Rozalyn 6: The Finale

I shook my head while staring at Starr. I could tell she was just putting up this big ass front like she didn’t care when she really did. I had got up to go use the bathroom when something on the wall above my kitchen table caught my eye. I could’ve sworn that I saw a light blinking for a split second and just when I thought I was tripping, it did it again.

I got up and walked over to the table, climbed up on one of the chairs until I was standing on top of it. I didn’t see anything that looked out of the ordinary and I no longer saw the light that I thought I had seen before.

Maybe it was the weed or the liquor that had me tripping and seeing shit. I balanced myself on the wall to get down and that was when I felt a lump where my hand was. I ran my hand over the wall and then noticed a tiny hole that was almost too easy to miss. The only reason why it was of any concern to me was because I couldn’t get what Keysha had said to me about Tamar having cameras in my house. I had been looking around to see if I noticed any since I had been in here talking to my girls, but didn’t see where any could’ve been.

“Girl, what the hell are you doing?” Brian asked me.

“Hand me a knife,” I told him. I stared at the hole, scared that if I took my eye off of it, I might not find it again. Brian walked over to me and placed a knife into my hand. I dug into the wall where the hole was and a layer of paint fell off and onto the floor.

“Well I be damned. That bitch wasn’t lying. Y’all look at this shit.”

I yanked the camera out of the wall and quickly jumped down off the table. I rushed to the counter to pick up my cell phone to call and get in Tamar’s ass when I noticed that I had a few messages from him. Unlocking my phone, I went to my messages and my heart immediately dropped into my stomach. Tamar had sent me a few pictures of Jaheim with a gun to his head with caption that read: Kiss your boyfriend goodbye. You know what’s up.

  16: Starr

“Damn, that’s what I gotta do to get you to fall through,” Dro said as he opened the door. I rolled my eyes and walked past him into his house. I noticed that the swelling had gone down on his face and that the few gashes he had were starting to heal. I walked into his living room and just stood there with my arms folded across my chest. Dro took his time because he knew that I was upset with him.

After our last encounter, I told Dro that I was done with him in effort to work things out with Neek. Even though Neek no longer made me happy, I had to at least give him the chance to try.

Rozalyn was right about what she said, although I didn’t tell her that. I should’ve told Neek how I was feeling and gave him a chance to make it right before I stepped out on him. For that I felt bad as hell because had he done me like I’d done him, neither him or the bitch would be alive to tell about it. Not only that, I had to think about our daughter. She was used to her parents being together and for us to break up our home would be damaging to her and I didn’t want that. I had to give our marriage a fair chance and getting rid of Dro was the only way to make that shit happen.

No lie, I was addicted to nigga’s dick like it was some kind of drug. The way he fucked me and ate me had all the way open. Luckily, I wasn’t one of those soft bitches that fell in love easily and knew that what Dro and I had was just a fuck thang. Had I been a gullible ass chick, this nigga would’ve had me going against all the good sense I had and moving in with his ass like he’d asked me to several times before.

“Nigga, if you don’t get your ass in here!” I said waiting for Dro to bring his ass out the kitchen.

“I was trying to bring your ass a drink. Why you ain’t answering my calls and shit, Starr, I know you seen me calling you.”

“Yes, I saw your calls, and all your messages too. Look Dro, I told you when I left that room with you that I was done with you. This shit has to stop and I’m serious. Please stop calling and texting my phone. Do not come by my shop looking for me and if I see your car drive past my house one more muthafuckin’ time, I’mma give Neek the okay to end your life so I don’t have to.”

“Bitch you out your muthafuckin’ mind. That nigga caught me off guard the other day, but best believe the next time I see that bitch ass nigga, I’mma make him work for his paper. True. You know I ain’t no hoe.”

“I can’t tell with the way you blowing up my phone and crying like some little bitch.”

“So you think I’m a bitch, huh?” Dro asked as he placed his beer down on his end table and walked up to me. I stood there and eyed that muthafucka’ like he was crazy. If he thought he was about to put his hands on me then he had another thing coming. The hammer would be knocking against his temple so fast he wouldn’t even have time to react.

  “Just calling it how I—”

Dro had his hand wrapped around my throat before I could even finish my sentence. I tried to fight him off of me, but when he brought his lips to mine, I couldn’t resist kissing him. He backed me up to his couch, pushed me on it, and began removing my shoes, followed by my pants, and panties.

“Dro, look, stop. I’m serious, I can’t keep doing this with you.”

“One last time before you leave me babe and I swear I’ll leave you alone,” he told me and the look in his eyes told me that he was lying, but when he dipped his tongue into my wetness, I was too overwhelmed with pleasure to care. Neek could never eat me as good as Dro. This shit was going to be like going through hell and high water to stay away from him, but I know I had to do what was best for the fam. Maybe I could take the time to teach Neek a few things and spice up our bedroom.

“Wooo shit,” I moaned. Yea that’s exactly what I’ll do. I definitely gotta teach my man how to eat the pussy like this nigga. He hadn’t even been down there a full minute and oh gawd I was about to cum. “Fuck! Eat this pussy nigga cause it’s the last meal you gonna get from me!”

After cumming all over Dro’s face several times, I decided to let him tear my pussy up one last time as well. Fuck it, there was no telling when I would be able to get some dick again being I was still in the process of begging Neek to come home.

All good things must come to an end; I thought as I pulled my clothes on. I looked over at Dro sitting on the edge of the bed with something in his hand. The nigga looked depressed; like he had just lost his best friend. I couldn’t sit here and feel bad for him though because he knew what was from the jump.

I never told him I was the one to settle down with him, or did I ever lead him to believe that I would leave my husband. He had to know this day would come soon. I didn’t want it to end either, but it was the right thing to do.

“A’ight babe, it was fun while it lasted,” I said as I slipped my feet into my shoes and prepared to walk out of the door.

“I bought you this a few weeks ago. I know you said it’s over, but you know a nigga in love with you, Starr.”

I looked over at Dro and saw that what he held in his hand was a ring box with one of the most gorgeous rings I had ever seen. It was cut nicely and trimmed with yellow diamonds. I shook my head and tried to get out of there as fast as I could, but Dro caught up to me right at his front door.

He wrapped his arms around me, and placed his face into my neck. I could feel his heart beating rapidly against my back and I hated to have to do him like this, but I didn’t have another choice. In a different world, I could have him and my husband both without there being any problems, but we didn’t live in that world. These niggas wouldn’t be able to coexist in my life.

“Just take it and think about it. I love you that much that I’m willing to wait and let you sort things out with that nigga. But if you be honest with yourself, then you know that nigga could never and won’t ever do you like I can. I know that you don’t smile with him as much as you do with me because you told me so.”

Dro slid the ring inside of my purse and opened the door so I could leave. I rushed down to my car in an attempt to get away from him as quickly as I could. Once I got inside my car and closed the door, I pulled out the ring and
examined it. I did something that I hardly ever did in life and that was cry. Dro had our initials engraved on the inside of the ring and immediately knew that if I didn’t leave Miami, Dro was going to have me again. I just couldn’t seem to leave him alone. Shit.

  17: Neek

The past couple of weeks, my life had been turned completely upside down. I thought that I was being a good dude by completely changing my life around and joining the army back when my daughter Dominique was born. Starr had agreed that she was putting her guns down and leaving all the bullshit behind and I figured it would be best for me to do the same.

Things were going good for us for the first couple of years, but suddenly things had taken a turn and it wasn’t hard for a nigga to tell why. Starr’s father ruined her. He trained the damn girl to be some gangsta with the hopes that one day she would be a queen pin and rule the damn world. If Dominique had never come into the equation, I knew that Starr and I would probably never be together and that she would still be running wild in the streets.

I had caught her a few times trying to flip a few keys that I knew she had gotten from Tamar and I straight slashed her ass for that shit, but I knew the thirst she had for that type of cash and just being in the whole mix of the streets was something she just had to have.

For her, I decided to start back hustling because I could tell she was growing tired of the bland ass life we were living and if I had to be honest, I was sick of that shit, too. I just didn’t realize until I held a hundred bands in my hand with free will to be able to do what the fuck I wanted with it because I knew I could make that shit right back.

I thought that this would be the change Starr and I needed to get our lives back on track, and I did see some change since I joined the UNC. Starr was happy again. Just watching her count up the money I brought at home at night, and her hearing the stories about my day and how I was bossing up in the streets made her feel like she was there with me.

Things were good and I was happy to put a smile on my baby’s face until I realized that maybe I wasn’t the one making her smile. I knew some shit had been off with her so I started watching her a little more closely. I noticed her phone was suddenly on vibrate all the time. Noticed it going off in the middle of the night when she would be sleep and I had even caught her coming in the house in the middle of the night with our daughter in tow when she thought that I was still out working.

The day I caught her with that nigga, she had been texting on her phone nonstop that morning. That was why I decided to chill on hitting the streets and tell her I wanted to spend the day with her to see if she was gonna lie to me or if she would put that dude off. Soon as she left the house, I had my patna Shug follow her and let me know if she was really going to work. When he hit me up and let me know that she had stopped off at a hotel, I jumped in my Challenger and flew right over. She had the nerve to put the hotel in her name and all it took was a few hundred dollars for me to get the key from the concierge.

Seeing my wife in that position broke me down so fuckin’ bad that I was out here fucking up. I hadn’t been on my square and I knew I had to sit back and chill for a minute to get my head together before I ended up dead. I knew word had gotten back to Tamar by now that I had been slipping, but shit it was either that or fuck around and get robbed or worse.

Today was the monthly UNC meeting of the heads and it was mandatory that everybody was there. Everybody got together and talked about what was going on in the streets, making sure everyone was good on the product, and that no one had any problems. This meeting didn’t just consist of your typical drug dealers either and that was the one thing about it that blew my mind.

I almost took off running the first time I came when two uniformed cops were sitting at the table joking around and having normal conversation like they didn’t stick the fuck out. Not only that there were politicians, judges, lawyers, and a whole crew of cooperate white boys that attended this shit too. It was wild as hell, but I had to give to that nigga Tamar cause hadn’t nobody been able to put no shit like this together that I knew of. I laughed when he told me he got the idea from watching reruns of The Wire one night.

When I walked into the boardroom, I spotted Tamar in the corner of the room in deep conversation with Black, Big Ace, and some guy wearing a kufi on his head. I went to take my normal seat next to Kevin when I spotted a nigga whom I’d never seen here before sitting across from us. I was staring at the nigga hard as fuck because although I had never seen him here, I’d seen him before. I couldn’t quite get a clear view of his face because he had his head down, but when he raised it, it was like something clicked in the both of us at the same time.

Within seconds, we both were on our feet with our heat drawn and pointed at one another. It was already bad enough that I woke up with the same image every fucking day of my wife riding this nigga’s face, so there was no way I was about to be working with this cat. Where the fuck did he even come from?

“Yo, yo, yo, what the fuck is going on?” Tamar said as he came rushing over to us with Big Ace right on his ass and his pistol out and ready to bust.

“Who the fuck is this nigga man? I swear to God, you better get this cat outta here bro or I’m a blow this bitch’s head off.”

“Nah, ain’t gonna be none of that nigga. You caught me slipping when I was fucking your bitch, but just like I told her last night after I fucked her, never again nigga,” he said and I fired a shot at him that went right over his head. I missed on purpose, but I swear if some more fly shit came out of his mouth I wasn’t missing the next time.

“Get him the fuck outta here before I end up killing this nigga mane! Big Ace, handle him! Now!” Tamar yelled as Big Ace ran his big ass in my direction and pushed me out of the boardroom. I walked up to the wall and punched a hole in it before making my way down the long hallway that led outside.

  “Aye!”

I looked over my shoulder to see Tamar running after me. I kept walking until I was outside and quickly reached in my pocket to pull out my pack of Newports. Pulling one out, I lit it up and watched as Tamar walked up to me.

“What the fuck is wrong with you shooting at my muthafuckin’ cousin like that nigga?”

Aww shit; I thought to myself as I shook my head.

“What the hell y’all niggas got going on?”

“Did you hook him up with, Starr?” I asked. If he was Tamar’s cousin then Tamar had to know that nigga was fucking my wife.

“What? Hell no, what the hell is you talking about?”

“You didn’t ask that nigga how he got them muthafuckin’ cuts and shit on his face. I caught him and Starr fucking the other day and beat his muthafuckin’ ass. On some G-shit, Tamar, if that nigga gonna be here then, I’m out.”

Tamar sighed. “Man hold the fuck up. I ain’t know shit about Dro fucking with Starr like that. That’s my cousin on my mama’s side and me and that nigga reconnected earlier this year. He used to get money with me back in Atlanta before he moved to New York, but he ended up getting knocked on an assault case, did six years in the pen and I hadn’t heard from him. He contacted me earlier this year and told me he was back in New York on his grind, but he wanted more so I told him come through and I would put him on. I had that nigga on some low-key shit checking some stuff out for me, but he been around for a while now. A good while. You know my situation and what I done been through with my fam and me losing my niggas and shit like that. Dro been A-1 with me since day 1 and my mama told me to make sure I take care of that nigga and that’s what I’m gonna do. Besides that, he done came through for me on a lot of shit that I can’t even talk about and I can’t turn my back on that.”

“I got you,” was all I said, but I was burning up on the inside.

“Go to the crib and chill out man and I’mma talk to this nigga to see what’s good. I consider you to be fam to Neek and honestly, I need the both of you to keep doing what you doing. Real shit.”

“I hear ya.” I walked off, got into my car,
and burned rubber all the way to the fucking house.

  18: Tamar

Black, Big Ace, Jahkim, two of his men, and myself were all headed out to a warehouse that I purchased a few weeks ago. It was off the radar and supposedly had been a Military Base before they shut it down many years ago. Now it was about to be the factory for my chicken business, and was currently under construction.

Yesterday’s meeting with Jahkim went well and he agreed that joining the UNC was something that he definitely couldn’t pass up. After speaking with him for a good while, he told me that I didn’t have to go about the things the way that I had in order to get at him and that if he known that I was doing things the way that I was that he would’ve easily came aboard. He loved the structure and the fact that I was young and black and doing something that no one had ever done.

I relaxed my head against the seat and thought about the shit that had gone down with Neek and Dro earlier. I got all up in Dro’s ass about the bullshit Neek had told me. I usually didn’t get into other nigga’s problems with their bitches, but all this shit was too close to home.

Rozalyn and Starr were back like they never left and I knew if I bodied Neek for that shit he pulled earlier, I would have hell to pay. Not only that, I was in my muthafuckin’ feelings still about Rozalyn’s dogg ass that I ain’t take too kindly to hearing that Dro was fucking this man’s wife. Shit I felt Neek’s pain and had it been anybody else, I would’ve gave Neek the okay to handle that nigga, but Dro was fam.

“Take me to him,” Jahkim said breaking me from my thoughts. We all jumped out of the truck the moment we pulled in front of the warehouse. I looked back at Big Ace, Black, and Jahkim’s men and told them to wait for us out here while I took Jahkim inside. I wasn’t worried about him doing anything. We had stripped all of them of their weapons before even allowing them to get in the truck.
