  “Oh my God,” Amber whisper-screamed.

  “I can’t believe this.” Azzy’s tone was hushed but excited.

  Amon put his arm around Jasmine and she leaned into him, still staring as a male came up to her, dressed in a dark brown suit with a green striped tie. His hair was the color of mahogany and buzzed close to his head. His large, oval eyes were the same forest green as his tie and his skin was the color of almond butter.

  When he was in front of Jasmine, he reached his hand out. “Hi there. The name’s Gabe. We’re the angel army and we’re here to help.”

  “Well, that’s just fan-fricking-tastic.” The words came from Amon’s mouth this time, and Jasmine flicked her head to the side to stare at him. He slapped his hand over his mouth, which did nothing to hide the glitter of a smile in his eyes.

  She laughed. “There’s no stealing my line.”

  “I would never dream of it.”

  They had an army now, and a fighting chance. Maybe everything would be okay now. Or maybe it wouldn’t. After all, the end wasn’t here yet. They were still very much at the beginning.

  Cassandra Fear lives in Ohio with her husband, two kids and two dogs. Hiking, taking care of her fish tank and reading are her favorite hobbies. She loves chocolate, hates driving in the snow and could eat macaroni and cheese every day. In her spare time, she loves to write, and has always dreamed of becoming an author. Her dreams will become reality with her first book, Above the Flames.
