Sitnalta nodded trying to find the ability to speak.
“I am Prince Navor,” he said with a smile.
Sitnalta did not know how to reply, and just stood dumbfounded.
“You have a beautiful home,” Navor said to her. “Is that your horse?”
Sitnalta nodded.
“She’s lovely. Can you introduce me to her?”
The question broke through Sitnalta’s thoughts, and she laughed. She thought she was the only one who believed a formal introduction to an animal was necessary.
“Of course!” she said, reaching out to the Prince. As her hand entwined around his, she felt a warm calm encircle her heart. For the first time in months, she felt comfortable in letting go of all the hurt and pain.
As she watched him pet her horse and speak softly to it, she knew that everything was going to be okay. She had finally found her happily ever after.
