The Savant Lands_The Lost Class

Once all the guards left I placed all the bones out and began the dull process of creating skeletons. Ten skeletons in, I got my long awaited for goal.
Congratulations! You are now level three in Necromancy. You can now utilize soul gems with your creations to make them to use intellect of a common NPC and Mana depending on the stone.
Excited I quickly finished creating all of my skeletons until a whopping 100 skeletons stood in front of me. I sent 50 to help tear down the old buildings while I quickly got to work of the rest. Luckily I got my gems back after using them and soon enough I was staring at 50 competent soldiers. They couldn’t use magic, but they were still pretty cool as well as intuitive. It was like buying NPC’s except they naturally jumped to level 14 due to my level. Sending a mental command for the giant skeleton to meet me I waited for him to appear in the courtyard.
As they huge 10-foot-tall skeleton walked in, I pushed the flawless soul into him and literally saw his eyes ignite with knowledge. With green flames in his eyes I turned to the 50 skeletons. “
This is your Commander you will do everything he says and that is a direct order from me.” I turned to the skeleton and saw his mana was at 1,000. I granted him a copy of “The Theory of Spell craft” and went through the same process with him. After which I told him he would be controlling the walls and to send the current 99 skeletons stations there to help the Carpenters. All the skeletons will be given bows as well as a short sword. Even though I lessened the amount of people on the wall, I had changed them to now bright soldiers commanded by an even brighter 10-foot-tall mage Warrior. It was truly a force to be reckoned with. Especially once they got the bows. Satisfied I could see a fourth of the towns building had already been demolished and with the help of the extra 100 skeletons it would be done by tomorrow morning. After all, skeletons didn’t sleep.
Chapter 29
I headed out to the fields to get more rhino skins for my army’s armor, level up my water magic, and get to level thirty. After my 20th rhino I saw the prompt I had been wait the longest for.
Congratulations! You have reached level 30. You can now pick a class.
Classes available: Mage God. Warrior God.
Well that wasn’t very exciting. I don’t know what I was expecting, but a prompt was not it. Maybe some event or perhaps the Dark One would show up, but not just a prompt.
Sighing, I clicked mage god to see what the class entailed.
Mage God: Receives 200% bonus to stats that are put into Wisdom or Intelligence. Two stat points are automatically put into Intelligence. All magic’s increase by one level. Learns unique magic spells. +1 extra profession point every level.
Now that was interesting! From what the forums said, regular mage classes got a 100% bonus to stats they put into Wisdom and Intelligence, 1 stat point into intelligence, and all magic increased by one. They said nothing about unique magic and spells, and it also seemed like I was going to be twice as powerful as a regular mage. This was awesome! Something with this many bonuses would help me out lot more than I was expecting. I definitely wouldn’t be invincible, but I would still be very powerful.
Clicking warrior god, I checked it to see if I was missing anything and what I saw got me thinking.
Warrior God: Can choose two stat categories to increase future stat points by 200%(Excluding Wisdom, and Intelligence). Choose one category to permanently place two stat points in (Excluding Wisdom and intelligence). 50% Magic resistant. Learns unique combat skills and abilities.+1 extra profession point every level.
The Warrior class was way more malleable. Not only that but with how much magic I had right now, I could see at some point I would hit a wall. There were only so many spells I could create and eventually I would turn into a meat sack that was ready for some rogue to sneak up and one shot. I wanted to be a mage because of the changes to the battlefield, but I am already at that point. I have extremely powerful spells as it is. Not to mention a horde of skeletons!
If I chose the warrior then I could exhaust all of my mana on the battlefield, and then instead of standing around, I could personally pick out the strongest people and defeat them myself. It was the perfect decision as far as I was concerned. Thinking a little bit more I decided to take a leap of faith and change my play style.
You have selected Warrior God. Select two stats to increase by 200%.
Thinking about it I knew I wanted to me as fast and as agile as possible so I chose dexterity for the first one. If I was going to rely so much on speed, then I would have to assume I wouldn’t be hit. That left strength and Constitution. Stamina was good, but I am going to be a speed build so I don’t want my battles to have to last long anyway. That left strength which was perfect. I would be able to strike quickly and with extreme power. Selecting the two, the next prompt came up.
Select where two extra stat points will go every level increase.
That wasn’t very hard for me to decide and I quickly chose Constitution which would increase my ability to last in a fight by adding to my health. Now that I had the 200% increase, for every point I put into a stat it would count as 3 which is a decent advantage since regular warriors would only get 2. Not only that but I would be practically immune to magic with my 50% resistance.
Finishing my selection, I waited for my abilities to pop up.
New combat ability learned:
Elemental Merge: Merge with the elements for five minutes increasing all stats by 100% (Cool down: 1 hour)
Now those were going to come in handy. Sadly, I didn’t get anything for darkness or light magic, but what I did get was pretty powerful. It also made me think about what the other players got that had the same race as me.
Confident I made the best choice I invested my stat points all into dexterity and looked over my stat screen.

Now that was impressive. As far as warriors of my level went, I was a total wimp. Even though I could move just as fast as them, my other stats would bring me down too much. The good thing is that I can rely on magic unlike them and pretty soon I was going to be way stronger, faster, and have magic.
Coming out of my interface, I saw Jake rushing to me with Grimm.
“You reached level thirty, what class did you pick!?”
Speaking back to Jake I calmly replied “Warrior.”
“What! Why would you do that? I thought you were a mage build?” Jake said exasperated.
I started walking to the dungeon “I decided to change things up a bit. Are you guys coming?”
After Jake gave Grimm a “I don’t know face” they both ran after me.
Chapter 30
Even though I didn’t have any spells with decent water damage, I figured I would use another tactic. Since I was now the same level as the lava hounds we would just have to charm two of them and use my golem to go through the whole floor.
Upon reaching the floor I charmed the first and second spikey lava hound we came across. The third one was easily ganged up on and I decided to try another necromancy skill, zombie. Zombies had one choice like skeletons when first starting off. I clicked mundane zombie and watched it raise. Whereas skeletons are very customizable, zombies were definitely not. Whenever I raised a zombie it kept everything from its previous life except its intelligence, which went way down. And the amount I could control was my intelligence/5. That meant I was stuck at 17 which was not a bad amount. Not only that but I could raise my zombie’s intelligence by giving it a flawless quality soul gem if they knew magic, the only problem being I had none and the Lava hounds dropped common quality ones. Currently my zombies would last for 12 hours but once I leveled up the skill they would last much longer and there would probably be a renew spell so I wasn’t concerned with that feature.
The floor progressed slowly at first and sadly the creatures didn’t drop any bones, but once I started building a horde of zombie lava hounds we overran anybody in our way until we got to the boss door. Expecting a hard fight, we teleported to the boss room prepared for anything. Surprised, I saw that in front of us was not a lava hound but more of a golem. It stood 8 feet tall with a thick magma like body structure. Looking at Jake and Grimm we huddled together and came up with a rather lackluster plan and spread out around the room.
Unlike previous bosses, Grimm was going attack first due to leveling up his “Sneak attack” ability that now had a 5x modifier, which could only be applied if the mob was not already in combat. After this Jake was going to use a taunt ability so Grimm wouldn’t get killed and we would all attack as much as possible with me saving my mana for healing.
I buffed everyone with a maxed out static shield and we watched silently as Grimm crept up behind the massive golem, plunging both daggers into the soft magma part of its neck.
Grimm has done 2,000 of 5,000 damage to level 35 Lava beast.
Due to the 50% damage resistance, the damage has been reduced to 1,000 of 5,000.
Damn that was a ton of damage! Something like that would instantly kill me! Not even my magical shield would save me from a rogue like him. Weapons could be enchanted with magical resistance and even Grimm said that when he goes to choose his class he had some skills and abilities that would help him against mages. Returning to the fight, Jake shouted at the top of his lungs, causing the lava beast to turn away from Grimm.
With a challenging roar, the beast charged at Jake. I ordered my shadow golem to intercept before the lava beast, but little happened due to the Lava not being a natural living being meaning the golem couldn’t draw enough life from it to make a difference. Jake was flung backward from the impact. Massive cracks were shown in the static shield I made for him and I could tell it wouldn’t last another hit. Before the monster could strike Jake while he was down, Grimm plunged his dagger into another of the Lava beast’s vital points.
Grimm has done 500 of 4,000 damage to level 35 Lava Golem
Due to the 50% damage resistance, the damage has been reduced to 250 of 4,000
Grimm retreated before the golem could turn around and smash him. Once Grimm officially got the aggro the mob, Jake was able to stand up and continue his attack using a skill called shield bash. Unfortunately, the attack did little damage and only succeeded in pissing off the mob even more. Turning around, the beast roared at Jake and charged. Observing the fight this whole time I decided it was time to step in and help before someone died.
Opening a hole in front of Jake, the beast tried to stop but was too late and fell on stone spike I cast at the bottom bringing it to half health. I didn’t expect the hole to hold the beast but I decided to use its weight against him and it couldn’t stop its fall into the spikes. While it started to climb out, I blasted it with lightning bringing it down to 1,500 and officially causing my mana pool to drain. Luckily my wisdom was high enough that I could regen 25 mana per second which also allowed me to regen my whole mana pool in roughly a minute and a half. The bad thing was the beast started chucking rocks covered in lava at me. After I narrowly avoided the second rock my luck ran out. My shoulder was smashed by a burning rock completely knocking me off my feet and taking my shield with it.
Seeing me on the ground, the lava monster tried to charge but found Jake in the way and another dagger stuck into its neck bringing it to 1,000. Swatting Grimm off its back, it turned to Jake and didn’t have time to block his sword stroke that stabbed right in-between its earthen plates straight into its chest shaving off the majority off its health.
Screaming in pain it straight punched Jake causing his magic shield to crumble and his health bar to go dangerously red. With his sword stuck in the beast chest, he didn’t have any option to retreat so with the little amount of mana I regenerated I shot a bolt of lightning trying to give time for Jakes retreat. As Jake came up to me we both stared at the steaming monster with lava flowing freely from its wounds. Looking at us in contempt, it smiled slowly knowing we were helpless and started slowly walking forward. Looking at each other we started grinning like fools as we saw a shadow flit behind the confident monster. As it raised its arm to smash us, two daggers appeared in its armpits and a third in its eye as it twirled around causing it to stutter forward with its arms stuck in the air. Taking two small steps towards Grimm, the lava monster finally collapsed in a pile of rubble as a flawless soul floated into my gem.
We all laughed knowing how close we came to dying but with Jake and Grimm reaching level 27, it was well worth it. We searched through the rubble and found two flawless earth essence gems and four flawless fire essence gems. Excited, Jake explained that these were used for enchanting and the fact that they were flawless made them a lot more effective than the lower tiers. Earth was mainly used for armor so I let Jake take both of those while Grimm and I split the fire essence gems, each of us getting two of them. After checking the floor for any more loot, none was found and we headed to the next floor.
A snowy landscape greeted us along
with many howls it the distance.
“Fucking wolves” I whispered getting questioning glances from Jake and Grimm.
Ignoring them I started forward with my short sword in hand ready to start practicing my new class. I might not be strong but I was definitely fast enough, not to mention I had more than adequate magic to save me.
I activated cloak of darkness almost completely disappearing in front of Jake and Grimm causing even our rogue Grimm to gasp at my ability to merge with darkness. Grimm followed my lead and we left Jake a little farther back so he wouldn’t give us away. The first we came upon surprised us. They weren’t wolves, but wolf men. Their body was covered in grey pelts, but they all held some form of weapon and stood on two legs. Sneaking around the perimeter of their camp I got rid of our scent with one of my first spells so they wouldn’t smell us. Grimm and I both “synced” up our clocks so we could strike at the same time. The wolf men were spread out among their camp allowing me to sneak up behind my first target. I drew a deep breath and saw the seconds count down. As the time limit ended, I sprung up swing ungracefully at the wolf man’s neck completely severing his head in a spray of blood. Yelping in surprise unlike the wolf man, I saw the others turn to me as Grimm took out another much more professionally. The wolf men started toward me, but a yell drew their aggro as and muscled warrior came yelling through the forest until he finally burst through the tree line. Casting earthen spike, two were nimbly dodged while the third one’s leg shattered in a spray of blood. Jake engaged both of the warriors and was quickly pushed back due to their level being 34. Grimm finished off the third wolf man and ran up behind one that Jake was fighting, trying to flank him. The mob I swung at spun around and blocked my swing with its spear at the last second and hit me with the end causing me to stumble backwards. Annoyed I tried to strike again but had no form and was rewarded with a spear that whizzed just by my head. Shouting at my inability I shot a lightning bolt at the wolf man causing a stun, and chopped halfway into his neck ending his annoying existence.
