted, although his voice was light. He wasn’t a huge fan of the Marcel get together's either.
“I hate parties,” Chase mumbled, but Summer was able to catch it. She had to agree wholeheartedly.
Clare sat two plates down on the table in front of the newlyweds, giving Valerie enough time to slip another half a pill into each wine glass for both of them. She wanted Chase to let loose if Summer by chance, actually would open herself up to do something tonight. He was as stuck up as a virgin most of the time, and stressed to the max.
“Congratulations, Prince Ass-wipe,” Trent muttered out with a mouthful of food. He never cared for the way the older man took charge, how he wanted to change things. Wasn’t the way they were living good enough? He could understand, and would be by his side all the same though.
“I heard that,” Chase laughed, not offended. They often acted like teenagers when they got together. It was how their relationship worked.
Valerie gave out a small laugh, drinking a sip of her wine. The meal was filled with laughter between the three. Summer and Clare both stayed quiet, listening and watching between eating bites of their pizza. Summer’s thoughts, normally crazy and all over the place when no one was talking to her, or demanding something of her, were calm and collected.
Summer knew as soon as the next dose of drugs entered her system as she was overly calm, and smiling more. She even gave a halfhearted laugh about a joke that Trent shared. Chase didn’t notice until his glass of wine was completely gone that something was wrong. He felt relaxed, and not worried about anything that was now set in stone. He didn
t worry that there would soon be a war upon him and his family. He was happy for once. He laughed and joked with Trent, actually liked the feeling the warmth of the wine in his belly. He leaned back in his chair, a glint of happiness and peace in his eyes.
After they finished their meals, Clare took care of the leftovers as Summer was instructed to not lift a finger since it was her special day. Clare did as she was told, giving Summer concerned looks. As the group of four made their way to the living room, Clare went upstairs to change and begin working in the spare bedroom again. Chase had told her to go do what she wanted, as long as she didn’t leave the house, hardly sparing her a glance. He only had eyes for Summer at that moment.
He had Summer pulled down next to him on the couch, his arm flung over her shoulders and running the pads of his fingers against her bare arm. He desperately wanted to feel her skin against his hand.
“When will Hank have all the paperwork sent to you?” Valerie asked while examining her fingernails, acting as though there was no other care in the world that demanded her attention.
“In a day or two,” Chase answered lazily, letting his head tilt back so he could see the white ceiling, resting it against the back of the couch. He was trying to not let his cock think for him, but with a warm body pressed up against him, he couldn’t control his reactions. It had been too long since he took up with a woman to fulfill any of his needs. Way too long, some would say.
Chase had ordered a birth certificate, State ID, and social security number. He also wanted bank cards for his wife to have access to his funds so she could buy whatever she needed or desired.
“But tomorrow afternoon, we are having words, Valerie,” he said in a deadly calm voice, training his eyes straight on her after lifting his head back up. He never did like the wife his cousin had picked. She acted without thinking, showing how truly was she spoiled. Being born into a wealthy family of old money always made women think they could do whatever the hell they wanted, whenever they wanted. One thing Chase hated with a passion. He liked women who were smart, and didn’t go off looks alone.
“What did you do Val?” Trent asked, sitting up straight, his attention fully on his wife. Although her posture was still the same, the shape of her shoulders sagged in dread.
“She drugged me. And my wife,” Chase answered after a moment when Valerie hadn’t answered.
Summer chanced a glance at the woman, seeing the look of fear on her face for a moment before she had a time to mask it. Would Chase hurt her?
“I’ll deal with it,” Trent said, giving a hard look towards Chase. The look spoke volumes, more than his words ever would. At his words, Valerie ducked her head in shame. Who know if her feelings were real or not, though.
“Let’s get ready to go home, Val.” He then stood, and Summer was about to protest, before Chase’s voice broke her train of thought.
“He won’t hurt her, at least not in that sense of the word,” he mumbled, kissing the side of her head in a gentle manner. “They have a different set of rules that they live by, and with the way I like things, Valerie knew better than to do what she did.” He then couldn’t help himself, trailing his lips down to her cheek, then jaw and neck. She smelled amazing. Her skin soft against his lips.
“Tell me to stop,” he muttered between kisses, hoping that she’d take control. He didn’t want to do this, having sex with her against her will just because they both had drugs in their systems. Instead of her saying anything, she tilted her head to the side, giving him more access. She knew she needed to tell him to stop, but his lips felt good on her skin. She could feel the heat burn inside her body.
“I left a couple of pills on the counter to counteract the drugs, but don’t take them until the alcohol is out of your system,” Trent said as he took in the couple on the couch. He was sure that neither knew what they were doing. He was tempted to put a stop to it, but Chase did need to relax and what better way to do so then shooting off a load. Maybe the Prince would be in a better mood.
Chase had somehow managed to move so he sat facing her side. He kept his lips attached to her skin, not caring where they touched. He had a hand on her waist, holding her warm body still, or at least trying to. His other hand supported her head as it leaned back, tangling into her soft twists.
Summer was unable to think. She could only feel and she felt amazing as the her husband kissed every inch of her skin that he could. Before he realized it, she had taken one of her hands and wound her fingers into his hair, feeling how soft it was to the touch. It was like silk in her fingers.
Trent laughed, leaving them to it, knowing his words were lost to them. Maybe Valerie was right. They did need a little help to get them going and Chase always was a gentleman. He needed an heir, even if he didn’t know it. He left a note on the counter instead, hoping that Chase would see it. If not, Clare would in the morning. Trent locked and shut the door behind them as he led Valerie out to the car, leaving the two to do their thing.
“Let’s go upstairs,” Chase said, pulling back and looking into her eyes in a need filled haze.
“Okay,” Summer replied before attaching her own lips to his neck and sucking. He groaned deep, needing more. More of her, more of everything. He almost reconsidered even going to a different room.
The sun had long set and as Clare tried to sleep alone, Summer and Chase made their way to his bedroom. He would be having his wife, his Princess, sleep in his bed from now on.
He wasn’t sure how they made it up the stairs and to his room, but before either of them knew it, they were both naked, kissing and on the bed. Her moans filled the room as he began to massage her breasts. She couldn’t help but arch into him, begging for more. She was already wet as she laid on her back, allowing Chase to trail warm wet kisses down to her breasts. He sucked one into his mouth, while his hand trailed down her body. His other hand supported his weight. He hummed around her breast, bringing her pleasure.
He knew how women’s bodies worked and he didn’t want to admit it, but Summer’s was the best. So responsive. So warm and soft. His hand reached Summer’s slick folds before slowly pushing one finger in before adding another. She was wet and tight.
“I’m not gonna last long,” he stated, moving so he hovered above her. He met her lust filled eyes, knowing that this would most likely be the only time he’d have her here, willingly. He waited for her to agree before taking her and claiming her as his.
“Please,” she whispered, letting her blue eyes pour out her need. She felt like she’d die if he didn’t finish what he had started.
Without more prompting, Chase lined himself up, letting his hand brush against his cock before slowly pushing himself into her warmth. Inch by inch, he went deeper, letting her walls expand around his hard cock. Once he was all the way in, he kissed her deeply, slowly moving back and forth and causing friction. She was warm, tight, and perfect.
“You are mine, Princess,” he panted out, trying to hold back. He wanted to slam into her, taking everything she gave, but knew now wasn’t the time, even in his drug filled lust.
“Yours,” she said happily, wrapping her legs around him, heels on his ass and pushing him against her. Taking the silent cue, he began to thrust into her harder and faster. His cock deep inside her, his balls slapping against her ass cheeks. She could feel every inch of his hardness as he took her. She wanted more. Craved it.
Both were panting, as Chase pushed against her g-spot, causing her walls to squeeze around him as she came. He thrust once more before freezing, spilling his seed inside of her.
“Thank you, Summer,” he said with one last kiss to her lips. He pushed himself up, keeping his softening cock inside her warm, wet pussy for a moment longer. He gazed into her eyes, seeing the drugs taking full effect. She was almost asleep, her eyes falling closed.
He was soon following behind her as he brought the covers up to cover their naked bodies. He would never forget the feel of her, of being inside of her warmth.

Chase had forgotten to close the curtains and his bedroom door the night before. He woke up with a pounding headache, his thoughts muddled. He wasn’t sure what he drank the night before, but whatever it was must have caused more damage than he had originally thought. He was warm, too warm; his body relaxed, even with the sheen of sweat covering him. He knew that wasn’t normal.
The sun was shining in through his light sheer curtains, casting light along his face, making it even brighter than normal, even with his eyes closed. Taking in a deep breath, he began to notice that there was someone lying on his chest, a leg thrown over one of his own. He could feel that they were both naked as the day they were born.
Peeling his gritty eyes opened, he saw Summer and instantly everything crashed into him. He remembered being drugged by his sister-in-law, along with Summer. He remembered how he took her, claiming her as his. He remembered everything, even if it was a bit fuzzy in places. But most of all, he remembered they neither of them fought against the drugs.
