  “He’s gone to the police and told them everything, it’s on the news. After we blew up his home, all the press turned up and he openly told them, everything. I’ve been gone a few days, how have you not seen the news? You’ve had your eye on her twenty four seven, haven’t you? Don’t fall for it.”

  “You did what?” I shout, she looks over at me and shines her crooked smile

  .”Yes dear, we blew up your beloveds’ home and he got out in time. Let’s put the news on, it’s still all over the news.” She switchers the television on and put’s the news channel it straight on.

  “The hunt is still on for the person who blew up Jared Hall’s home the other day. The only suspects that Mr. Hall gave us, was his ex wife Sabrina Hall and his ex body guard Phillip Child. Here are a couple of pictures of what they look like, if any of you see them get in touch with the police, we’re also informed that they are to do with the disappearance of Danni Shaw. If anyone knows anything, please come forward. Thank you.” She turns the television off and I cannot help but laugh.

  “Oh, you have screwed yourselves up big time, it’s only a matter of time till they find you and you’re going down and all of this would have been for nothing, you stupid bint.” Furious at my outburst she launches at me and starts clawing at my face. I can’t do anything because I’m bound to the bed. I’m trying to move my face but it’s pointless and its fucking hurting. “Get the fuck of me, you crazy bitch.” The other guy comes over and drags Sabrina of me.

  “Sabrina, no, fuck it off.” She’s trying to get free from him but he’s holding her back and she looks like a dog that’s being held and trying to jump over his shoulder.

  “You bitch, brag all you want. This is your entire fault.” She yells,

  “How’s it my fault? Am bound to the bed, you’re the one who kidnapped me and you only had the guts to touch me because I’m tied up.” I can feel my face dripping with blood where she has clawed my face.

  “Danni, shut up.” That guys snaps,

  “No! You may control your lap dog over there, but don’t think you can control me. You got yourselves in this mess and now I get front row seats at you all coming to an end.”

  “Let me at her...” She goes to mention his name but he managers to stop her.

  “Sabrina, leave and come back when you’ve calmed down. This means nothing; we could work this to our advantage. It’s not over. We simply turn it over to him, just means it’s time for you to come clean and tell them your side.” Worry flows over my face; they cannot do that, he’ll get done for attempted murder.

  “No! You can’t, she’s alive, they won’t believe that. It’s her word against his and he’s respected and her, well she a nobody, you think they will believe you over him with no prove?”

  “Who said we didn’t have prove?” She smirks and as the guy puts her down she walks straight for the door. Oh no, I need to get out of here and try to warn him, shit. No! They cannot do this.

  “Don’t do this, you’ll be going down yourself, can you not see that? Everything you all did to me, escaping Dillon, Sabrina shooting Jared and I, killing Carl and now blew up Jared house? That’s reckless and not forgetting kidnapping me.”

  “Danni, you’re forgetting one thing here, I won’t go down. The only people who know about me are Sabrina, Dillon and Phillip and now you. My hands are clean; they did all the dirty work, not me. I just told them what direction to go. So I’m safe you all aren’t.”

  “Wow, that is low. What do you mean you all? How am I going to go down?” I look at him puzzled, as I don’t understand how I could go down.

  “You knew what Jared did.”

  “Yeah, but he didn’t kill her.”

  “He thought he did and left her there. He made his guards clean his mess up and he also made her lose her baby, he’s a murder. He deserves everything that happens to him.”

  “And do I? You’ve all done worse to me and actually killed someone. Did I deserve any of this?” He drops his head down, that’s a sign of regret right?

  “No you didn’t and if this was a few years ago, I wouldn’t care. But like I said, it doesn’t matter, we had to do this. All I have is revenge, and the first step is to take everything that is important to him, his fortune, his love and we can reveal all of this, so everyone can see who he truly is. Anyone who knew about what he did, will go down with him. You, Alex, his sister Julie and let’s not forget everyone else who knows, that you told, Darla, Andi and Adam, I would say Carl but he’s dead.” I spit towards him.

  “Don’t you ever bring his name up, you piece of garbage. “

  “Say whatever you like to me, do I look arsed? You shouldn’t have told them, you put them in danger.”

  “You really are an evil bastard aren’t you? When I think I see some sort of light inside of you, you put me straight; I can never understand how people can just be abhorrent. So does Sabrina know your setting them all up for the kill? I may as well tell her seeing as I love to talk.”

  “You could, but you won’t be seeing her again, not right away.” He walks over to the floor and picks his black jacket up. “Next thing you’re going to be seeing is Jared’s face saving you and then you witnessing him going down. It was nice chatting to you Danni. I see what My, I mean Jared see’s in you. You’re a decent lass Danni, am sorry this had to happen.” He turns away and then shouts. “Phillip, come here.”

  “You won’t get away with this.” Jared cannot come and save me, I need to get out of this myself. What the hell have I done? I should have never went looking for Sabrina, I have doomed us all. Phillip comes strolling in. I look at him in disgust as when I see him all I see is Carl’s lifeless body in his hands. I listen to their conversation.

  “What’s up boss? Did you hurt her?”

  “I promised I wouldn’t, I wanted to, but I couldn’t!”

  “You looked into her deep green eyes didn’t you, big mistake.”

  “Yeah, she just got one of them faces that instantly makes you feel guilty. You know what to do, we have to move again, hurry up and get it over with.”

  “Yes boss.” Phillip starts to walk towards me and I see a rag and a black glass bottle, oh no, that’s chloroform; they’re going to knock me out again. I look over Phillips shoulder as I can see the man’s face looking over towards me.

  “Please, don’t this! I’ll do anything. If you want me to beg, I will beg.” My hearts feel like it’s being punched, because everyone is going to go down because of me, I am such a stupid cow.

  “Sorry, Danni and please don’t beg I don’t want that.” I roll my eyes towards Phillip as he’s on the side of the bed pouring the clear liquid onto the rag and starts putting it towards my face. I try move it away saying. “Phillip, don’t, listen! He is setting you all up, stop this.” He doesn’t listen and he covers my mouth and nose with the rag, the smell is awful, I try to fight away and it does not work, I start feeling weaker and weaker until everything falls black and I’m gone.

  Chapter Twenty

  Jared

  We’ve been sitting around for a few days now and we have no leads what so ever. All my resources have gone since my house got blew up. Adam is getting anxious. All we’ve done is drink are failures away. The only lead we have is the fact they still have Tyler’s phone so I can use the find my iphone tracker when they switch it on and they are bound to switch it on at some point when they’re ready to be found. It just takes the piss. We’re staying in Danni apartment in case something pops up as well, I’m staying here because well this was my home too, well sort of. It’s hard to stay in her bed as it still has her smell that lingers onto the pink pillows and pink duvet covers and I picture all our time we’ve spent making love, or just fucking about and then when I’m in the lounge all I can see is Sabrina’s face and her holding that gun. It’s full of good and bad memories. Right here in this bed just after we were engaged we were talking about or future, well I was, kids, which obviously we’d adopt, our gigantic house. It seems like ano
ther lifetime ago now. Its mental how one slight moment can change your entire path and lead you to a different destiny, it’s true what they say, life is unexpected and you need to appreciate what you have, because one moment you can everything, then with just a switch, you can lose everything. So yes, I’m lying here in my loves bed soaking up every memory I have of her, just in case she no longer lives.

  My phone starts to vibrate, so I lean over to the oak bedside table and grab it. I look at the time; it’s only nine in the morning. I have an email, and I open it straight away. I don’t know this email.

  Theonegoodage@inet.com: I think it’s time we met, now if you ever want to see your darling girl again, come to this address as soon as you can.

  10 more valley cottage

  Cheshire

  That’s all it says, no initials and that place isn’t far from here. I jump with joy because that email proves Danni is still alive. I need to run in to the others. I jump out of bed and get my foot tangled in the covers and fall flat on my face.

  “Ouch, for fuck sake.” I scramble myself free and run into the lounge where Tyler is still asleep on the sofa and Adam is making coffee.

  “What the hell is up dude?” I’m out of breath and trying to spit my words out.

  “Danni, she’s alive.”

  “What, how do you know that? That’s amazing news, Tyler wake up.” Adam throws a coaster at him.”

  “I’ve just got a random email of someone with an address. Saying, come as soon as possible or she will die. We need to get dressed and move our asses.”

  “Dude, you’re in your boxers, you can nearly see everything. Go back to Danni’s room and get changed.” Adam says, turning his head away. I look down, oh crap. I cover my balls with both my hands embarrassed.

  “Erm, sorry, I was a bit excited. Don’t be a hater because I am much bigger.” I laugh

  “Dude, did you seriously just say that to me? Go!” I couldn’t resist. I turn back towards Danni’s room and quickly get dressed. I’m glad I still had some clothes here. I find a pair of my well-worn blue baggy jeans and my white vest top, that’ll do.

  Once I’m all dressed, I head back out into the lounge, Tyler is up now, and I go sit on the sofa and Adam hands me a coffee.

  “Get this down you. Tyler and I were talking and we think it’s a set up, we have to go by this extremely careful.” He sits on Danni’s leather cream chair and looks worried. He never looks worried.”

  “I know it’s a trap, it’s blatantly obvious. This is the first lead we’ve had in a few days, we can’t ignore this and where certainly not going to the police. We have tried to be sly, but they have always caught on and been a step ahead, they’re going to expect us to come up with something random, that’s why we should just go and turn up, they won’t expect that. Hold on guys, give me a moment.” My heads started to spin, am burning up, everything has started to spin, I’m having a headache attack, fuck, I’ve not had one in a while. I feel a hand placed on my shoulder.

  “Dude, are you ok?” I do not reply straight away. Once the pain eased of, am able to look back up. Those attacks take a lot out of me. I wave my hand up.

  “Yeah, am fine now, I get them sometimes when I’m stressed.”

  “That’s not right dude, you need to get that checked out.”

  “I have, it’s nothing. I’ve not eat properly in days that’s all.”

  “Then get something, you’re useless to Danni if your weak.”

  “Adam!” Tyler snaps,

  “No, it’s ok Tyler, he’s right.” I look up at Adam, “We’ve not got time, we need to go now, he said so in the email. If I want to see her again, I need to come as soon as possible, and that’s more important and you know it. Now are you all ready? Let go and get Danni back.” Adam nods and so does Tyler and one by one we walk out of Danni apartment, ready to fight whatever they have marching our way and its either one heck of a dangerous trap or a wild goose chase, let’s hope it’s neither.

  “We’re here!” Andrew announces. It was only a twenty-minute drive. Why would they stay around here after blowing up my house? That makes no sense. We’ve pulled up to a beautiful cottage, that’s in the middle of nowhere. We had to come up a private road, just to get here.

  “Anyone recognize this place?” I ask,

  “Yes, I do.” Adam grunts,

  “Go on?” I say,

  “This is where Danni and Dillon use to live, this is where he beat her senseless and nearly killed her. What bastards bringing her here. What he done to her haunts her every day, so to be back in the house where it all when down, is taunting. She swore never to go back to that place. I cannot imagine what she is feeling right now. I’m going to fucking kill these bastards.”

  “Me too,” We get out the car and walk up the pebble walk path.

  “I thought someone would have taken over this house. I guess he wanted it kept, I wonder if it’s still all the same inside.”

  “Guess we’ll find out now. The cottage is white and has a brown wood looking roof, arched windows and a massive wooden front door. I look back towards the others. “Are you guys ready? Andrew, you stay out here keep an eye out.”

  “Yes sir.” I push the cold handle down and the door opens, as it opens, the door creaks and we walk straight in. Wow, this place looks immaculate. Nothing, is out of place.

  “Does it still look the same from when Danni lived here?” He’s nodding his head disgusted.

  “Everything is exactly the same, apart from them pictures stuck on the arch wall, which heads straight into the lounge.” I look up at the pictures and my mouth drops that is terrorizing, its pictures of what Dillon did to Danni. Where the hell did they get them pictures from? Tyler stands still with his jaw wide open.

  “What is wrong with these people, they’ve done this to fuck with her mental state even more.”

  “What the fuck dude? Have you basically just said she mental?” I clench my fist, and go to attack him. Adam jumps in front and Tyler’s trying to explain.

  “No, I meant it’s away to fuck around with her head.”

  “Back down Jared, this is what they want. let’s just split up and look for her. Tyler and I, will take down stairs, you go up the stairs and see if she there, ok?” I nod and we split up.

  I walk through the lounge and they are some black twirled stairs, that take’s you up stairs.

  I walk up slowly, my hearts pounding and I’m filled with nerves not knowing what am going to find. What if she’s already dead? When I get to the top they are only two doors. One is already open, so I do and take a look in their first. It’s just a bathroom, white tiles all around, even the floor is white lining, it’s kind of odd, why go all white? Anyway, not important, let’s go to this other room that’s located on the far end of the landing, they are pictures on the wall Of Danni and Dillon, she looks frightened in everyone and he’s just smiling all proud of himself. How could none of them know what he was doing to her? Fucking idiots.

  I get to the last door and open it slowly, as I walk in there’s another door to my left, and as I walk further into the room and there on the bed tied up is Danni, my heart as lifted with joy that’s she alive. Thank you, I run to her side. She has sliver masking tape around her mouth. I jump on the bed and rip the masking tape of.

  “Ouch.” She screams, her face is full of scratchers, what have they done to her?

  “I’m sorry.” She doesn’t look happy at all that I am here, she looks scared. Her face is cute and bruised.

  “Jared, you need to go now, you can’t be here.” I interrupt her and she still panicking, shaking her head.

  “What has happened to your face?” I wrap my arms around her relived that’s she alive and I’ve got her in my arms. Her heart is racing.”

  “Jared, you’re not listening, you need to go now, it’s a set up, just leave me and go now.” Her eyes a puffed, red and she’s crying.

  “It’s ok Danni, we’re all here to save you, Adam
and Tyler.” Her eyes widen with more fear.

  “No, you need to go.” I don’t let her finish.

  “Shh, it’s ok, you’re just traumatized with what has happened to you.” I untie her arms and legs so she can move.

  “Jared, you’re not listening, please go, he is here waiting for you.”

  “Who?” The other door slams open that was in the room, my face goes pale. I can’t believe this. I feel even more betrayed than ever. How could this be? He is standing there all smug. I don’t understand. “You? Are you fucking kidding me, How could you?

  “Well hello little brother, it is good to see you. “ I grind my teeth, clench my fists, that son of a bitch.

  “Nick.”
