“No. I mean, yes.” Hayden fumbled with his glasses and wiped away the tears that made his vision swim. It was useless, there were more tears to take their place. He was grinning so wide it was difficult to talk. He was sure Neal, and everyone else, could hear his heart hammering. “I mean, no, I don’t have to think about anything, and yes, I’ll marry you.”
Neal laughed softly. “That’s good or else I was about to be a huge fool.”
“No, no, you’d never be—” Hayden’s words were cut off when Neal pulled him in for a kiss.
“Hey, you two, you’ve got guests you know,” Jake shouted from across the deck.
Hayden sat back and far enough away from Neal their contact was broken. He wiped two fingers over his lips. “Think we should tell them now?”
“It’s your day. So it’s up to you.”
Hayden stood up and held one hand out to Neal so he could pull himself out of the chair as well. He held Neal’s hand, and they stood side by side.
“We, Neal and I, have something important to announce,” Hayden said, voice slightly raised to get the attention of his parents and siblings. “We… um… we’re… uh….”
“You’re getting married, aren’t you?” Kerry asked.
Hayden lost his voice, and all he could do was swallow the lump that unexpectedly formed in his throat and nod.
His mother giggled and rushed forward. Putting her hands on either side of Hayden’s face, she kissed his forehead and hugged him before reaching for Neal. “Come here, you!”
In the next minute they were surrounded, everyone hugging and talking at once, making suggestions and plans. Royce and Marty got in on the excitement, barking and prancing around the group.
“And so begins the real merger of Owens and Kirchner,” Neal said in Hayden’s ear.
Hayden leaned against Neal, then hooked one arm around his neck and rocked up on his toes to give Neal a deep, passionate kiss that earned them good-natured catcalls and clapping.
“We’ve got something very rare and special,” Hayden said softly.
Neal wound one arm around Hayden’s waist and held him tightly while he announced, “Hayden Owens, I’m never letting you go.”
Nothing could’ve made Hayden happier, and he chimed in, “Neal Kirchner, I’m keeping you forever!”
Mystery, action, chills, and thrills spiced with romance and desire. ELIZABETH NOBLE started telling stories before she actually knew how to write, and her family was very happy when she learned to put words on a page. Those words turned into books and fan fiction that turned into a genuine love of M/M romance fiction. Being able to share her works with Dreamspinner is really a dream come true. She has a real love for a good mystery complete with murder and twisty plots as well as all things sci-fi, futuristic, and supernatural and a bit of an unnatural interest in a super-volcano in Wyoming.
Elizabeth has three grown children and is now happily owned by an adorable mixed-breed canine princess and her sidekick tabby cat. Elizabeth lives in her native northeast Ohio, the perfect place for gardening and winter and summer sports (go Tribe and Cavs!) and stargazing all year long. When she’s not writing, she’s working as a veterinary nurse, so don’t be surprised to see her men with a pet or three who are a very big part of their lives.
Elizabeth received several amateur writing awards. Since being published, several of her novels have received Honorable Mentions in the Rainbow Awards. Jewel Cave was a runner-up in the Gay Mystery/Thriller category in the 2015 Rainbow Awards. Ringed Love was a winner in the Gay Fantasy Romance category of the 2016 Rainbow Awards.

Dreamspun Desires #49
Prelude to Love by Anne Barwell
Music speaks directly to the heart.
Two very different men face turning points in their lives after the collapse of long-term relationships. Joel is a music teacher who knows it’s time to forget his ex and move on, while Marcus runs a lawn-mowing business. He’s come to Wellington to escape the constant reminders of a bad breakup. They’re opposites, but when Joel and Marcus connect through a friend, their romance has the potential to hit all the right notes.
Too bad neither of them feels ready for new love.
With family and friends in common, dating is risky—things could get messy if it doesn’t work out. The sweet song of possibility draws them to each other, though, and they share a kiss following a Chopin Prelude. But a happily ever after is far from guaranteed—not when one of them will have to make sacrifices for the other’s future.
