Dixon, of course, got pissed at me again because I told him Savannah wants to go to her parents’ house in Los Angeles for a little while to try and clear her head and hopefully track down Nadia and Giselle.
I seriously can't catch a break. All of this is happening at the worst possible moment. I love Dixon. I'm afraid all of this will drive him away and back to his man-whoring ways.
After a week of talking to some of my model friends, I found out both Giselle and Nadia are in fact in Los Angeles. One of them gave me her cell number, but she has sent all my calls straight to voice mail and refused to return any of them.
No shocker there. The home-wrecking tramp can’t face us and tell us the truth about what happened. She’d rather destroy other people’s lives just to help a friend.
I'm hoping fate will finally be on our side and help us find the answers Savannah needs so, she and Kayden can move on with their lives together. After talking with her a few days after the article went live, Savannah agreed she thought it all sounds fishy. But until she hears from Nadia herself, she can't go back to Texas.
Jax and Dixon both texted me letting me know Kayden is trying to keep it together and give Savannah the space she needs, but he looks like shit after baking in the hot Texas sun all day.
He's been texting her every single day telling her he loves her and that none of the accusations are true. I hate seeing two people I care about hurting because of someone else’s selfishness.
Savannah and I are just leaving the set of As the Days Go By when my phone starts vibrating in my back pocket. I still have my ringer off so have no idea who it could be. Pulling my phone out, a small smile stretches across my face when I see it’s a text from Xander. Even though we’re keeping things platonic, we still catch up here and there. I love hearing about his life on the road as a rock star. He’s going to be famous one day I know it.
Xander:
R U in LA?
I quickly type back a reply as I climb into Savannah’s mother’s car that we’re using while here. Savannah shifts it into reverse and heads towards Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills. We have a lunch date with Reagan before going home and getting ready to go out to Vertigo tonight.
Me:
Sure am! I’m heading to lunch now then Vertigo tonight 4 some drinks & dancing. U in the city of Angels 2??
Xander:
Sure am. We have a concert here tomorrow at the House of Blues. I didn't know if you wanted me to set a ticket aside 4 u?
I text him back telling him ‘hell yes!’ Before letting him know we were almost to the café so I’d text him later on tonight to get all the details.
A few hours later we’re walking into the club after having a cab drop us off. There’s no way in hell I’m parking in that fucking parking garage anytime soon after what happened with Zak.
My phone goes off alerting me of a text from Xander.
Xander:
Tickets r all set. C U 2morrow night.
I’m about to text him back when Savannah shouts at me over the music, “Who are you texting?”
“Xander.” Ignoring the shocked look on her face, I push through the crowd of people. Finally, after what feels like an eternity, we make it to the bar. “Two bottles of Twisted Tea, please!” I shout to the bartender over the music.
Handing Savannah her Twisted Tea, I try to brush off Savannah’s question because I know she’s going to overreact and take this all the wrong way. She still thinks I’m all on the get serious with Jax bandwagon. God she’s going to kill me when she finds out I hooked up with Dixon in Maui. I need to talk to Jax once and for all first thing tomorrow. It’s time to put on my big girl panties.
“Brooklyn! Why are you texting Xander? I thought things with Jax were getting serious?” God, is she ever persistent!
Letting out a loud sigh, I climb onto a stool at the bar. “He’s in L.A. for a concert and texted me asking if we would be in L.A. Sunday night. If we want to go, he’ll set tickets aside for us at the door, along with some backstage passes.”
“Oh. I guess it could be fun, as long as you can behave yourself. Don’t go all crazy. I know what a sucker you are for hot, sweaty rockers. A backstage pass spells danger…maybe we should skip on those?”
Is she smoking fucking crack?!
“Hell no! I want to meet the other band they’re opening for! I love them! And you know the only rocker I would go all fan girl on and jump his bone’s backstage is Jared Leto.” Winking at her, I slide off of the stool and give her an impish grin before downing the rest of my drink. A small smile cracks across her face as I wave bye with my jazz fingers and sashay onto the dance floor.
A short while later, I dragged the hottie I’ve been dancing with to pass the time to the bar for more drinks. Can’t argue with free drinks. He thinks he’ll be getting some later, but sadly the only action he’ll get tonight is from his hand unless he finds another girl in the club willing to go home with him.
I spot Savannah, and what looks like the Shayne dude from last Halloween that she hooked up with. I dragged her over to the bar, and she watched stunned as I climbed up onto the bar shouting, “Body shots!”
She should know me by now to know I was placed on this earth to have a good time!
With a lot of fighting between her and me, I finally got her to get up on the bar and let Shayne do one off of her. It’s just a shot for Christ sake that he’s taking from her belly button. It’s not like he’s sucking Jack and Coke out of her fucking vagina.
She blushed a hundred different shades of red as he licked the amber liquor from her stomach. I laughed my ass off for a good whole minute.
I left Savannah sitting at the bar because I got a text from a friend who’s hanging out partying in VIP. My blood is immediately bubbling as I push my way up the stairs.
Now here I am standing in VIP with my jaw lying on the damn floor as I take in the horrendous site of Logan sitting with Giselle on his lap. That’s right. Bitchface, drama starting, Giselle is sitting on Savannah’s cheating piece of shit ex-boyfriend!
I stomped my way back down to the bar to find Savannah.
“Savannah! Get your ass over here now! You gotta see this!” I shout at her, running as fast as I can through the sea of bodies pushing my way over to her.
Taking her hand, I pull me off of the barstool and drag her up the stairs to the VIP section. The second we get to the top of the stairs, Savannah freezes beside me.
“What the fuck!?” Savannah shrieks, as she stares at the disgusting display of affection going on right now between Giselle and Logan.
“That’s what I said!” I say with disgust in my voice before releasing Savannah’s hand and stomp across the VIP section.
I’m seeing red as I storm towards them. I hear Savannah running behind me, but all I am focused on is the bitch who I know is the reason for my best friend’s hell she’s been living through this last week.
Giselle looks up at me in shock as recognition quickly flashes in her eyes. Not giving her a second to react I grab her by the hair and yank her off of Logan’s lap.
“You nasty little slut!” I shout at her before slapping the stupid bitch across the face and tossing her down onto the couch. She whips her head towards Logan, holding her hand in the air at him. “She fucking hit me! Aren’t you going to do something?” She yells at him with her stupid French accent evident.
I glare down at him, “Don’t you fucking move unless you want to spend the next hour fishin’ your balls out of your stomach!”
“Holy shit! What the fuck is going on?” Shayne asks, finally catching up to us.
I hear Savannah tell him, “That is the woman we think helped set the plan in motion, to set up Kayden to look like he cheated on me.” She says with venom laced words. “Hold my drink, would ya?” Savannah says, handing him her drink, and taking quick strides over to Giselle.
“Where’s your phone?!” She shouts at her, jamming her finger into Giselle’s chest as she stands beside me. We’re a
united front against this bitch. She isn’t leaving here until we get some answers.
“What?” She asks, staring up at us with a dumb look on her face. Her perfectly styled hair is now disheveled, and I can’t help but laugh as she attempts to fix her hair now.
“Do I need to spell it out for you? Get. Your. Phone! I want you to call your little friend Nadia and tell her this charade ends now! I want her to tell me the truth, or so help me I’ll beat it the fuck out of you!” Savannah shouts down at her.
“She’s…here…at Vertigo!” Giselle stumbles over her words, whipping her head around to look at the crowd of people now watching us.
“The last time I saw her…she was heading to the ladies' room.”
I’m not going to sit here and play games. We need to get this shit settled now. I step around Savannah and lean down into Giselle’s face. “Get Nadia back up to VIP…NOW, because we’re going to have a nice friendly chat with her, finally clear this whole thing up.”
Logan looks like he’s about ready to shit his pants. I love it. The asshole more than likely had something to do with this. It has his sleazy ass written all over it. He can’t have Savannah so he’ll do whatever he can to make her life a living hell. I never thought it was possible to hate another human being as much as I hate him. But if his pathetic ass were struck by a bus tomorrow, I’d throw a freaking party.
After what feels like an eternity, we finally spot Nadia walking back up to the VIP lounge. Her eyes just about pop out of her head when she spots Savannah and me standing beside Giselle and Logan’s table.
“I don’t want any trouble!” Nadia yells, backing away from us. We’ve attracted the attention of pretty much every single person in the VIP lounge. I can only imagine the shit that’ll be all over the news after tonight.
“Hold it, bimbo Barbie! You’re not going anywhere,” I yell as I charge towards her. “You’re going to sit your ass down and have a little talk with us.”
It wasn’t an easy task getting that chick to spill the beans, but after threatening to tear her extensions out one by one, she finally confessed everything.
Just like I thought, Logan and Giselle were the masterminds behind the entire thing. Going as far as paying off Kayden’s assistant to let them know when he was going to be in Paris so they could “accidentally” run into him at the hotel bar.
We were in shock as her confession sank in. I cannot believe people can be so envious of someone else’s happiness that they’d go this far to try and destroy everything they’ve worked so hard to accomplish.
I called Dixon later that night telling him about everything that happened and that first thing tomorrow we’d be boarding a plane for Vegas. I made him promise me he’d not let Kayden know we’re on our way. We know they’re there for a guy’s bachelor weekend, but this can’t wait.
Savannah and Kayden need to see each other so they can talk about all of this and get back to their normal lives. I promised Dixon as soon as my feet hit Nevada I’ll be finding Jax and talking to him. Because I plan on spending my time in Vegas making up for the two weeks, we’ve not been able to be together. He laughed when I said I was suffering from a serious case of Dixie Stick withdrawals. His laughter was music to my ears after all the shit we’ve all had to go through lately. I’m ready to get back to our normal carefree lives of hanging out, partying and celebrating life!
“Well, you ready to go get your man back?” I ask Savannah with a big, all teeth smile spread across my face as I wheel my luggage through the airport towards our gate.
“Yes. I can’t wait to put all of this behind me and go back to living my life with Kayden by my side. We’ve gone through enough shit. I think it’s about time God or fate, or whoever, just allows us to be happy.”
“Amen sister! What are the odds Kayden and the guys are in Vegas?” Savannah rolls her eyes at my joke. Last night, Shayne, that dude she ran into, let her know he is UFC fighter who lives in Las Vegas but flies to Los Angeles all the time for promotional work. Apparently he is on his way to Vegas today too.
“Don’t even say it Brooklyn. I want a drama free life from now on. By the way, sorry you’re missing Xander’s concert tonight.”
Ain’t that the truth? We’ve had enough drama to last us a damn lifetime! I’m seriously bummed we’re missing Xander’s show but he’ll be back in Houston soon enough. He promised when he does, there will be tickets waiting for us.
"Vegas baby!" I scream from the sidewalk for the entire city to hear as Savannah, and I step out of our taxi at the entrance of Kayden's Hotel and Casino. Its right down the road from Paris. I freak out a little inside when I spot the Eiffel Tower!
I love Vegas!
Savannah claps her hands beside my head, yelling at me, "Brooklyn! Focus! We need to find Kayden."
Rolling my eyes, I sigh dramatically. We’re in Vegas. She needs to chill out! Everything is going to be freaking fabulous. We know the truth. Savannah and Kayden can make up, and all will be right in the world again.
I need to find Jax, but first I need a few shots to build up my courage.
Reaching for Savannah’s hand, I squeal with excitement as I pull her towards the entrance of Knox Hotel and Casino.
"We'll find Kayden...then we're going to hit the clubs!"
Walking into the lobby we look around and immediately spot the front desk and head straight towards it. The line isn’t too bad so within a few short minutes we’re being called to come up to the desk.
“Hi, welcome to The Knox Hotel and Casino.” The middle-aged woman says, greeting us with an overly enthusiastic smile. She has a raspy voice from what sounds like smoking a pack a day. By the look of things, I’ll be sounding the same by the time we leave. The one downfall of Vegas is that people can chain smoke their asses off inside the damn hotels.
I have to be on set in a few days. I can’t afford to get laryngitis!
“Hi, I’m Savannah Livingston. My fiancée is Kayden Knox. I just need a key card to his penthouse suite.”
Savannah is talking to her with a hushed tone trying to keep it on the down low who she is, but I have no idea why. Her face has been all over the magazines with him. People should know who she is.
I’m standing around popping my gum and chatting it up with the other people in line. They all are loving me. Laughing at everything I say. I love tourists!
The woman at the front desk looks from Savannah then over to me suspiciously.
“Yeah, and I’m Celine Dion. Sorry doll, you’re not the first nor will you be the last to try and get up to Mr. Knox’s room. If you’d like to book a room, I’d be more than happy to help you. If not then please be on your way, I have a line of people behind you eager to get checked in and start gambling.” She says with her voice dripping with annoyance.
Savannah, looking more frustrated by the minute digs into her purse pulling out her iPhone and scrolls through her photos pulling up a picture of Kayden and her together to show Vivian. “There, now can we please have our key cards,” She says before dropping her phone back into her purse and glancing back at me. The look of announce on her face is identical to mine. I’m about two seconds away from jumping over the counter and grabbing a damn key card myself.
Giving me a weary glance she finally tells us, “I’ll need to see your IDs and then you’re good to go. I’m sorry for the inconvenience and hope you understand that I’m just trying to do my job.”
Wasting no time, we quickly dig our IDs out of our wallets. Within seconds, Vivian is sliding our key cards and welcoming us to ‘Fabulous Las Vegas’.
Hooking my arm with Savannah’s, we make our way towards the wall of elevators. “Vegas isn’t going to know what hit it by the time we through with it!” I tell her with a wicked grin dancing across my lips.

Love comes to those who still hope
after disappointment, who still believe after betrayal,
and who still love after being hurt.

November 14th 2009
My head is pounding, and every inch of my body hurts. I blink my eyes awake and slowly take in my surroundings. I quickly realize after seeing stark white walls and hearing the sounds of beeping monitors that I’m in a hospital room.
I bring my hand up to my head and feel gauze taped to my forehead. Taking in the room, I see flowers and stuffed bears beside me.
What the heck am I doing here, and what happened? I think to myself as I wrack my brain trying to remember where I may have been, or what might’ve happened for me to end up here. I squeeze my eyes shut and try my hardest to remember anything.
Slowly, I start to recall being at a frat party on campus, where I attend the University of Alabama. Images flash before me of my fiancé Lawson, my best friend Delilah, and our roommate Lily. We were all at the party together, but other than that, I can’t remember anything else.
I find the button to call for a nurse and push it as I shout out, “Hello?” My throat is dry and hoarse.
I attempt to call, “Hello?!” one more time, hoping someone will hear me, and finally come tell me what the hell is going on and why I feel like I’ve been hit by a freight train.
The instant I yell out again, my head pounds as if a snare drum is beating inside my skull.
