When the elevator arrived, Jason stepped in, followed by the two guys.
“Hold it for a second!” Kiel’s voice echoed in the corridor.
Jason stuck his head out of the elevator and saw Kiel running like crazy. Kiel darted into the elevator and said, “Thanks, guys!”
The two guys nodded at Kiel with ice cold faces.
“Is everything OK?” Jason asked.
“Yea, it’s fine. I am trying to take a look at the Glycan combat vessel. It is closing to our fleet.” Kiel said calmly and winked at Jason.
“I will take a look after I get off this.” Jason said easily. He sensed something was wrong.
All of a sudden, Kiel took a swipe at the guy next to him and punched him down. Jason kicked the other guy on the belly and hit his head with a knee, knocking the guy unconscious.
“Those Glycans must be here for you. Is this about your Glycan girlfriend?” Kiel said hastily.
“Yea, maybe but not in a good way.” Jason said in a joking tone.
“Let me guess she has a Glycan boyfriend?” Kiel said as he hit the button for the hangar level.
“Something like that.” Jason said with a bitter smile.
“I can understand how he feels.” Kiel chuckled.
“Why help me?” Jason asked seriously.
“Well, you know, not many human can score a Glycan girlfriend.” Kiel said easily.
When the elevator arrived, they both dashed out, heading straight to the hangar.
“Now listen, you need to threw away everything. I will get my jet ready.” Kiel said hastily.
Jason hauled a dirty mechanic suit from a trash can, stripped off all his clothes and put on the mechanic suit. Those mechanics looked at him in confusion.
“Did you throw away everything?” Kiel asked as he ran to Jason.
“Only one thing. My girlfriend’s badge.” Jason said hastily.
“Give it to me.” Kiel said firmly.
“But…”
“Give it to me now!” Kiel interrupted Jason.
Jason took out the badge from the pocket and handed to Kiel hesitatingly.
“You take my jet and I will take yours. Good luck, my friend!” Kiel said hastily as he took over the badge.
“You will die, Kiel.” Jason said emotionally.
“Man, you gotta have some faith in me. Alright?” Kiel said easily.
They both climbed into the jets and headed out.
Chapter 171
Klaycon didn’t waste a second after he learned where Jason was. He asked Neiteo for a favor and Neiteo contacted the Human Second fleet and requested them to locate Jason. At the same time, Klaycon and his friends took out one Glycan combat vessel from the training center and headed to Human Second fleet. When the vessel was approaching the Carrier Michael Stonan, Zier reported, “The commander of the Human Second fleet just said they were bringing Jason to the bridge right now.”
“Very well. Start the docking procedure.” Klaycon said hastily.
After the vessel docked with the Carrier, Klaycon quickly made his way to the bridge and shouted, “Where is he?” Zier and Nissen were following behind Klaycon.
“Oh, May I ask who you are?” Aronic, the commander of the Human Second fleet, asked patiently.
“My name is Klaycon. Now where is Jason Marton?”Klaycon asked impatiently.
“We received a transmission from the deputy chief of Glycan Seventh fleet. He asked us for assistance to find Jason Marton. Before we proceed, I need to know what your business with him is.”
“It’s personal.” Klaycon said coldly.
“In this case, I need to know this personal matter.” Aronic said in a hard voice.
“Let’s me get this straight. You probably don’t understand your position here. We are first species and we are not here to negotiate with you. If you don’t take our order, we have to do it in a hard way.” Klaycon said firmly.
“I see. Well, I have to point out that you only have one combat vessel which is now docked with this carrier. I like to see how you do it in a hard way.” Aronic said casually.
“Tell them to get closer so that Human can see them.” Klaycon said to Zier.
Zier relayed the order right away.
“Check your radar now.” Klaycon said carelessly.
Aronic glanced over at the radar and saw the incoming Glycan vessels cover the entire screen. Shocked and baffled, Aronic casted his eyes down.
“You see, we can attack you before you can even see us. Now do I need to ask them to shoot something to demonstrate my resolve?” Klaycon asked in a relaxed tone.
“It won’t be necessary.” Aronic said sheepishly.
“Then, where the fuck is Jason Marton?” Klaycon shouted.
“We are bringing him as we speak. I don’t know why it is taking this long.” Aronic said in a low voice.
“I can’t hear you.” Klaycon snarled.
“We are bringing him here now. It takes longer than I expected.”
“Call them.”
Aronic followed Klaycon’s order and soon found out that Jason had left the carrier.
When Klaycon heard this, he punched Aronic on his face. Several officers in the bridge jumped out of their seats and fought with Klaycon. But none of them could match Klaycon. After several seconds, they all ended up lying on the deck.
“Anyone else?” Klaycon asked in a hard voice.
It was dead quiet in the bridge.
“Now if I couldn’t find Jason, everyone here will die. So?” Klaycon said coldly.
“Every jet has a tracer on board. We can locate his jet really quick.” An officer said.
“Track him down, now!” Klaycon yelled at that officer.
The officer quickly logged into the system and pinpointed Jason’s location. At the same time, Zier recorded all the information. Then Klaycon and his friends went back to their vessel and caught up with Jason’s jet within minutes.
“Klaycon, we have visual.” Nissen said happily.
Klaycon could see the jet from the bridge. He flashed an evil smile and said, “Ready missiles.”
“What if someone else is piloting his jet?” Zier asked.
“At this distance, can we scan the family badge?” Klaycon asked.
“Yes, that is a good idea.” Nissen said and immediately scanned the jet for G family badge. It returned with a hit.
“There is a G family badge on that Jet.” Nissen said excitedly.
“Finally, this time we will finish him once for all. Fire everything.” Klaycon sighed.
More than 50 missiles blasted off from the vessel, heading to the jet.
“Target locked. Five seconds.”
“Three, two, one.”
The missiles exploded right upon the jet. The glistening explosions lightened up the surroundings.
Klaycon watched the explosions carefully and said, “Confirm the death.”
“Hit by that many missiles. I don’t think there will be anything left.” Zier said.
Klaycon gave Zier an angry stare.
“Right away.” Zier said quickly.
However, Zier was right. After hours of search, they couldn’t find a piece of flesh. But Klayon didn’t give up. He was determined to make sure Jason was dead this time. They spent three days collecting every debris piece.
On the fourth day, Zier rushed to the bridge and said, “I got something.” He handed Klaycon a defaced badge.
“This is Gloria’s badge.” Klaycon murmured as he examined the badge carefully.
“Exactly.” Zier said happily.
Klaycon thought for several seconds and said, “Well done. Let’s go home.”
Chapter 172
It had been a month since Jason started his new life on this planet. He didn’t even know where he was. The moment he left the carrier his only thought was to run as far as possible. After hours of flight, he saw this yellow and red planet. The red was the color of endless forest and swamp. The air was breathable, even though
it had the rotten smell all the time. Surviving in the wild wasn’t a problem for Jason. He captured birds, reptiles, fishes and small animals with traps or arrows. For the reason Jason couldn’t know, they all tasted like chicken. Jason also learned that if he ate too much meat, it gave him unstoppable gas, so he collected fruits from time to time.
In case of lodging, he slept in the cockpit for the first several days. Then he built a small tent with branches and logs. The first night in the tent wasn’t a very good experience. He found out that water seeped out of ground and it could reach a meter high before the dawn. Jason later built another tent with a higher base.
After solving the food and lodging issues, he started to think how to get to Gloria. He missed her all the time. Now he didn’t have the badge, so he couldn’t even think about calling her. He missed his father and his friends as well. He could only wish them well.
It was just another boring day. Jason was feeding the rabbit like creatures he captured in the traps. The slowly-approaching humming sound alerted Jason. He looked up at the sky. The yellow clouds trod leisurely with their edges being gold-plated by the light. He listened carefully, but there was nothing. Then he laughed at himself for this illusion. Several minutes later, the humming sound came again and this time it was much louder. Jason saw an enormous vessel slowly descending through clouds. As he was wondering where this thing came from, a small transporter left the vessel and touched down on the ground. Then someone stepped out of the transporter.
“Lisania?” Jason murmured in shock.
Lisania stood still for a second and then ran to Jason. At the same time, Jason ran to her. They hugged each other like old friends.
“Jason. I miss you. I miss you so much.” Lisania said emotionally.
“I miss you too.” Jason said excitedly.
“Do you know how difficult to find you?” Lisania whined in a naughty voice.
“I wasn’t expecting anyone would find me.” Jason joked.
“How are you doing?”
“As you can see, I am surviving. You know how difficult to kill me.”
“Yea, tell me about it.”
“How about you?”
“After you saved me, I took the control of the army. I am sorry it took me this long.” Lisania said sadly. She went ahead and told Jason the battles she went through. She killed all the generals in the central committee. It wasn’t easy and it took her several months to finally have everything under control. She held Jason tightly and said, “Jason, I love you. I always do. Now I have the control of Hylocan. Come with me!”
“Lisania, I can’t.” Jason said firmly.
“Because of Gloria?”
“Yes.”
“You don’t even know whether she is alive or not.”
“I will find out. Actually I plan to go to see her.”
“What?” Lisania asked in confusion.
“I plan to go to Sylareon.” Jason said calmly.
“You somehow think you can even get close to that planet with what you have right now.” Lisania said seriously.
“Actually I can use some help from you.”
“I will help you to see a girl that I hate? She is my enemy.” Lisania said in a hard voice.
“Whether you help me or not, I will go to see her!” Jason said firmly.
“Jason, please. Please come with me. Don’t you feel my love for you? I killed my own kind so that I can come to see you. Do you have any idea how much trouble I went through just to find you? Jason, please come with me. Please.” Lisania said in a begging tone.
“Lisania, you are always my friend. I always like you. But I can’t. I love Gloria. I know it and you know it.” Jason said emotionally.
Lisania looked into Jason’s eyes for several seconds. She didn’t need to read Jason’s mind to know he loved Gloria.
“Jason, I love you.” Lisania said as she put Jason’s hand on her chest.
“I am sorry.” Jason said coldly and pulled his hand back.
They fell into silence. Lisania cried, red tears rolling down her silk like skin, her hands shaking out of control.
Jason didn’t know what to say. They just sat there for several minutes.
“So this is it.” Lisania said as she wiped away her tears.
Jason nodded.
“After this, we will never meet again.” Lisania said decisively.
“I know.”
“Jason, think about your life. Coming with me is your best option. We will have everything we want. Please.” Lisania begged again.
“Sorry.” Jason said and turned his head away.
Lisania stood up slowly and walked to the transporter. Before she stepped into the transporter, she looked at Jason one last time, still hoping he would change his mind.
Jason looked at her and let out a long sigh.
Lisania got on the transporter and left.
Chapter 173
Lisania stared at the yellow and red planet from the bridge. This wasn’t the result she expected. Outside as a queen, she couldn’t never show any weak sign. But inside as a girl, she could feel that her heart was breaking into pieces. The moment she saw Jason with her own eyes, her heart almost jumped out of the chest. Now all the efforts she dedicated was nothing but a daydream. She replayed what Jason said in her head and cried inside. For a second, she thought about going back there and begged Jason again. However, she knew Jason had made up his mind. Lisania sighed, a tear leaking from her eyes. She quickly wiped it away before anyone saw it. Then she turned around and caught the two generals standing in the distance. She had no idea how long they had been there. She cleared her throat and said, “We are leaving.”
“Yes, my queen. Right away! There is just one thing.” One general said politely.
“What? Swatwin.” Lisania asked.
“My queen, you are not going to believe this. While you were on that planet, you got a visitor, a Glycan.” Swatwin said in surprise.
“How can that be possible?” Lisania asked.
“This is not just any Glycan. He is the ousted king Liutein.” The other general said.
“Where is he right now?”
“Oranka and I decided to bring him aboard and we locked him up in a cell.” Sawtwin said cautiously as he glanced over at Oranka.
“Any contact in this area after we found him?” Lisania asked.
“No, the scope and radar is clear.” Oranka said.
“How did he find us?” Lisania murmured.
“We asked him that. He said he would only talk to the queen.” Swatwin said carefully.
Lisania thought for several seconds and said, “Did you find any tracer in his body?”
“No.” Oranka said.
“I will see him.” Lisania said and headed out.
Several minutes later, Lisania arrived at the cell holding Liutein, followed by Swatwin and Oranka.
Liutein was standing leisurely behind the bar. He was young and handsome. Lisania now believed the rumor that the then king chose him as successor because of his face. Lisania was also surprised at how calm Liutein was.
“It’s a pleasure to meet the Oracle.” Liutein said politely.
“How do you know I am the Oracle?”
“Your eyes are different.”
“The queen is busy and she sent me.” Lisania said calmly.
“You are not a very good liar.”
Lisania read Liutein’s mind and she knew he was thinking she was the queen.
“Do you want to just read my brain or we can talk?” Liutein asked politely.
“You got a lot of balls to show up here.” Lisania said coldly.
“I have been waiting for this moment for a while.” Lutein said in a relaxed tone.
“How did you find us?”
“Jason Marton. I guess the queen loved him so much that she gave him the ring.”
Lisania gave Liutein an angry stare and said, “It is funny to hear a toppled king talk like this.”
“I thought the queen
of Hylocan should be more interested in why I am here rather than how I get here.” Liutein said easily.
“Let me guess what we can get from a flower boy king?” Lisania asked ironically.
“How about two billion army?” Liutein said confidently.
Through reading his mind, Lisania knew Liutein was serious and she also learned Liutein had the control of Human president and planned to get this two billion soldiers from Human.
“Keep dreaming.” Lisania chuckled.
“If you read my mind, you know I am not dreaming. Three days from now, a fleet will rescue all Hylocans on Hylocan reserve.”
This suddenly grabbed Lisania’s attention.
“You simply think two billion Human will do anything. Kid, war is not boxing.” Swatwin said in disgust.
“Very true. But with the technologies to weaponize the dark energy, will that make a difference?” Liutein asked nicely.
Lisania and the two generals knew very well that only Glycan had that technologies and the very best example was Gaza cannon.
“So you are here to join us? Are you really that stupid? Do you have any idea how many Hylocans were killed by Glycan? You think we will work together?” Swatwin said angrily.
“We can deal with that after we eliminate the nine species.”
“You want to kill your own kind.” Lisania said calmly.
“Once we start it, it cannot be avoided.”
Lisania flashed a brittle smile and said, “That is your point. You want to revenge as well.”
“They are no longer my people. I am no longer their king.” Liutein said slowly.
“I will give you three days.” Lisania said and left.
Chapter 174
With Zier, Nissen and Carila on board, Klaycon maneuvered a small space vessel, flying into a huge hole in Sylareon. The hole was the entrance to the cavern, the cemetery of the 17 families. After descending some 50 kilometers, the vessel flew into an enormous cavern the size of a megacity. The light emitting from countless crystals illuminated the entire place. Each crystal in this cavern represented a dead Glycan. In Glycan’s world, when one deceased, the body would be brought to an underground location. As the ground absorbed flesh and bones, the crystals from different organs merged into one. When the body was gone, the crystal started to shine. Only the 17 families enjoyed the privileges to bury their body deep into Sylareon.
