I'll Never Love A Dope Boy Again 2
Page 12
“Huh?” Kamora said, finally breaking her silence after the nurse who had taken her urine sample walked back in.
“I said congratulations; you’re six weeks pregnant,” she repeated excitedly. Kamora sat there in shock. Being pregnant never crossed her mind, even though she knew she wasn’t on any birth control. Demetrius stood there smiling from ear to ear. He picked her up and kissed her. Kamora smiled at him when he put her down. She wanted to be happy, but she didn’t want to get her hopes up. The nurse noticed her mood and asked her if she was okay. She decided to be honest and explained what happened to her in the past. The nurse assured her that each pregnancy was different and told her to schedule an appointment with her OBGYN and to try not to stress over it. That made Kamora feel a little better.
“So, what brought on the panic attack?” Demetrius asked when they were finally in the room alone. They agreed to check Kamora out thoroughly and make sure everything was fine since she was scared, but the staff was called for an emergency so they had to sit and wait.
“Those eyes... I will never forget those eyes for as long as I live,” Kamora said with a mixture of anger and sadness.
“So, you telling me you know Jamal? How?” Demetrius asked stunned.
“I thought Brook said his name was Jay,” Kamora said, not answering the question that was asked. “Are you saying that’s your old friend Jamal?” Kamora continued in a shocked voice.
“We’ll get to all that later. How do YOU know him?” Demetrius said again in an attempt to steer the conversation back to where it was.
Kamora sighed, a tear slid down her cheek before she started talking. “That’s the man that killed Marquez,” she said accusingly, barely above a whisper.
“What the fuck?” Demetrius softly yelled, in order to keep his voiced down. He couldn’t believe this shit. His and Kamora’s lives were connected in more ways than one. When he noticed Kamora’s tears flowing, he went to her and wrapped his arms around her to comfort her. “It’s gonna be okay baby. I promise. Shhh,” he whispered as he continued to rock her.
After she calmed down, he pulled his phone out for the first time to send Peanut a text message and noticed he had one from him already. When he read the message, he couldn’t help but to say what the fuck again. “This shit makes so much fucking sense now!” he shouted as he stared at his phone, reading the message over and over again.
“What is it?” Kamora asked all concerned, pushing her problems to the side.
“This the nigga that’s been after us,” Demetrius simply told her. He didn’t want to go into great detail, since they were sitting in the hospital and she immediately understood.

“Yo, you tryna set me up or some shit?” Jay irately asked Brooklyn as soon as he gave the valet the ticket to go and get his truck. Before she could answer, he punched her in the eye.
“Arrgghhh!!” she let out a gut wrenching scream and fell backwards, hitting the concrete ground because it felt like her eyeball had been disconnected from its socket from that hard as blow.
“You said we was meeting a bitch. You didn’t say shit about that clown ass nigga being here,” Jay heatedly fumed and unapologetically kicked Brook repeatedly in the stomach. When he saw his truck rounding the corner, he picked her up and threw her in the bushes like she was garbage. After her head hit the concrete fountain, he stomped her a few more times and told her she was lucky he didn’t have his gun on him because he would have blown her got damn brains out. The valet pulled up and he jumped in his truck and left. Brook didn’t hear a word he said because she lost consciousness after her head connected with the fountain, and she was losing blood quickly.
“Oh my God! Is that a real person over there?” a lady screamed and asked her friend when she looked over at the beautiful fountain. “It is… call 911!” she immediately said after climbing in the bushes and reaching Brook. She was a nurse and felt for Brook’s pulse. “Her pulse is weak, and she’s lost a great deal of blood already. I’m about to start CPR,” she quipped. Sirens could be heard nearing the restaurant, and an ambulance pulled up a few minutes later. EMT’s loaded Brook onto the gurney and hooked her up. She was still unconscious when they took off.
************
Kamora was cleared to leave and when she was walking out with Demetrius right on her heels, she froze when she looked at the gurney being rolled in. “Baby, is that Brook? Please say it’s not!” Kamora said to Demetrius. He looked towards the direction Kamora was looking and told himself it did look like Brook. He didn’t want to answer out loud because he knew Kamora would become upset. When she started speed walking to chase the staff, he followed behind her. “What happened to her?” Kamora asked once she got close and noticed that it was indeed her cousin lying there. The staff was really too busy to answer her. When she heard one of them say hurry team, her pulse is steadily declining, her heart sank and she stopped dead in her tracks and hit the floor.
One of the staff members told Demetrius that they would be out to update them shortly. Kamora was distraught and Demetrius tried to comfort her. “Calm down baby… you don’t need to get yourself too upset. Remember you carrying my seed, and I need both of y’all to be okay,” he reminded her. They sat there for over an hour before someone finally came back out to update them.
“Are you guys the family of Brooklyn McDonald?” the doctor asked. Kamora looked up and shook her head yes, while Demetrius told him yes.
“As of right now, she is only breathing at thirty percent, so we had to put her on the ventilator, and she is in a medically induced coma. We are still running tests. We had to give her some blood because she lost quite a bit. Within a few hours, we should be able to tell which way this will go; for now, I would advise you to all pray. She also lost the baby,” the doctor gravely said. Kamora couldn’t stop her tears from flowing and Demetrius was stunned. He wondered just how much more his fiancée was going to have to go through. The doctor told them they would be able to visit with Brooklyn in the morning, and it was best that they try to get some rest for the night. Demetrius told the doctor thanks and silently wondered how in the hell he was going to get Kamora to leave and get some rest because he knew she would never volunteer to go home and leave Brook alone.
Chapter 26
“Fuck!! If I woulda had my Glock on me, I woulda deaded that lame ass nigga and the bitches,” Jay said while driving down the road and firing up some Kush. “I been tryna get that nigga forever. He’ll prolly never fall into my lap like that again,” Jay continued venting before thinking back to his younger years.
Demetrius and I were inseparable while growing up. He was just like a brother to me and his family treated me like I was their own son. We played ball together, but that nigga was always better than me. I tried to ignore my jealous ways, but the shit always overpowered me, no matter how hard I tried. This nigga had the perfect family, while I had a daddy who wasn’t shit and mama who hated me because I looked just like my no good daddy. She didn’t give a fuck about me, but she always complained that I spent too much time with Demetrius. “You ain’t gon ever be Demetrius with your black ugly ass. I don’t care how much you hang around him. He’s a good kid and he’s handsome. I don’t see why he hang around with a piece of shit like you anyway. And God wasted giving you a good pair of eyes with your ugly ass. He coulda gave them shits to somebody else. You gon be a sorry motherfucker just like ya no good got damn daddy,” my mom would say to me every chance she got. I hated that bitch and when she died, I didn’t have no fucks to give. I didn’t even go to the got damn funeral. Watching her trifling ass made me learn early on that these bitches ain’t shit. She was a hoe ass bitch and I knew all women were the same.
After Demetrius daddy died, I just knew that nigga was gonna break and I was hoping to be able to be the nigga that hoes was checking for, but that nigga turned into Smoke. I put him on to the niggas in the hood, let him make money hooping, and he just had to take over the streets when that was s
upposed to me. The day I made an anonymous call to the cops when I knew the connect we had on our payroll was out of pocket, I just knew it was about to be my time to shine. That nigga was supposed to be gone for life. When I heard he was getting out soon, I had no choice but to jump ship because I had abandoned his ass as soon as he got locked up. When he went in and got to the stash, I was even more pissed off because I knew there should have been more money. The nigga must not have trusted me like a brother after all. Shit got hot in our normal area and a nigga wasn’t tryna go to jail, so I had to switch it up.
I became known as Jay to the streets when I changed locations; Jamal was long gone. The niggas that was down with Demetrius didn’t trust my ass and I felt like they was plotting, so I dipped without warning, but I had a plan to get all of them niggas back one by one. When the infamous Smoke took back over the streets shortly after he got out of jail, I slowly put a plan together. My team was content and didn’t understand my motive for wanting all of them niggas dead, but it wasn’t their got damn business. I just needed them to follow mu’fuckin suit. We started hitting up all of their spots and made it look like it was them damn New Orleans niggas. I took pride in taking Lucky’s black ass out myself. I almost sent the crew that day and stayed back, but I was glad I didn’t because I would have missed that opportunity.
Normally, I had everything figured out and had all of my shit calculated, but I had no idea Brooklyn’s bitch ass had any kinda connections with Smoke. I swear, if I would have had my gun, I would have blown her muthafuckin brains out. The look on that bitch nigga Smoke’s face was priceless though. I can’t wait to take that nigga out, but I gotta get to Brooklyn first.
Ding Ding.
That sound brought Jay out of his thoughts and he realized he was low on gas. Luckily, he was coming up on an exit, so he switched lanes so that he could exit. As Jay was pumping gas at the Chevron station, he saw the face of a person he hadn’t seen in years walking out of the store. “Is that you, Flint?” Jay asked when he hung the gas pump back up. The guy squinted his eyes and walked towards Jay.
“Is that you, Jamal?” the man asked.
“Hell yeah, but it’s Jay now, not Jamal.” While he was dapping Flint up, a bright idea popped into his head because he knew that nigga was a hot head. “What you doing down here man? Demetrius told me yo pussy ass ran back up north where you came from,” Jay continued. Flint mean mugged Jay, letting him know he didn’t like that smart ass comment.
“You was the pussy who used to run up behind Demetrius, if my memory serves me correct nigga,” Flint chuckled.
“That nigga a snake. Word on the street when you left was that he was the one that dimed you out. I cut ties wit that nigga,” Jay said, trying to bait Flint up.
“Word?” Flint said with his mind racing a mile per minute.
“Word my nigga,” Jay replied eagerly. “But anyway, it was good running into ya nigga… stay up,” he said and stepped around Flint to walk into the store.
“Hold up nigga. Take my number down and hit me up later. I’m only gon be down here bout a week, so holla at me. I might wanna dust a nigga before I leave,” Flint declared. That was music to Jay’s ears. He pulled his phone out and programmed Flint’s number in his phone and saved it as Pussy Ass Flint, smiled, and walked off smiling.
When Jay walked back out of the store, Flint was gone. Jay hopped back into his truck, grabbed his phone, and speed dialed a number. “What’s up baby?” he asked when she answered.
“Don’t baby me now nigga,” she replied and he chuckled into the phone.
“Don’t be like that girl. You at our spot? I’m bout to come through,” he told her.
“Yeah, whatever boy,” she said and hung up.
Stacey was the only woman who could talk shit to him and get away with it, and he still couldn’t figure out why he let her. There was no bitch that could dismiss him and talk to him like she did, which was why he only kicked it with her ever so often. He told himself it was good that she lived a couple of hours away because he didn’t need to see her too much. They met about a year back at a store when he was passing through Augusta. He tried to flash his money in her face and realized he made a mistake. She cussed him out and left his ass standing there looking stupid. Jay made it his business to track her down. Ever since then, he would meet up with her and dick her down about every other month when she could get away.
Jay pulled up to the Hilton about forty-five minutes later and went straight up to the room he knew she would be waiting. When he walked in, he found Stacey lying across the bed sleep. “If you don’t wake yo ass up,” Jay said after he kicked his shoes off and pulled his shirt over his head.
“What you do with your fiancée nigga?” Stacey asked when she rolled over. “Never mind… don’t even answer,” she continued dramatically, thinking about how she really didn’t give a fuck. Jay grabbed her legs and pulled her towards him. He knew she wanted the dick since she was still there and especially since she was lying in bed naked, faking sleep.
“If you don’t let me…” Stacey started saying, but her words were replaced with moans when she felt Jay’s skilled tongue on her clit. “Mmm… you better eat this pussy boy,” she groaned. He loved it when she talked shit to him; it made him go into beast mode. He ate her until she came in his mouth. He raised himself up, pulled his pants and boxers off, and lifted Stacey’s legs up. “Wait… if you don’t put on a damn condom nigga!” she told him. He laughed and reached into his wallet and grabbed a condom to roll on.
“You know you wanna feel this dick raw girl,” he teased her.
“Nigga, if you don’t shut the hell up and put that condom on, then come fuck me,” Stacey said while rolling her eyes. After he put it on, he slid into her and gave her exactly what she wanted. Over and over again until both of them passed out.
Chapter 27
Just as Demetrius thought, Kamora wouldn’t leave Brooklyn’s side. He ended up leaving and going to check on D’Mani, but not before taking Kamora to get something to eat and pretty much force feeding her. Demetrius couldn’t wait to get a moment alone, so he could call Peanut or, better yet, go and see him, but Kamora was his number one priority at the moment. After much begging, they finally agreed to allow Kamora to go and see Brook.
Demetrius had his arm around her waist as they were led to the critical care unit. They made their way in and Brook was just lying there. Kamora looked at the numbers on the machines and inquired the meaning to each of them. The nurse explained everything, as it was all still a blur to both Kamora and Demetrius. “So, what exactly happened and what’s wrong? I don’t wanna hear it in doctor terms either,” Kamora pointed out.
“She was beaten pretty badly. She was four weeks pregnant and was kicked repeatedly in the stomach and pelvic area. The kicks to her caused internal bleeding, which is why we had to give her blood. It looks like her head was banged on some form of concrete, and she lost consciousness immediately. I know it sounds horrible and, it is, but I’ve seen worse cases than this,” the nurse said soothingly to Kamora. “I’ll let you all visit for just a few more minutes, then I’m going to have to ask you all to leave. I’ll be right back,” she continued and walked out of the door.
“Why the fuck would he beat her like that? What did she do that fast?” Kamora solemnly asked.
“That nigga did that because he couldn’t get to me. His mind is fucked up. If I had to guess, he probably thought Brook was setting him up or some shit,” Demetrius griped. Kamora stood there shaking her head. “He gon pay for every muthafuckin thang he’s done,” Demetrius assured Kamora.
“If you don’t handle him, I will!” Kamora stated matter of factly while walking out of Brook’s room.
A little after ten o’clock the next morning, Kamora’s phone rang and it was Stacey. “Damn, I forgot I was supposed to meet her for lunch,” Kamora mumbled before answering. She was planning on visiting Brook at ten, but her body wouldn’t allow her to get up so she was aiming for the two
o’clock visit.
“Bitch, are you still sleep? Stacey asked after Kamora finally answered.
“Girl… I had a long ass night and honestly forgot all about our lunch date. We might have to reschedule,” Kamora protested.
“Nope, we ain’t rescheduling. I stayed in town. I’m gonna see your ass, even if I gotta come to your house now,” Stacey told her adamantly.
“I’m gonna have to get back to the hospital to check on Brook. Her next visitation is at two o’clock. If I get up now, we can meet at eleven thirty,” Kamora retorted. Stacey told her she wanted to eat at The Cheesecake Factory and Kamora told her that was fine.
Demetrius went out to handle some business and D’Mani was spending the rest of the weekend with Nikki, so Kamora only had to worry about herself. After brushing her teeth, she turned on the shower, took off her sleeping clothes, and rubbed her stomach. She couldn’t help but to smile. Briefly thinking about Marquez, she told herself that it must not have been meant to be back then and found comfort in those words. “Life is crazy,” she said, then stepped into the shower. When Kamora got out of the shower, she threw on some Rock Revival jeans and fitted tee, her black Converse, put her hair up in a messy bun, grabbed her phone and purse, and was out of the door. She had twenty minutes to get to her destination.
Kamora called Demetrius while she was on her way and let him know her plans for the next few hours. He told her that he would call her after the hour of visitation was over. They chatted for a few more minutes, then told each other “I love you” and hung up as Kamora was parking. Stacey was walking in as Kamora parked, so she texted and told her that she was right behind her. “Heeyyy girl!!” Stacey chimed while hugging Kamora after she walked in. “Look at that damn ring… you need a body guard with that big ass thing girl!” Stacey continued.
